Have passed this so many times and not been able to stop. Today in truck so was a must.We are travelling to Kaikoura for the night. We're meant to be 4x4 into Clarence but canceled. Accommodation paid for and no refund so decided to cache on way here. Normally in motorhome so nice to stop and get some smiles. Thanks for the cache bumandworker
We were supposed to do a whale watching trip today, but it got cancelled as the whales were outside the area. Instead we set off to find a few caches. A quick stop here on our way north to Kaikoura. TFTC
Trouve ! / Found it ! Je n'ai pas trouv l'accs tout de suite mais sur place c'est facile Une petite partie ? 5230me cache trouve.Merci bumandworker pour la cache I didn't find access right away but it's easy there A small part? 5230th cache found.Thank you bumandworker for the cache
No tennis here today, but a lot of motorcycle going past, off to The Burt Munro event in Invercargill I'd say - TFTC
I don’t travel this road much but would never had noticed this place. Glad I spotted the access as I wouldn’t have like to take the direct route which looks like some have done.
Thanks for the cache, bumandworker

Second cache of the day. As with all of these, I must have driven past these dozens of times and ignored them, and in some cases, they were not even on my radar.
This one is one of the latter, I am sure.
Interesting spot. We parked on the road and walked on down. Place looking a little run down, but nothing a decent working bee for a day couldn’t sort out
TFTC B&W.
Driving back to Blenheim from Gore Bay, after spending the long weekend there.
Broke up the trip a bit with a few caches for me, and some shopping for RG72 In Kaikoura.

Having a milestone birthday this weekend, my aim was 50 caches. That was too much for one day so the 50 finds were spread over the celebratory weekend, 1/2 on my way South and 1/2 on my way North.
This was find number 33. I parked about 100m away before the mud and walked in. It’s been a long time since something was played here. Dropped in some more, dry, log paper too.

It would take a lot of love to put this back together again, or maybe it's a new version of the game that's played on hard/grass. Anyway, Andy and I went either side of the fence, he spotted the location but it was on my side of the fence. Lifted the rock and then had to wait for the lizard to shift off the cache before lifting it out. Made sure the spider went too. Tipped the water out, signed the damp log and replaced as found - without the wildlife. tftc
I write "WRITE NOTE" because it is a time when we can't go on a long adventure, so I travel in the memories of my visits to New Zeusemad. Of this adventure in New Zealand, I only stretch Travel Bug. Writing "FOUND IT" is probably not right anymore, it wasn't today, but I was here before. And unfortunately I won't get here again.
I am sending a beautiful greeting from the Czech Republic.

Nice easy one in a very cool spot. No tennis players today or for the last few decades either.
No love would be a more accurate description . Good place for a cache though, thanks .
Day 10 of my 2020 NZE (New Zealand Experience).
(My apologies for the delayed logging but I'm in catch-up mode)
Seeing as I can't be in America right now, I'm touring around the South Island instead. During my time here I am aiming to find as many of the TMGT caches as I can (preferably all 41) and also as many Virtuals, Earthcaches and Letterbox Hybrids as possible, plus any Trads or others that will fill a hole in my D/T grid, my Jasmer grid, or else the last 3 remaining Hidden Dates on that grid.
Having slept parked up in Kaikoura overnight, I awoke to a very fresh but otherwise beautiful morning. Today's plan was to drive from Kaikoura back to Christchurch to catch up with an old friend there before heading further south after that.
Whilst I would simply not be able to stop at every cache I was near on my tour (otherwise I'd be taking 2 years instead of just 2 weeks) I was happy to randomly stop at caches in locations that caught my eye occasionally to break up the journey, such as this one. That way I hoped to be able to add a few more Minutes to my quest to fulfil a Challenge Cache back home.
Once I had parked up and walked towards GZ, I had the place to myself to be able to search uninterrupted, and it wasn't long before I had located the cache. Finding no issues with the container or the log, I was able to sort out the usual admin before replacing it where I found it.
Thanks for placing this cache.

.Pulled off the road and drove towards these courts. Got a bit muddy and slippery in places. Quick snag and tag. Cheers. Pity its gone into disrepair.
Out with the Seagnoid, in the Seagnoid Mobile today, to Kaikoura and beyond, for another great road trip on a lovely sunny day.

Heading to Kaikōura for the weekend, with just a few stops along the way Ended up with totally soaked shoes and pants - own fault, I saw where I was going and could not be bothered to get the gummies out... The container has almost become part of the vegetation!! TFTC!!
Meanwhile this is my third geocaching-trip to Middle-Earth . And I love it! [:X]
Still there are routes and places in this beautiful country that are on the 'discover-me' list and want to be visited and explored. .
After a 3-days side-trip to New Caledonia I gladly returned to NZ , via AKL to the South-Island - Christchurch [^].
Day #19 was dedicated to picking up some caches / challenges / pre-solved mysteries around CHR-Airport and along the scenic ride up north to Kaikora .
Today, the day was my friend [^]! Not a single DNF !
Picked up quite some treasures - Just like this one:
This was a very special kind of lost place !
A couple of tiny, slimy cache-guardians were not really amused about the unexpected visit.
Thanks to the owner [:X] for placing and maintaining this cache and best regards from Germany!

Really enjoyed this cache. Some heifers found our presence very interesting, almost managed to touch them. Interesting area of things past. Such a shame the unused sets in. TFTH . A fav
Have often intended to stop and grab this but sailed on by always in a hurry. Today, with busy paws, we finally did it. The muggles were very friendly but not at all interested in the cache. #3467
I remember these courts when they were in use by local community.. Cache was well guarded by slaters
I had to get at least one cache on my way home and I decided it was time I grabbed this one. I love abandoned places and this place is so interesting. I can picture it as having been alive with competition once upon a time. Now the only competitors are cows. I slipped around in the silt and searched in the wrong place because I thought it was indoors, than I realised it was outdoors. Silly phone with its poor reception. Tftc.
Nice easy find on the way to kaikoura. As JsyBean was crossing the style she reached down to move a piece of wire that scratched her, I started to say "you know..... ZAP.. thats electric ay" LOL
So many times pre earthquake I said I must get that next time but it never happened, today I made it happen. I think the scoreboard is the least of their problems here. Nice easy find and no chance of muggles either. TFTC bumandworker

Found with NZDi. With the Christmas madness over and the extended family travelling near and far for their holidays NZDi and I found ourselves at a loose end. Not wanting to hang around home like Darby and Joan, we booked a couple of nights in a motel in Christchurch and headed off down the line... the newly opened State Highway One that is, which had been closed for one year, one month and one day due to the Kaikoura earthquake.
We were awestruck to see the power Mother Nature had wrought upon the landscape and were equally amazed at the engineering feats mankind had used to overcame Mother Nature's carnage. On our trip south we made a deliberate decision not to cache so that we could get a true indication of how long the trip now took. For us that was four hours and fifteen minutes including the three comfort/morning tea stops totalling around half and hour. A pretty good effort we thought and just over half the time it took us last time we went by the other route.
On day two of our visit we targeted a couple of areas to cache starting off with Hagley Park in the morning where after starting with a DNF we ended up with a 13 to 3 score sheet in our favour. That was followed by a walk around Roto Kohatu in the evening which resulted in a score sheet of 3/2 in our favour.
Today is day three of our trip and we are returning home. The traffic is a lot heavier than when we came south two days ago so that is going to make things interesting for caching along the way. As with all the caches we targeted on our trip home this was a QEF PnG. I've been driving past this facility for the past 40 years watching it slowly being reclaimed by nature. 40 years ago the nets were still up but even back then it looked like it didn't get much use. The only thing it gets used for now is a toilet for the cows. Been a while since it was last found but still in good nick.

I love these places and once I was in an exhibition about lost places. I shoot a photograph and give you a favorite point. Thank you.
We are on our way home not feeling too well, so stopping often. Perfect chance to get some caches along with the fresh air. I often wondered, driving past here, if there used to be a school nearby that used these courts. Tftc.
Chelzea and I on a day trip from ChCh to Kaikoura, North up SH 1 and then return via the inland road through Waiau. A good number of caches both on the way up and back but not as many in Kaikoura itself as we would have liked but a good trip never the less. Found many cool places and caches and thanks to all the CO's for their placements.
Cache and a close encounter with a rather friendly cow/bull.

I came over to New Zealand to meet my son, who is staying now for more than five months on the other side of the world. Our intension is, to travel now for 4 weeks through this fantastic land and visiting a lot of fine spots on both islands.
Met in Auckland, our first trip led us to the Far North with some spectacular locations. It was a lot of driving, but we think, it was worth the result.
The second part of our travelling route led us to the south. Going via Hamilton with some fine locations, Hobbiton was an absolutely must of our "unexpected journey" . Went then to Tauranga with a hard upclimb to Mt. Maunganui, visited Rotorua to see lot of vulcanic activities, have had a lot of fun with Zorbing and Claybird shooting and drove then to Taupa, to doing Skydiving.
Here we go: Napier with it's beautiful Art Deco district and the great Aquarium was the next stop.
Final destination on the North Island was Wellington, were we visited some great places and met some friends from Germany.
After crossing Cook Strait now we will follow the east side of the southern island down to the most southern point of New Zealand.
Blenheim with its wine yards, fantastic dolphin watching in Kaikoura, the story of earthquake in Christchurch, following the famous coastline down to Dunedin with its beautiful and interesting places as well as the nice city of Invercargill were our main spots on this part of our journey.
Of course, even if it is not our main activity during this holidays, we will looking for some caches, which are laying beside our route.
So this cache was one of those, we've picked up.
Many thanks to bumandworker for this fine cache and best greetings from Germany.

This was the twelfth day of my fifteen day trip to go to the Christchurch Mega. The gate was locked, but I managed to get over without getting shocked, again. TFTC.
Down for the long weekend so me and nightowl19 can attend the MEGA event and do some more than welcome caching in Canterbury. Have been down a few times in the past but nowhere near enough time to satisfy that caching want. We'd hit our first target yesterday when we found over 200 in a day, 219 was the final count we think teamed up with nigHtowl19 and Marlborough caching buddy G H 6 7 1 0.
Today is types in a day, 11 or 12 if you count lab caches, then time to head back up the line back home to sunny Blenheim. Thanks to all the cache placers who've made the last few days a success and added to our much enjoyed visit to the area. We signed most of our logs by the caching collective name of G C N or capperz/no19.
On the way North now, stopping at a few random sites on the way to get a few more caches. Good to stretch the legs and get some fresh air as and where we can.
It's certainly no Wimbledon down here. Brought the car down to the gate then climbed over, and got zapped again. That's twice in 3 cache stops. Ouch
Easy find at G Z

[green] At last I am on my way to the mega. Two weeks of insane caching in Christchurch. Looking at 7 Badgegen upgrades, a 200+ cache day and, of course, the Mega. But first I have to get there. It took me 9 hours to drive to Christchurch, pretty much what I expected, found 55 caches along the way.
Had three tennis court caches today, all seemed to be a bit... out back. the courts, I mean, not the caches. Although this was the most abandoned of the lot. Cache wasn't though. It got a visit from me.

Found on the drive north from Christchurch to Golden Bay. On the road before sunrise and I was timing the journey to be in Nelson by 4pm to meet dad at the airport. The weather was not too bad most of the way, but starting getting a bit dodgy through The Whangamoas. No players today. Great bit of semi abandoned infrastructure - love it - get it... tennis joke ha ha ha. TFTC (2431)
driving Christchurch to Picton, picking up some more minutes for my 400 minute challenge. Most finds were park & grab. Nice little walk into this one, yes, cows have been here. Thanks for the cache.
Quick find on the way to Kaikoura for the weekend. Dodged all the cow doings and made a quick find. TFTC.
We think cows have taken up this sport. Plenty of pats around. Mum got an electric shock (electric fence)on the way in - found the proper exit on the way out.
Crazy little place... felt like I shouldn't really be here.

We had some grab one passes to use at Mt Lyford, plus grab one accomodation booked to boot for the weekend- but a quick check of the weather report in the morning on Saturday showed that it was not going to be such a good weekend afterall!! The snow was almost gone and all!
But with the accommodation booked already, decided to still go up, just not go skiing, and do a hike and some walks or something instead!
Needed to switch drivers as we were driving up north - and silly to stop, unless you are finding a cache while at it! So we found this cache - pretty easily, except for confidently approaching from the wrong side!! Sorted that soon though.
And then could switch drivers more happily after

Saw the road in from above so did a uturn and drove in only part way up cos it was abit muddy and we didnt want to get stuck. Watch out for the stock droppings on the way into the cache. A quick find in the logical place then I tried to be a smart ass and shortcut it back but we werent sure if the electric fence was turned on or not. Thanks for the cache

BBear decided to drive up to the cache. She has a four wheel drive. It was the fifteenth cache on our Kaikoura Road trip.
drove down to this and wondered weather it was a good idea or not as it was a tad boggy, i was just a little worried that we might get stuck, never fear i have a 4 wheel drive. Ohno wrong side of the fence. all good here's a wee hole. No one playing tennis today just a little run down. Cheers for the hide.
Flew in to chch last night, heading up to Kaikoura for a night, found a few on the way, even though the weather was a little rough

Mudt learn to walk some places. Had a minor incident reversing out when my phone rang and I was distracted. Nothing that wont buff out. The cows thought I was interesting and followed me around but the rabbits freaked out and ran for the hills. Tftc
We've been laughing about the state of these courts for years. Finally an excuse to stop and a smilie to boot. TFTC
This one had us bluffed as we spied a dis-used tennis court and headed to there, only to look at GPS and discover we were in the wrong zone, back into the car as CZ was 300m away. Discovered the correct tennis courts, last used long ago.
As a child a Great-Aunt used to bring us to a farm in this valley - suspect this tennis court might have been used more frequently then....
This site is both sad and funny! Took the direct route through the long grass from the highway and saw other geotrails here too. Nice one, thanks!
