Stretching out the muscles, very sore and tender.
Took the meandering hihi route, got back to road. Looks like I turned in too soon. Eventually got to gz, and there the cache was.
Just a couple of mountain bikers about.
Thanks for hide, mountain looks amazing

First to find since lockdown! Had real trouble trying to find the geocache but read between the lines! You’ll kick yourself once you find it if you were having a little trouble like me! Tftc!
We followed the gravel road to its end, before backtracking and going along one of the bike tracks which eventually led us to the cache which was then a quick easy find. At the cache we met a Yorkshire lady who had previously cached in the UK but not in NZ and was just out walking some dogs. We then returned via the bike tracks. TFTC
Had to come 'Rock It' with you. Walked around the Mountain bike track, changing tracks to get us to the cache. Luckily no bikes today to scare off. Finally got this one tagged. Cheers .
Day 12- Christmas Eve, Tuesday 24 December. Around New Plymouth again today.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

Taybeedragon and I walked down, following the road. Without the trails marked on the maps we did n't know if there was a more direct route or not. We may have walked longer than we needed to, but it was a nice pleasant walk none the less.
Day twelve of Taybeedragon's and my big 3 week circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki, starting from Palmerston North. Today is wandering about New Plymouth. Merry christmas!
Highlights:
* 3 weeks, 536 caches
* Mt Taranaki had been removed for washing, which was a bit of a shame. Even after it had been returned we were only allowed to see it for it was less than half an hour a day.
* High percentage of caches with crappy coordinates
* Amazing Pukekura Park
* AMAZING Pukekura Park light show!
* Pukeiti Gardens
* Lots of cache maintenance!
***[======== NZ Mega 2020 ========](http://nzmega.com)***
Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](https://coord.info/GC87777) - you won't want to miss it!

Didn't read the hint before setting out so took a bit longer to get to the cache than what it should have done. Would love to come back with my bike one day. Easy find, dropped TB. TFTC
Here to try the bike tracks, so warmed up with Kiwi to Hihi. Aha, a beep, 65 m that way, so we took a shortcut onto the road and followed it to the end. That way, but no geotrail... Mr D said he wasn't going there and suggested Mrs D better check the hint. Ahem! Mr D pointed out the obvious...! Essentials done, on the bikes again. Then Fantail, Slice of Heaven, Bates, check the map, on the road and back via Karore Tau and Pork Pie. Mrs D took the hop off and walk option for various drops etc of course! Then it started to rain, so we headed back damp and happy.
a walk in a graveless grave yard, then a awesome walk in the bush, lovely spot, TFTC
Hooned around the tracks today and finally had a chance to hunt this one down! Neat find! Not many caches out this way so good to be brought here! (-: thanks heaps!
Took a long time to find the cache phone gps put us crook. Lovely walk through the forest.

Took longer to find the right track than it should have.
Thanks mountain biking New Plymouth for putting in these tracks.
Two hours here today having fun with husband and two sons.

Out on very nice evening for a picnic and to get a couple of caches. Took a nice walk through the graveless cemetery then to the MTB trails. Dropped a TB. TFTC.
Haven't been here since before my kids were born 7 years ago - so awesome now with the mountain bike trails. We had a great time running the trails today as s family, then grabbing the cache. Swapped some swag. Retrieved the TB. Thank you for bringing us here and the cache.
Had an hour spare before school pickup so decided to go for a hunt close to home. Just started spitting with rain when we left the car but tree cover soon kept us dry. Cool track, will have to bring the bike with me next time. Alice TB not there. Left Moose TB. TFTC
Was intending to do the 'No Bodies' Cache this afternoon, but there were workers by the trees, so thought I would do this one instead, didn't take long before me and the geo dog found it, can see this would be a popular place in the weekends and in the evening, on the beautiful afternoon, it was just us, so enjoyed our walk in the shades of the forest, tftc ZL2UJS
Up early and out for some fun. Great day to be walking around the lake. Thanks so much for the cache.
After being foiled by another cache today that's terrain was surely going to put me in danger I was looking around for another one to do to keep up my fault caching streak and this was one that had been bugging me each time I drove past it. A nice walk even though I feel I may have taken the long way by following the bike track (whoops) it was nice to be amongst pine trees today. Followed the track out and found my way back. Now off home to get ready for Xmas. TFTC. Drop off off tb.
Found our way down to the inlet...... Then had to back track for the right path. But nicely hidden.
A nice walk dodging blackberries and gorse. A least we didn't have to dodge any BMXers. TFTC
A lovely morning, and a pleasant walk to a new cache - what could be better? Heard a grey warbler and a shining cuckoo, but alas no hihi. TFTC
Nice walk in from the meeting of the waters. This area bought back memories as I went to camp Huinga which was held back across the river many years ago
Took the long way home after the Mega. finding lots of caches in new areas. TFTC
Found with Casey2201. Decent walk here. Couldn't see the rocks to start with. Very cool place!
Went the round way to start and ended at a dam. Should have read the hint. Got within 6m of cache. Couldn't see two rocks. Then JayDubENT found them. Thanks for the lovely walk!
Nice walk and good hide, have been looking before but too many wrong turns last time, first official cache with luncheon4!!
It took me almost thirty minutes to get to the cache, 2 minutes to find it, and ten minutes to get back to the vehicle. I couldn't help remembering a phrase from a famous old 1970s computer game "You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike". It was like that here - MTB tracks going in all directions, zigging and zagging everywhere and only very gradually getting me closer to the cache. Several times I took a track only to find it veered off and was leading me in the wrong direction, and I then had to back-track. I discovered the good route back to the road as I was returning but the signage is so poor (read non-existent) that I don't think I would have found it going in. I enjoyed this one, a pleasant bit of exercise in the early evening before a long drive back to Wellington. Signed log, TFTC and it gets a favourite point.
Turned this into a D4.5 but balked at bashing through a steam and a wall of blackberry. Walking out took 20% of time of walking in. What a mission. Enjoyed looking for this, thanks. Great excuse for a little amble. This is what caching is all about.
Heading home from a day's back road trip Purangi, Whangamomona & Stratford, I thought I was leaving myself one short of 230, so Juty Bug & I stopped off here to grab this one just before dark, and the onset of rain. Building MTB tracks I'm sure you preferred to go round this rock rather than cut a track through it. Took the opportunity to check out the water intake, dam and fish race. Nice place. Turned out I'd miscounted and this was the tenth I grabbed today. TFTC
Woo hoo! Easy track and find if you come from the south / south east. We didn't.......! The dogs enjoyed the walk though!
Wow, did I make this one way more difficult than needed. I was on foot and tried to approach it with a bit of trail running from the lake side of the network. Ended up running for miles. I took the easy way back out along the forest access roads. Cheers for the cache.
Was looking forward to stretching my legs but cars a plenty at the parking spot & I didn't feel in the mood for dodging mtb's today..... will save for another time
Well thats a nice walk, looks like a good set of MB trails. Tftc Blenheim Bear
having trouble finding this one. Pretty sure we were at the right place. looked between the rocks but with no joy.
If there's a hard way to find a cache, we will do it. This time we ignored the directions to go down the gravel road and instead headed for the entrance to the BMX trails. Subsequently it took us about an hour and a half of climbing and sliding before we got to the actual hiding place. The woman half of the duo did the proper looking, and soon had the cache out from its hidey hole.
This was an awesome mini-adventure and great fun. Thanks for bringing us here, and thanks for the cache.

A great area for blackberries in March, but none in July! Good path to cache site tftc
After taking the wrong path and scrambling through scrub we were confronted with a cliff so time for plan B and nek minnit we found it. Found with moodle mum TFTC
Made real hard work of this one after seemingly approaching it from the wrong direction... But once back on the right path... An easy find TNLN TFTC
great walk through the tracks and trees with the kids, they loved it, easy find, tftc
a leisurely stroll with 85 year old Mum in Law. Go DOWN until the you get the 'stitch' HeeHee!.
thank you you bringing us here
thank you you bringing us here
Headed off down track and unfortunately took wrong path. A climb up and down the MTB tracks until I got to the right one. 1/2 an hour later cache in hand. TFTC
What a mission!
Parked at the cul-de-sac and set off.
Took the wrong track. A hard slog uphill was followed by a perilous steep descent down a sticky MTB track. yes, went ass over heels, ruining one of Xmas presents, a new t-shirt. Found the Mangamahoe intake and opened the gate that the gate said should only be entered by authorised persons. I had too many blackberry scratches to brook any resistance however.
Cache is cleverly hidden. Only became apparent how short this COULD have been as I walked back to the car with a smile.
Memorable!

My daughter and I did some trail running to find this one while having a few days in New Plymouth. We eventually found the right track after a couple of wrong attempts. The cache was found quite easily when at GZ (using the hint), but had absolutely no idea what the stitchbird hint meant. A really nice area to visit. Dropped off 'Subak Jjigae' TB. TFTC.
Had a nice jog with my father. I only fell over my feet once and landed on the floor, lovely surroundings
Cache is again accessible by foot or bike, on one of the remaining MTB tracks in the area. The council has completed their destruction of the forest and a lot of the easy MTB tracks to make way for a future cemetery.
This cache is inaccessible at the moment as the Council is logging in the area.
This cache is inaccessible at the moment as the Council have closed the access road while tree fellers do their damage. The area around the cache is still good, it's just the access to it that is not.
So near yet so far several times, as the crow flies. Finally found the track and the cache. no visitors for a while, left a TB.
TFTC and a good walk.
