Today we headed out for an adventure from Forth. Our aim was to visit the Paloona Dam, Lower Barrington and Sheffield for caches we didnt have time for last time we were in the area.Took us a while to locate the correct hint item despite the detailed history hint. Once the correct hint item was found it was a fast find and sign. Really enjoyed our walk here. TFTC
Thanks for the cache beetles2.Really enjoyed the walk along this track with my two GeoGSP's. It was grey and overcast, but after the last two weeks of clear sunny skies, it was almost a relief. Cache was found in the first place I looked and was in good condition.
Thanks for the great trail and cute cache. Doing this with my youngest daughter and it's good to find one that's just challenging enough without being excessively hard as some of them are.
Solved a lot of the nearby puzzles in this area recently so today we set off to find them all.
Along the way we spied this cluster of traditional's so we parked up and went for a walk to find them.
We really enjoyed our stroll beside the river watching the water flow by. It was certainly peaceful.
Once at GZ the cache was easily found and all was good with it.

Have only now got our act together to log this along with three other traditionals and a puzzle cache on the walk down to the Paloona Dam. We did enjoy the walk on a perfect walking day without another soul in sight, and the well placed and well stocked cache. We were careful to do as the hint suggested. Thankyou bettles2.
Thanks for replacing and maintaining this cache. Love your trademark ladybirds.
Looked in a couple of likely spots before making the find.
Hi, and thanks for the cache, found with AlbyDangles on a caching weekend based at Gowrie Park, after transporting some Venturer Scouts to their statewide 'Venture' at Arm River Camp last night.

Thanks for the adventure.
Cheers, EPs.

Up from Hobart for a few days for some R&R before Lady membsec becomes out of action for a few months later in the year! This is probably our last real caching day in the area! The weather has been fantastic and we have enjoyed travelling around some of the local country roads.
Enjoyed the walk into this one. It was probably the third place we looked before we put our hands on the container. Nicely hidden and a nice size container.

Parked up and set off on the MTB to these few caches, quick find here and it was easily found
Today I set out to clean up some caches I had missed up in the Mersey valley and central coast area as well as visiting some new locations, with the mtb in the car it made it easier to get to some places to reduce the longer walks. Seems like I am cooking up to this area every few days lately.
A nice day out with just over 20 finds.

Found cache today laying out in the open and the contents were very wet. Have taken it home to fix and hopefully it will be back in the game in a few days.
An extra pair of eyes helped with this one.
Searching for caches today, to complete the mystery at the museum challenge. Managed to find all but one of the caches today! Woohoo!
Found, and became very impressed with all of the ladybird swaps. The logbook was quickly signed, and the cache was put back into its hiding spot.

Tricky tricky clue . We were looking in the wrong log . Great stash and an awesome walk TFTC
Cache #2 along the trail. A mountain bike would be great for this. Quick pick up after tackling the ferns and spider webs. TFTC
Searched one location and couldn't find it .... but spotted another spot and kids were happy, tftc
Another amazing cache full of awesome swaps. Thanks so much for all your effort. We took a lady bug yo yo and left a ladybug and cherry rubbers. Off to continue our quest and find other caches along the trail.
Nice hide so many lady big things, I brought a lady bug rock so was nice to have something to trade it with.

Enjoying this track of caches with my boyfriend, auntie and two little cousins
Hi there beetles2.
We found your cache **"Ladybird Trade"** at 12:49:00 PM today. (This makes our grand total 18968).
We are camped in Ulverstone for a couple of nights, and today we headed to Lake Paloona to log a few caches.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trek around the area and ended up finding a variety of container types, and sizes on our journey. Our find count for today was 6 caches, with 1 DNF's.
Thanks for placing the cache here. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels. Thanks also for placing a large cache container here. It made us feel really glad to find a large, kid friendly cache (with swaps) here.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Track has finally been repaired after last winter's flooding. A much easier walk to the caches along this track now. Happy caching!!!
Cache checked today and all okay after the flooding. The beginning of the track to this one is now a bit dodgy for a few hundred metres but after that all is good.
Cache checked yesterday and all is well but the beginning of the track does have water over it at the moment due to the river bursting its banks. It is about 30 cms deep but we managed to get through it quite easily on the bikes.
Travelling around Australia and spending a few months in Tasmania.
In Forth to catch up with Smokie5054 before they leave Tassie for the mainland!
Today Mr Felix headed out on a FTF hunt whilst Mrs F had a sleep in. Lovely morning walk, and only 1 snake sighted on the walk.
Beautiful sunny day albeit a bit windy.

Continued along track for this one. I was a little worried about leeches in the ferns while searching for cache. After a quick check all was good. Found cache and no leeches. TFTC
Nice walk through the reserve. Took a fridge magnet for our travel back to WA

Finally, thanks to Oldsaint found the entrance way to this great little series of caches. The path in was muddy due to the amount of recent rain, but a great cache was a just reward for the mud.

A nice walk to GZ. What a lovely stocked cache. Stood back and admired the contents and handiwork. Cache not hidden at all so covered well in hidey hole. TFTC.
Day 5 of our escape from the NT trip, seeking some relief from the tropical build up
These are the kind of walks we are after on our trip down here, very beautiful and relaxing.

Another great cache! They're really impressive around these parts! I really enjoyed the walk along to this cache on such a lovely afternoon. Cache is in perfect nick, and had been found by a considerate muggle who had logged and replaced as found. All good. Thanks for a top cache, beetles2!

At first we thought we were going to have to walk through some locals yard and then swim the river. Yes, trusting the GPS too much can lead to trouble. We didn't have swimming gear with us, so thought it advisable to re-consult the cache description. That was how we found the car park and set-off on a walk in the crisp morning air. Glad we had decided not to swim once we were outside the warm car and into the air!
Down the track we came to our first obstacle. The floods this year had certainly left behind a good pile of debris. In the US a beaver would have thought he had died and gone to heaven!!
We negotiated the obstacle easily and were again on our way. A few more trees across the path were no obstacle. We found Rock n Frog. Our good friends and fellow cachers, Corroboree (named after the endangered frog species from the Kosciusko region)are very into frogs.
We proceeded on to 'Ladybird Trade'. Coincidentally close friends KI Bug who introduced us to caching have a ladybug as their calling signature, so we enjoyed finding and logging this cache.
Another great friend Gentoopeng are named after the Gentoo Penguin, but although the air was cold and water even colder, we did not hold out much hope of finding a penguin swap.
Great ideas for caches in a lovely area we would not have known about let alone visited.
Thank you

What a great cache and pleasant walk along the river we have had a lovely time exploring this part of the state and finding all your lovely caches thanks beetles2 for bringing us here. No beetles to swap TFTC
We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the caches along this track, which made a lovely walk even more enjoyable. Cache was found fairly quickly due to a good hint. It was in good condition, dry and contained some very nice swaps. Unfortunately, I had nothing of a beetle nature to leave in return so left them for someone else.
By the way, the stepping stones in the river are now buried in a mountain of fallen trees and it's impossible to cross that way. On the upside, there are some delicious blackberries near the gate at the start of the trail.
Thanks for another wonderful cache, beetles2.

Very easy find. GZ doesn't look as it has suffered and damage from the recent floods. Cache nice and dry. TNLN

Unfortunately this cache has been found and vandalised. As we are out of the state we have contacted a friend to set it up again until we return. We apologize for the fact that it will contain no ladybird swaps until we return.

Cache # 4 along here to complete a great stroll. Well stocked cache...many thanks beetles2..Cheers.
We did a bit of bush bashing thanks to the gps having a meltdown but eventually found the right tree. Tftc
Another lovely theemed cache but once again I didnt come prepared.
After returning the cache to its hidey hole I wandered along to the dam in the hope of doing a bit of fishing but the recent rains made it just a little unsuitable and I struggled against all the water.
So I took a few pictures instead and then headed off
Thanks beetles2 for the lovely walk
I left a geocoin only

Forgotten to log this cache that I found just before the event in Port Sorrel.
This was a beautiful little walk/ride on a crisp winter afternoon. No swaps, we enjoyed the adventure along the trail but now we were running out of day light so we had to jog back to the car.
Thanks beetles2.

Problem solved!! Had a visit today and added a pencil and sharpener to cache. Sorry about that previous finders. Dropped off a TB while there too.
Two new caches made for a pleasant diversion on our way to Burnie this morning. This cache, although well stocked with nice swaps, was missing a pen. We didn't have one on us, so K went back to the previous cache to borrow the pen, only to find someone in the process of finding the cache. She came back empty handed, and the other cacher turned out to be 3DG.
Lovely walk along the river. Came across Dean and family and like they said - no pen.
We made our mark with a sharp stick and dirt before heading along to the dam.
Have seen it many times from the other side of the river but never from this vantage point.
Many thanks.

A beautiful winter's afternoon, two new caches in a great nearby area - the temptation was too great. We set off on a quite easy walk, completed the other find on the way, and came to Ladybird Trade. What a collection of ladybird items - we took a ladybird cat toy and left 4 ladybird buttons. As there were no other entries in the log, we will claim as FTF. Thanks for a great cache and a great walk on a river-side track.
My first FTF whoooohooooo
had to happen sooner or later I suppose, nice goodies in this one
