Fun little puzzle to solve. Found the cache with MysterydoctorGeo. TFTC and puzzle!
Solved 1/5/241 May 2024 2:31 pmMany thoughts with this one..I solved it while waiting in a carpark not too far off, but all the while I felt guilty as my 13 year old has become a bit obsessed with this type of thing recently- maybe I should be allowing her to solve the puzzle. Nah - she can get solve it when she develops her own caching ID.I have heard of an unloved challenge....do I wait and see if this will hold out another month before being found and claim some points for the unlove? I probably should have, but I got bored waiting and decided to go for a wander and this was the closest place to wander to.At GZ the cache was found fairly quickly. Log book dry and still with some space left. The container itself hasn't loved the weather but is still in working condition, even with Fe2O3 present.TFTC
Had just been to Auchenflower to have eye laser treatment (!) but didnt want to break my short caching streak. So hubby agreed to drive me up the road and find this cache that I solved a LONG time ago. A group of people were sitting at the nearby-ish table when I arrived so I killed time by browsing the community library and checking out all the cute fairy houses! Well camouflaged hide.
I was out and about today looking at electric bikes and what they have to offer. Needing to keep my challenges alive I still require a cache for today. I was at a local store and went for a test ride. Afterwards I saw there was this cache in the area of which I looked for once before and had no luck. Seeing there had been some recent activity I felt confident that it was there this time. I walked up and checked my spot and sure enough it was there. I signed the log and replaced the cache as found then continued on my way. Thank you for the puzzle and the hide.
19/7/2023 Find #6316
I rarely plan my caching Wednesdays, often opting to just go with the flow once the day starts. Today was such a day, and I picked an area where there were one or two oldies I was after and decided to grab whatever other caches might happen to be in the vicinity at the same time.
I had this one solved for ages… or so I thought. It turns out it was slightly incorrect solvings as I had to do some quick recalculations in the field before I could then make my find. The container is rusty and has no lid so the logbook is damp but all still usable - the rust helps its camouflage here I will admit.
Thanks for the cache Zacgyver.

Found a convenient parking spot and made our way across to GZ where the cache was quickly found. Log was quite damp. Lovely park and luckily no muggles today. TFTC
I’ve had this solved for quite some time but never took the opportunity to drop in and grab it until today when we were caching in the area so we pulled in. Had a perfect parking spot. Crossed the short distance to GZ where we made a speedy find thanks to the hint. The logbook was wet, so we stamped in the first page we opened so as not to risk tearing the paper. Thanks Zacgyver
A nice easy puzzle. I drive past this cache all the time and have been meaning to come here with the kids sometime, but today I’m cleaning up some caches in the area so it was time to tick it off. A few people lunching here but they weren’t very interested in what I was up to. A quick find and as has been noted the log is soggy and hard to sign. TFTC!
A simple riddle and a quick find at GZ. As others have said, the cache is missing its lid and the log is saturated. Needs some maintenance.
I was thoroughly impressed by the local coffee spot.

After spending the day paddling up Nudgee creek, I stopped in here and made a quick find. The log was very damp but managed to me my mark. Tftc Zacgyver
Found it! Lid is missing but due to sealed bag, logbook is in great condition.
Thank you
Thank you
This morning, I joined a few friends mountain biking around the area of Mount Coot-tha, and hence left my vehicle at the botanical gardens in order to ride to work. So returning back to my car after work, I decided to detour past a few geocaches along the way, before then needing to travel for the Double Cheeseburger geocaching event for dinner.
I thought I would detour along the nearby streets in order to ride past this park, and then travelled down to GZ. I descended downwards, and didn't have any trouble in locating the cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape, although its lid was missing. Thanks karenhippo/Zacgyver for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Got in before the afternoon storm started. Container lid is loose but the log is in perfect condition.
After work i decided to pop in and find this cache on the way home. I solved this puzzle a long time ago but i must have put in the wrong coordinates as mine led me to someones house. No worries i just checked out logs and photos and i knew i was close and after checking a few wrong spots i found this cache. That was fun. Thank you for all the fun
I thought it was time to come out & avenge this previous DNF. Quickly found & signed. The lid will not hold in place so cache had been carefully repositioned in its hiding spot TFTC
I was nearby and came to check. The cache is still there where we found it previously. Coordinates are pretty close. Lid is loose but log is safe in a plastic bag.
I have confirmed with the previous finder that I was looking in the correct location. There is nothing there now. Could you please check?

Quite surprised to find this lovely area so close to a busy road. Waited for a park maintenance truck to move and then grabbed his parking space. Took a short stroll and found the container exactly where it should be. Signed and returned. Then time for the loooong drive home.
Solved this yonks ago and finally got around to finding the cache. I’ve driven past this park many, many times but have never looked into it. The gps had me going around in circles for a while but once it settled down there was a quick find. Thanks for the puzzle and cache!!
Quick little grab, thanks! Container might need replacing one day soon as the lid has broken
Ah. Mendeleyev! Brings back memories of sitting in lectures at UQ too many years ago. At least I remembered enough to fathom out this puzzle.
An easy find, and log is dry even though the container lid is detached from the rest of the container. TFTC, oppihnerak.

Wednesday. We were on the way home and I saw this unfound solved puzzle. Mr SP said it sounded familiar and he even said where we’d looked. I couldn’t work out why we wouldn’t have logged it, so we parked nearby and went in. Yep, this looked familiar for sure. Cache was missing last time, but we found it this time.
This was the 2nd of 2 caches found on this outing.
Thanks ***Zacgyver*** for showing us this place

A lovely little park. Thanks for the puzzle and cache. Put log in a plastic bag to keep dry.
Found but no pencil as we didn’t intend on geocaching on our walk today, silly us!
First of all my calculations let me down, and then my GPS was playing silly buggers. I’ve had a bit of a frustrating morning, but I sat down took a deep breath and did the calculations again. Bingo! Find was made. All is good here.
Solved a while ago, glad to finally find. Took a little while but spied nicely tucked away. TFTC
Cute name for this fun cache, quickly retrieved as per hint on our way home from the city today. Tftc
On our way home from a good bush walk I spotted this solved puzzle along the route.
Walked over on sore legs and soon made the find
Thank you for hiding this cache

Had solved this one quite a while ago and even though I have been past here quite a bit, I hadn't been able to stop and grab the final for it.
Determined to change that today and navigated over and parked nearby. There weren't any muggles hanging about so it was a quick find and sign here.

As scientist and chemist this was an easy mystery cache to solve , the final coordinates were perfect and thus the final was easy to find and log. Thank you for the cache.
We love simple mysteries - period. Began working this one out in the car park of the last cache, but then realised when we went to enter our solution that we already had it! Not a muggle in sight today, so the cache was easily retrieved from its good hide. The lid had been left open, and the logbook was obviously damp before, but is dry now, although getting slightly tatty.
This was so easy that miss5 found it today. She had her caching eyes wide open. Log is very full. Thank you CO for placing
I loved this simple little puzzle! I didn't even need to ask Mr STW for help, though I think as a chemical engineer, he might have enjoyed it. He was busy working so I solved it myself and convinced him to stop and look for it quite late one evening during our week-long stay in Brisbane. We found it quickly and signed the log in the dark. TFTC.
TFTC. Solved this a while back with a bunch of Toowong puzzles but only getting around to finding them now. Cheers.
This was one of the first puzzles I solved (nearly 3 yeras ago), but it wasn't until today that I finally had the chance to go look for it. It's a pretty busy place around here but I managed to squeeze in a park. As soon as I got to GZ I found the cache container on the ground, I think it might have found its way out of its hidey hole, so I popped it back in where I think it usually lives. TFTC, I'm so glad to have this one done and dusted
After trekking around Mt Cootha like a mountain goat I was about to make my way home when I spotted this cache on the solved pile and detoured around to make the grab.
After a day of walking through mud in the rain I arrived to see the sun out and blaring. I put on my sunglasses for the first time today and walked on in.
Thankfully the phone was playing the game and I was straight onto the hide. It seemed too quick so I stood around to try and soak up the sun but before too long I was sweating in my wet gear and a shower had my name on it. tftc

We had solved the puzzle for this some many months ago, and today as we were driving by, decided to come and have a look. Our first search realised nothing, not even a tree to look under! We had a quick look atthe puzzle again, and realised we had made a mistake in some of our numbers. In the heat of the day, the park was deserted so we sat and re-did the maths. At GZ, we struggled to retrieve the container from its hiding hole. In the end all was good, and we have added our name to the log. Thanks very much for the puzzle and the lovely park.

Noticed last night i had 599 finds, so decided this mini-milestone should be a mystery, as i've recently started to actually look at solving some of these annoying blue question marks. Having no general idea where to start, i randomly opened up mendeleyev park and an idea instantly started to form..
A few minutes later and i had what looked to be some pretty good coords and so today, onto the tredly and over i pedaled.
Of course, buckets of rain wasn't going to stop me, (although i did pull up under the shade of a UQ awning to wait out the worst) and so eventually, i made my way over to gz and with a bit a geocaching intuition, had the little blighter in my grip. All that was left was the obligatory rollcall followed closely with some chest preening and head swelling, a little happy dance and a crowcall or two and i was rolling on. Thanks for the cache karenhippo (zacgyver?)
Yeah! Find number 600!

TFTC. Solved last night but was wondering why it was showing GZ in the middle of the ocean.... Silly me put the decimal places int the wrong spot. Realised I had the answer the whole time

As someone who carries at PT in my wallet, I had this one solved immediately. It's taken me a while to make it here, but here I am! My caching buddy made the find, she's doing very well for an ex-muggle (squib? First year?)
Started off badly and didn't find this one by night so back again by day, rechecked my figures but still no luck so contacted another cacher and I had the last 2 digits of the E co-ords wrong. I still can't work those 2 numbers out. So with amended co-ords it was a quick easy find, had cache in hand and signed log then replaced cache as found. TFTC
Whilst waiting at the Wesley , I thought I'd have a look at any local puzzles I could solve. This one fit the bill quite nicely. Had it solved before the dr called us in, yay . After our appointment we made a quick stop at the final. GZ was bang on but like the previous finder it took some manoeuvring to access the cache. I considered leaving in place and accessing the log by just opening the lid, but it came out easier funnily enough with the lid open! Thanks for a fun little puzzle and tricky cache.
The puzzle was no problem but retrieving the container was a challenge. A special tool and patience was used to get to the logbook. Decided to leave it slightly more accessible. TFTC

I had solved this previously but hadn't been out this way to make the find.
Today after work I needed a find so I put it on my list.
After a bee line straight here I found it in no time, and even before it got dark too!
Quite good timing as I only finished at 5pm, and with winter hanging around it gets dark too early!
I signed it off and headed back home.

I have been searching around for unloved caches fairly close to home, and seeing this and another nearby puzzle fit the bill, I got cracking to pull some numbers out of them. This afternoon after work I braved the traffic to travel to gz and after waiting out some nearby muggles was able to retrieve the container unseen and add our name. Tftc and the love (or unlove??) Zacgyver!
Headed down from Toowoomba for the day with a few caches in this area as our goal. The driver needed to make a stop nearby and while he was doing what he was doing I worked out the co-ords to this puzzle. That was the easy part....now to go to the final. I may have directed him in the wrong direction but we got there finally. Firebreather03 and I made a nice quick find at the final. TFTC Zacgyver
Out for the morning with nikid1. Had solved the puzzle without too much difficulty the other day & were on the right side of town today so headed over (also handy for the September challenge). Had just come from a DNF so were very happy to find this one without too much difficulty. TFTC Zacgyver
Good to see high school Chemistry didn't go to waste. Quick find with only us and business men eating fish n chips (paying us no attention at all) there today. TFTC.

This is my Z for my ABC Challenge and a puzzle that I actually worked out all by myself, I am still a newby but am getting there, my geo-daughter KingKeyLocksmiths, got me going and made me do this one alone whoo hoo feel more confident now TFTC
24/7/15 Solved this one with friends one afternoon knowing we would need it for a challenge we are trying to complete. Today I was in the area with Marina25 doing a couple of others and decided it was the perfect opportunity to grab it. Unfortunately we were coming through at the beginning of peak hour so we missed the turn but a quick turn into a different side street and a loop back had us on the right path. We parked and headed in. Our compass took us away at first but soon enough the hide was found, log signed and now a smilie is given. Woohoo! TFTC
Solved this one a couple of weeks again and was waiting for an opportunity to pick it up when next in the area.
It was finally time for a haircut, and as such a trip to Milton. Misjudged my timing but managed to squeeze in the find from my solved folder
Thanks for the cache Karen.

I had solved this puzzle quite some time ago. So, after work, I made my way here. I parked nearby and wandered over to GZ as I watched a mum and her kids playing soccer nearby. I decided that I would sit at GZ and watch them for a while. While I was doing that, my hand located the cache. I signed the log and returned the cache to its hide. I then pretended to take a phone call and chatted away to no one as I walked back to the car
I was in the area and noticed this cache has been found since my previous DNF... so swung past and made a quick find... don't you just hate that... tftc....
Found with richliink on day ten of our Mega 2015 Stanthorpe adventure.
This was our last full day in Queensland and we had decided to seek out the puzzles solved before we left home. But, things didn't go completely as planned, instead we ended up a bit shell shocked from negotiating the vast Brisbane highways and byways, toll bridges and tunnels. Thanks for your cache Karenhippo.

In Brisbane with iluvtrekking for a day of caching after attending the Mega Event in Stanthorpe. We had solved some puzzles prior to our visit and set out to convert them to smilies and also collect some others along the way. We didn't get as many done as we had planned, too traumatised from all the on/off ramps and negotiating the freeways. Thanks Karenhippo
Worked out some co-ordinates during the week... had a hunt around but couldn't find a cache...
Solved and found this one some time ago, just realized today as I was coming past that this one had already been found. Cool puzzle, like the concept takes me back to Year 9 science
Did it again. Coordinates in my phone and in my GPSr were different from each other AND from the listeds! Searched the one I thought was correct but without luck, and with failing light and tiredness, we decided to give it a miss, go and check what I'd done wrong to get three sets of coords, and come back another time. Thanks anyway, karenhippo.
This was a bit of fun working this one out. Haven't looked at this stuff since uni days. With a bit of help from Dr Google we got there.
At GZ there was a flock of cockatoos feasting on seeds on the ground. We didn't disturb them.
We sat on the nearby seat to sign the log.

Find #1122 at 15:25 with MissGeosie and MissSuzieQ.
A nice easy puzzle that has been sitting on the solved stack for a long time. Today we claimed it.
As we approached GZ, MissGeosie spied the hide and then generously coached MissSuzieQ into finding and retrieving the cache. Nice work, girls! [^]
After we completed our business we had to stop for a play nearby. MissGeosie managed to land hard on her back, winding herself in the process -- poor girl. She eventually recovered, of course, and play was resumed
Thanks for the cache, karenhippo. I've driven past here many times and never even noticed this park!

A fun puzzle to work on. Lovely quiet little park. Have driven past here so many times over the years. TFTC
Interesting park, found it but forgot pen, will be back for another walk another day to sign it.
Be-aware, there is a little studio in view of the location and the little old lady came to speak to me about why people go to this particular spot I was looking in:) She was only worried if people were going to knock down the trees as it has happened already once regarding another tree as the council deemed it too unsafe.... So she is rather protective of the park:). Ps you can't see her as she is behind the windows.
Soooo... I sort of was trying for as many cache types as I could today but it fell over a bi when I couldn't leave work till later this afternoon.... Never mind, there's always another day . Due to poor planning on my behalf I was checking out nearby puzzles at the event today that I may be able to solve. I rckon i know exactly what to do with this one! Well, sort of.... got it wrong on the first pass but then I was sure I had it right. GZ says middle of Milton Rd.... Hmmm... Maybe not?
The CO happened to be nearby so I ran it past her. Should be right she says... ok... I consult with my support crew & realise the error of my ways... Now that's better!
A quick detour on my way back to work and I add a mystery to today's collection .
Thanks karenhippo, quite an enjoyable puzzle

Visiting from France to see family we decided o try this cache After a little research with boulist44 at the Toowong library we solved the problem and walked to the park. The cache soon found safe and sound. Well done karenhippo an interesting area to visit albeit a hot walk from our hotel.
Along with aussie pixie our last chance for an August souvenir in Australia!!. Especially during our visit from France
After a hilly walk from our hotel in Toowong we eventually found the cache safe and sound.
Well done karenhippo for firstly making us work out the clue ( thanks to the library for finding the information for us) and secondly bringing us to this quiet little park after the walk, still, we had to return up more hills etc but it was worth it

I needed to resolve this puzzle as I had lost my Word document with all my solved coordinates in it. I pulled up the correct material on the train this morning and had a good set of coords worked out in a few minutes. Had a quick look at Google maps to see where I was heading, and started the walk.
Found GZ easily enough, so I took a seat to suss out the area. There were a few women with canvasses at the nearby shed, though they seemed largely uninterested in what I was doing. There was not a lot to go on here, though I noticed something slightly out of the ordinary. I casually bent down to inspect it, and was pleased to find the cache in the first place I looked. I took it back to the bench to sign after struggling with the lid. Even at my age these child safety caps can trick me.

Had solved the puzzle a week ago but left coords at home so blindly searched for this one, and found it after about 15 mins. Tftc and happy international geocaching day!
I must have had something slightly incorrect as I had to resort to a process of elimination in the park.
