A nice find here today, cache found and is all goodThis weekend I headed down to Naracoorte for the weekly parkrun, after staying the night in town it was time to head home, I detour via the back roads and up through Ngarkat national park before making my way along the mallee highway finding some of the newer caches in the areaThanks for the cache
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state WA. After overnighting in Keith (great caravan park) we headed to Naracoorte collecting finds along the route. Thanks for the hide Biggo
Travelling with richlink as part of our Annual Caravan Geocaching Trip.We are on the move, Narracoorte, using geocaching as our guide. TFTC.
Thanks Biggo Unfortunately the lid was off and cache and log wet, but not that bad was still able to sign. Thanks for this series, really enjoying it. Happy trails from Deanside
The trip back from my quick dash to victoria for a cache tonight and this one sounded like a good
one to stop by as well. It was getting dark but able to drive almost up to GZ and the large container
made for a quick and easy find, right next to the old railway line! TFTC

Quick and easy find on the way to Naracoorte. Definitely not a micro cache

After driving around to different entries we found we needed to enter from main rd, private property signs on every other entry prohibited us from driving or even walking in to the cache. A quick find eventually when we got to the right entry point. TFTC
I was actually driving in the wrong direction when I came across this cache Logged and headed back the other way.
Apparently a rail trail is being developed thru this region

Drove from Adelaide to Dunkeld today and this was one of a few caches found during a break from driving.
Container seems to have grown since original placement.
Thanks to Biggo for putting out this cache for me to find.
*This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).*

Quick find but more a regular/large than a micro. Poor condition log book mouldy
In Naracoorte this afternoon and picked up a FTF. Took a few back roads on the way home. Cache has been wet and log book pages stuck together. TFTC
Felt like we were in someone's backyard here [8)].
Fortunately the micro appears to be long gone and replaced with a regular , so almost an instant find .
The log book is suffering badly from a mould infestation . TNLNSL.
Thanks Biggo.

Log bk very wet. Could stamp duty so hope is ok to read . Found with The X-Trailers as we headed and LìB. TFTC
Headed to Millicent for the long weekend with earthlight and The X-Trailers.
Stopping along the way to find caches. A very quiet area and thanks to your placement we made the time to stop.
The log book is very wet, the container is not waterproof at all. This one needs attention.
We peeled open the book and stamped where we could.

Trying to keep out of trouble and its certainly quiet out this way. Staying at a bush camp north of Naracoorte and later at a camp south of Penola. This was a cache we found fun finding. Our thanks to Biggo for placing this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Did not find, neighbour brought out a new tin and notepad because old one had been lost. Tried to hide it where we assumed the last had been.
Today was the final day of my trip down the south-east, and I was on my way back towards Adelaide from Mount Gambier. I had done a cave dive at Engelbrecht Cave, and once I had a snack, I decided to head back by some back roads east of Naracoorte. That is, a few *Rusty Rails* caches found and visited the towns of Kybybolite, Binnum, and Frances, before just managing to attend my planned Bordertown event. I then visited Mundulla and its surrounds. The state was in a total fire ban day today, and there were areas that I drove through with a smoky haze, evident of various fires in the region. A hot, hot day indeed.
This took some time to find, and didn't help with my initial drive through town and attempting to park the other side of the rails, only to see continuous private property signs, so then had to drive back to the main roads, and parked nearby there. Around GZ, there was a fair amount of growth and continued to hamper my search. Eventually, I made the find, and thought it was pretty tough. The cache container and logbook were all in good shape, although the container was in a similar condition to the rails: rusty. Thanks Biggo for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Nice hide, and it is interesting to see all these old rail lines throughout the area

Suscoe had a big day out from Mt Gambier to Naracoorte and back again.
The day was cool to mild with plenty of cloud.
Just perfect for caching in pleasant conditions.
We appreciated the countryside as we went from pines to grazing country then to vines and grazing again.
Thanks to Biggo for this hide.
All good here.

This took way longer than it should have we were looking in all the wrong places, for some reason had it in our heads we were looking for something quite different. After rechecking a few spots we had it in hand and keenly signed the log.
Guessing its been a long time since the rail has operated and guessing there are no imminent plans to run the trains again soon.
Thanks for the cache and the hunt Biggo, TNLNSL

Searched around a bit before locating this neat spot , then onto Naracoorte. TFTC
Reasonable accurate coordinates and a logical hide led to a quick find. However the container had corroded and proved very difficult to open. In the end we had to return to the car to get a tool to prise the lid off. Once that was achieved, we found the contents to be in good condition. Thanks Biggo for the cache.
Had been in Naracoorte with the family before parting ways to go home...
We went through Hynam on the way to Nararcoorte...
Found eventually...couldn't get the lid off then discovered if you turn the metal thing at the side it lifts it...Doh!!!
A bit smokey here to today as a nearby farmer was burning off...cough! cough!

We spent the night in Naracoorte and slowly headed off north picking up a few caches as we went and finally arrived in Loxton
We have been nibbling away at this rusty rails series for many years now and after a could not look in Naracoorte because of a lady smoking right near gz we were very happy when we found this place deserted. Having three lines here it must have been extremely during it's early life.
We were a little concerned with this one but it didn't take too long to locate the container and our name has now been added to the log.
Thanks Biggo for another one in this series.

Found It!
The rusty rails are growing a lot of trees here! A quick find but needed a screwdriver to get the lid off.

After spending the weekend doing the Border Track, I had an extra day to grab some caches in the area. TFTC.
Owl felt obliged to make this a quick find as her companions were indulging her desire for more caches they had already found. (More caches! More, more!!!)
A. very clever hide in an otherwise deserted area. It must have been a long time since trains ran here judging by the size of some of the trees growing between these rusty rails TFTC Biggo
Caching around the Wimmera and Upper South East with Beaker.
We totalled 94 caches over 670 km in 28 hours.
Found it the last in the series good to find them all

Tricky! I'm most impressed! I wandered round and round, then round some more; checked the logs and wandered some more; checked some more logs and this time went straight to it! Good use of a container I signed the log and went to replace and noticed a muggle watching me, so after a few scenic photos up and down the rails it was time to go. TFTC Biggo
We found the unusual container today easily in this very quaint town. We are very glad though that we don't live around this area with the lack of Internet coverage.
Thanks Biggo for another nice hide.

This is the first time we have seen this container used for a cache. It has certainly proved effective in keeping out the millions of ants we disturbed as we retrieved the cache.
Travelling homeward: Naracoorte SA to St Leonards Vic multiple breaks and lots of smilies in 12 hours.
Our thanks to Biggo for bringing us here.

Took a little time to find, we were thinking how can the trains come through the trees?
