It was a very hot day - a long walk up here. We searched for ages and came up empty handed - rang youngoldfella for a GZ description - pretty accurate, but there was nothing there.
We were in the park to place another new cache when I noticed in the log that Youngoldfella had been up here and replaced the missing cache. when I told my son he was really exited. Thanks Youngoldfella you made my sons day!! It looks like they have done a lot of work up here recently, perhaps they are not finished,if not we might need to move the cache a little further away from the coords . now it is a real easy walk to the top along the road, might need to reduce the terrain rating.
Well what a surprise when I parked the car at the locked gate. Discovered more as I walked but my first stop was at A view with Peel, which has just recently been published. There is 500 meters between the two and a valley.
There is now a road that goes all the way to the top of the hill that this cache is on. The road goes two ways and I am not going to spoil it by telling which track to take from the gate. There is plenty of parking and a seat at the top. Trick is if you do not have a key to the gate you have to walk. You can see the meandering road and it is a gravel 2WD road, but I just walked between the rising elevation of the road thru good grassy slopes.
I have replaced this one with an ammo tin and it is very close to the given co ordinates. < 3 meters difference. Sit on the seat and look to right at the rock wall and it is concealed about 45 degrees from there. On the edge under a rock surrounded by rocks. If you wish to bush bash you can but you can walk all the way on the road and the distance is a little longer but time wise probably the same.
Photos attached. I will send a separate email to the CO.

I have sent an email to the CO. I will check placement and replace this one tomorrow, 23rd, when I am back on top of Mt Peel.
From previous entry. There is another hide up there on the hill now. Is this one going to be replaced or archived, please. Looks like another hike up this now familiar hill.
Just spoke to a council worker who is working up there. He said that he had given the cache to some bush walkers as he was knocking down the tree where it was located. This cache no longer exits -- location needs to be updated/removed.

As the weather is becoming wonderful for hiking, we decided to start the season with a short walk into Mt Peel Reserve to find this cache! It's an easy walk now that the 'track' is a wide, gravel firetrail so we thought it's a shame the cache on Mt Peel has been archived, but in our case probably a good thing as we had the 4 geo-kids with us and it seems there's always one that decides the activity on hand is not for them - today it was the 2yr old! Thankfully we can just pick him up and keep on going - and so the fact it wasn't too strenuous and we didn't have to visit both peaks was probably a good thing!!
Up top we enjoyed the views and the well-stocked cache over a picnic morning tea. After giving the 2yr old his favourite food - an apple - we had a much more pleasant return journey down the hill
Thanks for a really enjoyable cache today - another place we would never have bothered to visit if it weren't for caching! [^]

Travelling around Australia in our Caravan with our cat.
Camped at the showgrounds with about 7 other Geocaching teams, discussion last night was around the Animal Alphabet challenge.
Plans were hatched to head off from camp at 8am to be able to claim a chalenge smilie.
After lunch Mr & Mrs Felix tackled some park n grabs to complete another day in Toowoomba.
Whilst this looked like a short 400mt walk its anything but. Think all up its over 2km but it is a great view and pics were taken.

Another day of caching around the Toowoomba area (part of the mass exodus of geocachers from Stanthorpe after the mega). Great hide and a beautiful countryside. Nice one Thanks to grahamf72.
A lovely walk along a blue metal track until the final 30m where I had to pick my way through the scratchy bush while wearing shorts. Great to log an ammo can while visiting Toowoomba. Thanks for the cache.
Being a 'trig hunter' for MANY years I was keen on attempting this geocache knowing that there was the additional trig to hunt for. As I had limited internet access while holidaying in Toowoomba I hadn't taken notice of the part about the tiger pear, and they are just as annoying as ever. When I got to the top I was 'greeted' by a new trail of crusher dust about 10m fro GZ. The cache was soon found, dry and intact.
Will add the various TBs of my collection when off the tablet.

The advice that I had that this cache was missing, was actually for my other nearby cache. This cache should still be ok.
Unfortunately I've been notified that this one has grown legs. Apparently there is broken glass etc near GZ so it sounds like the area has been found by some undesirable elements. Will replace in a couple of weeks - probably in a slightly different location to avoid the muggles.
Thanks for this graham72. Was my first cache and it was exciting.
No run ins with snakes but plenty of tiger bear around.
Happy easter!

After completing the Mt Peel cache we continued around as per the Toowoomba Bushwalks book. Thankfully at the moment the lantana isn't too bad, but it is such a shame these areas are so weed infested. Quick walk to the peak and yet another lovely view. Thanks grahamf72 for placing these two caches.
A wonderful walk today to find this cache. I'm really glad that I did it early in the morning and that there was a nice cool breeze as well. The cache is in excellent condition, although there were quite a number of spider's webs around it - I guess that it just needs to be found more regularly to keep the webs at bay. TFTC!
Interesting climb up. Need to wear good shoes or boots and long pants. There's lots of cactus hiding in the grass. Look out for ticks on your return too. This was a great second find for us
Found it with geokid and muggle friend. TFTC. Great view

A very exciting find after a long and scratchy walk/climb! Was really looking forward to this one and it didn't disappoint! With Angloj.
We were spending a caching weekend in Toowoomba and visited the local show grounds to check out the campsite there. This cache was nearby so we decided to tackle it. The geomut was eager for a walk too. All was well as we set off but all too soon we had to leave the track. The geomut was struggling, a bit concerned about the cacti he kept brushing past, so as we began the steep ascent Mr. Herbz picked him up and carried him across the rocks. We soon arrived at GZ and admired the 360 degree views. Then it was time to locate the cache, that looks like a likely spot and yes there it is. A nice big ammo can. Once back at the car we spent a very long time de cobblers pegging ourselves and the geomut! TFTC.
I cant believe the views from this place being so close to town, I decided to take the north pointing track and headed of and when I felt I was in line with the cache spot picked a trail through the cobblers pegs and headed in. There wa some cactus and prickly pear and kangaroos to keeping a good eye wandering what a stranger was doing passing through there territory. After mild rock scrambling and some wet waist high grass the summit was achieved and the cache was quickly to hand. Cheers to grahamf72 for this excellent cache:-)
Lost our almost 5 yr old geokid in the long grass but we trudged on and on and up and up the hill through the sticky beaks which hung on fir the ride and we found success thank u for the location as we enjoyed the view as we caught out breath

Out and about in Toowoomba again, on another mad Friday with teamdfl
Both of us like doing hill climbs so this one looked aPeeling A bit rainy, but that didn't deter us. From the parking spot we headed along the trail, then made a detour to tackle the hill. Not too strenuous, with a rock hop to finish off with. The cache was a quick find. All is in excellent condition. TFTC, grahamf72.

Out with IolantheK for a freaky Friday. I think the recent fire has made both the caches here much easier to access. We followed the track along for a while, then headed straight up to GZ. The lantana and other nasties are only just starting to grow back. A little rock hop to the top and GZ was easily found. The weather limited the view today, but we could still see a little way
GREAT CACHE no problems of muggles for this one. take your hiking boots for this one
Great views, and an easy ascent after fire slowed down lantana growth. Saw lots of roos, and worked off a bit of Christmas pudding on Boxing Day. Took TB. Thanks for bringing us up here.
Did the long walk for this one after doing the southern cache first. Picked a great morning for the hike with overcast skies to keep the temperature at bay.

New cache is in place, an ammo tin this time which will hopefully withstand any future fires. Left a traveler as well as a few bits & pieces for the kids.
A bit over a week ago this area was subject to a controlled burn. The good news is with a lot of the lantana gone it is much easier to get to gz. The bad news is the fire has completely destroyed the cache and all it's contents. I had a poke through the ashes at gz and couldn't find anything. But never fear, because I love this location so much a new cache will shortly appear, plus I will shortly move my nearby gca cache to gc.
Out for an early morning walk and another cache. A nice walk and not to difficult a climb. This is what Geocaching is all about, fresh air and a nice view. We note that there is no GC present. Cheers graham72.
Found with gaz and mat. Good climb recommend not to wear thongs. Thought we were going to get eaten by the wild life.
Out and about for my cache for the day.
A quick walk up the hill from the parking soon had me at GZ. It did get a little steep towards the end but was not difficult climbing. I arrived right on sunset. I do like the sunsets at the moment, some are quite colourful.
A quick find with the cache dry and in good condition.

Good views but took half hour to clean out socks and shoes of prickles. Better half still complaining tonight!!!
Arrived back at car in one piece but the younger Geo daughter nearly went to the bottom in a hurry. I thought my chiropractor might like to hear about this adventure without incident (but I won't tell).
Instruction given were very easy to follow. Thanks.

This is my very first geochache EVER!!! I am 15 years old and it was Amazing!!! I absolutley loved climing that awesome steep hill with my Geo Aunty and Uncle which introduced me to Geocaching. And I FOUND IT!!!
Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
Fangsoki, gaz'n'kab and I all made the trek to this one today. Carefully had to plan our route up the hill due to lantana doing it's usual thing, and even though we did, I regretted wearing shorts, as is evident by the state of my legs now. Was glad the D/T ratings were accurate and once at the top the view was great. Certainly favourite cache of the day. logbook signed, trackables swapped and soon was time to continue the shredding of my legs. TFTC, loved it.

This one was easily a personal favourite for the day. Gaz'n'Kab, Captain Terror, and I made our way up toward GZ. The weather had held out nicely for us so it was a pleasant walk.
I was very pleased to see the terrain and difficulty rating was very realistic for this cache. We finally got to the top and started our hunt. I looked in one area, while Captain Terror looked in an area where the cache was. It was in good condition. I dropped in a GC as well.
The views up here were stunning - I really enjoyed this one and I am glad we made the effort. TFTC grahamf72

Made a short visit today to check on this cache and also my GCA cache on the south peak. The lantana has really gone wild since I was last up here, so much so that I don't think the western approach would be possible anymore. Even the eastern approach was a bit overgrown and required a few bashes through.
Cache is still in very good condition. Dropped travel bug.

We have had this one on the to do list for quite awhile and happen to be in the area and what a great day it was to go for a stroll. After a steep climb we located the cache - Fantastic views looking back over Toowoomba. Took gemstone and left Australian Penny and TB. TFTC
Found with Bedmaker. Took the easy way up but decided to take another way down. Boy that Lantana can bite! Lovely views over Toowoomba from here. TFTC
Should we or shouldn't we go for this one.
It was getting late and we had to drive back to Brisbane yet. Yes it's only a few hundred meters.
We picked the easy way up... well for most of the way.
At the top I could see where the cache was less than 10 meters away but we'd hit a wall of lantana.
Good thing we where dressed appropriatley. We pushed through and finally had a clear couple of meters to the cache gz.
Saw the view, signed the log and then thought now what's the best way down?
TassieGirl suggested lets try over here.
Well it did lead down and most of it was ok but that Lantana sure does grow in the most inconvient places.
All in all a great little walk that didn't take that long at all.

I was cruising around towne picking up a few caches here and there this morning and getting a little bit wetter with every find
The GPS pointed me along a road that ended at the gate to an environmental reserve
Sitting in the warm dry surrounds of the geomobile I noted that this was not going to be a quick dash and grab in the steadily falling rain.
It was decided to leave it for another day.
A couple of minutes later I was wandering along the grassy trail headed for GZ
I never listen to meself !!
The last bit of the climb to the summit was out of the wind at least, so the rain was falling straight down.
On the summit I found some shelter behind a convenient tree while I filled out the logbook
I wasted no time in looking at the views (what views ?) and quickly returned back the way I had come to the geomobile.
Well, that was fun !!

Found at 1250. Parked geomobile at gate. I had a look at that small hill and the compass on my GPSr indicated 380meters in a straight line. I walked this line virtually to the west and after a short stroll up the eastern side of the hill the container was in hand. On my way out I took some notice of features. I walked up to the Green tank then headed in a westerly direction and came upon a marker stick ( green). I continued westerly and came upon a track that had a red and white steel pole on the eastern side of the track and an ordinary black star picket on the other side of the track. The walk to here is thru short easy to walk grass. From here it is only 100meters up the eastern side of the hill to GZ. If you look closely you can find the correct kangaroo pad to follow and there is very little Lantana and Prickly Pear to contend with and only a very small amount of rock clambering but it is very easy. Disturbed a couple of Eastern Grey Kangaroos. Photo is of the view from near GZ down the eastern side of the hill to the car park . I did not find this eastern approach difficult at all as I like bush walking and clambering and as I fount the other one some time ago this one is easy in comparrison but it is not too dificult either, just select the best path.
