Lots of elephant tracks in the fresh soil, all converging on GZ, found the post and rock at GZ, but no sign of the cache.

04-Dec-10
Took a while to find this one but we were determined to find it. When we eventually found it, it wasn't according to the clue, so we put a rock on top of it.

04-Dec-10
Found the rock but no cache

12-Nov-10

07-Nov-10
Wow, it is great to see that the power of nature can do, amazing how much the ground shifted on Sept 4th. Easy to find cache, took a finger monster puppet, and left a travel bug to carry on its way, good luck little clog!! TFTC.

31-Oct-10
(568) Another interesting location.. TFTC, SL

12-Oct-10
The boys wanted to see the cracks in the ground. I found the fence posted snapped off at ground level amazing. The wires on the fence have been pulled very tight by the earth moving. More cracks around the base of the posts found for the boys to look at. Thanks for the cache I'll visit the other earthquake caches another day.

08-Oct-10
Trip out to see what remains of the damage to the sites around Darfield. One of a few today to make the most of the journey. Quick one to find (199)

08-Oct-10
The hedge and the water race suffered somewhat.
+ a marble, - nothing.

07-Oct-10
Went to this cache from "kinky", easy to see where the fault is where it has moved tree lines and fences, harder to see it in paddocks.
The last earthquake cache for the day.

TFTC, Jeff, Matthew and Cathy.

04-Oct-10
One month after the quake was a good time to visit these three caches to see all the places you just knew from TV.
This looks more impressive from a helicopter, but the fore of the earth is just amazing.

03-Oct-10
Just after completing the log a group of Japanese engineers? arrived complete with tape measures, probe things, safety vests, lots of loud talking and amusing hand gestures. TFTC

03-Oct-10

26-Sep-10
Unfortunately the norwester had become very strong by this stage in the afternoon, so we didn't linger.

26-Sep-10
Thanks for drawing attention to this spot. We'd have never found it otherwise. No body around just an old man Nor wester.

24-Sep-10
Whilst I walked back up the road to take a photo of the kink in the road Mrs BaldEd hopped out of the cachemobile, walked 6m and picked up the exposed cache which had be blown clean of it's debris covering by the strong NWerly winds. + The Great Aloha to Murrumba Downs Race! - Mara TB.

22-Sep-10
Mother Nature Rocks! (and rolls) Very sobering...

21-Sep-10
The place was abandoned today, so a nice easy find.
Cheers and thanks,
S.t.

A lovely morning for a drive in the country - out came the Nuvi and the 3 earthquake caches were soon programmed in. Off we went - to a fault. This location is interesting and impressive - impressive in the view of the trees, fences and pole lines all with an abrupt 2metre kink. And interesting in that there seemed little evidence in the paddocks nearby, other than some slight mounding of turf. I think the Kinky location GC2FAHQ is even better, but this is still a sobering reminder of the sheer power of Mother Nature. Thanks and cheers from Grandalf(1854)

20-Sep-10
After negotiating the 'straight' Telegraph Rd it was interesting to come here. It looks as though it is on the same line / fault. Thanks for bringing us here. Hatas

19-Sep-10
Like the others, we had to wait for a car load of muggles to leave before signing log and leaving TB. TFTC.

19-Sep-10
Like half of Christchurch we went to find the fault. It was quite an amazing experiance as we followed it for km's across the country size. Though we had experianced the quake, it was difficult to imagine all this damage and offsetting of the roads occured in a few seconds.

19-Sep-10
We were a bit out with our dates in the log book. An interesting drive on a sunny day. TFTC

16-Sep-10
Wow its pretty amazing round about here. Just after this I was trying to drive down a road which was once a straight road and now side by side. TFTC #1568

15-Sep-10

14-Sep-10
Bouncy bouncy ground eh? A van load of muggles were parked up as GZ taking photos of the tree line and ground around the fault line. Waited till they took off then made the easy find. TNLN Thanks
