Cache appears to be gone based on a string of DNFs. The CO appears to have left the game?
Sigh, I wish I had read the logs before heading for this one. I was jogging with the geopups in the area, so headed up here, struggling to find the path in. When I got to GZ I saw a likely spot, but it was container-less, which was when I read the previous logs, and cursed myself for not checking earlier and saving myself a few kms of jogging. Still, there are some lovely views from here, so thanks anyway.
Judging by the previous logs it is out there somewhere, but not at the stated coordinates for the cache where we found a nice collection of disturbed small rocks and a thousand mozzies
This cache has been inconveniently moved by a trouble maker. Was found near the location of the cache (Three little ducks) which is also now missing. I have attached a screen shot of its co-ordinates.
Found this one today by accident - in a completely different location to where it was meant to be. Bit strange!
Ooooooooops! Seems like our little group stumbled across a moveable cache. Didn't actually find it at the coordinates listed, but rather at the coordinates ZDTR has mentioned (or will, as they were a bit confused by our comments). This was found at Three Little Ducks.
While there are some comments in the logbook that look like they could be from muggles it could be a false assumption. Probably from someone who doesn't know much about geocaching and thinks it needs to moved to a new position!
I had come down to the Nelson Bay area so as to keep the geocaching Streak going, and fill another Calendar Day - and this would make 102!
Found at 2300, so this would be another for the Night Caching Thesis.
I left a Correct Site Marker - surgical marking pen, in the cache believing that it was Three Little Ducks, and the coordinates were only 5m off its' GZ; not realising at the time it was a totally different cache gone AWOL!
Brought through for mileage: Coins - 3Bros, Aust Light houses, CITO Tag, Iconic Bridges 2012, Baa, Neigh Neddy and Oink, Sunseeker, and Travel GPS geocoins, B 2 B travel ingot, N-JOYO and Racing Red Ninja #4 TBs, and trackable shirt.
So will get MVMtBiker and MAP's to log this one that they also signed - and DNF Three Little Ducks, as this wasn't that one
TFTC, even if it is a bit mixed up by distances!

2300 Down from Taree with Cookie we found this cache, just not at the coordinates where it is posted for! As Cookie said, we found at/near where Three Little Ducks should have been!!
Thanks, now you just need to get it back to where it should be. I think ZDTR has it now.

We ( Map's cookie, and self) had come down so that MAP's could a few caches to fulfill the requires for a Challenge cache, only to find out when we were logging them that there had been an issue in the finding of Three Little Ducks. That is, that we actually found and signed the Salamander Tops logbook, it just wasn't were it should have been!
We will DNF the Three Little Ducks, and its' CO had picked up Salamander Tops caches from near where his cache was. So until it is returned to its original hiding spot it is not really in play.
Thanks for the cache, and we will try to find it when it is correctly place, and add a note then.

Came up to Port Stephens to get our tally to 1000 in our first year. This is number 968.
Another quick one to add to the tally. Thanks PS Hiker

We ventured toward Nelson Bay with DiMorgan for a good day of caching. The weather was overcast but quite pleasant. We had a list of caches to wanted to find and this was one of them. This is such a scenic part of the coast which makes caching most enjoyable.
Thanks to PS Hiker.
Thanks to PS Hiker.
We have spent the day geocaching with Liz & Bruce. Headed to beautiful Nelsons Bay where we saw
wonderful beaches, sand dunes & crystal blue water. Found many caches along paths & trails. A very successfull day of caching.

Sorry, took the shortcut from fame ave, was about to rain so didn't want to get wet. TFTC Cheers.
30/09/12 11:55 AM. Cache #130. 9th one in a 2-hour 15-cache frenzy while holidaying up here on the long weekend. Parked at top of Fame Ave and ran to the top with Techno Marksman. Spotted too easily...from at least 50m away as it looks right down to the track.
Found while visiting Beautiful Port Stephens. There is, far to many for the Geowife and me to find in the short time we have here, so we will just have to keep coming back.
Nice easy find, the log book was a little damp but still able to write on it.

We found a sneaky parking place which gave us a very short walk to GZ. Unfortunately MrsFish could spot the cache location from about 30m away, didn't need the GPS. A Coin was left to travel, thanks for a good hide.
Another lovely bush walk. We've walked our way around a lot of the area doing these caches.
This was a nice easy find with Browngang on our Nelson Bay Geo-athon. Thanks for the cache.
Found on a caching blitz of Port Stephens with Blackie_71. We took the shortest route too, in from Fame Av. Made the quick, did the deed and off again we were.
Cheers from Browngang

Cheeky little cache I say! Found at 9.20pm on a cold n rainy night a quick sign of the log and we where out if there before any more mozzie attacks took place
Away on holidays...our 7th find....with it being 30 degrees we also took the short cut in (sorry )....so was a quick walk to GZ & had CIH....nice bit of bush land....T4TC....

Sorry about this PS Hiker, but after a number of other rather long hikes today, I took the short cut from Fame Ave, and cache was quickly in hand.
Left Tb Libby and some toys.

First cache of the day (afternoon) after a leisurely breakfast at our accommodation. Lots of mozzies about, so we didn't stay long!
Bikerbuddy found this one while toriaz and I were climbing uphill( I think toriaz wanted to make sure I didn't collapse and slow down their caching trip around Port Stephens). Not much bushland left around here. Thanks PS Hiker.
Nearby locals don't have much to do here. They seemed to find us parking and walking into the bush to be the most fascinating thing. Bedawn enjoyed the walk up while I found the cache in a very obvious spot. Thanks
Maybe coming in from the bottom wasn't the best choice, but we managed to get there in the end. A quick find for the bikerbuddy.
Thanks
Thanks
1st of 3 finds for the day before the 830 breakfast at the resort. What a great area to walk through after being on the beach and on the hills the day before. T4TC and an excellent hide!!!, but I feel with the survey pegs out it maywell be doomed soon.
Our last cache for the day just before 18:00. Walked in from the cul-de-sac and I don't know what happened to the GPS but we got to a spot where it said 27 metres and then it din't change. Kept walking in the direction we thought it would be and spotted something not quite right.
Success. As we returned to the car the sun was hanging in the sky like a giant red ball. Can recommend it for the sunsets although it looks like there is about to be some more development very close to GZ. The survey pegs are all around.

I was expevting a bit more of a walk to this one for some reason and was suprised at how close the parking area was. Still a nice little walk to GZ.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Quick find came in the easy way and saw the hide straight away beautiful views up here
We were just about to call it quits for the day as it was getting dark and cold. However, mr horsey just wanted to check where this one was for future reference and couldn't resist when we pulled up and it was nice and close. So he and the eldest geoson made a quick dash and made the find. SL TFTC
Found with Bedmaker.

The view from the vacant block was pretty good. I parked here and proceeded up the track to the obvious hide. Some bloke came out of the top house and must have wondered where I came from!! I smiled and drove off. Clear skies.
Two members of our team took one look at the hill and decided to stay in the car and read. They didn't get to experience the satisfaction of another fun find. Loved the spot. Thanks PS_Hiker.
Reperio at 1530. Having done 'Corlette Tops' earlier, it was to this one, and while this one was a little steeper, Darwinian stayed in the car while I went for a run straight up to GZ.
Nice natural area.

#4768 Found this cache as part of the Rats, Steeba & FarmerFrentzen blitz on the Port Stephens area. We were unsure of whether we'd do these few caches up in the hills but when we read that we could drive within 60m, we were up there in a flash. Great views of late afternoon in the bay were had.
Thanks
Thanks
Found on a mammoth day's caching of 124 caches in 17 hours around the Maitland and Port Stephens area with The Rats and FarmerFrentzen.
Didn't stop to take in the limited views at GZ today- cache spotted from a couple of metres back. Thanks!

Found during a 17 hour caching spree with The Rats and steeba that yielded 124 finds.
An unexpected find while running around the Bay. Thankfully we were able to park relatively close to GZ and after a short stroll had this one in hand.
TNLN and thanks PS Hiker for the cache.

Some excellent real estate and view up here, but go zillions of mozzies so I made a hasty sign and retreat. Thanks PS Hiker..
Drove to within 60m of GZ and a quick das and grab had the cache in hand. Thanks
This is our 4336th overall find.
Found at about 2:46 PM. A nice quick walk up from Fame Ave. The cache was spotted from a way off and a simple find was had. I wonder what the survey pegs are for? Is a road going to go through the GZ?
Thanks to PS Hiker for the cache.

We found this one on a beautiful Spring Saturday. We had a lovely walk in towards GZ and enjoyed the views. Once close we did do a bit of bush bashing and walked around in a few circles before we got the GPS to settle down. Then we had a quick search and located the cache. We think this one is more of a regular size rather than small - but happily that made it easier to find. TNLNSL TFTC
Nice walk while Mrs Grub Fred and the mother-in-law read in the car, nice spot, TFTC!!
Found at 12noon GAFF1. Lovely area and the bush was alive with the kookaburras on a beautiful and sunny day. It would be nice to live in one of the lovely homes around here with their great views. We had our niece from Melbourne with us and she has never been to this area of NSW, so she was very impressed with the great scenery.
Thanks PSHiker. Took Pathtag.

We decided to head out for a trip to Nelson Bay for a days caching. We started here and were surprised to get a FTF. We parked fairly close and found the hide after a short search. Great location for a cache. We took the Canada keychain and left a Christmas Teddy Bear and a Travel Ingot Travel Bug. TFTC PSHiker. [FTF 36, 609]
