Third find for the day after picking up 2 others nearby. Found quite easily again. My luck soon changed. TFTC.
Found the first place I looked during my second search. The distance in the hint (as recounted in other logs) is, ah, a little exaggerated.
Took quite a bit of searching even with a pretty specific hint. Good area with the hotel.
This cache was the fourth one attempted this morning having previously been thwarted by muggles at the first two locations in Northcote and then at the third location being concerned to look too closely on large rusty metal things for fear of dirtying my uniform, not a good way to start work, at one of Iamapom's caches. As I approached GZ a likely hiding spot was identified but the constant flow of muggle traffic and a gentleman that seemed to be waiting in a nearby bus stop for what may well have been an imaginary bus. The youngest member of the team decided to head to work and return after her shift to pick this one up. Upon arriving back at this location the cache was soon in hand and the log signed.
Took Nothing, Left Nothing

YAEMC, and required a little stroll about to locate (adnittedly with the aid of josiey who has been at GZ before). Gee PANCH has changed. TFTC
I was out dropping off the battle cache into the correct grid and i decided to go and do an easy couple of cache while out with the kids. This was one of those caches in the area, but on a busy road i had to watch out for the cars more than I had to watch out for the kids.
We searched for a bit and couldnt find it and the GZ was pointing to the other side of the path. We resorted to using the hint to pick up the cache, which was found soon after. I'm not sure what this cache is showing me ??? and it definately wasn't a drive by, but happy for the cache all the same. Thanks glyn.

Checked in here and noticed a cache conveniently located out the front.
Wandered down later on with nobody about and found it hidden neatly away.
Thanks for the cache.

Young raffa27815 wanted to grab a quick cache while we were out and about so this fitted the bill. TFTC
I was expecting to have to search for this one but it was just sitting there. Was in work clothes so I looked like the gardener. TFTC.
The first find of the day, hard to avoid muggles in such a busy spot. A good find to begin our caching adventures today. TFTC!
Found by caughtatwork at 13:20 on 12/06/2011
Another quick and easy find today with very good co-ords placing me at the right location for the find. There was no-one around, even on the road, maybe everyone is on holidays.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks G2- for this cache here today.

I often stay here when I come to Melbourne, and over the years not many caches have been near this location. The closest one that I had previously found was one out front of the nearby tram terminal which is no longer active. So after waking this morning at 5am on a dark and cold Melbourne morning, I placed the GPS by the window and found that this one was only 15 away, as the crow flies, however a bit further from level 6, taking in consideration the ride down in the lift . So I went off on an early morning hunt, finding this one and The Phantoms Skull Cave. At least there are still a couple of others within a kilometer from this location, to find next time, thanks.
I had decided that today was the day to knock off the three closet caches to home, which had all been hanging around for a while. This cache an one other had been the end of my caching days in a row run late last year, so I think I have been avoiding them. Despite the intermittent rain today, It was bright and sunny when I pulled up to try this one. I carefully and calmly read both the description, hint and recent logs, trying to get something out of them I hadn't the last time. No thing. After three tours of the front and back of the garden bed, I eventually found it, quite buried. I am amazed it was dry. I have a feeling that either the hint was written by a midget with a wonky ruler or the cache might have moved. I'll let the owner (or his Australian partner in grime) make that decision. Thanks for the cache Glyn and Roger.
Found 14:55, after invoking our phone a friend option [:B]

We found this cache today at 5:00pm as the 10th of 12 on our Easter Saturday Easter Rabbitto Ramble. This one took a couple more minutes to find than it possibly should have as the spot was quite logical. Thanks from D, HA & A B-A.
Not where I expected. After reading some logs deanchenz found it quickly. High muggle activity. Tftc tnlnsl.
Searched around for this for about half an hour and couldn't find with logs or hints. Hasn't been logged for a couple of weeks so just wanted to make sure it was still there?
Not exactly where I thought it would be, by eventually found it. Still can't work out why its called "top of the hill?". TFTC
Found after a yum cha lunch nearby. Followed advice from previous logs and found it from behind and then snuck around the front to grab. Tftc cheers
#178. Easy find, not so easy to get to unnoticed with all the traffic around at rush hour. Ended up taking the advice from one of the previous logs in order to log the find. TFTC.
Found and logged on Saturday morning, January 22. Tried first to get it from the streent side but eventually took a "different" approach. I have been staying in the Rydges Hotel on business and had to get this one before I left. It was a bit hard for me to "convert" the hint but eventually got it. TFTC. The plastic bag protecting the log was a bit large for the container size so I replaced it with a small ziploc bag.

This cache announced the end of my 'caching days in a row' attempt, 26 was heaps anyway, 50 is just going to be too hard. No cache could be found in either the clue location or any of the locations as indicated by previous finders, at least with me looking anyway.
Found it (eventually) the clue had me out by 100 times. 80mm would be more acurate.
The cache is safe and alive..
This is what happens to an old hospital. (PANCH)

15-01 8th find of the day at 11:59 and 1222nd find in total.
Got here & decided to crack the hint so as not to raise too much suspicion which sure helped but we would love to see your measuring device. Cache creep?
Took us a while to work out the significance of the name, we sure aren't the smartest cookies today.
(''\(OoO)/'') Thanks glyn(the only one) for the caching fun!

Geoson and I tried to find this for 15 minutes or so. The clue seemed pretty specific, and if accurate, I don't see how we could have missed it. But of course, it wouldn't be the first time.
Thanks G-2 & BackPAQer - We'll monitor the cache to see if we were just too dumb!

Struggled up to the top of the hill, crossed the road, and a quick find.
Thanks, Robmc.
Thanks, Robmc.
Once I found a car park I had no trouble finding this one, it was just sitting there in plain view. Thanks G-2 & BackPAQer for the cache.
After unsuccessfully searching in the obvious spots, we finally found the empty container on the ground amidst rubbish. We filled it with a new log sheet in a plastic bag (sorry, didn't have a spare zip-lock bag with us) and hid it in a location that seems to match cache notes and previous logs.

Found in the company of Alansee. I think we were lucky with muggles, and the find was made without incident.
Thanks, glyn(the only one).
Thanks, glyn(the only one).
Listmaker is being very generous here - after I had previously DNF'd it she found it in about 10 seconds! Mind you - it is rather less than the hint says it is. Thanks to Glyn (the only one) for the hide.
5th of 18 finds for the night while out caching with Coverthypnosis. Hint was a bit out but found the cache after a quick feel around. TFTC.
Drove past to find a muggle at the stop. Parked the car and came back to find the muggle had gone. GZ had us on the other side of the case. Looked at the clue and still it did not help, a least we had the right side. Did not have a tape measure but looks more like 200mm. TFTC

A quick stop off on the way home and this closest unfound to me is unfound no longer.
One of my sisters was born near here but I can't remember ever going inside.
Cheers G-2 & BackPAQer, thanks for bringing back memories.

How good is it to have a cache not 60m from your hotel room? Kept our Victorian streak going for another day with a reasonably quick find. Knee high is more accurate indeed, well below the waist of an 11 year old!
Thanks!
Thanks!
I'm guessing that the cacher is shorter than I; would say the description "knee"-ds updating TFTC
Found 12.20pm
We were very glad to find a parking spot just round the corner from GZ. Once there we searched around before resorting to the hint, the cache was then a quick and easy find.

Cache #1 found on a Sunday afternoon cycle. I remember when this big building on the top of the hill was PANCH, now it seems to have multiple purposes. Thanks G2 and BackPAQer.
In town for a calesthenics concert today and a visit to a witch doctor just down the road tomorrow so where better to stay than here. How convenient - a cache right at the front door.
While the Wenches did their happy dancing I wandered around the district and found a few caches. This was the first for the area and it brought back many memories from the recent past. I spent a bit of time in the blue building across the road being trained in home dialysis prior to a kidney transplant in '08. Many an hour was spent plugged in to a dialysis machine and staring out the window watching the new hotel and associated buildings being built.
Thanks Glyn (and Roger for looking after the cache)

A few muggles nearby waiting for something, but stealth and the cache was in hand. T4TC

3rd attempt. Today a quick catch after reading all the logs and the hint carefully again. TFTC
This is a drive by definitely but where to park with traffic pushing you "Over The Hill" . Ended up with a 100m walk and a quick find at 3:55pm. Needed some shelter to sign the log out of the rain. TFTC.
While out on a shopping trip, I thought I'd drop by on this one to open the account for September. It had me going for quite a while before I finally nabbed the find at 20:40. The liberal reading of the hint helped a bit but boy, you guys must be short . I'm surprised it hasn't been muggled yet but then again, it took me a good 10 minutes to find so there you have it .
TNLNSL, although a coterie of our geocoins had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks G-2 & BackPAQer.

5th for the night and a quick find with a few funny looks from muggle walking past. TFTC.
Found it this afternoon - yay !! No homemade weapon discovery this time. Thankfully. Walked straight to it this time, after hunting for it for ages last time.
Mrs Iamapom's Grandfather passed away in the building when it was a hospital. So maybe his ghost has been watching the logs, and helped me out.

1st of 5 caches late this afternoon. 800mm? Perhaps you are unsure about the conversion rates of mm to cm, more like 80mm (or 8cm). Had me looking elsewhere until I found the easy little cache, thanks!

Found at 8.50am. Out and about to day on a well planned caching day with xambo4u. Had a look at this one on its first day and couldn't see it. Today looked there again and it was. Easy find today.
8.50 Out and about with 80 degrees, this one was our second for the day. We were a little worried as 80 degrees had already been here once without success. Today was it was a simple walk up and pick up. Suprised that it was still there as it was in full view we reset in a safer manner. This area brings back my memories of when my mother lived here.
Thanks for the cache

quick find on an arvo of caching with Dunko Looks like Squalid is in the area TFTC SL
It is a well hidden little cache but the clues take care of the rest and prevent you looking too far afield.

Found today with Reesylou who swears she'd looked there the first time.
Anyway, another pair of eyes always sees it a little differently, and the cache was found within a minute.
Oh, Reesylou did find an old phone if anyone's missing one.
Thanks again to G-2 & BackPAQer FTC, SL

Found with bogonghazy in a place I swear I looked last time. Well hidden litttle cache!
I was driving past today, so stopped off to check if it is still there. Yep, exactly where I found it!
The hiding method reminds me of a cache named "Cornered", in Commercial Rd, Prahran.
Don't let the DNFs put you off attempting this one, it's quite easy really!

Ok so we checked, poked, prodded, reached here & there & everywhere with no luck. Read notes again (thanks for your suggestions Pwags!) & found perfect location where no stretching or reaching is required but nowhere was it to be found! Mmm...could it have been removed by those firemen???
Even with the clue I had no luck today. Enlisted the help of the three year old and we both clambered under, on, behind around the area. Expanded our search to the bus stop, and anything else we could think of within about a 10m radius, but came up empty-handed
Hmm not sure what to do with this one, with the comments from others it may not be a good place it seems.
I'm surprised that nobody else has found this one yet. As the only lucky finder, can I suggest that there is no need to reach into places that you can't see, nor no need to climb behind or under any objects at GZ. The cache can be easily reached without any contortion necessary. Glyn - my advice is to leave it for a while and see what happens.
Sometimes geocaching just get's seriously weird !! Seriously, seriously weird.
While hunting at this GZ at about 2pm - I found a homemade dagger in the bushes behind the bus stop. What sort of person stores their illegal weapons in a very public spot where kids or cachers could find them ?? [:(!] For fairly obvious reasons I couldn't leave it there, and handed it in at Northcote Police Station. The constable there assured me that it will be destroyed with other illegal weapons, and commented that it looked like a prison type homemade knife. It's still and illegal weapon. I would hate for it to be used in a robbery or for a cop to be on the business end of it.
(See photo)
Oh yeah DNF. Might have to ask for owner for a help on this one.

Was interested to read iampom's log. Having lived in the area all our lives and this unfortunately doesn't surprise us. Even though we investigated placing caches nearby we then dismissed the idea just as quickly. One needs to remember to be careful when finding and placing caches and think carefully about everyones safety!!!
*FTF* 5/8/10, 10:35am. What an amazing morning, picking up 4 FTFs in less than an hour, woo-hoo!
I parked around the corner and wandered around to GZ, where there were others waiting for a bus. I did the same thing, and after a few minutes of poking around I had the little container in my hands. Once again, stealth is the key here. Cheers!
