Had a few looks now with ryanofoz but can't seem to find it. GPS won't settle on a point either! Got another 24hours down here so hopefully will have some luck!
First cache of 2014!
We were very happy to see this cache reappear as it's only a short walk from where we live. Thanks for replacing it!

checked this morning, it's been muggled - very sad as the container was a favourite
DNF... Spent half an hour... Pulling our hairs.... Where was it ... We ll probably never know.
So we were doing some touristic things at Phillip Island. Watching penguins parade and koalas just sitting in trees and it somehow happened that we figured we'd try to find 96 caches in one day after some of the caches of the day were successful. We planned on seeing the koalas and other animals and if we get 96 caches (a challenge in Finland) good, if not then we were just too touristic. It went pretty well to somewhere around cache #70 after which it began to be a bit dark. You know, pitch black. And only one flashlight and not even full batteries as when departing Finland we were not planning on doing that much of night caches. Well, @23:00 we were in Wonthaggi after "aborting" the railtrail for some coca cola (had to buy first) and some DNFs from urban(ish) caches and police started to ask what we were doing. Well that was easily solved and off we went for some more caches (6 short or likes) but during the last hour we got mainly DNFs and guess what. Another police patrol car stopped by to ask what we were doing. One more dnf after the polices went their ways but at 23:59 we had only 91 (if counted right) caches. And we decided to call it a day. (: Nice day it was. 150km of driving, 10+km of walking and ..
And to top of that day of 91 logged caches we did log all on wrong date (1.8.13) as that was the "fact" on first cache of the day and during the day there was no need to check the date. This was revealed on next day as we had already logged some on 1.8.13 with 2.8.13 and in the afternoon somehow realized that it is 1.8. that day. (:
For more "details" see the our first log of the day from GC:Cowes has one of these too! (GC33F1M)

Although we had made two short visits to Phillip Island in the last couple of days, today we moved to stay closer and focus more on the caches on the island. This cache took some time to locate, not because it was a difficult hide, but because we repeatedly ignored the obvious. It is a real buzz to hide a cache in the full view of searchers and for them to have difficulties locating it. Once we took a more detailed look at the area and checked everything, the cache was located. An outstanding hide with the cache and its contents in very good condition. Thanks for a qulaity cache hell+back - a favourite from us.
Loved this hide as it was not what we were expecting. Geodog enjoyed a romp around the beach as well. TFTC Hell+back
We have a holiday house nearby & have tried to find this geo several times. Finally, after tossing it aside earlier we have found it!!!! It's been put back in its place to stump someone else. Tftc
Checked today, it's still where I left it, although sand had drifted over it to some extent.
I think the recent DNFs might be due to Gonefishen07's tricky little container!

If its the se cache as davidman found - which I actually found its not here anymore - all the area has been worked on and where it was is no longer there
Found on a drive around Phillip Island looking at some of the sights while staying for a few days.
Well this one was very well concealed. I looked around the area and then honed in on where the GPS pointed.
Very sneaky and should be very safe too. Another not so quick find then off to the next one.
TFTC hell+back,
Roostaman.

We have heard about the lightening tree from friends and were looking forward to seeing it and clambering over it. A bit disapointing to see it cut down and fenced off. Nice neat cache, do not need to climb over the newly erected fence to retrieve it. TFTC.
Seem these before. Excellent hide. Found with grey ghost 69 didn't have a pen. TFTC.
Gps took us straight to the cache and we were surprised to find this sneaky cache so quickly. We got lucky on this one. Thanks hell+back
Standing at GZ, looking at the new pine-fence and new landscaping I was almost certain that the only way I'd find the cache was on the other side of the fence. But the CO's recent visit encouraged me to stay on the path and after a closer look around I found the very neat little hide. TFTC.
Suscoe's last find on a terrific week of Phillip Island caching.
Nice to finish with a hell+back cache as we have found many caches hidden by this cacher.
Another well done hide with a terrific bit of local history!
A favourite from us for a great location, great history and lots of caches this week. Thanks for the enjoyment.
Still a few island caches left to find so we will have to come back soon
Time to go home now!

the area has freshly been worked over by the landscapers, it may has be moved?
Found whilst on a day with friends in phillip island. Was able to do this cache and another nearby one (MEGA) with them, they loved the idea of geocaching. Found fairly quickly, but a great little hide.
MY FIRST CACHE FOR THE YEAR!

# 2674. Caching today with Robmc and the CO who is doing a maintenance run. We called at this site to try to find a new spot for a cache and as the CO mentioned Rob's eagle eyes spotted the original hide on the ground inside the fence line, but within reach. Amazing, after all these months. The log book was empty so I was pleased to add my name to it. TFTC and good luck to this hide!!
Way back in June I replaced this cache after deciding that the landscaping work I'd been waiting months for before replacing it, wasn't going to happen, only for the landscaping to suddenly happen and obliterate the new hide. Checked it out today to plan for a new cache here, and Robmc's keen eyes spotted the old cache container amidst the mulch which had been placed around the new planting, which was very exciting since it was one of Gonefishen07's which we won it at the 2011 Cape Paterson New Year's gathering.

Just checked in on this one again, and sadly, after waiting AGES for works to finish then deciding a month ago all was done & replacing it, the area has now been decimated - looks like a bomb went off, all VERY sad, my family have so many good memories of what used to be a wonderful spot ... at least there were still 2 lonely stumps left, which a group of kids were enjoying again now that the fence has been removed as well
anyway, this one is disabled again, I'm hoping I can come up with a new location rather than archive it

After a full school term with exam after exam, I didn't get to do much caching. This was all going to change however when I started to plan an assault on Philip Island. I started to think of which town would be best to assault to raise me from the dead after my abysmal effort in the earlier months. With 3 different series, a power trail, and a handful of other caches, Philip Island was the place to go. So I started solving the puzzles and making a few phone calls so I would have the best chance of finding a heap. I solved most of the puzzles, however some of them required a bit of a nudge or someone else to realise my error. I started to think about my route in a way that would get me the most finds possible. We ended up with 55 in one day, and 87 for the whole weekend which was a fantastic effort . The weather was very on and off for the whole weekend which made some journeys quite unpleasant, however on the whole it was awesome. The Nobbies was a definite highlight for me. We started off the day with the 'Pathway' and managed to complete it and all of the other caches along the trail in just over 4 hours. What an awesome weekend! Thank you to all of the owners who contributed, but especially hell+back and The Three Geo Amigos (you know who you are)!

Not sure if the tree has been prune since the cache was reactivated so the cache may or may not still be there.
It was raining when we arrived, and it looked as though the tree had been cut down very recently. As a result, we didn't really have much of a look. So it's a "Did not attempt" from me. Thanks for cache - I hope it's still there.
wee hee! this one is finally back
I was waiting for landscaping work to finish before replacing it, but months down the track it still looks sad but nothing further has been done ... even though this once lovely spot is now quite barren, it looks sadly like no more landscaping is planned
it's still got good memories for me, and an easier to find cache for everyone else, many thanks to Gonefishen07 - we won it at this year's Cape Paterson New Year's gathering

Doh! I just put smileys next to all my DNFs from last year and what happens? I get a brand new DNF!! I looked in all the places suggested by the hint and plenty of places far and wide and after 30mins of fruitless searching I have given up... Maybe I'll find it later this week, if not there's always next year

DNF... not sure if were just having one of those moments, but we couldnt locate this one, and there was a fair amount of people wandering past us, so we decided to give up - had plans to see and do quite a bit this morning.

After a stormy night it was interesting to read about the lightening strikes in this location. The cache was finally located, but not quite where we expected it, and the log duly signed. Today the satellites had the GZ 8m to the east of the cache location.
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt hell+back.

Look, Looking, Looking. Then one of my geo juniors discovered it while playing with it without noticing. All of a sudden...."Dad, here it is....in my hand!!"
LOL TFTC

This one was next on the list and we made it much harder than it needed to be by actually moving the cache without realising, then looking elsewhere, then coming back and declaring ..."how did we miss that???" lol TNLNSL And WOW to the tree!
We went for a walk to the beach but it was cold and windy and I had left my jacket in the car so we didnt stay long.
More interesting history and very sad about the woman struck by lightening!

We tried this one yesterday when we were walking to the chocolate factory but impatience got the better of us and we left it for better cache hounds. Wal had this found in under a minute which left me groaning at how cache blind I was yesterday! TFTC

Thanks to Hell and Back for taking us to new places on the island. Geokid is having a ball. Excellent Camo on this one.

Found by Mary & David at 1625. Cypress trees also always remind us of early settlement. The growth pattern made dense wind breaks and shelter for animals. Enjoyed reading of your childhood memories. Once more, our thanks to hell+back.

Well done. I love a cache like that and this one was a very good example.
When I opened the cache however something 'yellow' moved inside and I had to drop the container, screaming like a little girl.
It turned out to be a small toy (how embarrassing).
I think I need to change my underpants now.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks hell+back for this cache here today. A nice area, interesting cache description and great cache.

This one was sneaky not least because of that hint. Thankfully it didn't take me too long before I realised what was what and the cache was in hand. Loved the old tree.

decided that soon as hoiw had to do school run that on my way home would give this one another go as last time I looked for it it had been muggled. Nice easy find when you read clue. SL TFTC
Found while heading down the Bass Highway with C@H to do some caching. Had a bit of a detour around KooWeeRup due to some major flooding across the Bass Highway just after Tooradin. We even drove through a strip of road (along with two other 4WDs) submerged under water at least 600mm deep for a few hundred metres just to get back onto the Bass. Certainly had the heart racing there for a while. Eventually got back on track. Took a little bit of searching before I found the nicely hidden cache. Thanks for the hide.
An early morning caching run while the rest of the C&C gang slept in.
Saw the cache without realizing what it was at first.

Good spot. Introduced friends to the joys of geocaching. TFTC. Nice beach, too.
Located in the company of the owner on a maintenance run - this one is nasty and presented quite a challenge. Loved the big ole tree - its begging to be climbed on.
We were there at 3.40pm and noticed that the log had been cut - pity we didn't catch up with you to get the new co-ords.
I had an "in" on the new co-ords, so I got my chop in the new log soon after it was placed.
Great place, it is a pity they have stopped people from climbing the tree.
Thanks, Robmc.

This was cunningly hidden in a log, which has disappeared.
There is, however, remains of a rather suspicious looking fire on the beach ...
it's temporarily disabled while we rethink container & hiding place.

Very pleased to come back to log this one (months later) and find that it's been disabled. We had 8 people searching high and low for this, glad we just weren't in the wrong place!
