MissAdventure3 and I are down here for a Country Fire Authority training weekend from over the other side of the bay. Of course we couldn't let the opportunity of finding caches pass us by! Today happens to be my birthday and we were also blessed with sunny weather! After this we went to the op shop across the road and loaded up on crazy and whacky hats for no other reason than we could.Tftc!

Today was the day to give the new car a freeway and country run. Skylizard and I set off to Koo Wee Rup for this purpose and to get a few caches. We extended our journey to Lang Lang where this was our first find. It should have been a quick find but we searched for for quite a while until Skylizard made the find. We both wondered how we had missed it. TFTC

Cache # 11251 on 27 Apr 2024Decided to take advantage of the ANZAC day holiday and make a long weekend of it - added a road trip with Bobl27 to the mix and all is set for a fun few days. We are travelling from home in the ACT to Victoria via Cooma and then doing a relaxed loop to Melbourne picking up a few caches and counties along the way. And then straight up the Hume home! No tricky DTs or long walks this trip. Wonthaggi to Melbourne today via a few counties and a couple of older caches! This cache: quick find once I searched a couple of the wrong spots! Thank you Gonefishen07 for the cache and the fun!

08-Apr-24
On day two of our our twelve day spring break in Australia, it was time for us to go camping. Yesterday we went shopping after visiting the the doctor and gaining enough supplies for our camping trip, and the morning meant it was time to head our of Melbourne. Our destination for the next couple of days is the Wilsons Promontory National Park, where well be camping and calling it our new home. From the 40+ degrees back home, its a real significant change to be camping in around 10 degree nights. With the trailer in tow, the four of us left Mitcham and headed south, and along the way I got our muggle friends hooked on the search. That meant that luckily, while Laura and I were passengers, we were still able to navigate our stops. The first stop we made along our drive was at this historical canon; parking nearby and getting our to search with four pairs of eyes. It took a second for us to comb through all the holes imaginable, but quickly enough we found the container. We got the logbook out and inked in our nick at 11:30 am, marking our 7082nd overall find. Were excited we were able to visit another howitzer and learn a bit about the local history. The stash and logbook are both in okay condition. Thank you Gonefishen07 for placing and maintaining your Geez not another cache on one of these things! stash; we were glad to visit it and spice up our Monday while in ????Australia for our spring break, visiting from slightly-distant ????Myanmar!

17-Oct-22
Out with kbucky for the day with a plan for her to reach 1000, we had to collect 8 more caches for her before that could happen so this was the 1st we tackled, well I tackled while kbucky issued search commands while being decoy to the zillion school kids. Their was a lot of commentary from me directed at GZ while I searched. Comment of the day goes to kbucky "Get away from me werido." Good thing I knew she was joking but then thinking back maybe with lack of sleep and only 1 coffee I was a bit delirious.

17-Oct-22
Today we, Tiz13 and I, met at Lang Lang with the mission to find my 1000th. As we both have not been able to find THAT STRUCTURE geocache, we thought to tackle it first. Tiz was searching and I was the decoy as it was school time. "Who is that weirdo talking to herself" says I in case anybody cared about a couple of middle aged people perusing an antique structure. We fitted right in and no one paid us any attention. Tiz scored and we were on our way. tftc Gonefishen07

20-Aug-22
As we drove into town to the event at the bakery we saw this piece of equipment and knew we would have to come back later to locate the cache concealed thereon.
Luckily when we returned after the event, Melissa and another cacher had located it, and I had the easy job of adding my signature, before another couple of cachers came along to do the same thing.
Thanks The Swaggies for placing it here, and Mark and Melissa for bringing me to it.

20-Aug-22
It was International Geocaching Day today and the inaugural event cache crawl as well that I also had an event in. It was a bit early to be in Phillip Island at 7am so I started off in Lang Lang but before that I found a puzzle or 2 before arriving at my first event for the day.
After the event I was going right by here and just as I arrived others we finding the cache. Perfect timing.
Thanks Gonefishen07 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

20-Aug-22
We had driven by this cache after the nearby event when there were a few other cachers there. After finding the multi we returned to deserted GZ. This is not the type of search that fills us with excitement - they usually take to long and become a little frustrating. The search for the cache took about 5-10 min and we were able to sign the log. Thanks to The Swaggies/Gonefishen07 for the cache.

20-Aug-22
Laidlaym, Bunadoorian and I were looking for this cache this morning after eating breakfast in the nearby Bakery - before Bunadoorian finally had his hand on the cache. It was an exhaustive search. Cache found in good condition.

20-Aug-22
Found with Bunadoorian & grub62 - searching all over & in! Others joined the fun on the Great Victorian Cache Crawl

20-Aug-22
Grub62 and I were attending a nearby event and couldn't help ourselves. It took a bit of finding but we got there eventually. TFTC.

20-Aug-22
Out and about today grabbing the Great Victorian Cache Crawl events.
Met the other fellow cachers and we decided to hit this traditional inLang Lang.
Nicely tucked away in its hidey hole.
We soon had our names in the log and off for more adventures.
The cache, container and log are in excellent condition.
I visited 3 TB.
Thanks for the event.

20-Aug-22
Found with CJDenno. We just left the event at the bakery and saw a large amount of other geocachers at this traditional. They just hid it back so we had to look for it ourselves. It was hidden in a very sneaky spot at GZ. It took us a minute to see where it could be but we found it. We logged our names and then left to work on a nearby multi-cache.

I visited 5 TB

Enjoying a beautiful day of Winter sunshine we decided to go out and grab a few caches. There was definately a groan of 'oh great its on another gun'. This one took a bit but soon had it in hand.. TFTC

TFTG Lovely little town.

15-Dec-21
We gave the usual groan as we pulled up to look for this one, but with the hint Mrs SKI soon found this one.

After a false start last week when we thought the weather was going to be unkind we rescheduled with Rebel Acts to head down to Phillip Island on a caching run today. Mind you, Rebel had to remind us as with all the things on at present we had forgotten we had reorganized. We're never to busy to go on a caching run though, so off we went.

There were a couple of DNFs from a previous trip we needed to rectify, some multis to be found and at least one trail to walk as well as picking up some trads on the way. Even managed and Earthcache.

It was a great day for caching, a nice cool 18 degrees with no wind and just a bit overcast. Another great day with the usual laughter and taunts that always make it fun. Pleased to say, no DNFs today!

All logs signed as SKI Pair, Rebel Acts or RASP.

Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache The Swaggies adopted by Gonefishen07.

This would be our first cache of the day and after searching many holes finally just as we were about to give up Gnome5580 checked in one last place and there we go! So happy to find this one! TFTC!

19-Nov-21
Great hide. Very clever placement. We searched in every hole. Even the spidery ones eww.
I loved the crochet wreaths places for remembrance day.

05-Sep-21
Tricky little hide and hard to be subtle but we found it while waiting for Geograndie to be picked up.

Practising Covid Safe caching while having our allowed exercise is helping with the lockdown, masks and sanitiser always used.

Stay safe

Yay! The last find for the day.
Thank you!

I liked this one! It didn’t take too long before I snaffled this cache. Very well hidden. Thank you!

I drove Aquilus1 around Victoria, it was a great trip and some great sights were seen. It was actually very relaxing not being involved in where/what we were collecting....I should do it again sometime. Thanks for making me come, it cheered me up no end.

Sorry for the generic log.... all answers (if any) sent by Aquilus1

Today, RoamingHowie and I decided to go and explore part of Sth Gippsland.
Oh no! Not one of these!
We set about systematically searching one side each. Thankfully it wasn’t long before RH put his hand on it.
Thanks for your contribution to our gameboard, Gonefishen07

17-Apr-21
This was my first weekend in Melbourne for months, owing to some birthday and other engagements. Saturday was free however so I teamed up with OzHockeyChick to go exploring for the day.

Fortunately this wasn’t the usual needle in a haystack. There was certainly a broad when we first arrived at GZ. Didn’t take too long to locate.

Thanks Gonefishen07 for the cache.

15-Apr-21
Couldn't find it. Not sure exactly where it was supposed to be. Looked all over the Cannon as that's where the navigation said it was.

14-Apr-21
Found it TFTC

14-Mar-21
Was wondering about the name until we drove past... oh no! Don't normally have much luck and almost didn't but only a few minutes in the cache was found in a place I had already checked.

Trip log: I have had a trip in mind for a while now, a 'Victoria loop' which would see a number of counties travelled through but also visit the last active Web Cam left for me in Australia and a 2000 cache which would see my Ausmer complete! A trip would not be complete without some company so a little convincing and a suitable friend was talked into coming along... and for good measure they would drive and keep me from getting myself into too much trouble while at it!

Counties featured high on my list, but each one filled with quality... oldies, larges, and types that where sought. As is the way the list led to a varied and interesting trip with some very amazing locations discovered along the way.

Day one saw a lot of distance travelled but just four caches found for the day, all quality and after a trip up Mt Buller late in the day we settled into the finest lodgings Mansfield had left.

Day two started well and the highlight among many was GC7A with my Ausmer complete but a great cache location and the gate installed for easy access was a hit. Our journey took us onto a number of locations and through the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It was here with the light drizzle that settled into solid rain that I was thankful of my driver who calmly followed my directions despite the conditions as I juggled caches on my list to replace the walks the rain and the 13 degrees weather had made too uncomfortable. Ending the day cold and wet in Dandenong the accommodation made up for the previous nights and the local pizza sure did hit the spot.

Day three saw a return to lovely weather with us driving the guard rail hwy... endless guardrails on all roads. Frankie the Gnome wasn't on the list but too hard to miss as we passed! Down to Mornington Peninsula and through some interesting locations towards Lakes entrance and stopped in Bairnsdale overnight.

Day four and after a little local caching around the 'lakes' area on another lovely day, it was the long haul up towards Eden. The 2020 fires devastation was enormous as we drove through the endless winding road with all the fluffy looking regrowth. Crazy to think back to that time and see how nuts it all was. Another full day but made it safe and sound back home again.

Many thanks to all the CO's for your caches that led us on an enjoyable journey through some interesting locations with great places visited along the way..

We always have trouble with these types of caches and this one was no different, must have circled around 10 times but eventually we got there.
Thanks for the cache.

Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch. Heading home from an event we stopped to find this cache. It took a lot of looking and a PAF to make the find. I should have paid more attention to the name of the cache. TFTC

While waiting for our dinner to cook across the road, I remembered that there was a cache here. Strolled across waiting for my data signal to connect and download the local caches. Then it downloaded, I saw the name and we knew where to look. While the family started the search, I find my hand on the cache in the second place I looked.

Thanks for the cache The Swaggies and Gone Fishen 07

Not sure why but I found 2 containers. Both contain logs so I signed both. Then I realised I signed 2018 on the first one so had to go back and correct that. I think it might take a bit to get used to signing 2019. Nice cache and nice spot.

Thanks Gonefishen07 for the cache.
Found at 9:51 am on 3/1/19.

Oh, boy have these logs been on the back burner……… with the combination of a long hiatus and my phone with all my saved cache data of the ones I had yet to log being supposedly lost. With my eng/comp sci friend who managed to mess around with the phone and recover the data….. hooray time to celebrate. So that's why these logs are so late…. either thanks for the cache and the adventure….. and sorry for the generic log.

31-Dec-18
All I can say about this cache, is thank god Feathertop was here to make the find in a spot I had already searched. Oops... Thanks so much for placing this cache Gonefishen07
