WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 10 - Cleve to Port Lincoln via Port Neill and Tumby Bay. My short days continue and I spent a bit of time around Cleve before I got under way. Plenty of roadside caches along the highways. I ventured into Pot Neill, Tumby Bay and Port Louth to check out the villages. As ever I would have loved to have stopped for lunch or dinner in each one, but I stuck to the plan and made it to the caravan park in Port Lincoln. Once I was set up I went and did a few more caches on the edge of town. A couple more Counties today. I'll spend another day here tomorrow before heading North West to th Nullabor over a few days after that.Just of the main highway, but the bush could be anywhere. The back road made for easy access and I soon found this cache. Thanks for the cache wheres_wolly_sharon46628.33 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2006 Stars #2 - Aquilla A#50**Albida**

After going at this from the wrong direction, I finally had the right idea! Picked up a TB too TFTC
We had a really fun day caching around Port Lincoln with ilook4geo. Some roads gave the most beautiful views of the very green scenery, the yellow of the canola and water views as well.
This cache was one of the ones we found and all was replaced as it had been found once both names had been added to the log. Thank you to wheres wolly for placing this cache for is to find today.

So very tight about those midges. There was an incredibly wonderful smell coming from nature here. It was nature's perfume. TFTC
This weekend, I joined gridge98 on a trip to Eyre Peninsula, primarily visiting Port Lincoln and its surroundings. We saw its famous marina full of trawlers, and we also ended up visiting Coffin Bay and enjoyed fresh oysters. A nice weekend with weather, and certainly a great vicinity to see.
After having a successful day yesterday, we awoke with motivation and optimism for the day that was ahead of us. However after having our first geocache find, a rock had hit the vehicle's oil sump, leaving the car inoperable and requiring the car to be towed to a mechanic in Port Lincoln. The morning was then spent addressing the vehicle's repair plan, and then trying to salvage the remainder of our weekend's plans. We walked around the centre of Port Lincoln, before finding a hire vehicle for us, and then the afternoon was spent driving around the area. It was interesting seeing Port Lincoln's marinas and also caught glimpse of the shark cages. We ended up drowning our sorrows in the evening (whilst celebrating gridge98's birthday) at the craft brewery, which was probably a highlight of the day.
This turned out to be a quick find, partly because it was kinda exposed. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. We ended up hiding a little bit better to be away from prying muggles' eyes. Thanks wheres wolly for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

A short detour to this one, cache was easily found and is all good
Well what a day it was, a day filled with more downs than ups and but overall a few caches were found in and around port Lincoln. Davidwazza and I headed to the Eyre Peninsula for a weekend away to clean up as much as we could and collect a few new LGAs for Davidwazza. This morning 2nd cache in we ended up cracking the oil sump in the car and having to sort out what to do and how to fix the issue. Lucky a mechanic was at hand and a prolonged trip was soon scheduled and a hire car was in hand. I guess things happen when you use a car for things that it’s not made to do.
Other than that a great day out.
Thanks for the cache

Good find. Reminder for cache hunters to replace as found as this one was out in the open and not under the rock and logs we assume led it was meant to be under.

Reasonably accurate coordinates and a familiar type of hide led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks wheres wolly for the cache.
Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
Camped up on the hill behind Port Lincoln, we set out to do a tiki tour of town, using geocaching as our guide, next closest all the time. This took us on a pretty roundabout journey around town, searching for 10, finding 8 and dnfing 2
Another quick one close by before we ventured further out into the 'burbs. thanks wheres wolly

I was down in Pt Lincoln with Laighside Legends for the long weekend and our plan was to head out and cache our way towards Coffin Bay and the surrounding area. It was a warm and pleasant day to be out and all caches that were found were in reasonably good condition. As it got close to the midday event we bumped into Mr Tardis and one of the nearby caches. The nearby event was an enjoyable affair, joined my Aussie M&M, Mogni and Mr Tardis, food was eaten and stories were swapped. At the close of the event, we continued to cache around the area before finally heading back to Lincoln for an evening event. It was an enjoyable evening at the pub to end the days caching before heading back to our accommodation in preparation for our next days caching.

**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
