We had this walk loaded onto the GPS from a little while ago but it rained that weekend so postponed it. Didn't realize this had been archived until I went to log! Hope it's still ok to log? The container is broken (maybe someone dropped the 'cover' on it?) but the log book is dry and still a bit of room on it. Quite enjoyed the cache, thanks
#1075. A nicely hidden cache with good camo. I had a quick look and then read the hint. Saw the hint object but ignored it as you do. Bit more looking then came back to it and did what others have done before me. Found the camo bag, logbook and beaten up remnants of a container. Signed the log. Its pretty full but found some gaps to slip in our geonick. Great views from the road end. TFTC
Found this one on the way back from up on the ridge. Like others saw something that gave me a idea of what to look for on the way back and finalyfound in the dark
Needs new cache container as the current one is smashed to bits. The log sheet does not have much room left either.
Luckily the camo bag is holding the cache contents together as the box definitely isn't! We had to have two goes today to find this one today. The first time, we wandered aimlessly around before deciding to go up the track to the Lookout for the nearby cache. It was on our way there that we spotted something that gave us an idea and upon investigating again on our return we were rewarded with the cache. TFTC
I did not know this look out existed so thanks for brining me here. A good view today with no wind and calm seas.
The coords on the GPS kept taking me away from the spot which I thought was the definite clue - finally figured it which was where I thought it was.
Looks like the cache container has been broken previously when being re-hidden and is in need of replacement.
Thanks for the placement.

I grew up on point howard and spent my childhood roaming these hills and could not have wished for a better place to grow up this is what gave me my love of the outdoors. Thanks for making me tramp the hills again

Have lived in wellington for over 30 years and have never been up this road. Found with selesi who GPS worked better than mine here. TFTC
Looked around for this for awhile, then stopped and thought about it, then found straight away. Took the two TB's to continue on there journey
Nice sunny day collecting a few of the local caches with Princess-Emily & tmann421.
Relatively quick find on this one and enjoyed the views. Dropped off a few TBs. TFTC

Number 390 for me and day 90 of my attempt at 100 days!
Found this after a dnf on another cache tonight - thank goodness for my Br'er Bear sidekick tonight who knew of this one so I could continue with my streak. I love the story that goes with this cache. TFTC

Very tricky hide! Gps gave me all sorts of grief :s just as I was about to give up I saw something that made the hint make sense TFTC!
Was tagging this for my cache of the day but got sidetracked by the newly published 'ahoy oil tankers' cache. As we were so close headed up the hill for a quick p and g. The ground was saturated and very boggy. Thankfully WDH2000 made a quick find as I was starting my own busy bee dance withe gps in hand.
After a long day of work and a few caches along my travels i finally made it into wellington and before settling in for the night I chose to collect a few caches not too far from where I was staying.
Great spot up here even though the weather was not the nicest and definitely limited my time out caching this evening.
Soon hunted out the hint item and had the cache all signed and returned to its appropriate spot
THanks for the placement

Geoboy guessed where the cache was, based on the hint object. He was so stoked! TFTC
Nice day to be up here, and I'm sure the bees would be enjoying today after the weather we have just had. GPS had me searching next to the tank, but when I widened the search I soon spotted the hint item. Great story, great view, good sizes cache, worth a favorite point. SL TFTC.
Great view and great camo.

Such a cool sentimental cache, when I read about this I went out and bought a bee themed swappable.
Not on the radar when we left for a walk based visit to the area - but we spotted this as we had a tea break and drove up for the views and the cache after we finished. Nothing suitable with us for the cache - but we happily signed the log.
Thanks.
Thanks.
A queen bumble bee once crawled seven metres down a pipe to make a nest in my roof. None of her offspring were as big as those in the cache. The stayed the whole summer but never brought me any honey.
Little bit boggy and had to figure out what SV meant.
Found with 5 year old sister monkeymoo1.

Had no idea the road went up this far - the views were amazing! However could not seek the hive as two painters were getting rid of the graffiti on the watertower as I arrived, and I thought it was prudent not to approach.....
Quick find once I ignored the GPS and started looking for the hint object. Quite wet underfoot due to rain - I recommend gumboots. TFTC !
Grass well cut and tidy area. I was told the story of the yellow pipe on the top of the smaller tank started a trend in the Wellington area. It gives direct access to the water for the fire engine to pump from.
TFTC SL and left Mickey Mouse.

Nice quick find after a drive up narrow, slightly windy roads. The 2 mini-cachers I brought with me didn't like the wind much but enjoyed looking for and finding the cache. TFTC.
Great view from here even on a cloudy day - at least it wasn't raining. Love the bee theme . Tftc
Pretty sure we did a cache here before.. Awesome views from up here today and even though co-ords were a good 10+m out the hint and obvious locations numbered only a few.. Thanks for the cache. Did with Mycro Man
Great views up here. Soggy grass around the tanks, but cache nice and dry. TFTC
Cache # 558 - #4 on the lunch hour today. A great cache with a great story. Loved the items in the cache! TNLNSL. TFTC!
A push with the bikes up to this delightful spot for a nice find. As hobbyist beekeepers, we really liked this one. The whiz back down on the bikes compensated for the grunt up! TFTC
#867. We never had any idea this location existed. Great views from up here, thanks for bringing us to this spot. -2x bees, +fish, +necklace. SL, TFTC.
Quick & easy park, walk & grab. Lovely view on a lovely, sunny autumn Wellington day.

Brought along 1Bumblebee. Didn't think it would be appropriate to leave her in the cache.

Walked around for a while as gps was whizzing between 5-35m on then click & grab. Thanks
#817 Picked this one up while in the area today - a nice spot with some great views. GPSr was pointing me elsewhere, but soon managed to track the cache down. TFTC!
What a wonderful spot and one I would never have seen without a cache here. The contents a surprise. There were so many themed goodies in there and it was all nice and dry. I took the TB to move on.
I had not been here before so thanks for providing the excuse to visit. Thanks also for sharing the story behind the cache's theme.
13 of 16 found caching with jonoclifford tonight, took a wee bit to find in the dark, should have followed GPS earlier instead of guessing. SL TFTC +Tiki TB
I made a beeline for what appeared to be an obvious hiding place even though my gps was telling me to go in another direction which resulted in an instant find. Dusk was falling when I arrived and together with a lack of wind I was able to stop and enjoy the lights of the city. A nice location and one that I was not previously aware of so thanks for bringing me here. TFTC
At the starting point of my afternoon hike just grabbed this one and enjoed the views. Nice topic. TFTC. Sherlock Hood.
Headed off down the wrong track that even had a geotrail heading to correct location (I thought!) but then I realised the error of my ways and had the cache in my hand. Clever hide indeed. TFTC (took one little bee)
The last push to find #9000
A quick find on my day off in the capital
TFTC
been here before i think - clever hide, nice cammo bag!!

This Travel Bug Also has significant meaning in regards to Mothers so figured it would be a good cache to leave the bug.

lovely view took some time to spot as looks to be about 15mtrs along from original .
StreetWalker had already found the cache by the time I reached GZ. Great views from up here.

#1901 (5/10 on Wellington Anniversary Day). Another place with good views. TFTC.
Really nice location and another place I had never been. Quick find and cache fairly full but managed to leave a GC I had had for more than 2 weeks and wanted to drop off. Its a FTF GC - but this was the first time I found this cache! SL TFTC
#305. Ouch! I think I got stung! Nope, that was the Ongaonga (Urtica Ferox) that I voluntarily stung myself on in the Wainuiomata Catchment! Nice theme for a cache and we located it pretty quickly. What an interesting little section of forest part of the track is on. SL TFTC -TB. Quite windy at GZ, but mostly fine!
Nice way to establish a memorial.
Never bee...n here bee...fore, very bee...tiful!
Cache find was straightforward, all in order, signed the log, dropped in a TB I've been carrying around for some time, and then rehidden safely as found.
Part of my do-at-least-a-cache-a-day after work regime. Working well.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!
RIP Beryl.

GPSr tried to put me in the middle of the water tower, and after having done a complete circuit, thought this can't be. Had another look about and soon had the hiding spot. Quite apt as out in front were lots of bees doing what bees do. The cache was chocka block with different themed items. A great view from out front. Thanks, hadn't been up here before. TFTC
We had almost given up twice when I eventually found this one! A very clever hide, and what a lovely cache - it's simply bursting with bees
Checked and all ok. Cache had moved from its original position so we have tried to put it back more like it was originally.

Definitely a Favorite for this cache, My parents are both Beekeepers so I know most of what there is to know about these wee things, Loved the "urban illusion" style hide!!

this was a must do for me as my dad was also a beekeeper.. but unfortunately came up empty handed . thought I had found a likely spot, but on coming home and logging the dnf i see that someone did find it the same day... maybe another day if we're ever in the area again.. fantastic drive and equally fantastic views all the same... thanks J 'N' K
I happened to be in the area for work this afternoon so found the cache while I was here. TNLN SL TFTC
