Afraid this is a DNF for us today Out with little blue wren
Hopefully we will get it next time we are over here
Hopefully we will get it next time we are over here
Spent 30+ minutes today to no avail. Either my GPS is completely off, or my systematic skills are useless, or it’s not there… Will need to return again.
Will return when I have more time but still managed a thorough search using a probe and came away empty handed
Could not find it in the limited amount of time I had before I had to head home,
Will try come back one day to check it out again

I had some time off work and with my new pup now old enough to come geocaching I thought I would give this one a go. I got here and didn't know where to begin and to my surprise it was in the first place I looked must be my lucky day tftc
Getting back into caching again, was in the area and thought I’d try my luck.
I have to say, it’s not the most comfortable seat…
Interesting art work and a tricky little hide.
Take a step back and you might just see where it’s hiding…
Coords are reasonably accurate.
Good luck!

Far out, what a tricky one. Great idea for a cache placement though. King George and I were stumped for ages before we got lucky
Early start today after dropping my daughter at Uni and trying to fill in a couple of hours caching. What an interesting site with sooooo many possible hiding spots.
Cache in good condition

Nice day out looking for some excercise. This one almost had me stumped. I'm glad I found it, it was an awesome cache to find!
Unable to find. Didn't have long to look though due to lots if activity around and funny looks I was getting
Not to be beaten I circled back and found the place empty this time. 10 minutes of searching first time resulted in nothing. This time...found it in 30 seconds. Spotted something a bit out of place and one quick lift later, had cache in hand.
Thanks for this cache. When tassie expat and I saw the surroundings we prepared for a long systematic search, but the coords were good enough that we had it in minutes. An interesting place, thanks again.
Out for a stroll on a hot evening. Can't really work this sculpture out in our heads lol A quick find with us starting at either end. Thanks for bringing us here. TFTC
GPS was all over the place but eventually found thanks to previous logs and some diligent searching. As with many treasures, there was a dragon nearby.
Found . Log very wet. Beautiful day, so we left it dry whilst admiring the sculpture. Log nearly full.
No luck for us, despite looking in every nook and cranny. All we saw were a lot of snails and a lot of rubbish. Great sculpture though. Thanks for bringing us to this spot!
I have been keen to get back out onto the bike and to tackle the caches i and around the M80 bike trail, United Hill and the Plenty park lands. I have driven past this interesting sculpture a number of times and have been keen to have a look. Not sure of the Red Gum link... I need to look more closely. Perfect coords led me straight to this clever hide. A good spot for a photo. BTW the log is full and completely saturated so no chance to sign. Needs a CO check. Thanks for bringing me here. TFTC
Kato Potato and I had booked accommodation in Mill Park for the Whittlesea MEGA event.....non-refundable accommodation which thankfully opened up to us regional Victorians this very week. Despite not being able to attend the now-cancelled MEGA, we got back in the saddle of geocaching and realised how much we'd missed it in 2020.
After driving in from Gippsland, this was our very first stop of the weekend. It took some time, stealth and many things removed before I happened upon the right one. Good to start the caching weekend without a DNF. TFTC 80degrees

After a particularly long caching hiatus thanks to COVID-19, Mummy Short Legs and I finally got to hit the road again for our annual caching weekend away. This weekend was originally planned to be celebrated with the nearby Mega event, cancelled for obvious reasons. We still had an accommodation booking though and thought waste not, want not! A great weekend away and an opportunity to just enjoy the area.
This was our first find for the weekend. Had to brush off the stealth and hunting skills again here, with some landscaping happening at a nearby property. Thankfully MSL had her eye in and her GPS on point and she eventually unearthed this tricky hide. Very wet log but we made a mark. Thanks for the cache 80degrees.

My first cache since sometime early July and it was a nice feeling to be out among them again.
This was the starting point for what ended up being a long walk in Plenty Gorge. The GPS was bouncing around a bit here, but it was always clear at least roughly where it would be. After quite a bit of testing, I saw something interesting and it turned out to be a nice clever hide.
Unfortunately the O ring is gone on this bison and it was very wet inside. I was able to sign somehow, but it does need some maintenance. TFTC

Now we are allowed to go out for any reason Geocaching is now allowed so enabling our caches
Due to the covid lockdown in Melbourne we are disabling all affected caches. If anyone logs a find during this period logs will be deleted
Nice hiding, i saw it not sure how to get it then had it in my hand, good idea with the hole in the rock
With restrictions lifted enough to now allow geocaching am enabling all our caches
Disabled for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis. We are being asked to stay at home. Geocaching is a game and we are dealing with a serious health issue so please stay at home.
We are being responsible and disabling all our caches until this crisis passes.

On my way to plenty gorge on this unusually hot October day. Great hide here. Unfortunately the coords were jumping around so I ended up all over the place. Don’t wanna trample on everything but that sometimes happens. Great hide. Found it quicker than expected once the coords stopped jumping. All good here. Fav in. Cheers!
Came back for a second attempt and was successful today. The geokid found it! Awesome hide. Very clever indeed! TFTC 80degrees
We came to do this as our first cache of the day, at 8.50 but decided we didn't have enough brain power to do this first off, so went and found some others and came back. Day1976 found it.
Ilukaperi and I were on our now regular Sunday caching run, this time our sites were set on Plenty Gorge, because there are plenty of geocaches, plenty of hikes and plenty of GORGEous views (there was also PLENTY of fun, laughter, dad jokes and resounding groans).
This had been our first cache for the day. But as has become a tradition, we couldn't find it. I think you have to season your eyes in for a caching day. It's not like it had been a while since we had found a cache, we had both been night caching only the previous night, but whether it was bleary eyes, or the GPS gods not being awake yet, we couldn't find it.
So we took off and found some others before returning to the car and before driving on to our next destination we decided to have one more look.
Still took a bit of hunting around until...
OMG, yes, I found this one....
Wahoo
This almost never happens.
Anyway, great hide, loved the execution. Well done.
TFTC!

Well, this is my first Geocache in Australia. A very nice hide in a nice place. Thus, I am leaving a favorite point.

I wonder how much use this little reserve gets - it's an interesting sculpture, but the space isn't that inviting to people. Which suited me this evening, because I could search quietly without being disturbed. It didn't take too long to find the clever hide. Thanks 80degrees
A very clever and tricky hide. Shufflehop was on the job and we got lucky and found the cache relatively quickly, Good because you could be here for hoirs.
Tricky find but after a bit of a search found it - nice place. This is one of reasons I really like going out looking for Geocaches, it takes you places you never would have found myself. I was riding around today find a few of these during a great day to be out and about.
After driving past this area several times we decided to make a day of it exploring the gorge and surrounds. This is some surprising bushland seemingly in the middle of suburbia. With Jacko and Anikano we wandered around by car and on foot, through rain and shine, ending the enjoyable day out with **plenty** of finds.
We took a break from the woodlands and went into town just before lunch. This was a nice surprise - a very appropriate hide and an intriguing sculpture.
Thanks for the crafty cache, 80degrees.

I like to mix my caching up, so today decided to head somewhere new. That big piece of bushland I always happen to drive past on the way to the Yarra Valley! An awesome day out with Geobuddies Anikano and Pacman. Can't beat the feeling of cleaning out a park! Thanks to the Co's for all the efforts in placing these caches
Nice sculptures here and even better hide - fantastic spot for a cache. Thanks!

After a few weeks of local caching it was time to hit the road again to try and clear out a new area. No one i’d rather be out caching with than geobuddies Pac-Man and Jacko83. Even though the bureau stated rain was to be expected we took the risk. Glad we did as the small bits of spitting rain we experienced were actually welcomed as we totalled 25km of walking all up as we set out to grab every cache out in this paradise amidst suburbia.
While driving to a different area of the Gorge, we decided to drive by this one on the way! What a simple but effective hide. Well camouflaged. TFTC.

After having arrived here from a nearby cache on the bike path I could see that this could be a bit of a mammoth task. Fortunately the coords were spot on and the cache was found in the fourth place I looked.
I think the execution is deserving of a FP for it's simplicity and cleverness.

Headed out tonight with Trailstevo for stomp around plenty gorge and surrounding. Plenty of roos about tonight and heard a Southern Boobook but other than that it was quiet on the wildlife front. Always good to get out a put a few smileys on the map. TFTC
Cleaning up the map in the Plenty Gorge area saw Gunks and myself picking up a few drivebys as well as about 6kms of walking amongst the roos. Great hide. TFTC
Well it’s nice to have a first. This is the first time I have found an 80degree cache THE FIRST TRY. I can see how this would be painfully hard for some but I guess the Geo Gods where looking down on us today.
Found on 28 May 2018 at 1:45 pm.
With another day off to keep my annual leave days low so as to be given bonus holidays I headed out on the bike in the perfect overcast weather so no sun screen was required. I had never been over this area of the city and was keen to check out this bushland and it's surrounds. Much steeper than I expected in some locations but some cool caches were found. It was awesome on Monday with virtually no muggles where ever I went compared to sometimes on the weekends when it is crazy.
After a ride around the bush for a little while and then a ride along the M80 I stopped here and parked the bike and got extremely lucky and made the find in seconds. I spent ages today on some difficulty 1 caches so it was nice to get one back. Nicely hidden though.
Thanks 80degrees for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

The log below was a one off special permission because the cacher had approached us before attempting to log. This was greatly appreciated and also as he was an overseas visitor so coming back was not possible but he also new that taking a picture is not normally accepted as a find. This is an exception!! So please don't be disappointed if you do something similar and your log is deleted.
Final stop for the night, before heading to dinner. The CO has given me permission to claim the find although I did not signed the log since my pen was not working. An e-mail with a photo of the cache was sent to the CO to proof that I found the cache. TFTC.
Not a super hard one, looked in the wrong spot, then the wrong spot again, then happened on it
Sometimes you just get lucky with caches. I saw GZ and the description of "well hidden bison tube" and thought this could take a while. But what do you know. The first this I touched and I hit paydirt! So this was a very quick one indeed. Tftc.
Found it without too much trouble. I beat my grandson Cooper to this one. I nice imaginative hiding spot. TFTC
As we approached the sculpture my stomach was churning as I thought we where in for a long search, none the less the gps was leading us very close to the cache. A quick look and we we had it in our hands.a very nice hide. TFTC
#2688 We happened to be downtown today visiting from the bush. We chucked the geobikes in the back of the car and decided before heading back home to grab a few local caches on a lovely arvo in the land of Plenty .
Not wanting to end the day on a dnf, we stupidly came to this one . In the end Mr BGF got out the geophone and it was pointing to a different spot to the GPS and he caught the smallest of glimpses of the shiny cache when at 0 metres. Wow, that could have been a different outcome. Pride restored we signed the cache and completed this arvo's caching journey back to the geocar. TFTC 80degrees.

Our for a wander for the night with the geodog. This one was a tricky one, as expected, given the difficulty rating and comments from the previous loggers. Given the lateness and the cold, there was no one about. We took our time searching and finally found the right spot. Very interesting sculpture even at night. Bones? Thanks for the tricky hide.

Nice place for our last cache of the day. As we neared the gz I thought this could take awhile but the younger UTurned wandered up and put his hand on it immediately. Thanks for bringing us to this location
