Arriving at this GZ there was a car parked so left to grab another. On return the cache was easily found. Would love to get over for the Wings over Wairarapa one day. Thanks CO for e cache.

It was time for our big push to complete the 250 Finds in September Challenge. Because we’ve done everything local, we needed to head further afield and the Masterton area was a good choice with plenty enough available, including several puzzle caches Mrs G had solved some time ago.
We stayed overnight too, to ensure the experience was not too tiring and more relaxing and enjoyable. So after a good night's rest we set off to complete the last few caches we wanted to find before we set off home again.
We had beautiful days for our trip with the Wairarapa countryside looking particularly lovely in its soft spring colours offset by a backdrop of high angular blue Tararuas lightly snow-dusted on their tops.
We found more caches than we actually needed so it was a very successful trip.

Firstly today we headed off to Hood Aerodome to this cache which was quickly found. While we stood there an old Fokker bi-plane with German WWI markings took off nearby and flew right overhead - that was a treat.
The log sheet was wet, but being waterproof paper we could dry it and write on it easily enough. TFTC

Quick and easy find.

After refuelling up in Masterton I decided to head out towards the coast through Kaiwhata valley. What a journey.

First stop is the aerodrome.

Cheers for the cache.

Nice stroll in the farmland to this cache was very simple to find, but the log was very wet and I was barely able to write on it.

07-Jul-18
Quick find in precarious position. TFTC skindo!

This one was a quick find, once the tanker truck with 2 muggles that parked directly opposite us moved on. As previous logs have stated, the original log paper is a yucky, mouldy mess. The latest replacement page had been placed inside the same plastic bag, so has started to grow mould as well. I've left it loose in the container to get it away from the worst of the water. A new log and a good clean would be helpful here.
Thank you for the cache.

28-Dec-17
TFTC easy find as it is exsposed. Log very wet have put a new pieace of paper in it

28-Dec-17
Was super easy to find as was out in the open. Needs to be put somewhere else.

28-Dec-17
This geocacher reported that there is a problem with this cache.

16-Dec-17
Another lonely cache that isn't any more so some more points towards the challenge.
All quiet early evening with a small amount of passing traffic and no aeronautical activity.
Log was saturated and mushy despite the long dry spell, I was only just able to scribe enough information to confirm my visit.
Cache is also quite exposed and there wasn't much means of rectifying that.
TFTC.

All good at GZ. Thanks for another smilie

Did you know that planning has started for a Mega Event in Wellington in 2018? Check out the details on the [Wellington Event NZ (WENZ) Website](https://sites.google.com/site/wenzgeo2018/home) or visit the event's page on [FaceBook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/590545297801072/)

Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn't be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn't take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code.

TFTC. After a pause for refreshment GSEL and I were on our way home. GSEL reckoned he needed just a few more to reach the magic numbers for this one, so we stopped here to collect this. Glad of a quick find!

#3928. Another big day out planned in the Wairarapa. This time it was Easter Saturday and Infoferret came along with me on a mission to find 50+ caches for another qualifying day for the DGSC challenge bulk find elective. Back in Masterton now after a day out on the back roads. Lots of traffic about after the fire works display. Parked close to the GZ and started looking with our torches. Infoferret spied the hiding spot. Signed the log and replaced where found. Thanks for the cache skindo.

22-Mar-17
Another day in Wairarapa on gravel back roads to find solved puzzles and some other caches around Masterton. Thanks skindo for the cache.

23-Feb-17
After a major road trip of 750km down to Masterton for the Wings Over Wairarapa air show the weather unfortunately caused both days of the show to be cancelled. However the start of the week was to be our "tourist" time to see some of the Wairarapa sights and the weather did improve to give a couple of cloudless summer days.

Today we head to the Manawatu to get ready for the Ohakea Air Force Airshow next weekend - hoping for better weather than we had at Masterton.

Before leaving the Wairarapa the two "airport" caches just had to be found and logged as it wouldn't be acceptable to miss both the air show and the caches. This was a quick find with very little traffic on the road.

Another one down. Cheers Skindo. TFTC

Mr HeMaLuDy attended a aviation related course at the Hood Aerodrome. Upon completion of the course there was a small window of time while his muggle companions visited another hanger. Mr HeMaLuDy took this chance and grabbed this cache. It was a quick park and grab with only a couple of passing cars to disturb the quiet Sunday afternoon. TFTC

On a trip to Wairarapa today to make a dent in collecting some of the 100 Wairarapa puzzles I've solved over winter. Left home relatively early to collect as many of the puzzles and other cache types that I passed. Lovely day in the Wairarapa today.

Quickly located the cache here. All good inside. TFTC

Found it with Team FIN [janahola, kapeka, laalaa & temyllyl]

We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!

Greetings from Finland

13th day on our geo-roadtrip in New Zealand, and caching our way towards north. Logged using our group nickname FIN with janahola, laalaa and kapeka. After having a blast in South Island and in Christchurch Mega event, we had to start heading back home. Fortunately we still had few days left to spend in NZ while driving to Auckland.

28-Oct-15

We left around 8.30am this morning and planned a big day down in masterton and to grab any caches that would be on the way, we have added paracord kaychains or block heads to the caches that would fit them in. finished up with a total of 33 and home again by 4.10 so not a bad way to spend a sunday and thank you for placing the cache, sorry for the copy and paste logs.

19-Jan-15
Found in the pitch-black around 10pm after a long day of caching. No muggles about, and this back-country road was spookily quiet. With less streetlighting the night sky full of stars was on grand display.
Nice quick cache find.

TFTC!

I left with the geokids early this morning for my first foray into skindoland, on an attempt to qualify for the 100,10,7 challenge in one day. Unfortunately I did not achieve this (but qualified with my previous few days' finds). All in all, I achieved my best day's hunting, collecting 61 traditionals, 20 mystery caches including 4 challenge caches, and one virtual. Many thanks to all the cache owners and players who make this game/hobby what it is (and apologies for the copy and paste).

Joy of joys, we get to enjoy another day of geocaching in Wairarapa. Even better, mild weather, a balmy Sunday almost, and no rain. Good for early May.
14 November 2010 we visited here and then logged a DNF. It's taken us quite some time to make it back. But this time success. Maybe that's down to the multitude of Skindo caches that we have encountered and found since.
(This time) a straightforward find; cache in order, log signed, safely re-hidden.
