Heaps of bulldozers!! M14 loved them and wanted to view them all. Cache quickly found. Thanks for hiding.
Day 4 in New Zealand while staying in Martinborough and travelling down to Cape Palliser. Made an early start before the forecast rain that was due around noon, which came down with force. The road to cape Palliser was so varied at times, but an amazing drive.I was amazed by the ingenuity of the boat trailers and push back machines.Log signed and replaced as found. Thanks for the traditional cache Skindo #7,837

Nuce one right by our campsite - no muggles thanks to pre-season but I can see this being pretty busy during summer. TFTC!
Easy find, and yes, bulldozers, bulldozers and more bulldozers. Many thanks
We tripped out this way for Matariki weekend and had a lovely walk along the beach! TFTC
Out for walk between rain from stay at Te Kopi homestead. Cold S and heavy rain going onto see the seals and lighthouse with the grandchildren.

Missed during our last visit to New Zealand. This time we made to the most southern point of North Island
There was a guy sitting outside his van very near, so while Mr CD engaged him in conversation I found the cache, signed and returned and took a photo of the flowers. TFTC
Travelling down to Wellington via Cape Palliser for the second week of school holidays. Stayed at the Pinnacles campground last night. Stopped here for lunch and a swim. GZ was busy with muggles so patience was needed. Cache all fine. Loved all the bulldozers and the autumn flowers that were in flower. Thanks Skindo for the smiley and showing us this area.
Wandering in Wairarapa between Easter and Anzac day. Started at Cape Palliser and ended up in Martinborough. Found several hides along my way. This hide was one of them.
I had to be careful here and do not disturb the campers...

So lucky to have beautiful weather today - no wind. Just loved looking over all the bulldozers and marvelling that boats launch from here. Cache is all good. TFTC
bulldozers galore ! one was even being started up ! the cache was easily located but i didn't have any new log paper with me as the existing log has only a few spaces left so perhaps next cache will come prepared with anew log . i took photos of the beach and the Bulldozers , ( of course ) there quite a little village here along the beach with even named a side streets ! thanks for this cache .
On a trip to Cape Palliser, stopped for a bit of fresh air before getting there. Noticed there was a cache 40m away so thought we’d take it.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Over here for some r&r which always includes geocaching.
Grabbed this one on our visit to Lake Ferry and Cape Palliser today.
Quick find here - SL and left as found. TFTC.

After staying in the DOC campsite overnight, we explored the Cape Palliser area today and picked up a few caches before heading back to Featherston. Thought we might be looking amongst the bulldozers for this one. Quite happy that wasn’t the case! It proved to be a quick find with no muggles around, plenty elsewhere though. #4008. TFTC.
On a family tour.. Refuelling ourselves with chips and icecreams. Nice view from here. Had to be extra stealthy and deceptive as there were few muggles around.. TFTC
Travel companions stopped for a toilet stop. I stopped for a cache. Everyone happy! TFTC.
My family and I were going off for a trip for the weekend down and around the area so during the weekend I thought it would be a good idea to find a few geocaches and get myself up to 500.
As a family we quickly went down to see the seals at the beaches in the area and on our way back I stopped to collect this cache. A few muggles around in their camper vans but discretely found and signed the cache. TFTC!!

We stopped to check out the bulldozers and boats on our return trip from the lighthouse. We were interested to see that some of the tractors used to tow the fishing boats had COVID tracer apps in them. Cache was quickly spotted with the hint.
Stayed a night in Greytown, now finding some caches on our to Cape Palliser on this very hot day. Soon had cache in hand, signed and return as found. Thanks skindo for the cache.
Cache # 4,980 - fascinating little community here, and very busy campground. But one of the things with lots of people around is that you can often be invisible, especially with two little cachers (Astro Hunter and Violet Butterfly) along for cover. This was quickly located and signed, and one woman popped out of her adjacent caravan to ask us what we were doing. We straight up said "geocaching" and she said "Oh, I know all about that and forget to look when I go place!", so not a true muggle after all. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Did today with The Wandering Dragons and Astro Hunter. Quick find, lovely people to talk to. Thanks!

Didn't really get an opportunity to hunt, as campground full of potential muggles. Loved coming out here though, and beautifully timed so saw lots of tractors bringing boats in. Will be back to hunt another day!
This cache was literally 10 meters from where we parked our motor home. After dinner I strolled over to find it. I have heard a lot about these bulldozers so it was great to check them all out. Thanks for the cache.
After a hard days exercise we drove into a nice spot on the waters edge for a nights stop over. Once settled, I checked for any close caches...what pleasant surprise...one at less than 10 metres.I had heard alot about this rugged beach and the way they launch their boats, so enjoyed this interesting areamany thanks Skindo well done
I have been to Ngawi before, although I cannot remember if that was after I started geocaching. Nga is plural "the", but what does wi mean? I had to look it up. Darn it, it is not a Māori word. Another contraction of something longer? Ah! It is mis-spelled. Ngāwī - "tussock grasses".
I always think of this as some vaguely Italian place, with its line of fishing boats pulled up on the beach. Of course, that would require Italian housing behind, so the image is not perfect. I am surprised each has their own bulldozer - would not shaing one or few be more economic?
Found the cache, then carried on to the lighthouse. Stopped here on the way back for an icecream.
The plan was to go tramping but the weather report was particularly disappointing. So my sister, my nephew and my self went camping at the Pinnacles instead, Fantastic weekend, great weather, although a bit blowy on Sunday. And on our return to Wellington the weather was... particularly disappointing. It was hosing down! I'm glad we went for option 2, but I am still needing some tree time.

#1252. After scaling Cape Palliser lighthouse, this was an opportune place to stop for a late picnic lunch. Lots of hungry seagulls joined the party, and after eating, time to find the nearby cache. I read the previous log, but decided to check it out anyway. It was ok - no trampling of plant life was necessary, and the cache was well away from any foliage which may have been at risk. Can’t understand what was meant by the comment.

I find caches like this very disappointing. The damage done to the fragile coastal environment by people looking for this cache is immediately obvious. This area is under enough pressure being on the side of a camp ground, we shouldn't be adding to it. I will not look for caches like this one.
Quick find on this rugged coastline. Was on the bucket list to visit this part of NZ. Surprised at the amount of villages down here, a great escape from it all.
We're traveling round the bottom of the north island on a week away from the madness of our normal life in Invercargill (and to escape the freezing weather) we spent last night in Martinborough and we're taking the long way to Wellington today. Today the weather was beautiful, and made being in a really cool little township on the edge even more special. TFTC
Found with Elihyn on a fabulous winter’s day, level2 lockdown. Cache in good order. TFTC
A quick stop on our way to the lighthouse. What a beautiful day, never seen the sea here that calm before. Thanks for placing the cache
The last time I was out this way I saw Thomas the Tank Engine's mate Rusty but I couldn't spot him today.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Our first find today - no wind but cloudy and drizzly. Quite a lot of camping folk here but most busy with their own concerns. TFTC
I love the informative cache page which gives so much more of an appreciation of this area. We really feel like we’re at the end of the world here. Yet in the distance you can see the entrance to Wellington Harbour under the clouds.
Found this one on the way back from Cape Palliser. It was a great excuse to stop and look at bulldozers, although I’m not sure why I would be particularly fascinated by them. Beautiful day for caching; lots of Muggles around and a few watched me for a little bit, but then turned their backs to me so I think they didn’t care. TFTC!
I loved all the bull dozers near by. It's Canterbury Anniversary weekend so JDScout and I organized cheap flights up to Wellington awhile back. We stayed at a friend's house in Greytown and have based ourselves there. Thanks Skindo for placing this geocache 7944 find for me.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

Three years ago, we intended to come and admire the cape and the sea lions. Unfortunately the weather was really bad and we stopped at Putangirua Pinnacles.
Today, the weather is beautiful and we will enjoy it all day long
We leave the cape to head back to our motel
In passing some stops and some caches on the road.
The weather is always very nice.

Thanks skindo for the geocache [^]

We have heard about this town, but in a way that there are more bulldozers than people. Funny to see but fully understandable if you think about the gravel and sand at that beach. Quickly found. TFTC
A good spot for a lunch stop, and a cache as a bonus. TFTC! Glad GSEL is doing the driving so I have a chance to enjoy the scenery.
Fur seals everywhere! They were lolling about enjoying the lovely sunshine, and quite passive, but we took care not to get too close. Quick find.

Today we went to Cape Palliser for enjoying this amazing spot!
On our way we saw this kind of living museum.
Besides we had a wonderful view all over this area!
Amazing what was created by nature.
Many thanks for showing us this amazing place!
TFTC says Tango-Addi!

Another road trip to the Wairarapa, this time to pick up caches for the Mystery at the Museum. I headed out to Cape Palliser as I haven't been out this way for a few years - before I started geocaching so there's plenty for me to get.
Ngawi really is a unique place - I don't know of anywhere else in New Zealand that is set up in such a way - reminds me of fishing villages in England. I walked all the way around the hint object before spotting the secondary hint object. After that, the rest was just formalities. All good here. TFTC

Today is day 16 of our drive to the south island. We spent the night at the freecamp a few hundret metre away from the cache. After enjoying a nice breakfast I made my way along the shore to GZ. It was a quick find and the first of today. Our plan for today includes walking up the stairs to the lighthouse and then we will walk to the pinnacles before heading back towarts Porirua. Tftc.
Down to Palliser to enjoy the spring sun while it lasts and pick up some caches. In a place merely a couple of hours from the Wellington CBD, a rural lifestyle flourished, with grizzled fishermen neglecting their craft for a chat on the shore. The tractors too sat dormant today. Quick find, TFTC
Banian's Good Friday trip to Cape Palliser to get the most southern North Island cache, and a few others.
No boat activity today, very busy food cart.

Found on a lovely Good Friday excursion with DaVinciHunter and the littles. ‘A’ loved the bulldozers and were fascinated with a dead shark on the beach. TFTC.
Quick find this afternoon heading back to Martinborough after visiting the Lighthouse. Log almost full so added an extra strip so that finders can keep on logging.
Thanks for placing a cache here. Nice calm sea conditions and all the boats were up on their trailers.

Out on a cycling tour of the Wairarapa District. We passed by here on the way to Cape Palliser. Thanks for hiding Skindo
A quick nip up the track in the bracing wind, such a lovely spot - thanks for placing a cache here!
“New Scotland to New Zealand” Greetings from Nova Scotia, Canada. We are travelling through New Zealand for a month and hope to enjoy many caches. Thanks to all cache owners and to this beautiful country.
Stopped here for a picnic lunch. Beautiful place!

Stopped to get a thickshake from the nearby food cart, then walked over to make the find. ThanksFTC.
Heaps of bulldozers of all shapes and sizes. I wondered why there are so many, but then looked at the boats which look very commercial so I guess the bulldozers are just part of the business. I saw one fairly small dozer put on the gas to move a 15m boat out of the low surf. The commercial boats are much bigger than that one so the bigger bulldozers are needed to haul them out. TFTC and for bringing me here.Worth a FAV in fact.
This Cache we found during our Holiday in NZ.

After a grar night, thank you Ngawi for beeing so generous to freedom campers, this catch was a must do. The last one for now searched for together with the Geozieglers. TFTC!
