Got to the destination, and was escorted by a cute young blonde boy to find the cache, our first ever !!!! A successful find.
An unsuccessful evening's search here, even using torchlight and kneeling in broken glass. Thanks anyway Phetlern.
Na mugglrs at the cricket nets and didnt want to hsng around Back again another day
Down this way for a quick weekend break and all of a sudden I looked around and the rest of the family were down for an afternoon nap. So I decided to make the most of some sudden free time by setting off for a couple of nearby caches. After blanking on the first one I was determined to find this one despite coming up empty initially. Plenty of broken glass around GZ meant I had to be very careful while following the tips of past logs and finally I spotted it. Thanks for the cache Phetlern.
Paid a call to this one yesterday - it is still safe and sound where it was placed almost 5 years back. Ready and waiting to be found.
We have disabled this one on the basis of the previous log. Will visit this week.
Looks like the cache may have been vandalised. We found a pen and a few blue plastic parts of a sistema container under the trees behind GZ.
Scars …. We all have them …. Some we do, on a fleeting moment of clumsiness ..... some disappear, as quickly as we did them and we don’t ever thinking about them at all. I have THAT one. That one …… although ever so faint in appearance, it cut the deepest of any scar I have ever had. I know it’s there and I know what meaning it has for me. I catch myself sometimes losing myself in that scar, no one really knows, why it’s there, how it got there, or what it means to me. I drove here today from Melbourne, for this cache, I’ve had this one on my radar, from the minute I stumbled across it …. THIS HAD TO BE important to me but it had to be the right time too.
Why this one? It’s just a cache near an oval, nothing really important ….. YET, I think it’s the most important one for me, personally. As a child I lived on the higher hill, we would ride our bikes from the top of the hill, through the paddocks and duck through the vacant paddocks, that weren’t fenced in. In the 80’s it looked very, VERY different down here. When we got to this spot, we would ride across the thin bridge over the drain bridge. I naturally had my best jeans on, the ones with the holes in the knees, that certainly helped the wire when it gouged into my knee and split it right opened whilst I was riding the bike. I had a choice to ride back home and cry or endure the pain, push on to my destination which still had the open ride across the oval, where you knew the plovers were going to attack and swoop, another creek, an uphill ride but it was all worth it, when you cashed in your loose coin for a bag of lollies at the only local milk bar in the area.
The days where you could hand pick ..... this one..... that one and your paper lolly bag was the most rewarding thing on earth. It sure beat going home ( home was a mixed bag of lollies of a different sort) . We would leave the bikes at the milk bar and walk to the beach and I would just watch the waves roll in before heading home again.
So today, when ,my boys came up with the goods & couldn't help but feel, today was full circle for me. Life looks so different 30 years later ….. in fact ..... how much has changed in 12 months, since I have discovered Geocaching. The people I have met, the places that I go, it changed the whole direction of my life. I made the decision 3 months ago to go back to school and make ME truly happy. It was like watching a jigsaw puzzle fall into place & here I am. At my 1st Phetlern cache, my 400th, I changed my career completely and secured my dream job, full time last week in the field I love & THAT scar.
Yes scars …….. we all carry them around with us … ……the scar is still there but today ……. I changed that meaning, of THAT scar.
Because I was brave enough to change my direction & I have Geocaching to thank for the push I was so desperately looking for. Sometimes ........ like the day I rode that bike ..... you just gotta push on, no matter how much pain there is, today was a good day ...... a really good day, to change perspective and be reflective of who I was, who I could have been and who I ended up being. I will now look down and see a whole lot of goodness in my world when I look at my knee, yes it's faint but it's a whole new part of me. This isn't just not another green dot cache, it was so much more ....... to me. "Don't just count the numbers .... make the numbers count [;] Ive once read somewhere ....... & boy aren't I doing just that !!!!

We are trying to finish a challenge cache. 20 caches that have 200 finds and 0 favourites. This cache almost qualifies! We will have to recruit a few more finders! We've been driving all around Geelong. Not surprisingly, there aren't many unloved caches. We found the cache quickly today, can't say the same for the dnf close by, but that's how it goes. I must admit, I like these kinds of hides the best. Good coords, pretty quick find, interesting cache notes... maybe I should give it a favourite... wait, no!!! Tftc.
This was our second try. 7 months later we found right away! I really believe it wasnt here last time we checked because we found this right away compared to a 1 hour previous search! TFTC
Well that was hard! A guy helped us in the end, saying 'I've seen a few people looking for stuff around here... I found it for the last lot, but you can claim it of course!' Funny!
Did a drive by of this one a few days ago, but the local cricket team was on the field, with a car also parked right at GZ! Came back today and not a person about. Quickly checked some nearby 'usual' spots before honing in on the final location. First time I didn't quite each far enough, but on the second go the log was found, signed and replaced. TFTC
I thought this one would be fitting after just playing some indoor hard court at the BASC!
A tough start, being 9pm... But I decided to lay down and stretch my back. I was under pressure to find this one. As I turned over, I saw it! Lucky I still had my knee pads Great hide! #7 for us!

Great hide, I was looking and looking in the right spot only to stray away with the rest of the group... Found myself back in the right spot but my partner got it before me. Bummer maybe next time! Thanks for the fun at 9:30pm
Very difficult for us. Nearly gave up but after reading the activity log we found it. Never give up, never surrender.
In the area and needing to walk and stretch my back so this was the ideal location. After being hindered by some friendly mutts and their muggle owners it was then a quick find once they all moved on TFTC Phetlern
Driving in this area brought back my very first childhood memories - we lived in this area when I first went to playgroup and kindergarden. We parked nearby and wandered over to the GZ, where the GeoKids decided that climbing the trees in the vicinity was a more attractive proposal than helping to look for the cache. I was not at all appropriately attired for this one, wearing quite a short dress. I was glad that the only non-geocachers around were my unhelpful immediate family!
Cache quickly (fortunately) located and retrieved. All in good condition.
TFTC!

A busy place today but fortunately no cricketers. The painted container blends in well, but we had a good idea of where to look. TFTC
Very sneaky hide. Was a muggle around but with the help of some kneeling I was able to get the job done.
Thank you for the cache. Cruising around solo today finding a few traditionals. Left my face and a teacher pin.
It's a slow start to 2016 for us, with this being the first and only find to date. We were visiting friends in the area and the dog needed a walk. Quick check of the map: aha! a cache in the area.
At GZ it took a couple of minutes of searching, and with light failing it was getting tricky. Luckily we found it, signed it, and headed back home for dessert and more beers
Thanks Phetlern for the walk and the cache.

Hi there Phetlern. We found your cache "Anyone 4 Beach Volleyball ?" at 12:02:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 12548.
[Blue]
We had to visit friends in Collendina today, so on our way home we started off at a random cache and then navigated to the one the GPS said was next closest, and so on. We ended up logging 3 and DNF'd 1.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Grabbed Trackable: "Aussie mate koala (TB4K5W5)".
Thanks for the hunt,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

After reading a few logs I made a quick find. Dropped a TB and picked one up. A lovely week in OG with a bunch of muggle friends. Tftc
After a fairly long search, my friend found the geocache. Not long after, about 10 muggles surrounded us for their cricket training. Using our skills of sneakiness we rehid the cache. Tftc
Found cache with ScottyB (barney123)

i swear last time i was here it wasnt here. i was here over 20 mins and felt around everywhere. this time it took me 30 secs. i spotted it from other side. tftc
Down in OG today visiting some muggle friends when we realised we still needed our daily cache , so after an inspection of the geo map we settled for this trad. After making the short walk to GZ we started our search n the obvious spot but came up empty handed, so after an idea came to the male Triton who soon had it in hand.
Thanks Phetlern for the cache.
Thanks Phetlern for the cache.
As I was working in OG for the day I thought I would try for this cache on the way home. A quick look did not reveal anything. A more thorough effort and I was rewarded. Thanks for placing this cache.
Found @ 1800 with Muggle Monp.
The last time I went looking for this cache there was a cricket match in progress. No night cricket in the Grove tonight.
I was visiting a friend in Ocean Grove and over a cup of coffee we started talking about this cache that others where having trouble finding.
We decided to go and have a look for it ourselves.
Armed with our phone torches we searched the area where my GPSr was pointing to GZ, finding nothing we widened the search and soon came up with the cache.
The log was duly signed and the cache replaced in hiding spot.
'Scrat' visited your cache whilst on his Great Aussie Adventure.

Made a visit to the cache today and contrary to a run of DNF's and suggestions that the cache has been removed it is STILL in place!
Bummer!!! 3rd no find for the day.
Went to new coords. Looked under, over and all around to no avail. Reading previous logs it may have gone missing in action.

Searched for for nearly an hour with no success, lots of broken glass and ripped aluminium so don't want to rummage around on the ground too much.
With jocada13, searching high and very low. Knew we were in the general vicinity however had no luck. Fading light, the wind was picking up, it was trying to rain and the broken glass put us off searching any longer.
Kneeling was helpful, easy find tftc

Had a 200 metre walk but it wasn't the nets. GPSr took a while to settle down but we were pretty sure about the location. Before we could find anything we chatted with a muggle walking several dogs. Finally found the cache where expected at 11:55. TFTC
I have no idea where this is. Lots of glass around makes me bit edgy about fossicking with kids.
Found log from "caiti777" contained information as to the location of the cache. As there have not been any contact details provided to GS, the log has been removed.
Another unsuccessful search for this one. Think I'll wait until someone with better geo sense can confirm its presence before searching again.
I am here with fellow geocachers and we are at the exact location and we cannot find
Called by today, after a number of conflicting reports. There appears to have been quite some cache creep. The cache IS now in the original position. Please return the cache as you found it.
A report from our maintenance team says the cache is missing so we will disable it until it can be replaced.
Had to careful, here as we had a muggle family having a kick to kick on the oval nearby. Luckily they were having too much fun to care about us. Accurate co-ords made for a quick find. TFTC Phetlern.
Workin out this way for the day weather was to good not to pick up a few quick caches
Despite muggle activity we were able to find the cache after utilising our kneeling skills... Tftc

Was out this way late this arvo while there was still a little light left. Had the Geo-Mrs and Geo4yo in tow and headed straight to GZ while Geo4yo played in the nearby playpark. Although I did struggle a little due to a crook back back I quickly had the cache out of its hidey hole and log signed pretty quick.
Thanks Phetlern for the cache
Log signed & replaced. TFTC & smiley face
