One of my fav caches pretty damn view of a lake, would swim in it if it wasnt private lmao
Great excuse to take a detour from the main road. TFTC!!South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - MEGA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Hope to see you at The Great Leap Forward!
A diversion on our return to the airport for Infoferret to claim the most northerly cache in the Auckland region. Interesting large private lake here, we saw magpies and tūī. Quick find by
Final day (3) of our three day Geocaching trip to Whangarei. This stage included a large loop to the West of Whangarei picking up solved puzzles and then heading south getting some of the most northern caches in Auckland and then heading back to the airport for a flight back to Wellington. It rained on and off through the morning and some caches were done in pouring rain whilst others were in gaps in between. We signed the log as BIC for BFG, Infoferret and CrystalFairy.
Lovely large private lake near here.. Lots of bird and very pretty.

14:38 Final day of a 3 day expedition to the areas north of Auckland with Crystal Fairy and Barefootguru, most logs signed as BIC to save space and time. The focus of the trip was to find a number of puzzle caches solved over the last couple of years, plus other caches of interest we passed. The rain has arrived with a vengeance, so being somewhat selective in the ones we stop for & how long we search...
Actually the rain had briefly stopped here, a beautiful spot.
TFTC nodo for placing this cache, number 11987 for me.

I'm on a week's annual leave, choosing to spend time traveling north to visit and reconnect with a few friends up here, and naturally that also gives me an opportunity to do some caching up this way again. Today is day 3, which involves driving from Kaiwaka to Whangarei and back.
I was now making my leisurely way back towards Kaiwaka, which meant going off at tangents on back roads to look for caches such as this one. Getting to GZ was no problem, and the cache was a quick find. Funny that I missed out on getting a lonely cache by just 2 days lol!
No issues to report here, so I was quickly back on my way again after signing the log.
Thanks for placing this one.

It is over a year since this was last logged so I checked it today and it was still there but in a mess so I have replaced it so all is well.
On the way up north, with the elder Future Finder, to visit family, so, thought we would break up the trip with a few caches along the way. We left State Highway One via the Kiawaka-Mangawhai Road and returned to the main road via Baldrock Road allowing us a nice little detour loop to find caches along. We detoured down this short road and parked up. Cache was a super quick find in the obvious spot. It surely is a well cared for little lake here. Thanks for showing us. Cheers for the cache placement!
Stopped for a look at this nice little lake on our way home from Whangarei this afternoon. Thanks!
Wow didn't know this was here. Missed the little road and had to double back. Neat spot. TFTC
I'm staying at my Mother in laws in Maungatapere to shorten the driving. Today's plan was to spend the day collecting some caches in the Mangawhai area for the hidden creatures souvenirs. This was my first cache for the day. A couple of muggle neighbours came past so I rang my daughter to say good morning until they disappeared. Cache was then a quick find. A very pretty lake. Thanks for the cache
Quick easy find. A couple of nosy neighbors to help. Well less neigh more moo. TFTC.
What a gorgeous private lake! Wouldn't mind one myself !
Nice to have a quick find ...as heading back to Auckland to work, after a few days off.
Thanks nodo.

Had a good look for this one as we left our accomodation but couldn't find it. Rain started and we had to move on so gave up.......... Ah well, will be back another time to enjoy Duck's Paradise.
On my way through the area, so just had to stop off for a cache. Never knew this lovely lake existed.
A muggle farmer was busy repairing a fence as I drove slowly down the road and he had a bit of a look my way, especially when I stopped at the bottom and got out.
A camera in hand and pretend picture taking soon seemed to put him at ease and I was able to quickly locate the cache, sign the log and return, without any concern from him. He even returned my friendly wave as I departed back up the road. Thx for bringing me somewhere I had never been before. TFTC

What a wonderful spot for the locals to enjoy. Exploring this back road and enjoying the sights. TFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... On a flying visit to Northland with the intention of finding very old caches and anything else that is within short walking distance of the vehicle. The gloomy, black sky is an indication that rain is only a minute away...
A lovely spot to visit, and a quick find. TFTC.

The Squirrel and my plans for the weekend was to log as many old caches as possible to go towards completing another challenge. This meant a lot of kilometres driving and a bit of forward planning and plus collect as many other caches as we could. The plan was to travel to KawaKawa Bay and stay at Hemi's uncles home.
Early start Saturday morning with our goal to get to KawaKawa. Google tells me its 266 Kilometres one way, but with caching who knows how many km's it will be.
Left Rotorua after work on Friday with a stop for dinner (Cambridge Roast House). Next stop Huntly for a coffee and a chat with fellow cachers, then on to KawaKawa Bay. No caches done on this leg.
Early start Saturday morning to achieve our goal.
11.40am - Interesting spot and with an even more interesting back ground. SLTFTC

I have 8 dog legs in the car so I thought I'd make another one on my way home from Northland and pick up a few caches. tftc
Wouldn't it be awesome to live by a lake like this. Found cache. Sorry last logs were for cache down the road
Out and about with Miss Davieland collecting some local caches. Nice quick find. TFTC.
Lots of algae on the ground which was a bit weird but soon had the cache in hand. TFTC
Any excuse to look at a lake! see its up for sale, wonder whats the price? Thanks for the hide, another place we have never visited before!
Found it a couple of weeks ago (24/8/14) but did not get round to logging it. TFTC
Today we headed from Mangawhai Heads to Kaiwaka finding caches along the way. We enjoyed our drive around the lush green countryside.
Todays trip was with a new geocacher TuiMarie.
We have spent many years visiting the Mangawhai region But we did not know this small lake existed.
We picked up a TB here. Worth a favourite point
Thanks for placing this cache nodo
When I got here it was so overcast I couldn't get a signal on GPSr, so just took a punt at where the cache might be. Looked where it seamed others had looked as well, with no luck.
Having decided it was missing, although puzzled as to how, when it had been found the other day, I returned to the car.
As soon as I sat down, I got a signal - compass was pointing a totally different direction to where I had been looking. Had cache in hand shortly after, yeah! TFTC

Up north today to collect the last few minutes we needed for the 36 South Latitude Challenge. We needed minute 07, so we decided to visit the Lake on Bald Rock. We haven't been down this road before - this is a particularly picturesque spot. Thanks for showing us.
The lake is nice but what I would really want to do is find a cache on the summit of the bald rock nearby. Now that would be cool!
Many thanks

#923 What a beautiful spot- not bad for a backyard huh? Thankfully no-one about so I could make the grab quickly. TFTC!
Another nice quick find with slieschke as we headed south from this little jaunt up north for my 1500th FTF. TFTC!!!
A nice quick find with funkymunkyzone. Left and right were both private roads so park dead in front of the sign. Thankfully it was there, wouldn't have wanted to continue further into the lake!
Thanks!
Thanks!
Quick find here before heading back to Auckland from our week up North. That bald rock sure looks impressive, im sure theres a way up there to place a cache! TFTC!
That s the true meaning of park and grab. . The f word grow over the fence was alive with the lethal dangly leg stings that haunt every time I come close to that plant and they where spreading out to gz...

Quick find followed by a tumble into the ditch. Lots of ducks and swans Looks like an artificially enhanced lake but still very pretty.
#769 Quick stop on a return journey from Dargaville. Nice spot, Lucky people having a private lake. SL. TFTC.
Found as part of a driving tour of the lower Northland caches with GT as we grabbed the A- Z series. The first of the day and it's always good to find the first of the day with no worries. Thanks.
First find for the day. Heading North with TF to complete the A-Z series. Lovely Peaceful spot and a quick find to get the day started. TFTC
A private lake how unusual. Didn't bother with the GPSr here, not to many hiding spots, and the first place I looked.

A much easier detour than anticipated ( my GPS mapping still thinks it is unsealed, lol)
Thanks for the pleasant quick sidetrip, picturesque destination & the cache; a nice way to break up another otherwise boring drive to Auckland.

now how did I miss this?! must have been published just after I ran my PQ... Funny too, Bald Rock seems to be beckoning as I noted the signs from Both ends on my early morning drive to Mangawhai for the Heads to Harbour run. Next time
Arrived at GZ during heavy rain and although reluctant to get out of the car we were keen to see if it was another FTF [?]. found the cache and another blank log FTF swapped TBs T4TC.
