#10,582. We completed all but one of the other valley walks in this series between January 2011 and November 2018 … taking well over 7 years to do so. So today being the last day of 2018, we were happy to have another valley walk in Fitzherbert, Palmerston North to try if we can find this “final” of the series. Fortunately GZ was all quiet upon arrival. Found after a short search. Good hide. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Thanks for the series and placements, and for bringing us to all these sites, and …

Out on a bike ride to pick up some caches on a sunny Waitangi Day. Soon spotted the cache at GZ, filled in the logbook, and went on our way.
P.S. Not sure why this is archived as the cache is very definitely still there?

After a very frustrating search and an inaccurate gz finally found this on the second attempt tftc!
I originally took two incorrect 'short cuts' before getting to the area.
Cool hide.
Cool hide.
One of the easier finds in this series (thankfully). I was glad for the hint in the description which made the find easier as my gps was having all sorts of fun under the canopy. A very clever placement.
Well done me&him on a fantastic series.

Finally got around to finding this cache although it was a bit difficult with a couple of caches in the series no longer existing, TFTC.
Finally got round to ticking off this last cache in the series
TFTC, and the series, very enjoyable experiences

I some how stumbled on to this series in January 2011 by finding number 3! Not the smartest place to start.
Checking my records, it seems I found 2 and 1 shortly after, followed by 5. I have no idea why I didn't attempt 4 earlier (while it was still alive), especially since I was very impressed by the quality of the hides. More recently, while planning a trip to the Manawatu, I again noticed this one outstanding and decided I should complete the series.
This was one one cache I especially wanted to find today so I should not have left it until it was nearly dark. It was a nice walk to GZ. I have to admit I did not find the cache immediately but it was not an overly long search.
Thanks very much for a terrific series of caches.

One of the easier finds in this series (thank god, as my gps was bouncing around a bit). Thank you CO for this series.
found by the whole Etherlord clan on an after-dinner-outing.
The terrain rating guided me closer to the earth's core than necessary, but it was a quick find once I stood back and simplified my search a bit.
Thanks for the series! ...although this is the first Even numbered cache in the series that I have managed to find.
-soccer ball water pistol (EtherMiss took it because it was Pink!!!)
+286 RAM keyring and some Auckland2013 Mega invites.
T4TC, #600 for me!

Nice series with some very interesting hides. I did most of these by car but of would have been a lovely walk id i‘d had more time.
Came here this morning on a caching expedition in the area. Cache was a quick find in the first place I looked. Signed log, TFTC!
Good hide! Found after collecting the clues from the other caches (hadn't realised number 5 was out of action as downloaded the caches a week or so ago but after not finding it, checked the recent logs and realised it had been muggled). Thanks for supplying the missing clues to enable us to finish the series. TFTC
With 4 out of 5 in the series, we managed to figure out where the final might be. Another pleasant stroll to a possible cache site and there it was. Liked the method of attachment, keeps the cache nice and dry. TFTC
Thanks for the series, been slowly getting these ones done and thought #6 would be a great cache for my 100th cache
Found with kiwi-flyer, his 100th cache
This was a great series, thanks for all work u put into making it.

Having managed to complete the majority of the series tonight, decided to finish it off before bedtime, last cache for the night. Thanks for a fun series, most enjoyable. TFTC

We went for an afternoon walk around this circuit and discovered new views and new housing and new tracks- really worthwhile. Couldn't find #2, but luckily it didn't take much thought to guess what those numbers must be. Mr Daywalk went straight to the final. Left Rotary TB. A great series thanks me&him.
Oh what a bugger. Went straight past the GZ with the gps telling me it is 50 m up hill. A bit of bush bashing hoping to hook up with another path, but no. But I did get in the clear and got sa goo fix on the GZ. 50m downhill. Mutter mutter grumble. More bushbashing later I find myself there and after way too long a search I found it. Nice to get this series done. Thanks, me&him
TFTC, the last find of the day. We werent planning on doing this cache as we missed no 1, however we worked out the co-ordinates and were biking right past. We will go back to find valley walks 1. A great series
Woohoo! Nice find to finish the series we started last week. Nice hide and thank you very much for taking us on the walk, we all really enjoyed it. this would have to be my favorite series in palmy.
This was my last cache for the day, and the last one to complete the series I had started on a previous visit to Palmy.
I didn't contact the cache on the firat pass, but after getting down and dirty, I soon realised where it wasn't! Love the camo job.
This had been a great series, lots of variety with the hides, and a really good walk thrown in. TFTC

I found this almost immediately, with the help of the hint. Gerry the Giraffe inspected the cache, but indicated that he'd like to continue further in my pocket, which he said was warmer.
I enjoyed doing this series with kaikawaka. It was a good long walk, especially since we'd started it from home, and we felt we'd had an interesting afternoon by the time we got back again. As a visitor to Palmerston North, I enjoyed seeing places I'd never been to before. Thank you.

Found after a short search. Enjoyed this series of walks - a great way to highlight all the walkways round here. Also enjoyed the variety of hides in the series.

An easy find, and a nice end to a very nice series - thank you for your clever placements.
Picked up "Not all who wander are lost" geocoin - I hope to be able to help it on its way.

Yay the clues all worked and found the GC pretty much bang on the co-ords we had entered into the GPS. Very well done to me&him it was a great 2 hour walk on a warm autumn afternoon with a bunch of junior GC'ers in tow. The GC placement was clever in all cases - well hidden yet easily located with good co-ords and good clues. Well done for such a good series - you have inspired me to have a think about doing something similar in my hometown! Left a geocoin which I had collected a month or so ago in the Waikato, taken with me to the top of Mt Ngaruhoe a few weeks ago, and there for the next person to grab and take on the next stage in its journey. TFTC
YES! Took me two visits to find it...stated doubting myself whether I had collected the others correctly after no luck the first time...but got it second visit. Top marks for all the work gone into these...very enjoyable. A definate favourite.
Good to get the final of the Valley Walks caches, it was a great introduction to Palmerston North, with innovative hides to boot.
Thanks for the journey and the hard work involved in setting the caches.

Easy find once I got myself on the right track with the correct coord! Taken me a while to do the whole series but finally finished it off!
Fantastic series, really well organized with some great hides! Thanks so much for the effort in setting it all up. Didn't have any trouble with the final, after another nice walk
We enjoyed this series of valley walks , the tracks was great to walk along . TFTC
Really enjoyed the series. Mrs sfortyoner did the final 2 finds. Thank you very much.
Found this cleverly constructed cache using brains rather than technology. What a great way to work off excess calories as a result of an excess intake on Christmas and Boxing Days. Sfortyoner and Mrs sfortyoner from further south were mightily impressed with this series. A lot of thought and ingenuity has gone into each hide and we would say this is the best lot of caches in the local area. Thoroughly recommended. Thanks very much me&him
A thoroughly enjoyable multi-cache with some of the best hides I have seen so far. Many thanks for the innovative camo and the choice of scenery for them
Collected all the clues with time to spare before dinner so we went for the final one right after number 5. We scratched about at gz for awhile before Doomwheel finally got a hand on it. Thanks for all your hard work designing and building this awesome multicache series! We thoroughly enjoyed the walks and the creative hiding spots used. Our dog is now exhausted and sitting in the lounge with a very content look on her face
Thank you for all the hard work you have put in setting up the Valley walks. The camo is the highest standard that I have ever see and makes for a great day that was worth the sunburn.
Found all the caches required to finally get the final of this series today, another very enjoyable series that I loved doing, very glad that I did it today as the weather was behaving itself. Found the final today in a very nice location. Very glad to get this one and to make it my 200th multicache. TFTC TNLNSL (2363)
Thanks for another great series, bringing me to some picturesque local spots. TFTC
Awesome series ... and very cool camos. Thanks for the time and effort that went into this. We did this in two parts over two different days so we didn't have to walk too far
Really love the quality of walking tracks in Palmy! However, lacking any knowledge of these tracks, & where they go exactly, we ended up running a very long way indeed, Got to be good for us though!!!
Thanks for the series. Left a pet rock - a turtle

A short walk to the final today after doing the other walks last week. Thanks to me&him for emailing us the codes we lost last week, although we actually had enough, with a little assistance from nzcoozer, to get to the cache. We enjoyed this series, but question the 3.5 terrain ratings. We would have said 2.0 or 2.5 maximum, as they were all on well formed tracks, not excessively long or steep, and we did them all with the two little Misses nzcoozer aged 4 and 3, with whom we would not normally attempt 3.5 terrain rating caches. had a look at the ratings again... will give it a 3 if you walk the entire series following the loop.. but yes, we agree certain parts of this series are only a 2..
Last of the series found in a couple of minutes after a very long walk. Enjoyed the morning stroll and all the hides. Took TB left TB signed log, left signature trade item. TFTC
Had picked up all the required numbers to find this cache. Soon walked down to location with Hugo the dog. I had a bit of a chuckle when I found the cache - took quite a while to spot, but was in the first area I looked, however with the good camo I hadn't noticed it. Really enjoyed the walk around the area on the nice walkways. SL Released a TB of mine here TFTC
A little unsure of best access point - decided to go from the bottom. It's quite scruffy down there, but the track gradually improved and, as we walked, we enjoyed the sweet scent of the lupins in flower alongside us. Another good hide. Thank you so much for the whole series and all the trouble you've gone to to make intriguing and varied hides.
a quick check after the storms, and after some minor "tweaking" and alterations to a couple of the hides, we are happy to say that all is now well for the series There are a couple of slips but these are easy to navigate over or around, and the tracks are starting to dry out...
Found on a joint FTF night time raid with nzcoozer. We grovelled around rather more than was necessary to find this one. Finding the whole series took us about an hour with a combination of car, walking and local knowledge. After all the rain we have had, I arrived home in an extremely muddy state but with a big smile. Thanks m&h for this excellent series - these walkways are a real asset to our city and this series of caches will bring even more of us with GPS's in hand to enjoy the walks.
