We were off to the USA and Canada for a few weeks of holiday, and thoroughly enjoyed traveling around, and visiting the many different places and caches we came across
This one was next up on our cycle-powered tour of DC today, and after a short peddle, we soon arrived at GZ, where we saw exactly what we needed We had a good look around the front area, however we wanted to get a fair bit of DC done today so were not able to go inside

I did a caching tour of the National Mall this afternoon, leaving the geo-widow to do her thing. Saw lots of sights and places I wouldn't otherwise have gone, including this little garden which was more crowded than I expected ... and not just grannies Thanks for bringing me here ... it was good. Email sent.
Visited the area today on our first full day in Washington. Started at this end of the Mall and grabbed this while heading past.
Answers sent off and the all clear given to log.
Thanks for the virtual cache.

Gotcha! Visiting the area and enjoying a day of exploration of the Mall area... Thank you for bringing me here and the history... That part about the Anthrax I had never heard of, and was good to learn... Message with the answer will be sent this evening... TFTVC and history!
Passing by while on my way to another cache and snatching up Munzees. Saw there was a virtual here and then ended up going inside to look around a bit.
Thanks for the cache and thanks for bringing me here.

#172. August 23, 2013 11:25am - Nice one for a lunch time break. - TFTC - Happy hunting! G_Men
Thanks for the virtual and for leading us here. I wasn't even planning on visiting this particular spot. Visiting DC from the Poconos in Pennsylvania. Yay! Team Hilltop! ♥
Heading to the East Coast and then north in our RV, grabbing assorted caches along the way. A special thanks to all the cache owners that make this hobby possible. Thanks for the fun, caches and hides. All logs marked with a circled "GB". Today was a special day we rode the Metro into DC and walked way to many miles in the processing of grabbing 20 Virtuals and 7 Earthcaches. If any answers are required they are or will be messaged to the appropriate CO.
One of the often missed gems on the National Mall and one of our favorite spots. Great virtual cache and great excuse to wall down to this end of the Mall. TFTC!
On the way to the Capitol we also visited 'not your granny's garden'. Real nice place, especially on such a hot day.

Our last full day in town. A nice change of pace from the museums. I remarked that there's no security to get in. The person at the info desk said this is the only SI museum that doesn't have it. I guess plant lovers are peaceful people. TFTC.
Great Location, find at our Washington sightseeing Tour
We hope it's alright if we send the email and the photos after our return to Germany.
Thanks for this Cache

#675 This was my 2nd time to visit the Botanic Garden. I didn't know a virtual cache was set up here on my 1st visit. My favorite spot was the Orchid Garden. It was also awesome what they did with the overhead walkway. Thanks for setting up this virtual cache.
Drove through Washington today on my way from Pennsylvania to Texas. Had to go through downtown as this was my first ever visit here. Having been to 43 States it was time to put in a visit to DC. I was surprised there were so few cars around. I had expected a lot more traffic. But that came when I left.
Thanks for the virtual in this place! It's much better to have a virtual there than be looking for real containers in this location.

Well, my Granny would be awfully busy if this was her garden [:p] thanks for taking me here, ladies! Greetings from Grizzly
We have been to the Garden on numerous occasions, but that was long before we started caching. So we stopped by again today for this quick virtual. TFTC
There's a challenge cache in our home state of Arizona that requires you to have found at least ten caches in a single day, none of which are traditional. Since we were coming back to DC for the first time in a long time, we thought we'd follow the CO's suggestion and knock off a bunch of virtuals on the mall to meet the challenege. So we took the Orange Line to the nearby Metro station and have been working our way westward. Our goal was to finish up at the World Wide Flash Mob event, and a dozen or so virtuals later, we succeeded. TFTV.
A group from the South Jersey Geocachers made our way to the beautiful city of Washington DC. This was one of our many stops on a gorgeous day. You can't imagine the heartbreak of this horticulture student not to stay for.... days?... here! We had to get to our pick-up spot for the bus trip back to NJ, so now I want a return trip to explore this garden properly. I'm so glad to have glimpsed the oldest botanical garden, however fleeting a glimpse it was. Thanks for bringing us here!
Stopped by this virtual while caching in DC on President's Day, answers on the way. TFTC
Found with princess unicorn after walking around the capital in the freezing cold. TFTC.

These places are always worth a look see IMHO and this one was worth the detour. The sculpture in front was especially striking, I've never seen any of those quite that large!
Grabbed this one first thing this am on our stroll around the mall geocaching and museuming. It was on the way to my capture of two nearby munzee one if which was a first to capture
This was the second of a few caches we acquired today. Email will be sent in due course

Toured the grounds around dusk with Kitten on the hunt, but unfortunately that made us too late for a trip inside. We did, however, get to admire the outdoor gardens nearby and watch as the lights came on at the Capitol and the Monument. Beautiful place you have here in Washington, we'll both be back. Thanks for bringing us to the Garden!
Hi all,
Went to the area and really enjoyed it... THANKS for bringing us here.

This is the 4th day of my much anticipated trip to the 1st International EarthCache (Mega) Event in Maine. Twelve states, (6 new ones) plus DC over 13 days. I'm very happy to have started this adventure. My walk around the mall started out with me tripped on the angled curb by the cross walks. Got just a tiny raspberry on my left hand. Saw so much today and missed even more. Will have to come back to just visit the museums. Really cool spot. Today started out with some rain which stopped after an hour. Then clouds until the early evening when the heavy rains started. TFTVC
Found this one with rockhoundbmw and scouter649 while walking from our hotel south of the mall over to Library of Congress. TFTC!
It was great to be taken to this place because on such a hot day would have walked right past it.
Neat sculptures out the front

Greetings from Perth, Western Australia!
I'm a huge fan of gardens so was quite happy to see one and get a cache too. Came along with muggles I'd just met at a train station and became friends with yesterday, but didn't tell them why I was interested in the front of the building!

Having been to the Kew Gardens in England we thought we knew what we were looking for. Inside was very similar although on a smaller scale but the display was spectacular. We obtained the necessary information at 1:50pm. TFTC
Nice trip to DC, caching in and out of the sights. Visiting up from Chapel Hill, NC. Answer was provided by Flashjam in email. Great location, this was my second sweep of the virtuals I have missed on previous visits. It most certainly isnt!
Grabed it during the sideseeing tour in DC at this rainy day... get wet till my bones. TFTC dunestar
Jeanne and I stopped by here today as we explored more of the National Mall on foot. It was a tiring day but filled with interesting stops! The line up for the Christmas display was long but it was no problem to tour the rest of the building. Answer emailed. Thanks for setting up this cache.
Stopped by this spot while out doing some waymarking and geocaching in the rain in DC with Chimo Guy. Very nice place - I am sure it is quite beautiful in the summer.
This one took me to an area I had not seen before and I was most impressed by the gardens within. Thanks.

This was cache number 22 on the day for Mrs SeeKPeeKRs and I. We were on a "Virtual Tour" of DC. We ended up picking up 25 caches today as well as walking just under twelve, yes 12, miles. We enjoyed the area. We were actually there while one of the model trains were set up just outside. We snapped a couple of pictures and went on our way. Thanks for keeping this one going. (email sent)
We actually visited when one of these smelly flowers was blooming (happens once every 17 years or so). We only found this out when we were in Hawaii (which was our next stop).
Nice, to tell the truth I liked some of the metal sculptures inside better than some of the plants, but all in all a pretty cool place. Cheers Gav [107]
