A plan was hatched quite a while ago when the Dunedin Mega was announced to come over to the South Island again.I have only been to New Zealand twice before and I loved the South Island. So a chance to come back for a Mega was a no brainer for me.Everything was booked and I flew in the Saturday before after a bit of a delay.Hopefully the weather improves as Im missing the sunshine that I had earlier on on this trip.So Day 14 of my Mega NZ starts and Im heading off to Timaru to check out that town and Im slowly heading North again.I made it up and over Lindis Pass and are now heading towards Timaru which is my next stop for the night. Not in a rest but a cache is a good excuse to stop. One car was pulling out as I was pulling in so I had the place to myself. Thanks drawp TFTC.
Travelling from Otematata to Kurow and on to Waimate today. Stopped for this one along the way. Took a moment or two to locate it. #7450. TFTC.
When we stopped in a couple of weeks ago, on our way to warbirds over Wanaka, there was a camper parked here, so we couldnt search well for the cache. No one here today so a nice easy find. TFTC
Out and about for a Sunday drive. Nice quick find here on my return. First time there was a muggle parked right by GZ so I carried on to the cache up the road and then luckily when I came back they were gone. Obviously a popular stopping spot as no sooner had I replaced the cache when a motorbike pulled up TFTC drawp
This should have been a good excuse to pull over for a break. Unfortunately, this whole area is a dog toilet and not pleasant. The cache, however, was ok but had to be very careful retreiving and replacing it. Thanks for the placement drawp
Quickly found. Some water in the cache was tipped out and logbook dried as best as I could. Thank goodness for WITR paper!
Thanks for the cache, drawp

Heading home after a couple of nights in Waimate. A quick find here. Thanks drawp.
In Queenstown to celebrate a birthday, so decided to take some time today to get out adventuring around this beautiful area while it is quiet.
Travel home day, and stopped for a quick couple of catches to break up the drive back.

On a weekend to danseys pass with farmerkeith and family. Awesome caches in the area. Thanks for the cache owners for maintaining these. Good rest spot. Had to wait for muggle to leave.
An early start on a big day geocaching. A quick park and grab.. and a wee spell. tftc

Pondering where it might be at gz then aha. Log is beyond saving. Saturated due to broken container and being eaten by woodlice. Put in a new log.
Had to wait a while as muggles parked right at gz while doing tlc. Grrr.

Went for a birthday lunch at Riverstone and spoilt myself with a cache on the way home! The log book is not in a good condition as the container is cracked and plenty of water inside. TFTC drawp
It is that the weather will turn for the worst late this afternoon so no time like the present to locate and sign off a few caches.
Stumbled through the long grass and came across what I had read in a previous log. It looks like a previous cache stood on it as it has a broken lid. Sorry, didn't have a replacement with me.
Cheers for the cache.

Ok - so returning from Wanaka I pulled in and reread all the logs. Learned what I was looking for. Put on gummies so I could tramp over the long grass and rolled up my best white trousers and what do you know, I trod on the thing that the cache is at the base of. Hooray, another dnf off my back. Picked up a TB as well. Thanks for the cache. #3554
Heading home from Chch after a family wedding.
Like others the hint object was not obvious.
Left a trackable - hopefully it's presence will encourage others to stop for a spell and follow their magic wand.
Thanks for the smilie drawp.

Aptly named. Ready for a spell and a cache to claim for a dot day, we pulled off the road and grabbed this on the way back from Timaru. The hint object eluded us for a minute or two, then the aha moment came. Thanks for placing.
Found with nissan 65. Flew in from sydney for a short holiday. Hoping to see as much as i can on the south island and pick up caches along the way . Thanku for the cache.
Nice place to stop and find a cache. There was a trackable in here too, QRZCAH. So have picked it up to place it up the road a bit. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalker on day 2 of our Queens Birthday weekend, on a most enjoyable Waimate - Kurow - Waimate round trip. It turned out to be a good choice to head inland as the weather was fine (though cold!) until we reached the coast on the last stage of our journey.
We had a sandwich while sitting in the car, admiring the views up the valley before braving the cold wind to look for this cache. It was hard to find in the long wet grass, approaching from the right angle helped. TFTC.

#15678. Up until this cache we hadn't noticed any wind, but here there was a freezing cold wind coming down the valley. I was happy to let Troodles brave the long grass and find the cache. TFTC.
We did have a good rest and we did have a good find thanks. Cache all good, TFTC
We have looked for this one several times, found it this time! We were never far away. Just had to find the right stump! TFTC
Nice place to stop for a morning tea chocolate biscuit. Easy find when approached from the right angle and trusted gps. Tftc
On my way from Timaru to Omarama, I wanted to find some caches along the way to break the journey. After filling up my car with petrol, I went South. I didn't see any rubbish, but I also didn't see anything that fitted the hint. At first. But I did find the cache, next to the hint. Thanks for hiding!
DNF So many broken bottles & rubbish all around the wee picnic area. I didn't want to search through all that & risk getting cut. Sorry for the DNF.
On a mission from Rolleston to Tekapo, Twizel, Omarama, Kurow, Waimate and home again. Found over 100 caches, which was the goal for the day. A bit drizzly for a start but beautiful sunshine through the Mackenzie. Thanks to all the CO's and apologies for the cut and paste.
Came back to have another go at locating this one. Got a bit wet traipsing through the long grass. Glad u had my gumboots on this time! Glad to find it second time looking. Looks as though someone else had been here looking recently.......by the trampling of the grass.....maybe they didn't find it though, as nothing entered in the log lately. I found it with my feet, well hidden by long grass!!!!
Found it! Not in the pile of rocks that look like their hiding a geo-cache either which was nice for a change. TFTC
Stopped here on a day drive to explore the region and find a few caches. A quick find in the first place checked. Signed log, TFTC
well what a mini adventure we had today, over the McKenzie pass, the Haka and finally over Meyers pass in the mini cooper, a bit bumpy but we all made it. Cheers for the cache. spent a bit of time talkin to a bloke on a bike who is touring around NZ on his pushbike.
On Tour together with Sabe73 as Team "TheBros" around South Island to visit some nice spots.
We also visited this location and could find the box almost quickly.

After a walk at Gunns Bush. BBear44 and I had lunch in Waimate and wondered over to the gardens. Then we completed an interesting multi and went on a bike ride. Now it's time to hit the road. There was plenty of room for the camper van to turn around and park.
Driving to kurow for the night collecting a few caches along the way. Enjoying the nice sunny day with my buddy Nosynel. Cheers for the cache.
Travelling around the South Island. Hoping to find a couple of cache each day. I thought the three on this corner area would be good. But first we had to wait for the farmer to move his herd of cows to another paddock. And then do the find. And the last of these three I am sure has gone as there is major drain works right at the post....
thank you for the cache and another smiley face.

Today I needed to travel down to Omarama for work. I've never been along this road before so it made sense to travel along here and to grab a cache or two along the way. This didn't take long to track down so after a quick bit of rummaging I signed the log on 19 May 2015 15:52:00 and headed on my way again.
First day of two days trip from Christchurch to Invercargill via Cromwell. Cache 22 of 72 today. This is part of my challenge to find as many 'minutes' for a 400-minute challenge cache, with most caches being straightforward finds. Thanks for the cache.
No time for a break, find the cache and onwards to the next.
Found with DebsNZ and Aoraki.

A bit smelly at GZ with a herd of cows across the road. Found with Aoraki Sheep and Woody104
This was another one that Woody had in hand before anyone else had gotten out of the car. Found with debsnz and Woody104
Nice easy find even though there was a muggle having a spell nearby. Thank goodness for this one as we had had a bad time of it in Waimate.
Every day we are traveling around is same but also different. Today we had again the pleasure to visit some very beautiful spots and were also able to find nearly placed geocaches. I thank every single owner for placing it and giving us with doing this an other good reason to come here.
Mallorcatommy and I were on our journey through the southern island of New Zealand. With the help of geocaches we came to so many beautiful places, saw breath-taking landscapes and had, all in all a very wonderful journey! Thank you to all owners for placing all those nice geocaches!
Stop on the way down to the hydro lakes for a camping trip with the family. TFTC
Thank you for the cache. We were with my wife on long trip around south east Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The caches showed us so many nice places.
