Another Mona Lisa and I have been back twice now and still no luck! Co please check?
Another great day of caching with the Froghoppin duo.
Sadly though although they had been here before, I could not locate the nano.
Will have to watch and return. Tnx

Catching up with late logs.
Traveling with SuperPop and heading for Murray Bridge after an enjoyable day yesterday in the Victor Harbour area we were caching along the way.
With three pairs of eyes hunting around here we sill came up empty handed and after about 15 minutes a couple of muggles pulled up so we decided to declare it a DNF, hopefully it is our old eyes and the cache is still safely n place.
Thanks anyway Bregor, the view and the mine were well worth the stop.

Since I had an appointment at Mt Barker for a chat on community radio about geocaching, followed by a different appointment at Strathalbyn, I managed to find 6 caches through the day, as well as watch LongWayHome actually find a cache
Thankfully despite the massive winds and rain storms, I stayed dry for the whole day [^]
A quick find, despite it being over my head
Nothing happening here at all today!

Couldn't find this the last time we were in Strath but went back today armed with GPS. Geopartner had it in hand before I'd even made it to the GZ. Thanx
How very community minded of the mine company. The area was a surprise though it looks a little outdated now. The main mine operations now appear to be out of sight of the viewing area. Found the cache only after I read what type it was! TFTC bregor.
Start of a new day, having been around Murray Bridge the last couple of days, and now on our way to Victor Harbour. Getting close to Strathalbyn for first coffee. Interesting seeing the mine operations now I look on satellite view.
Thanks bregor for the cache.

Touring Australia having left Perth in late February we are leisurely touring South Australia.
Today with the current thunderstorms, heavy rain and lightning we had a VERY late start to the day. In fact we were debating about which cache we would do to continue our geo streak whilst cooking lunch.
But once we were alerted to a new cache in Strathalbyn we finished off lunch stacked up the dishes and 'hit the road' [:o)]
We managed to grab a few caches on the way home before we realised we had already driven past 2 FTF opportunities near our camp [B)]
We found your cache whilst in the area today. Thanks bregor for helping us to tour SA whilst using Geocaching to tour SA.

Found on our OZ MEGA 2014 camping holiday.
It is always great going over to South Australia and this trip was no exception.
There are some amazing caches and views around.
Please forgive the copy/paste logs.
Thank you for placing this cache for us to find.

GeoWife1 (Liz) and I are attending the Oz Mega at Murray Bridge, we left home on the 14 Apr 14 and returned on 22 Apr 14. We cached along the way and of course all around Murray Bridge and the surrounding areas, even picked up a few caches on the way home.
Very interesting to look down into the mine. Cache located and log signed.

Today was planned as a day to broaden our focus a little beyond caching. The Strathalbyn area offered everything we were looking for - including some caches
The scenery was splendid and the old buildings with their iconic SA architecture scored many favourite points from us and the Suscoes.
It was interesting to read about the structure of the mine here and compare it with the gold mine in Bendigo.
TNLN .. . . . SL . . Thanks to bregor for the hunt.

Suscoe headed out this way today in the company of Phetlern as we worked out way through the Strathalbyn area to enjoy some caching in the Bremer Valley and beyond.
It was a magical day with scattered cloud, a gentle breeze, a good variety of caches and good company.
The country side was staring to look green mixed in with some bushland settings that still looked dry.
This cache was found, logged and returned. One of 27 finds for the day.

Found this one during our month long tour of SE Australia. It is our intention to find as many caches as possible during our stay and as a result logistics dictate that this generic log will have to suffice .Hope the cache owners, to whom we extend our gratitude for their efforts, will all understand the reasons for this. All good wishes from us both.

After we checked and found we were looking for a nano, it was a quick find. Forgot a pen so didn't sign the log. An interesting view of the mine which may not be here for much longer. Thanks for the excuse to have another look.

I only realised this mine existed a few weeks ago when I drove past it on a work run to Murray Bridge. When I later found there was a cache here, I just had to bring Mrs J out for a squizz from the viewing area. It all seemed fairly quiet there today, but some of the smells reminded me of my time at Olympic Dam.
We then went back to look for the cache and it was found immediately after reading the hint. We managed to get the log out, signed and replaced after the usual fumbling about.
I just have to say it, the only good nano is a found nano.
Thanks bregor.

South Australia 2013 with Sol de Lune. We headed off on 12/4 and arrived home on 28/4. The trip was to visit the SA series so more time could be spent at the Mega itself next year. We did a huge variety of caching around Murray Bridge, the Mid North, Yorke Peninsula and Whyalla Region. Apart from one wet night and two wet days we were able to spend heaps of time caching.
Today we were heading to the forty winks series and managed a few along the way. This mine seemed a bit closer to civilisation than I was aware of, but the tunnel is interesting and the cache came to hand after a bit of poking.
Thanks.

Grabbed with albida on our 2 week caching run from Canberra to, and around, different parts of South Australia including Loxton, Murray Bridge, Tailem Bend, Yorke Peninsula and around to Whyalla before heading home via Broken Hill, Cobar and Parkes. We completed a few power trails and left a couple to do when in the area again for next years Mega event.
Overall a great many different styles and types of caches found. A great time was had caching for 16 days straight as well as camping along the way.
Thanks for adding to the fun with this cache.

Had to wait for some geriatric muggles to read every sign and story board, they eventually left so we commenced the search. GPS kept taking us west. After not finding anywhere likely we cast around and found the little sucker.
Signed Log and replaces.

Enjoyed this one. That's a mighty big hole they are digging there... and guys out working over Easter? Let's hope they're finding stuff. It took a little while to locate this sucker but eventually reading through the logs gave us the clues we needed. Funny, once you know its there you can see it from quite some distance away. Found a small place to scribble our initials in the log book and we were on our way. Great hide. tftc.
Today was the last of our short trip over from Vic, so bogonghazy and I were keen to clean up round Victor Harbor and surrounds as much as possible before heading off for the journey home to Ballarat. This one was found, logged and returned in quick time, which was exactly what we were hoping for today. Thanks to bregor for the cache.
Found with Sully1 on our last day in Victor Harbour enroute to Ballarat today.
This was a terrific trip with great weather and friendly welcoming cachers to meet and greet.
A huge variety of hides had us on our toes, and a huge thanks to all the local cachers who provided the fun for us. Thanks again bregor

This one was on my list of nearby Strathalbyn caches.
After sometime, I still couldn't find the cache.
As I turned around, there it was neatly camouflaged but obvious if you looked.
Coordinates were pretty good after the GPS settled down.
Cheers bregor for an interesting hunt.

Wings were needed to retrieve this cache today! Short butterflies have trouble with caches ploaced up so high!
We didn't realise this mine has only been in operation for about 4 years. There was lots of banging and crashing coming from the site today. The cache was easily spotted but definitely not one for the vertically challenged to retrieve. Thanks for the information and for bringing us to this interesting site.
Been meaning to come up here for a look for years so trust a cache to finally bring me here. TFTC!
Sneaky little cache Took a while but finally found it. Different and worth a favourite. THFTC
Helping Mogni spend some time between work finish and a work meeting. Never actually stopped to have a look at this mine...until now. Yes...another hole in the ground leading to a tunnel! Thanks bregor.
Found on my wandering weekend with Hiluxury and Bon and Ben. Bon found it fairly quickly.

I searched for this one accompanied by the sound of what seemed to be a crushing machine. Fortunately there were not too many spots to hide a cache here.
I work just up the road and thought it was time a found this one. Not recommended to do in rain, the more I rushed the slower it rolled
Thanks
Thanks
You know how long ittook me to put that damn Log back in, in the dark?
FOREVER!!!
Mine must work 24/7?
Thanks for the stop, albeit in the dark

Found by Mary & David at 1610. We knew nothing about this mine at all. With your detailed description and the information boards we have learned something new. Our thanks to bregor.
Staying down at Strathalbyn with Goldrush Ballooning for a couple days over Easter + geocaching of course! We helped launch the balloons on the other side of here this morning & now we're on this side looking for a cache. A quick find especially being a nano. The rubber o-ring has perished & came off when we opened it. TFTC
Quick find Hethdil's keen eye had this one in hand quickly, didn't even know there was a zinc mine there TFTC
A really interesting place for a cache Insada5161 quickly had this one in hand and we signed the logged and I quickly had it back in place TFTC and for showing us such an interesting place.
Mr Tardis and Toddler Tardis stopped here on the way to the Port Elliot Seaside Event. So glad you placed a cache here as Mr Tardis didn't know about this viewing area. Toddler Tardis was most impressed with the two dump trucks full of Zinc that drove out of the mine. SL. Thanks for the cache bregor.
Found the cache on the way to Clayton for a day of caching and fun. We took awhile to find the cache but enjoyed the sightseeing while we looked. This mine is amazing. Thanks for taking us here!
I was driving back from a meeting at Murray Bridge, and had been past this many times thinking "I must stop and grab that one day!" So today I did it, I stopped.
I'd love to go visit the mine one day but I guess that'll never happen.
The coords took me straight to cache.

Nice stop for the cache. Fairly quite in the area - guess all the action is underground. A quick search and cache located. THE LOG IS TOTALLY FULL. I signed somewhere on the sheet. TFTC
The mine was so quiet today. IS it normally this quiet? The distant hum of fans, and the distracting noise of a bloody nano unscrewing. BN. SOS. BDTNFAEAWSN. Clear skies! Interesting spot.
Looked the other day with the geokids but couldn't spot it. Found today on return with help from the clue. Good One. TFTC.
FOUND IT !!! After 3 days of looking and 2 restless nights of sleep I finally got the little sucker. Very Sneaky Hide
Found at 15:50 whilst picking up a wardrobe nearby with Emily. I could say I didn't know this was here, but that's not really surprising as I don't think I've ever driven on this road before either.
Anyway, a worthwhile stop, even if it was for a nano

Day two of our holiday to Victor Harbor. Today it's the leg from Mildura to Victor Harbor via Renmark and Murray Bridge. Weather was very, very windy with a bit of rain as we got closer to the coast.
Our last cache for the day after around 5 hours of travel and a further 4 hrs of caching. A long day.
Cache found quickly while the Wench looked down in the hole.
Thanks bregor.

This is a great spot for a cache but it was a bit disappointing to find it was a nano. There's stackes of places to hide a lager container which trackables could go in.
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
Agree with comment before, lots of places to hide a larger cache. We adventually found it. Scroll is half full, have started on the back.
Although we had already set our sights for home and hadn't planned to do any more caches, we couldn't pass up this one which lay so directly to our route. Walked in from on high and then realised one of us would have to scramble down. Loud laughter erupted as my chauffeur realised there was an easy alternative entry! Crane2 spied the cache from above and gave directions to the little beast (the cache not her companion ), then a bit of throwing the cache backwards and forwards to sign the log and return it and it was soon back in position! Had no idea this mine was here and would have driven straight past it were it not for geocaching! Thank you. Cache #866.
Stopped by to collect a cache and was very surprised to see the view of the mine. Thanks for the cache bregor!
Knew there was a mine near Strath', but never knew exactly where, or that it was so big.
Found by B1, pretty easily for a Bregor nano, and muggled by D, ....almost!
(Those things are hard to find in the grass when you drop one!!!!)
Did find and replace after a little panic!
Thanks for bringing us here Bregor, probably wouldnt of found it without Geocaching!

Out for the afternoon on a quest to make 5000 finds by next Saturday. Started at Kanantoo and headed through to Strathalbyn. Found 27 for the day - only 9 to go now.
Took a little while but found in the end - not as big as Roxby. TFTC.
