WEIRD a gate in the middle of a paddock it may be a physiological barrier for the cows... maybe....
Aptly named cache, and another piece of history which might otherwise go un-noticed. Thanks for placing this.
Caching in a motorhome has its parking challenges but this one was most suitable.TFTC
For my last day in Dunback I decide3d to try for the caches West and East of here. Was there a station here too in the olden days?Cheers for the cache, Bitsprayer.
Day 6: The Road to OamaruTodays journey was a long one, bringing us from the South up to the northern part of Otago, via Middlemarch. Todays blustery conditions added to the fun and challenge of finding caches, though otherwise the weather remained perfect. The highlight of the day were the Sutton Salt Lake cache and the Moeraki Boulders, and both did not disappoint. Thanks to all the COs for making this leg of the journey an enjoyable one! (End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for this cache:A rather interesting set of structures here indeed. I wonder why the land owner just left them there heritage value perhaps? Anyways, the find here was a quick one and wow, the temperature has really climbed from the windswept wilderness of the Strath Taieri. TFTC!

Found on a nice drive in the area. Enjoying the caches on a stunning day today
After spending time (and caching) in Ranfurly and Naseby I was now heading via the Pig Root to North Otago. Picked up a few caches along the way. This one was a quick find. #4966. TFTC.
I wasn’t sure if it would still be here, given that it has been over a year since the last log. The hint let me go straight to it. One log is pretty wet but another was ok to write on. TFTC
Went out today with the aim of changing green boxes on the map to yellow, but unfortunately a few blue popped up too. Most of our finds were nice and simple, but a few took a bit of time.
A nice easy grab here. tftc

We are on our summer holiday driving around the South Island with no real idea of where we will end up each day. We are often drawn to an area that has the potential to give us a few geocaching smilies and somewhere we have not spent time exploring before. In some cases we are revisiting placed that we have been before but liked so much we are going there again.
The domain looked as though it could do with a bit of TLC or maybe they are intending on making hay.
The cache was an instant, the log was absolutely sodden and I could not sign it, I returned as we had found it. Sorry we did not have any spare logs left so we could not replace it for you.
I have never seen a stay like this one before.
Thank you for placing the cache and thank you for the smiley

Out for a jaunt with Frame Family on Labour Weekend. A gorgeous afternoon to take some time out. No problem finding this one. TFTC
A day trip out this way to clean up a few caches. Such great country we have around us. I forget how lucky we are to be so close to it. TFTC
I had no reception here so dashed out expecting this to be magnetic but.... All ok thanks Bitsprayer
A quick find on a gorgeous day. Thanks so much for all these caches. Really enjoying the trip.
Woke up in my stone cottage Airbnb in Ocean Grove to find that it had yet again rained overnight. But the dawn was crisp and clear so another day to look forward to with dry shoes and socks. If it carries on like this, I would have packed extra shoes and my wet weather gear for nothing. But I’m not complaining, I’m utterly sick of all the rain we have had over winter in the Manawatu.
Heading from Dunedin through the Pig Root to Alexandra for the day. Very excited, I did spend a lot of time driving this route when I lived in Oamaru and it is one of my favourite parts of the country.
I've always had a bit of a giggle about this lone gate in the middle of the paddock. A quick find here and I'm on the way to the next one. TFTC

Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day 7 of our road trip to the Oamaru Geofest, taking the scenic route, of course. Today we are travelling from Dunedin to Oamaru, via Middlemarch.
Must have been useful at some stage in its life. A good use of old materials. TFTC.

After watching the all blacks win the world cup, my muggle friends and I were buzzing and as it was a nice day we decided to go to St Bathans via the pig route as a fun road trip to get some sun and take advantage of this long day.
Heading for home (CHCH) after a lightening fast daytrip to Ranfurly for a family funeral. No time to grab any caches on the way in this morning...trying to grab a couple on the way back.
Quick find and sign in the rain. Cheers.

Quick find on our way home from our holiday in Central. The gate is well maintained by the farmer, quite a landmark. Thanks for the cache.
Thanks to all the owners of the geocaches that we found today on our way from Naseby to Ranfurly, Palmerston and Moeraki. We had a beautiful day with a lot of found caches!
TFTC and greetings from Belgium.

Day 3 of our 5 Day end of year geocaching trip. Today was our biggest day with 75finds and 4DNFs with most of them being park and grabs. A quick park and grab here. Lots of condensation in the container so the book was a little damp. Nothing it cant survive though. Sorry for the late log but Thanks for the cache [purple]Our cache find: #3259[/purple] | [green]Cache of the Day: 31/75[/green] | [blue]Cache of our trip: 98/235[/blue]
Quick trip to holiday home out caching on the way with shcsjaffadoe. Quick park and grab. Often looked at this odd lone gate too as I have passed and thought what a strange sight. TFTC
Find #86 on a road-trip from Blenheim to Dunedin, through St Arnauds, Hamner Springs, Aoraki/ Mount Cook, and Christchurch. Odd to see that old railway gates are still standing when their railway has disappeared. TFTC
