[green]Find #6 of the day and Find # 5453[/green]...
Found this whilst attending a nearby Event... A fantastic day of events and caches put on by the Ballarat Caching Crew... A beautiful time of year with all the trees in colour and everything lush and green... Although it was quite cold today, the pleasant company made it warmer... A great day out made even more enjoyable as I was chauffeured around today by my son who just got his L Plates last week... So much easier just being the passenger...
A bit of a stroll, a bit of a search, made the find, stamped log and replaced again...
My sincerest thanks to BPJTHillas for the effort gone into this cache... I have seen many beautiful area's around this fantastic area..

Tagging along with some family and others after attending a nearby event while passing through on the way home to Wodonga. Thanks BPJTHillas.
Grabbed this one with sharkiefan before heading to the ANZAC dinner tonight. Having previously failed it she was a great help as a tall friend! Nice to finally have a smilie here although a PAF was required. Tough one! Thanks for the cache
Found this little fellow today on about our 6th visit. We took the advantage of someone tall in our tag along team. It still took us a while to find but eventually had the cache in hand and log finally signed.

Found with GemmaSiemensma. Turning DNFs into smileys. Got a hint on this one though. I was a tool for Gemma again. Tftc
Cache zombified.
I am definitely not tall! However a bit of gymnastics allowed me to grab the cache. Thankfully no muggles were around to see it. Cache in good order.
Tftc from ZombieCats.

No.idea where.this.was...need.some more.height I guess hard when there were.so.many.muggles there playing cricket
Couldn't help but laugh as Skitspig looked like a monkey swinging off things!! Palemoon Dancer kept the boys attention on her while Tarmac and I kind of walked around giggling! This was a joyous one to do! The funny things we do while looking for these! Thanks for the laugh!!
After a few of us cachers came over to check this out... Our tallest member swung around like a monkey to retrieve it.
Us other 3 women distracted the footballers in play! Then 2 of us walked off to keep distracting the players while tall monkey put it back! Interesting to say the least. TFTC.

Thank the heavens for my tall best friend! While I pretended to be interested in the football players, SkitzPig looked like a looney molesting everything... TFTC
I found this a few days ago I was sure I had logged it, apparently not. Oops thanks for the cache.
Find #169
Almost a year since I was introduced to Geocaching! What a great way to celebrate than finding caches where it all began! Thank you to all the cache owners who have made this such a fantastic hobby!
When looking this one up I heeded the warning and brought along a tall friend. We were both looking for about 5-10 minutes in high places but not the right one. Thankfully fellow geocacher Sarah from 3potscreamer was driving past and stopped to help us, otherwise we would have never found it or retrieved it! Thanks again

We were in Ballarat up from Geelong to do some caching, and this one was looking good, so off we went for the hunt, after a bit of searching one of the caretakers asked if we had lost something, we just replied nah and casually walked away, we did not want to let that beat us so we returned later that night and tried again, this time the coast was clear, so we done a lot of searching and finally spotted it, lucky I'm half monkey so after a little climb i soon had this one in hand, thanks heaps for the cache and the pathtag, great work and loved your path tag design.
Took a bit of searching, but found it in the end. Great hide. Fortunately hardly anyone around, but if anyone was watching me, they probably thought I'd escaped from the looney bin. TFTH BPJTHillas.
Tricky! Found by geomum, retrieved by T-geokid. Great playground for the kids, spent an hour here as kids didn't want to leave. Thanks.
7th find of the day makes 10 finds in the 2 days we've been in Ballarat. Thanks for this one! Really had to stretch.
Managed to find it with a relatively short person, meggymoo62. Still a tricky one! TFTC
Managed to have a pretty good hunt and decided on two possible spots, however the sports team training nearby prevented any gymnastics as I was short one tall friend! Had to move on as the sports team did not look like they were going to
Petit tour matinal ce matin avant le boulot, facilement trouvée, merci beaucoup !
Found on a wet afternoon. geo hubby was able to retrieve it. have been here before but didn't attempt it due to juggles parked nearby.
Need a tall person who's not afraid of a little climbing. Very well camo'd. Thankfully no spiders. TFTC!
An afternoon of caching with Dutch Frangipani before attending the Mid October Dinner Event. The day was cold, windy and raining but we still managed to find a few caches. Unfortunately we also had a few DNF's as Ballarat is inundated with micros with no hints to assist.
Made sure we had a tall person with us but to no avail as this one eluded us today
Thanks anyway 'BPJTHillas

Nothing like a birthday Geocache hunt! Happy 7th birthday, Geokid! TFTC, GeoPhans!
after a short look this cache was found then it was time to get it. Would have been funny to look at. TFTC.
Found 12:15, don't know how we missed this one the last time we were here [B)]
TNLN, thanks BPJTHillas.

Ouch! Quite a climb for the average person! Got there in the end though. 2 chin ups in one day, that'll hurt tomorrow!
Ballarat had turned on a beautiful day, and after finishing the Saturday morning jobs, what better way to enjoy the afternoon then to head out a get a few caches in. Headed over here after visiting The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
Almost deserted area in the area today, and all muggle activity was out of sight from our searches. The tip about having a tall friend was quite apt, and luckily we had someone who fit the bill. Couple of false starts, and we soon had the cache in our hands.
Then it was over to the playground to give junior geocachers a break. Thanks for the cache BPJTHillas.

Glad my athletic Geofriend was with me today. Sporting facilities looked very inviting. Thank to all.
After reading other logs of long searches and multiple visits we were very pleased to spot the stash in the first minute of our search.
Nice park and sporting area.
Many thanks for the sneaky hide.

I think I looked for this one a couple of years ago, unsuccessfully, obviously. After reading a few logs I thought I would give it another shot and bingo there it was.
Thanks BPJTHillas

Finally found this one, nice and quickly this time!
I would of at least spent 40mins here last time looking a few years ago
I noticed it was a replacement cache, so chances are it didnt exist last time around lol.
Thanks for the hide here

Driving past here today, we saw there were no muggles. In for another look. Armed with a 'sticky' clue from a fellow cacher, we located it very quickly. The table and the fence were used by Geodad to nab it. We logged and returned. Thanks.
Archie and I found it on our second attempt. Great hide.
Make sure you wear your tall shoes for this one.

Found @ 23:25. With a long weekend ahead, made even longer by a kids school curriculum day (and adults taking a leave day) a trip to Ballarat was hastily arranged.
After arriving at our accommodation quite late and unpacking, I thought I'd check for nearby caches and this was close.
A pleasant stroll, followed by an insta-find is always a welcome change, only slightly marred by a deep throaty growl from the inky blackness rumbling uncomfortably close to my exposed jugular during my walk which almost sent my primitive hind brain (and other bits) into "brown alert". Thank goodness for high fences! I made sure I gave that house a wide berth on the return trip.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache BPJTHillas.

A nice tricky one. Lucky we bought along of kids to boost up to reach it. Nice one!
I thought having a long back, would make the job easy. Didn't count on being blessed with short legs. We shall return.
I attempted this one a few weeks back with no luck. I'd resorted to the clue, and even though I'm rather vertically challenged I still didn't give up. There wasn't a muggle to be seen that day, and I had plenty of time, but eventually I had no choice but to come away empty handed. I had reinforcements today, in the way of someone who is much more agile and able to stretch further than I can. So I put him to good use. Co-ords on this one are spot on, and it was exactly where I thought it should be last time. Thanks to BPJTHillas
Pulled up to try find this one in day time apposed to night time like last time thought we would have better luck. We got here and didn't even have to conduct a search for this one as it was just sitting there on the table. We wrote in the log and placed in what we thought to be a suitable location near the locations given to us. It seems as though the geocache had a magnet stuck to it once, although this magnet is not on the item anymore. We advise that the owner of this cache to come back and check this and possibly put the magnet back on it aswell also log book only had 4 spots left so it needs a new log aswell!
After a number of failed attempts for one reason or another, today the find was made within 2 minutes.
The 7-8 earwigs that made this cache home were a heart starter as well.

Finally after 4 maybe 5 visits!
I came prepared today with everything I could think of to get this elusive devil.
That is :- Tag-along (who was on his second visit and is tall with long arms.), PAF hints -Thanks TheTaz. stepladder, tweezers, light, geo eyes and brain (maybe)
or
in other words
a car full of 'useful' junk.
No muggles were around thankfully. Tag-along spotted the container right where the co-ords said it would be. He retrieved it where upon I dutifully made my mark and it was returned to its resting place with happy faces all around.
TFTC and all the 'fun' BPJTHillas

We thought this would be a quick stop on our way into Ballarat but were still searching half an hour later. Some fellow catchers were already there hunting and it was only after they left that light dawned. TFTC
Sorry BPJTHillas for the generic log but I'm trying to catch up on my logging, I currently have over 1000 to log before hitting some powertrails in the US after the block party next week. As always I enjoy the hunt whether I'm solo or with some of my caching or muggle friends. Thanks to those who have accompanied me to make the day more pleasurable and many thanks BPJTHillas for placing this cache.
Really enjoyed retrieving this one had to breakout some monkey skills TFTC signed log at 1315
I hate that it was that easy!! After thee failed attempts and an extra clue from the hider we can finally log it as found . Thanks for a fun challenging cache.
After 5 times looking for this one we needed a hint from the owner. Finally we have found it. Very happy to click this tricky one off our list.
Nice to hear that it is still there. Thanks. I am enabling again due to last log.
Having had 2 failures at this one, both times effected by muggles, I was rather pleased to get it today. A sneaky but normal caching hide.
And I have just seen the recent logs and so am happy to report that it is still there.

Ok, with a few DNFs we will temporarily disable this one and go and check on it (when it's not raining) soon.
It may be wise to check this one out as a group could not find it even with a previous finder in it.

We tried to get this this morning while waiting for a group of cachers to arrive to go 4x4ing in Creswick State forest but alas we had no luck. Thenn when a few of the others arrived they also had a look and one of them was a previous finder and he said it is not where it was when he found it.
It may pay for this one to be checked out as there were about 6 cachers in the group that were looking.
Thanks for bringig us here. No luck againn for us on this one.

Had a look while the group for a 4wd caching day were meeting up, but no luck. Our only DNF for the day!!
While out with The Fiddlers when on a work trip to this area when we decided that we should try to increase our finds. The fiddlers helped with the navigation and I thought at one stage i was being lead on a wild bush trip but we eventually arrived at GZ. Nice area TFTC
Yay found this one been there a few times. but today i could see it but couldnt reach lucky Jod's is tall

Started out early hoping for a FTF out in the Brisbane Ranges on a couple of new caches but they had been found the previous day and not logged but that's OK so onto Ballarat and get a few more smiley faces. This was the 14th cache and not being tall was not going to be a problem as if your a regular attendee at the gym this guy will give you no grief.
Retrieved by hand and returned using one of my tools after the log was signed. This is indeed a wonderful area full of every thing that the communities around this area requires.
Thanks to BPJTHillas for showing me this location.
