Only found yesterday but we had no luck. A game going on nearby made us feel conspicuous so limited our search. Found a suspicious rock in a likely spot but no cache.
Headed over the hill again today with tmann421 to gather the remaining apple caches.Left Waikanae at 0630 in the dark so we could make the most of the daylight hours in the Wairarapa.Quick find hereSigned logs tm/ww NZTFTC
We had a lovely family picnic here on Boxing Day, catching up with some family members who I used to cache with before they moved overseas. We took a few of the mini-cachers to look for this cache but there were some muggles having a picnic right next to the GZ. We quickly identified the most likely hiding spot but had to leave the cache alone. I quickly grabbed the cache as I was leaving. As previous finders have mentioned, the cache is water-logged (did try to sign it though).*TFTC Skindo #1,015*
I've just been on a great geotrip with my friend thedbees. We'd been to the Palmerston North area to collect the Stickmen and Viking puzzles. We then came down to stay with another geocaching buddy in Greytown. She kindly drove us around that area before we set off to Levin via a few more specifically targeted caches. Then it was back north to Paihia with a stop over in Auckland.
We had completed the Railway AdLab and were aiming for the M series and collecting whatever caches were on the way. A bit of a muddy cache here after all the recent rain. Nice to get a non archived skindo hide. It's a lovely idea to plant trees to remember the soldiers. Thanks for all your caches skindo

Nice quick find here. Container was very muddy but the log is nice and dry inside. Found with lis'screw. TFTC
Tftc took a bit of hunting for this one. It was covered in dirt. Out with tash2494
I was over in the Wairarapa enjoying dinner with some geocaching friends when we got interrupted by the notification of a new cache in the area. There was very little discussion as to what happened next, as we collectively headed to what was a very familiar area. Turns out this was the rework of one of the now archived PWGT caches.
Once that was dealt with, as is the way, we checked the area for any other caches that members of the group had not found, and this one was on my list. Headed over here with Matagouri for a collective search of the likely locations and the cache was soon revealed, all safe and well.
Thanks to Skindo for placing this cache.
I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

Found after searching many potential hiding places. After sustained wet weather, many cavities filled up with water, but still dry inside the cache. Tftc!
This was a great location for a geocache search - such a great avenue of trees and the little one enjoyed the playground too
Thanks for the cache
Thanks for the cache
A quick find once at the site. A nice hide, all safe and dry, thanks for the cache and for bringing us here
No, but yes. While KR was off on other adventures I had a look but had to be sneaky with the pool so busy and people on the field too. After dinner I managed better with no muggles but plus KR. Awesome perfume from the lime trees. (Picture isn't a hint, I just wanted to remember the beautiful avenue). Thanks Skindo.
A nice quick find. I found the telltale stone and hunted more thoroughly. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off on our annual pilgrimage to Auckland to visit family. Today we Cruised from Lower Hutt to Greytown. Rain threatened but did not eventuate.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

The GPS gave me the run-around here and I walk right around the adjacent fenced off area getting the impression the cache was inside the fence. But after the circumnavigation is pointed me somewhere else and the cache was quickly found there. The avenue seems pretty noteworthy so thanks for bringing me to it with a cache.
Stopped over here and took a short walk from my car to this cache. I beelined for this one, it's a good hide. Rain was just starting to appear at this time - thankfully it didn't pour until I returned to Wellington. Tftc!

With (Mr) Davidson Clan and Gap (of Fap and Gap)… On a boy’s weekend roadtrip south. We’re relocating down the road today. So our base camp shifts to Carterton for the night…
We came here to make a start on the nearby AR cache. This hide will fit in nicely in the interim. Thanks Skindo and TFTC.

FapnGap and Squirel Nutcase and I have come away for the long weekend caching. Nice quick find here today cache is in good condition. Thanks for hiding the cache.
Day 1 Cache 3 of my mad mission to the Wairarapa for the 100-10-7 Challenge. Wet and rainy day today but cachers must carry on. The lovely Ethness has joined me as driver for the day. Signal all over the place for this one had both of us searching, but duly found. TFTC.
Wandering in Wairarapa between Easter and Anzac day. Another day trip. Today I went from Martinborough to Castlepoint via Greytown and Masterton. Found several hides along my way. This hide was one of them.
Straightforward find. All good here.

Hmmm, I have visited this area many, many times over the years that this cache has been present but somehow never thought about it being here and searching for it until today. Apart from one groundsman working out in the centre of the field the site was empty today which was perfect for me. It"s been a while since I found a Skindo hide. TFTC
Last find for the night, its been a long day, but it is not over yet, as I need to drive to Palmerston North.
Made my way to GZ and was soon signing the cache. Stopped to look at the memorial stone too.
Thanks Skindo for this hide, one of Remembrance

Decided to drive to the beautiful Wairarapa and pick up a few caches today. The coordinates were spot on for this one. Easy find. TFTC
Staying at the campground next door, had a look for this after a swim. We overlooked it at first, we actually looked almost at it, then spent another 10-15 minutes searching around before relooking in the right place - duh!
Thanks!
Thanks!
We found the cache closely guarded by a large colony of slaters. It's a lovely avenue, we went for a walk around this park and admired all the trees. Tftc!
Wow!So, sveppi and I just came back from a 2-week holiday in the South Island. We don't geocache much anymore but I took the time to find a few during our road trip. Some were logged live using an app, some were saved offline for later logging, and some were found with the Garmin. Now that I am home in Porirua and uploading the drafts off the Garmin to log the last few caches, I find this draft that is over a year old!Well, I remember the hide, the search and the find, but can't remember what occasion took us to the Wairarapa that day (we go there often) and why we stopped there. I think we were staying in the nearby campground and went for a walk (!?). Anyways, I still deserve the belated smiley!
This area looks familiar, i have a feeling i may have tried to find rhe cache years ago, no problem with it today. Thanks Skindo

Fantastic extended caching weekend with evilC! After we enjoyed dinner in the park and collected the required information for the multi, we set off to find this one. It was pretty dark by the time we got anywhere near gz, and it took us unsurprisingly long to find... evilC located it where I am sure I already looked... TFTC!!
Decided to camp nearby for the night and had to add this nice lil find to the list. Cheers
Having found this on Fathers' Day last year, it was a quick retrieve for the others today.

It's Valentine's Day today.
What should a good Husband do?
* Spend it with his @WonderfulWifey?
* Or go away on a 'date' with two of her three other 'Husbands'?
The date won out (sorry darling!) and BoardGamesHusband, StaycationHusband, and RealHusband convened for an assault on archived Skindo caches in the Wairarapa (plus a couple of PWGT and other randoms thrown in for good measure).
To try to claw back some W.A.F. points, we did take SkyCraneKid (FKA. EtherMaster) along for the trip. Not sure if it was sufficient though...?
> log signed as TECatS (for TwigNZ, Etherlord Clan and the Seagnoid)
Thanks Skindo for all the caches you have placed, and growing this hobby in New Zealand!

Pretty avenue. Have you noticed how many urban streets are called avenues and yet are not avenues?
Teamed up with Etherlord and Ether Master from the Etherlord Clan and TwigNZ, for a raid in Skindo land. We arranged to meet in Masterton, swapped into one car and headed south. The aim was to get the 5 PWGTs south of here, and to collect Skindo's achived caches, especially puzzles, along the way. although we did get a few others as we were "just passing".
But time conspired against us. Or maybe it was skindo himself, as we only got 50 caches, and only as far south as Greytown. We have made a tentative plan to be back in a couple of months to to come back and work this area again.
All logs signed as TECATS - TwigNZ, Etherlord Clan and the Seagnoid.

Having been over here in the Wairarapa only a few weeks ago, I wasn't expecting to be here again so soon. But the chance to have a whole day out caching with friends was too good to miss. Between us we hatched a plan to get as many archived Skindo caches as we could, and any others we were going to be driving right past. My main roles today were as driver and searcher, whilst happily leaving the navigation to the others who were able to use their GPSRs and programs other than the official app to see the caches I couldn't.
My apologies for the generic logging, but anything notable will be commented upon. For convenience all logsheets today were signed TECATS (for TwigNZ, Etherlord Clan and The Seagnoid) regardless of whether any 1 of us may have already have found a cache on a previous trip.
We were specifically in this area to look for the nearby PWGT cache, but seeing as this one was so close, and the fact that one of our party had found it only a short time ago, it was always going to be an easy find here today. There were no issues with this one so the log was quickly signed and the whole thing was replaced as found.
Thanks for placing this cache.

The avenue of trees were standing straight in line like soldiers. No problem with the find once the carpark was quiet and muggle free TFTC.
This us a quiet tidy area of Greytown. We are really enjoying it. We are still heading south so got to move on. Thanks for the placement skindo
Found this quick enough. So many fallen soldiers, so many memorials, so sad for so many families, robbed of their young men, and some women. Hopefully we don't go through wars like this again, tftc.
Quick find here on our way back to Martinborough. Cache was found in the first place we looked.
Had an invitation to join friends for lunch in Greytown after attending a family event nearby this park, luckily we had time to look for one cache, so this was it. Hunted on instinct as under trees, but cache soon in hand. This place has a special memories for our family. TFTC
Visiting Masterton for a week of work. Had some spare time to head out and collect some nearby caches. Great old trees. Thanks Skindo for the smiley.
Nice hiding spot! The Avenue certainly puts the loss to the community into perspective!
Today is my second-to-last Dot-Day of the calendar.
Today is also Fathers' Day and the whole extended EtherClan is meeting at a Cafe in Greytown for a family lunch. What better way to tick off a dot-day than with a cache outside of my normal search radius?
Having enjoyed the company and the food, and a spot of window shopping, it was time to head home - with one detour!
Not only will this help me tick off another Dot-Day (just one more to go!), but it fills a hole in my Jasmer Grid.
Thanks for placing this cache, Skindo.

Cache was wet. So replaced the plastic bag and dried out the logs. Cache in good condition now. Tftc
After two nights in Hastings, my Muggle wife and I were in Greytown for a few days. I got some time off for good behavior, so I grabbed a few not too far from our hotel. TFTC.

Thanks for the cache! Signed log book, log books a little damp and might need a new bag around it
Visiting Greytown for the 2019 Gray family reunion. Kiwi spent plenty of time here as a child including attending the nearby Greytown school for 6 months. Much of the main street has changed considerably from his childhood and is barely recognisable.
Kiwi keen to show Kiwiscot the park he spent many hours playing in as a child. Had to pick up a cache while here. All good. TFTC

We were staying in Upper Hutt for the week over Easter break and todays main objective was Skindo's numbers run from Hinakura to Gladstone. Now that that is done were heading to Greytown with whatever daylight is left to grab some high favourited caches. It was already dark but we thought that would make it easier not having to worry about muggles and we were right. A nice easy find here. I think that will do for the night. Thanks for the effort involved in placing and creating this cache for all of us to enjoy.
Was hunting when several carloads of teenagers screeched into the neighboring car park. I thought it prudent to retreat along the Avenue of Limes!
Came back later in the day, approached from a different direction, and went straight to it! TFTC.
8003. Iris and Raewyn were crafting today so I went off geocaching alone. Found fifteen altogether. This was number fourteen. Took way longer than it should as the gps was playing up under the trees. Thanks. Rodney.

During our holiday in New Zealand we have visited both the North and the South Island. We saw a lot of highlights of this beautiful country, but there is so much more to see. So many highlights, so many caches! The geocaches showed us a lot of special and interesting places. Sometimes a quick find, sometimes we had to search longer. A few DNF's, but that doesn't matter. We loved New Zealand and we hope to come back some day!
Today we have found the cache "Avenue Of Remembrance (Wairarapa)".
skindo, thanks for creating and maintaining this cache!

Wanted to do this cache as it is really great that the community did this to remember the boys that lost their lives. Easy cache and thanks CO for setting it.
Found while staying in the local campsite.....to be recommended. Does no-one in New Zealand have a pen? We’re yet to find a cache with one in!
Day 8 of my road trip for WENZ Mega. Out with Downsouthinv and AnnieLin today.
I've seen avenues of oaks, but not limes.
The shortest in our group found without much trouble.
Thanks for the smilie Skindo.

WENZ is New Zealand's 5th Mega Event ever and for months I have been anticipating in attending it. It is the first Mega Event that I have ever attended and sadly I could only come for one day, so early on Saturday morning my father and I got in the car and drove our way towards Upper Hutt for a hectic day of geocaching. In the end it was a spectacular day where we managed to found 67 geocaches somehow throughout the whole day, see a lot of new faces, catch up with friends and just have an altogether amazing time.
Our one day at WENZ is coming to a close, so I planned to find quite a few more geocaches while we made our way back home to keep putting my numbers up. We found 9 geocaches on the way home and a couple geocaches that were much needed to complete the 11 geocache types in one day.
We had planned to find a few geocaches in Greytown before finishing up and heading home. There was a couple geocaches I needed for my 11 types in a day and a few geocaches that I had set out to complete today.
We were now headed towards a night-cache that was located near Greytown and we made a quick (not really) stop here to find this geocache along the way. This geocache turned out to be much harder than I had anticipated and I ended up looking for quite a while. My father was getting a bit impatient so he came out to give me some help so we could be on the move. He pretty much found the geocache instantly; I had been looking in the absolute wrong place the whole time. After feeling dumb for about a minute I went over and grabbed the logbook out so I could sign it and we could be on our way. TFTC, it is always good to find a geocache that makes you feel embarrassed or dumb, it helps to know that you have to look everywhere!!

Mr 7 and miss 6 were a bit too short so I got the joy of finding this one. A nice easy find.
#719. GB Leader and I have spent today on a caching spree, starting in Featherston, then doing the triangle to Martinborough, Carterton and Greytown, and finally (as the wind starting really whipping up), back to Featherston. There were some really tricky and quirky caches around. Great fun! Final tally for the day: 23 finds (a new daily record for me), 3 DNF’s and one “not sure.”
Nice easy find. A shame I could not find any memorial listing the names of the 117. Apparently each tree used to have a wooden plaque commemorating a soldier, but these have long since disappeared. A poignant place, considering the recent cententary of many of the "Great War" battles.
Thanks for bringing us here, Skindo.

After a few false starts this afternoon, we finally got ourselves to an area with caches, and none of those caches were too far up trees for us to access. We had a bit of a wonder around here, looking for possible spots, and Mr 3Prettys had gone so far as to get the walking poles out of the car for poking around in the piles of autumn leaves. Miss 3Prettys had run off to swing on the swings, so I picked a nice spot to start my search and was rewarded with a black V container!
Thank you for the hide and for bringing us to the avenue.

After staying at Greytown campground we decided to visit this historical park and combined it with geocaching. It was a nice easy find, which is for our family account. Thanks for this nice cache.
So interesting to read about the Lime Trees Avenue of Remembrance!
In Wellington for Easter Holiday.
We all drove up here in the dark before dawn to see the Hot Air Balloons taking off....
Was toatally amazing!
Bonus to find 3 caches here!

After finding a couple of other caches in town we were heading back to Barnaby at the Greytown campground and detoured to look for this cache. It was a nice easy find and as the previous finder had said, the log sheet was full, as was the previous sheet in there as well. So I've added a couple more waterproof paper log sheets (space for over 100 signatures if people write small enough) and popped the old logs plus new into a new plastic bag in the cache as well, just to be sure.
Thanks for another cache skindo and pleased it wasn't under a brace .

Number 2 on our wander with benyeoman and the 5 micro cachers, a few webs blocked retrieval but the constructors were not at home. TFTC, we really liked the tree tunnel
I took my youngest son up to Wellington in the camper van. I dropped him off at his friend's house where he will stay. Meanwhile I get to geocache and be on standby.
I stayed in Martinburough last night and will be staying at Greytown, spending another day in the Wairarapa.
I had to disturb a spider web with a stick to find this one.
