A nice quick multi but unfortunately I couldn't find the cache (the fence limits the places you can search, maybe my arms were just too short to reach?). On a misty morning the location seemed so magical, a beautiful place to walk, so thanks anyway, maybe another time...
Couldnt find it, and last two cachers have also not found it, so may be worth the owner checking if its still there. Great one for the kids though, nice easy walk and simple to work out the coordinates.
\_()_/Non Trouve / Not found Rien trouv ici. C'est pas faute d'avoir cherch. Le spot semble assez facile mais rien, pas de bote proximit. Dommage...Nothing found here. It's not for lack of looking. The spot seems quite easy but nothing, no club nearby. Damage...
I wanted to clear out the park today, but that will have to wait for another day because I could not for the life of me find this cache. Most likely an issue on my end, but I thought I made a pretty thorough search.
Last one for the day before hopping on the train back to Petone. I enjoyed the walk through the bush although it was starting to get a little bit dark and I was quite aware that I was on my own so tried to do it quickly. Luckily this was a straightforward multi and I soon had a reasonable set of coordinates that took me pretty much straight to where the cache was hidden. It is very wet inside and I wasn't able to sign the log, but I've taken a photo for proof if the CO requires it. Otherwise, thank you for placing this one here to show me this nice trail, and for another cache type to end today's adventure!

Nice and easy multi.
Loved the walk.
Log was wet, cache contained water.
Tipped water out, dried Log as much as possible.
Signing is a little faded because of it.
Cheers.
Sleepy was here!

Great little walk to this one, and thank you for placing this. Cache is completely sodden and manky- didn’t want to touch it once opened, so have taken a photo as evidence of the find if the CO needs this. Replaced as found. Found with Griffinator. Thanks for the hide.
Left the grandkids at the playground with Granny and took the walk to this cache. A very nice walk and a very satisfying find. Thanks.

A pleasant stroll on a lovely April afternoon. Straightforward multi and find. I added a sheet of waterproof paper as the logs were pretty sodden. TFTC
After not finding the other multi in this bush I was getting mildy anxious, as today is a multi dot day and I really wanted a multi. Although, let's face it, I have over 100 multi dot days - this will never get completed in a year and I don't think there are even 100 reachable multis around here. Anyhoo, Twig and I came for a walk. Stopped off at the bridge for a spell to join in with a couple of kids eel spotting then walked on a little further to find the cache. Yay! Found the cache! Another multi done, still over 1000 to find... Oh, right, I've already said that. And another day of my streak, now 537 days.
A very enjoyable multi that's nice and easy to do. Log is absolutely soaked and hard to sign. Thanks for placing the cache
In Upper Hutt for the day, a bike ride along the river bank and around this park. Thanks TheB0rg for the cache.
Nice hide. Much easier to retrieve. Love the walks through this Bush. Thanks again for bringing us here.
Hint item did not make sense but Phil made the find anyway. Now for breakfast! SL TNLN TFTC
Quick find thanks to the hint. Logbook dry but dessicated so stuck in a new waterproof log.
Odd nature walkway with gravel path and mesh fence either side, but still relaxing. Quick calc & find. Thanks for bringing me here TB!
Last find on a lovely morning walk. Loved hearing about the history of the stream. TFTC
I have found all the other caches in this lovely park on previous visits so this afternoon I came and completed this one off too. Always enjoyable walking round these tracks. TFTC 3 13,678
Nice stroll on a sunny Saturday with skaga. TFTC found as expected once coords worked out
Out for an evening stroll with DaVinciHunter. Lovely spot and a quick find by DVH. TFTC.
thought i could kill 2 birds with one stone on this cache, that didn't happen but at least i found the cache, tftc
In the area today so thought I'd wander the park for a few finds.
A nice quick multi, quickly calculated the required numbers and found after a nice walk. All safe and dry. TFTC

WENZ Mega Weekend is finally here... After experiencing broken sleep at our accommodation, it was time to pull it together and get out there... With Gap (of Fap and Gap) and NZFlossy...
Saturday: Heading back to the vehicle, we passed a group of cachers and they were obviously hiding something... The right place at the right time. TFTC.

Found with bkj97 and kiwi couple while out and about doing what we do whilst attending the Mega. T4TCSL Nice little stroll.
Day 1 of Wellington Mega
Today's mission was to register, collect lab caches, other events and hopefully 11 different cache types in 1 day.
Tall order but we made it with a few minutes to spare.
We also collected other caches that we had solved prior to coming.
Turned into a bit of a day so sorry for the copy and paste of logs.
Thanks to the cache owners for the placement of these caches.
Looking at the greater picture of the Wellington area we have only scratched the surface so will be back at some stage. SLTFTC

Busy in the woods today. No surprises.
Another Mega and the inevitable list of cache finds to log. Not really a chore, just time consuming for this old geriatric. My apologies for the repetitive logs but I will attempt to add a few additional comments as I go. Had a great two days. Catching up with other cachers is always great. Day one was mainly a solved puzzle collection with little blue hen and Kiwicouple. We also squeezed in a few adjacent traditionals and a couple of multis while participating in the CITO event in Trentham Memorial Park. Quiz night was a fun event after a very tasty roast dinner and we were happy to finish only 4 points behind the eventual winners. Day two little blue hen and I gathered a few more traditionals that we hadn't done close to the Mega centre. A few coffees, a favourite point or two, some frustrating searching at one or two and then off home for a rest. Thanks to all the COs for making it another fun weekend. Now to prepare for the Melbourne Mega in November. TFTCSL

It is the day of the Mega and we are hoping to achieve 11 cache types today. After the Mega registration we teamed up with bkj97 and Little Blue Hen to tackle our list of solved puzzles and the Trads along the way. Early in the afternoon we headed for Trentham Memorial Park to pick up rubbish, and collect a few caches along the way. Thanks for another nice easy Multi.
Well it's the WENZ Mega Weekend and a plan was hatched to motorhome (as we thought it would make a difference from sleeping in a car which is our normal accomodation method) down here in the company of HKCB, 11HPG11 & Alpenmilch80 and head for a few caches along the way.
As time was of the essence and we had planned to spend bugger all time at the actual mega but rather head for specific caches that we would otherwise not collect.
The record keeping for this trip was a total of 1750kms, (fuel = $450) and less than 100 caches, plenty of Beer & Wine and I still call it a complete success as we got what we came for.
Following just making it to the Fish & Chip Event we thought to grab a few caches around the park before working out where we were going to stay the night.
thanks for the palcement

Number 4 of 11 types today, found at 9:20am. I had carefully planned the caches this morning so that I could log the mega event as my number 2000; the next was supposed to be a Whereigo but I couldn't get the app to sync with GPS, and if I spent too much time trying to fix it I would have to miss some caches to get to the mega (and the associated events) - and sign the log too early!
So this was my backup choice for cache #1998. I knew where it was supposed to be because I had solved it and looked for it in June, when it was missing. So it was a very quick find today! We still had to hurry to the next one though...
Thanks TheB0rg for replacing. +FP.

As we were parked close by for the CITO we decided to look for this one too. A very pleasant walk through the bush.

I needed at least one Multi to go for 9 cache types in a day during the WENZ 2018 Mega event. As we were down in Tretham Memorial Park for the CITO this was the Multi that I chose to try first. Nice easy one to solve and only a short walk to get to the final. Quite a few others presumably had the same idea as there were plenty of signatures dated 20/10/18 in the log book already. Nice easy find. Thanks TheB0rg for another Upper Hutt cache.
Not so sure about the hint, and my phone (gps) was bouncing around. I started doubting the coords. Then some leaf litter caught my eye and sure enough a cache was underneath. Tftc
Finally it's here, the wonderful WENZ Mega weekend! My son and I have been eagerly awaiting this weekend for over a year now. My apologies for the generic log, but with so many caches to log it's the only way to get through them all.
So today was the BIG day. The day of the Mega itself. The day my son and I would attempt to find 11 cache types in 1 day, plus experience our first Lab Caches, and our first Wherigo. And the day I hoped to find my 1000th cache!
With so much physical ground to cover today getting to the different cache types, it was always going to be a lot of effort to get it all done, and our efforts were hampered by first having a lot of trouble with one of the Lab Caches and then getting stuck on Mt Vic trying to get our Virtual simply due to the quantity of cars attempting to do get up the hill too. There were Minis everywhere! Plus a few huge American beasts having a hard time getting around some of the very tight switchbacks! Then there was the stupidly fundamental mistake I made, of believing that the time of the Trentham Memorial Park CITO was half an hour later than it actually was.
So it was rush rush rush, trying to get through a ton of traffic whilst avoiding getting a ticket to deliver myself and the rest of my car's occupants to this event, knowing that our day would be ruined if I failed! But eventually we made it, and thanks to the event organisers generosity in letting us sign the log having done so little at the event itself. Trust me when I say that wasn't by choice!!
So suddenly, with the adrenaline calming down, a group of us were able to take stock of our location and thus decided to have a look around for some of the other caches available nearby. This was one of those, so we wandered over to search for it. The co-ords led us straight to the appropriate source of the info required for the final location, which was a short walk away. Once at GZ, it was a quick find, sign, and replacement before heading back to the car to zoom off to the next stage of our day.
Thank you for placing this cache, and for helping make this Mega a truly memorable experience.

Great time to catch up with other cachers and visit Wellington lLots of fun and laughs while finding lots of great caches Thanks to all the COs for providing all the caches and the work that goes into them. Solved this lil multi along with other team SEAC members and a nice little stroll to find the final. TFTC
We were in the park for the CITO event. After a quick solve we were off to the final. With so many people searching it was a nice easy find with NZTravellers, stik-a-crane, sethraven.
It's great to be in Upper Hutt for the WENZ MEGA. Our chosen special challenge here today is to try and find 11 different caches types. Along the way we appreciated the help and encouragement of other cachers at times. We find the camaraderie of cachers is one of the delights of this game.
Being in Trentham Memorial Park for the WENZ CITO Event was convenient for our challenge as we could get a few types in reasonably close vicinity of one another. After the CITO we came over to do this multi cache, #9 of our challenge. It was a nice straightforward multi, questions were soon sorted and cache found after a pleasant little bush walk. TFTC

In Wellington for the MEGA event and had a great time! Congratulations to the MEGA team for putting on such a great event and thanks to all the cache owners for the great caches. We cached with Sethraven, HeMaLuDy and Stikacrane today and had great fun driving around the place grabbing caches and attending events.

WENZ is New Zealand's 5th Mega Event ever and for months I have been anticipating in attending it. It is the first Mega Event that I have ever attended and sadly I could only come for one day, so early on Saturday morning my father and I got in the car and drove our way towards Upper Hutt for a hectic day of geocaching. In the end it was a spectacular day where we managed to found 67 geocaches somehow throughout the whole day, see a lot of new faces, catch up with friends and just have an altogether amazing time.
We had just come from Wellington, where we had attempt to do a Lab cache and get a few more Waves to Wairarapa amazing race answers. We were about 10 minutes late for the start of the CITO event but we still picked up a bag and a pair of gloves and started to walk around and look for rubbish obviously via geocaches like most people did today.
After giving our pretty full rubbish bag back to the event, so that it could be disposed of I told my dad to meet me at the street in front of the park, while I went and found two geocaches in the park that were near the front that I had yet to locate. I ran over to the beginning of this multi and found a group of geocachers already starting it, they kindly gave me the coordinates that they had figured out and we then began our walk towards the final location together. After a nice stroll where I was introduced to each of them and had a small chat, we arrived at the GZ for the final. We began our search, it didn't take too long to track down the geocache, especially because there was so many of us here looking for it. The logbook was quickly signed with all our names and then we were off to the puzzle cache nearby. TFTC, this geocache was very fun to find while attending the CITO event!!

Team BOP have descended upon the Wellington region for the 2018 WENZ MEGA. We have a lot of caches to get through so there isn’t a lot of down time but it's great to meet the locals, CO’s and fellow cachers. My online logs are largely cut’n’pasted because my memory has started to blur many of my finds together so apologies for that. We’ve signed logs as ‘TeamBOP’ or individually depending on log space and time. Lastly a big Thank You to the Team - TNXPro, Davidsonclan, McJandals, NZFlossy, FapandGap & Squirrel Nutcase and to all the CO’s that made this a memorable trip
During lunch time on Friday I flew into Wellington from Auckland to meet up with some crazy Hamilton’s (11HPG11, Cats&Dragons & HKCB) to spend some time at the 2018 WENZ Mega and then driving the huge campervan back to the Tron.
After a great hike, some yummy muffins and coffee we made our way over to the Hutt. After the event we stayed around to collect some finds near the event location. Easy multi and find. TFTC

MEGA TRIP 2018.
As usual with the annual MEGA event, we partook in our annual MEGA Trip. However this year was a little different from others, with much more sleep and a little less time caching than usual, but just as much fun being had along the way.
The general goal for the trip was to focus on all the new Virtual caches published over the last year, visiting Cape Palliser (for the Southern most cache in the NI), and Castle Point, along with spending time at the MEGA Event. With this in mind hiring a campervan from Hamilton and seemed like the best way to tackle this goal, plus sleeping in a car with four people, would just be too cramped!
The trip was a great success, and our goals were achieved. A big thanks to all CO's for there hides.
LEG 2: Virtuals and exploring Wellington: Todays plan was to tackle the two new Wellington region virtuals, plus a few of other caches we had on the must do list.
Found while in the area after attending the event. A nice straight forward multi in a nice patch on bush.

It's Mega time! This year we decided to hire a motorhome and travel down in relative luxury, very different to the last few years. Our team this year consisted of Cats&Dragons, HKCB and later on Alpenmilch80, and myself, logs were signed as MEGAHOAC. We went on a bit of a whirlwind trip round the lower half of the north island, chasing virtuals, earthcaches and anything a little bit different.
Nice little spot for a multi, starting to get dark now and wishing I had bought my headlamp. Luckily we had one smart person in the group who had a torch so we weren't fumbling round in the dark.

Attending the Wellington MEGA, great to visit here from the sunny Bay of Plenty, these finds have been found with my team members, which include myself, NZ Flossy, Davidson Clan, Squirrel Nutcase, FapandGap, TNXPRO and Philip.Perry and signed Team BOP. (To save room on logs) We are having a blast and gathering lots of smileys along the way. Please excuse generic logs in advance. (as I have saved the template using Cachly) Many Thanks to all you cache owners for the placements. Cheers
This was to be the last for me on the eve of WENZ 2018. tuolei and I had continued on from a nearby trad and we able to easily find the info required and strolled on to GZ. As we rounded the corner we noticed someone cautiously tinkering about and quickly established we were there for the same reason. Under tree cover, we weren't 100% sure we were at GZ but after a quick wander up and down, we zeroed in and I quickly located the cache TFTC
Our first day in town for the Mega weekend - and found this one with Jag50 and Merlot58. It was a nice quick multi and a lovely walk through here, thanks
Nice to get a multi after the F&C Event. Met other cachers while looking which helped. TFTC
I’m in the Windy City to attend the Wellington Mega with a few fellow Westies from Auckland. We’re having a great time as we explore the area collecting smileys as we go. Thanks for bringing us here, sorry for the copy and paste logs but am using a Cachly template to log as I go. A nice quick multi
With a group of fellow west Aucklanders Merlot58 and Bertie Blowfish To attend the MEGA and for a fun long Labour weekend’s caching. Thanks to all the cache owners for setting up and maintaining the caches. Sorry for cut and paste logs. Quick find with the hint
Found this one with Mee-mi after the nearby geocaching event to kick off mega weekend. Took a leisurely stroll to collect the necessary information and didn’t have any difficulties and shortly on our way to the final. As we approached we saw someone very furtive but fortunately it was another geocacher. After a little back and forth Mer-Mi found the cache. Thanks for the cache, all good here.
New cache container and interim logsheet added as previous cache had been muggled...
Calculated the coordinates without too much problem, and they led me to the only spot on the path that seemed reasonable - it was accessible from the path and seemed to match the hint. However there weren't any containers within reach.
Arrgghh, that is the second of two we couldn't find today. Any more hints please?
We had a most enjoyable walk to seek out this multi. No-one around except the birds and it was such a lovely spot. The cache was an easy find and the co-ords were spot on. Thanks for setting up this multi.
A great walk in the bush, great hiding spot. Cache is a little wet, might need some attention. Dipped our first trackable! Thanks
Nice quick multi. It only just occurred to me while logging this that is in the same park as several other caches I found not too long ago but as it's way down the other end and since I parked in the different car park I didn't realize they were connected. TFTC.
After a long day in class for the course I am currently on it was heartening to see that the South Island sun has followed me across the Strait (at last) and was beaming it's big yellow warmth across the damp and sodden Wellington area.Heading out ina vehicle lent to me by a very kind friend I had a mixed bag of target caches including the two nearby Earthcaches, a couple of solved puzzles as well as anything that I would be 'passing'. Quite an eclectic bag of finds, a down and dirty dozen and a maccas for dinner.
First up here and not sure why I didn't target this one last year on my 'day after earthquake' visit, I was all over this park but never came over this far. A quick squelch across the grass from the car park near the playground and the answers were soon discovered and headed to G Z. No problems finding the cache, paper was a little damp to touch.
All good and replaced as found. T F T M and C TheB0rg

The park was alive with small footballers and their hangers-on so I wasn't optimistic, but having paused to gather the needed info I arrived at a completely deserted GZ. A quick find and sign, and another contribution to Mary Hyde was in the bag.

I had to take a detour, because of some temporarily fencing. After I found all I needed, the fencing on this side kept me from going to the cache. As the sign says; "Work will be done, starting from the 20th of March and will take up to 3 weeks," It's not the 20th, but the fences are already blocking the way.
I got up early this morning specially to come up here and look for this one. It's been on my list of things to do for ages.
The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry inside.
Thank you
