While I was not successful finding even a single hint object down at Middle of the Road, this did not present any similar difficulties. I did not see the hint object here either, but it was not necessary as the cache was exposed. Unfortunately, the contents were also very wet. Managed to sign and replace, but this could use a little TLC. TFTC.
Couldnt find anything, the last people to find it was over a year ago so hopes werent high
Slippery slope. Started at the top but went too far down as Gps on phone pointed that way. Climbed back up and spotted it. Thanks .
Easy find today in very slippery conditions; fluked the find because I started looking almost from when I left the path even though my GPSr said the cache was 18m away - better to trust the cache description it turned out. TFTC
Nope. It's getting late and there is a lot of bush there when the GPS gives up.
Well this one took a little hunting. Eventually located after searching a large area. TFTC
There appears to have been a concerted effort to clean up gorse & broom along this part of the track recently which made it a bit less obvious how to best approach the cache. Left the track a bit past GZ and then worked my way back, eventually approaching the cache from slightly below. Soon spotted the container and gained another smiley. Took the short way back to the track, with the help of a few trees for support. TFTC
Made the climb from parking at the lower street passing some kiddyboos making their way down the footpath. Entered the bush at the corner and hint was spotted as I steadied my descent and held my hand out. Scanned around to spot cache out in the open, not far from the goat track part way down. Opened the damp cache to find a mildewy log pad that has seen better days and signed the log TNLN. No snakes here but cache seems to have been the focus of some attention by the local jungle wildlife looking for treasure and could do with a cache refresh for cleaner, drier , healthier components. A bit organic in cache regretting leaving the gloves back at the pony. Another suburb wood side nominee for a D2.0/T1.5 CITO as the trash was within sight of the track. tftc
Found the cache and thankfully a few trees to clutch on the way down and up
Reluctantly I am going to do a cut and paste for most of my logs today. Lytteltonwitch, Geomum007 and I had a very busy day. Most logs were signed in full some were initials. We had a FANTASTIC day, walked our wee socks off and tomorrow - home time, has come around too fast. Thanks to all the cache owners for making this Dunedin stay so memorable. This was a puff and groan after a long walk to Tunnel Beach!
Nearly gave this a miss, a second look however gave us a clue, cache was in the open, signed the log and popped under nearby tree. TFTC!
Spent ages looking for this one. My GPS said that GZ was 18m from the path, so I figured I’d need to find the hint object first. No immediate luck there so I traversed the area 5-15m parallel with the path looking for both the hint and the cache. Getting frustrated I was going to give up then spotted something... yes that’s it! Little bit of water in the container - no snakes thank goodness! Logbook ok. So now all I had to do was find the hint object. Still took longer than it should, but there it was plain as day and actually bigger than I was expecting!! Thanks!
My partner's snowboarding skills came in handy as he slid down on both feet over the leaves and sticks. Very steep in places! Not found today unfortunately...
Can I make the comment that I expected this cache to be on a plane? Aww? Aww? Aww?
Inside is a bit damp, but the log is well protected and dry. Didn't see the hint object until I made my way out of the bush. Thank you for the cache.

Well I dislike snakes very much and these ones were no different. Hiding in the bush waiting to be found. But find I did so yes the snakes are alive and well and protecting the cache nearby. Very happy to have a smiley here at last TFTC
It's been nearly a year since the last find, but I can confirm the snakes are alive and well. What looks like recent gorse die-back has made the cache site a breeze to access. Tftc!
Walked for miles up Summerville Street and hunted for a long time without any joy. Couldn’t find the hint item but found a marker of a king that differed from the hint description. Frustrating after all our efforts.
Found it, don't think the hint object is there anymore and this area has been recently cleared. Cache easily found though, tftc!
Found with Frame Family. Area has been cleared recently so reasonably easy access. Tftc
I saw the marker first and realised that I must be just about standing on the cache. Sure enough I looked at feet and there it was! Thanks
Well I certainly made hard work of this one on my last visit!! This time I spotted the hint object straight away, and also the cache after a quick mental calculation. Thanks muchly.
Great hide took a bit to find it. But like some other once the hint object was found it was an easy find. TFTC ☺
Found with CJ-Curry - a brambly scramble after we went off the path in the wrong spot. Had doubts when we saw the DNFs but found it safe and sound cheers!
Found with Hevic on a sunny Sunday afternoon. We were a bit apprehensive given that a couple of latest logs had been DNFs, but we persevered and gained some extra hope when Hevic found the hint object. It wasn't long before I stumbled almost head-on into the cache. Cheers!
I gave up after sliding down the hill on my back for the second time, but I guess it is there somewhere.
Searched for twenty minutes after looking for a way in with all the horse been cut and through to side of path we couldn't find cable tie or cache
I came back with a bit more time to spend searching than last time and bought along my walking pole for that extra bit of help. I'm still relying on my desk top at home for searching out the likely location so I was quite chuffed when I scored this one.
After success at Rotary Park Close I thought I would have a go at this one. I spent about 30 minutes blundering around I haven't been able to live up to my name. Purchasing a GPSr is on my agenda so this might have to wait until then. On the other hand I like the challenge of just using Google Earth on my desk top. There has been an improvement in resolution of Google Earth in the last couple of days.
Very wet underfoot today nice cache, just have to remind myself to read the description and not blindly use the gps. TFTC
Found the walkway easy enough and the walk along the slightly soggy track was ok but looking where the GPS showed us that we had to turn off wasn't so good. The gorse and bushes looked a bit impenetrable but once we'd ducked under some branches it was surprisingly open. I was about to slip and slide my way down the hill when Aoraki announced his young eyes had spied the cable tie and after that it was a quick find. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
GPS was about 13m out but thankfully spotting the cable tie stopped us from a slippery slope. Left TB. Found with debsnz
Very soggy walk up the path and then a very nimble tramp over the prickles and spiky branches that some kind sole had thrown down the bank soon had this in hand, great description and very clear when you get down there! xx TFTF
Quick find in the afternoon, a lot easier to find then it looked from the path.

Practically no GPS when in the wrong place but find the right spot and it'll lead you right to it Cable tie is there but hard to spot. Yay!! When we did
Found it. Went to far down then realised it would be up top.
Thorny plant grabbed my shirt as i pick up cache, so lucky i had a stick, but still got my arm.
Took TB.

Bit of a bush bash, was warned about the thorns... Still got a hand full. Nice harder one. Tftc
couldnt find it after work today probably buried it after turning the place upside down.didnt see cable tie on tree or the cache.got pricked on my finger too by thorny vine
I sent PC SNIFF down the hill to search for this one since my shoes were better for door knocking than bush walking/scrambling/crawling. He took a long long time searching and came back very grumpy with the bad news.
OOPS. I didn't realize that I was logged in under PC Sniff when I wrote my comment. I guess it saves him logging which is probably a good thing given his typing speed We were caching together and this is the only one we couldn't find ... despite the knocking-on-door shoes.
I went down, i went across, i went back across, i went up , back down, back across, back across across,up up down down then said sod it went up in a huff and left
Oh dear, we looked, then checked the area and the map......but missed it completly.
Thanks anyway......

The hardest part was finding access. Once we spotted the hint object finding the cache was easy.

This one was a bit of a problem aside from me taking the long way to get here. I guess Guwapo (or his dad) placed this on a cloudy or even wet day, as the coords are 14m out (I managed to get my GPS a clear view, so it is accurate). However the decription is spot on, if you can find the cable tie (I was lucky).
I didn't see any snakes either. But that doesn't mean they aren't there...

Approached from the Moodie St side and found within a few minutes. Watch out for the gorse! TFTC
This one took a while to spot, but after finding middle of the road, I just looked for a simmiliarish hide, and sure enough, there was one, and a marker too! If it wasn't for the leaf cover having partially come off the cache though, it could have taken a lot longer!! (So lucky me! )
Did get completely covered in prickles though, and have to close my eyes walking through some parts to avoid getting prickles in the face! Haha.
TFTC!!

Probably the difficulty and terrain of this cache need to be reviewed. Very slippery and quite steep and really hard to find. Spent ages looking under leaves and all over the place but nothing. Maybe washed away in heavy rains? A better clue would be appreciated as the cable tie is invisible! Thanks for the challenge anyway.
3rd visit, this time in day light, wow it looks so different....

Phew, after a night mission last night, things became a lot clearer in the day light. Found with Ingidayna and CacheMan Chris. TFTC
A good fun cache. GPS took me 12M past the cache which added to the entertainment. It gets a lot steeper very quickly. Found the cable tie on the way out after the cache. No snakes today.
I was in Aus last month got into the trees looking for a cache which I couldn't locate straight away so I then read the description, as one does. The first sentence in CAPS was "caution brown snakes have been known to nest in the area"! I just about jumped out of skin and didn't know where to turn next. Lucky that doesn't happen here.

Nice, took brooch, now placed in manic mushrooms. Easy to find but have to be willing to get in bush. very slippery though!
Frewster was here today and 'found' the cache (on the back of some other friendly cachers with their Geodad)
Nephew and Gran are now officially Geonephew and Geogran after their gentle introduction with us today
My daughters took 2 left 2. Signed log and replaced.
Cache was dry and in good condition.
Cheers

Hunted but not located. Will check terrain difficulty next time, was a bit tougher than I expected
What better way to spend some time (about an hour actually) in the early morning hours than bush bashing! I think I am just too stubborn and do not give up easily if I got time on my hands Gps was leading me further and further into the bushes, and around in circles... I got very familiar with many of the trees around, hugging them and holding onto them for dear life... but the prickly stuff was the worst, I wish I wore long pants if I was going to go where I went (not really part of the route to the cache just so you know ) my legs ended up scratched so badly I decided against visiting the pool afterward to avoid being thrown out... I was going to post a photo but it did not come out as well as the reality of it Must have combed an area of 20mx20m, and then there it was, just laughing at me... Found the hint later, too... Had heaps of fun though, cannot wait to look for the middle of the road once re-enabled
12:23:00 PM3 Wow talk about being led astray. I was cut, scratched, gouged, gored and bloodied by the scramble through the gorse to this one. It was such a kind gesture by the CO who having piloted me in by the toughest route found a much kinder on the body way out. Also he was understanding enough to tell me to "Harden Up, You're a Softie."
I must remember to sometime repay the favour. .
Thanks Guwapo

Quick find thanks. Left some hair ties and removed some plastic rubbish that was lying around.
Found after quite a long search, largely because the coordinates of the GZ on my Garmin differed a tad from those given (.004 in both directions). Cache very wet -- poured about a spoonful of water out and dried up as well as I could.
This cache (and the walk to get to it) is part of a claim for Rambler's Reward.

Nice easy find. Cache is a bit wet and the ground is slippery -2nd fall of the day, must get better footwear! TFTC
I didnt know that this track even existed so it was good to find. Found with macgyver08.
This was a cool track too! Never knew it was here. Had to negotiate a small bit of gorse, but the cache was an easy find. TFTC.
Found cache fairly quickly by luck more than anything. GPS was way off and didn't find your clue at all. Had no idea there was even a path here. TFTC.
A little more than 10M, muddy and full of bush lawyer, Good footwear a must. TFTC.
Took a bit of hunting to find this as my GPS was leading me astray. Was about to give up when I spotted it, TFTC
Nope didn't find it but didn't spent too much time as I was racing to get to a spot during low tide.
Didn't see the hint object .. must have been in the wrong GZ.

Spent about three quarters of an hour here. GPSr was all over the place, Having see some others of Guwapo's caches, I suspect I just did not investigate the brambles sufficiently. I will be back next time my wife is relieving in the area.
