Owner not responding and inactive also parts of the wherigo are missing because of court renovations and the container is gone as many DNFs also an original finder returned and said its not there
Spoke with geocachers with over 10 years GC experiences about such missing caches where one does make the effort twice, two months apart, to hunt a big cache to no avail. And searched 25 metres circular zone from GZ. Especially if CO isnt responding to messages via GC app. They told me to go ahead and claim a yellow smiley here when I have done all the virtual waypoints. And that DT rating is low. Today I have to do this action, in case this cache does get archived soon! So frustrating as I really want to leave my handwritten log entry.
Can the CO acaconly please perform a cache check else hand over to another geocacher to take over with a replacement cache put in the designated spot? Thank you for maintaining this Wherigo for the past decade
Its clear that the cache is missing as its a big container and there is basically only one spot it can be in. It seems that the CO is quite inactive nowadays, so unless the owner can replace soon, it will have to be archived unfortunately.
Like mealo, I also had a look at all possibilities up to 20 metres out from GZ. Given the size of the cache container, its not findable.
An enjoyable walk around the sports fields (with some guesses to the questions due to upgrades). Got to GZ and had a solid look but couldn’t find it unfortunately (after all that work)!
It was fun, even if a 30 minute break was required before I could pretend to wander across the soccer pitch at the end of a game. Thankfully there was a comfortable seat and a decent game,
I remember we did this a while ago but couldn’t complete it. It was quite torturous because some of the questions were outdated and it was mostly luck. Had to restart once but after that GZ was gotten. Lots of leaf spiders but eventually found the thing and some well themed swag. TFTC
After years of looking at this cache I finally took the plunge whilst I had a bit of spare time this evening. A very enjoyable excursion, however the final location was challenging.
Found after a protracted search and a little help from my friends.

After a visit to the nearby Earth Cache on International EarthCache day, I decided it was time to return the balls. It was a nice stroll around the fields and the park, and soon I arrived at GZ.
After signing the log, I hid the cache a bit better as it was quite visible from a distance.

Found It!
The soccer and cricket fields seemed to have swapped places. And the baseball pitch has been turned into a skate park. But with a bit of luck I manged to guess my way through the answers and eventually got to GZ. Then after a bit of searching I found the cache!

Came out to get a WIG for December for a challenge. Had trouble downloading cartridge eventually got . A nice walk around the fields, some questions had to be a guess, due to the new work being done over the years, since this cache was placed. Had to wait under shelter while the storm blew over. Completed then off to GZ wazza9 quickly spotted the container in the open. Signed log, replaced and covered it. Thanks to acaconly.
Tftc,
This was placed the year I started caching. A good cache to be looked after by the local community if needed.
Had 3 goes at getting WP2 correct and still managed to get to GZ in one trip. A great walk and the Whereigo needed for our present challenge to find 1 for every month of the year.
Found the cache a little bit out and sitting in the open. Placed in as far as possible and covered a bit better.
It was on the back tennis court that I tore my Achilles tendon in 1982. I get a reminder every time that rain is on the way.
Adding a favourite and visited trackables.

I always try to complete wherigo caches as I think the idea is great even if it seems poorly supported by groundspeak. That said, this cache is in need of some TLC from the owner. Unfortunately, it appears that the owner hasn't been active for a number of years.
As mentioned by the previous geocacher, there are currently no baseball fields (not sure what will be there when construction finsishes), the number of netball courts has grown, and the cricket pitch is no longer at the coordinates indicated (although there are other cricket pitches in the park which will give you the correct answer). So, it is still possible to get to the end of the cache, and it is fun, although a little frustrating. I exhausted all of my wrong answers and needed two attempts to complete the catridge.
At GZ I had no luck. Even the photo hint (available when the catridge is completed) was no help s it seems like the object indicated is no longer there. It looks like GZ has changed a bit. I widenred the search but still no joy. I suspect it has disappeared but will wait to see if other people have more luck then me.

Completed the cartridge relatively easily, despite considerable construction at one of the locations where there appears to no longer any baseball fields at all.
There also seems to be more netball courts than when the cartridge was made.
Unfortunately after managing to complete the Wherigo, the final cache proved elusive.
Searched all the relevant potentials, and even widened my search considerably as suggested by previous logs.
Even the photo hint didn’t get me there, as I couldn’t locate the feature pictured.
Might be worth a little check by the CO.

In between work standby, SES callouts and a need for some caching I managed to get up to Sydney today with the intent of getting to the celebration event. Along the way I had a few caches in mind but as usual they consumed more of my time than expected so I only bagged a handful of finds.
Jumping from one field to the next, passing balls between codes proved to be a lot of fun. At GZ I was surprised to see the container rather exposed but in good order.
Thanks

A clear playing field this morning to do this wherigo. Oh, there were a few land care / maintenance people milling about and several tennis players but nobody paid the slightest attention as I explored this pretty big sporting facility. The container took a few moments to locate without exact coordinates but nothing calamitous. Thanks for the wherigo experience.
Today was a long time in the making. In fact, it was a long over-due adventure north of the -34th parallel to do Wherigos that held out great promise, and now that the day has finally come and gone we're happy to say we weren't disappointed.
This was the seventh and last of the day. Finished the last task just as the evening light was dimming, so headed to GZ. Didn't dawdle long as we still had a couple hours' drive before we could settle in for the night at home.
Thanks for the fun wherigo.

First time to come out since the lock down, we decided to start with a whereigo. We went to all the different sports ground, but some probably were changed in the recent months.
We spent a long time at GZ and almost gave up. Read some pervious logs and decided to widen our search. Anominous Sign soon find the prize. Thanks for the cache! The lock down really made me appreciate the opportunity to play outside.

Ventured forth today for the first time since the lock down to tackle some geo caches. This was our first of the day.
We worked our way through the fields, collecting and returning balls, before finally getting to GZ. We did a lot of searching and then widened our search area and did some more. Almost ready to give up, we widened the search area again and were rewarded with a nicely hidden cache. It was about 25m off GZ for me.
An enjoyable where-i-go and caching experience. Thanks!!

Spent the day targeting a few specific caches in Sydney. I had a quite successful and well-rounded outing. Thanks to all the Cache Owners for their contributions to the game.
I've had this Wherigo solved for some time now. Today, I was finally in the area to make the find at Ground Zero. Thanks For The Cache.

Found with Deep_99 to keep the streak going. Since the placement of the Wherigo a number of changes have happened to the fields. If you looking for the tree in the hint it also looks nothing like the photo. SL #4338 on streak day #2726 TFTC giving it a fav as I do like doing a Wherigo with a good walk.
Howdy from Dallas, Texas
The cache is in great shape.
This trip was planned some time ago but we kept running into issues. So when a business trip to Asia came up I decided that an unconventional route and an extended stop-over were in order as opposed to waiting for the stars to align on a pleasure trip.
Our 2020 goals are to find all the year 2000 caches and complete 6 original FIZZY loops (loops with caches placed before April 6, 2007). No one in the world has done the latter. Only one person is at 4 loops, LISDOWNEY from Ontario, Canada. So, of course, Lane Cove and Geocache - Relocated topped the list this trip and one other south of Canberra that we found, that wasn't easy.
I had been to Australia once before for a honeymoon years ago but promptly headed off to the Hayman Islands to scuba dive in the Great Barrier Reef, so I didn't get to take in many of the touristy things Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, and Wollongong has to offer. This trip we fixed that anemia. The aforementioned cities played as our hub cities each night and the launching pad for the next day. Sydney was the only city that there were two overnight stays. Sadly the first day after landing we had found all the target caches that we had for Sydney, so I fixed that staying longer in Wollongong and did some epic hikes.
I would also be remiss if I didn't mention that while in Sydney a sad record-breaking day occurred. When driving out of the city toward the outback a radio announcement said that that day was the worst day in Sydney's history for the smoke covering the area from all the wildfires. It was bad, I could really feel it in my lungs. But, just an hour west and it was a beautiful nice day.
Things learned about Australia while on this trip (I know COs in Australia don't care about this stuff but we have students that like to read our logs here in the States and some creepers that obsess about us - no joke we had an event while there and showed a group of Sydney cachers our trolls) :
- Birds are so different here, all kinds and Cockatoos were like our Krackle birds as noisy as heck and everywhere.
- Kangaroos are like our dear. Cool to watch, see and eat. Yes, eat. It was on the menu one night.
- The Average Aussie drinks 96 liters of beer per year
- Highway 1 is the longest national highway in the world
- There are more kangaroos than people
- The Drop Bear was created to scare tourists
- And they love Vegemite
- Melbourne has the largest Greek population outside of Greece
- There’s a mountain named “Mt. Disappointment”
- Australia’s dingo fence is longer than the Great Wall of China
- Some of the world’s deadliest animals live here
- Australia was inhabited for at least 50 000 years before the British came
- Australia has over 10 000 beaches
- It’s the 6th largest country in the world
- The Australian Alps receive more snow than Switzerland
- Home to the largest living structure on Earth – The Great Barrier Reef
- The Kangaroo is the national animal of Australia
- Home to a larger population of camels than Egypt
- Wombat poo is square/cube-shaped so they don’t roll away. This makes it easier for them to mark their territory.
- The name ‘Australia’ comes from the Latin word ‘australis’, meaning southern
- Total Population: 24,970,200.
- Capital: Canberra.
- Biggest City: Sydney.
- Highest Mountain: Mount Kosciuszko
- Land area: 7,692,024 km2.
- Biggest Lake: Lake Eyre (salt) and Lake Mackay (freshwater)

I needed this Wherigo for a challenge but after just two stages I had already got two answers wrong! I decided to start again which was a good thing. There has been quite a bit of change of use on some of these pitches since the Whetrgo was set and as a result some of the answers are now incorrect. You need to use a bit of imagination for these. Nonetheless I got to the end but finding it took rather longer than I’d hoped. I looked everywhere within 5 metres of ground zero without success but once I expanded my search somewhat I finally spotted it. It’s in excellent condition. Thanks for the cache and greetings from the UZ.
Walked around the park for half an hour following and completing clues. But in the end the complete code didn't work

Down from Brisbane for the OZGM, grabbing a carefully compiled list of solved puzzles and caches along the way. This looked interesting so we took a nice stroll, though it was dark by the time we made the grab.

What an interesting wherigo! I had solved this one at some point in the past... Today while in the area, we all searched for the balls. At gz we couldn't find anything, so we individually spread our search.. a few minutes of looking later I spotted the regular container holding the balls and the log!
Logbook suggestion: provide sharpie and make the balls your logbook!
But good fun!

We found the cache at last! The exercise around the park was great, although the mosquitoes weren't as nice. And why not award a favourite point to another overall brilliant wherigo. TFTC acaconly!
Came and did the where I go in 2013 with JordsAu, it got dark so had to come back to find the cache. JordsAu came a week later, I finally came back 6 years later and found the cache with Adi, brew and Everret. Cheers for the cache was fun!
I had to return to the balls after getting a question wrong before. Easy find at GZ but seems to be out by 10m or so. TFTC
We had the balls to find this wherigo! We returned the balls and the cache after checking a few options at GZ. In the end my phone GPS had me about 20m away, but easily spotted it once we looked for what would hide some balls and honed in and had CIH. Very popular spot at GZ today. Nice big park. TFTC
Unfortunately there is works at the site so I am half way through the cache but unable to continue. Please do not archive this old school cache. Works finish in 2019.
second week in a row that my wife sends me to IKEA. Today I was able to combine it with the Rhodes parkrun. While in the area I grabbed a few caches in Ryde, Rhodes and Strathfield. This one I needed to do some phone calls. The cartridge was working excellent, friendly I returned the ball to receive the next order. But when it wanted me at the baseball field it was all fenced in and I couldn't get closer then 30 meters.

Unable to complete this one. There is construction work where the baseball field used to be and it’s fenced off preventing access to the pitchers mound ️
one of these days I'll find a Wherigo I actually enjoy rather than frustration being the dominant emotion. the lack of blood sugar as I hadn't had lunch yet probably didn't help either. I guess soccer is much more interesting than baseball now and cricket also seemed to be on the wane here until you noticed the brand new practice nets, which were in use today. I think this would be an incredibly busy place on a weekend or on a summer evening. I eventually solved the cartridge, learnt a bit more about how to do one of these and then had major problems finding the actual cache. I walked away more than once determined to go back to the car only to turn back for one more go.... eventually coming up with the prize. I signed the log and treated myself to a very nice bento box up the road in Erminton which improved my attitude no end.

Located at 9:59am. #698. My second Wherigo after completing my first Wherigo yesterday afternoon. This was another enjoyable adventure and provided excellent morning exercise as I jogged through most of this. All fields were empty and all questions were quickly answered. Spent a little while searching at GZ before getting CIH. I’m thoroughly enjoying Wherigos and am looking forward to the next one. Спасибо! תודה! L’chaim! TFTC!
Today I joined geoson for a spot of wherigoing. It was decided to attempt the CO's two wherigoes in the Meadowbank area. After successfully loading the cassettes last night I met up with geoson mid-morning to commence the fun. Being a Tuesday we didn't have to contend with anybody utilizing the various courts, pitches or ovals; we had them all to our self to play ball today. The cassette actually performed well on my android phone and the small problem that I did have was human error.
As a word of advice for future cachers, read the log of October 2015 and you will save yourself a lot of grief.

Today was Wherigo day. This was the first of 2 in our sights and perfect weather meant for an easy stroll around, returning balls all over the place. The cartridge worked perfectly on the iPhone, the only issue which was avoided was that the updated facilities didn't match all the questions. Thanks to a previous finder, we were able to have the correct answers to 2 of the questions that were now invalid or different. The final location of the cache was also about 15m north of solved co words. Great fun these types of caches. TFTC
After our Parisian trip in the first week of the Easter holidays, we (i and my husband Voske1967) went for 3 weeks to the other side of the world to enjoy the friendly atmosphere, food, landscapes and culture of Australia. Of course, geocaches were also searched for and found in Perth, Monkey Mia, Denham, Newman, Port Hedland, Darwin, Alice Springs, Sydney, ... . This trip downunder will stay with us for a long time! It was pretty hot in Australia for the autumn season
It's always good to add a whereigo to your find total, especially if you live in Tasmania where they are non-existent. This one gave us quite a bit of trouble and we were concerned we might have to start again. Thankfully a previous finder took pity on all those who followed and provided some help so we were able to finish it off. This area has obviously changed a lot since the original whereigo was created. Still good fun though, thanks acaconly
This was another on our short list for our drive up to the mega from Sydney, well as it turns out we both had problems with it.
My app crashed after the first waypoint and then we found out the fields were no longer what they used to be so we almost ran out of wrong answers before we read some old logs and got a better idea of how to the carry on.
We got there in the end and added our names to the log at long last.
Thanks for the cache.

My app crashed after the first waypoint and then we found out the fields were no longer what they used to be so we almost ran out of wrong answers before we read some old logs and got a better idea of how to the carry on.
We got there in the end and added our names to the log at long last.
Thanks for the cache.

I’ve struggled with older WIGs before but newer ones have been smoother. This one was a bit of a struggle, mostly because it’s way out of date and the multi-purpose playing fields are not as they once were. Two of the six questions posed on the way can be answered correctly, another two can now only be wild guesses, as the relevant feature has gone, and the other two are now just plain wrong. With four wrong answers forcing a “start again” condition, it took a couple of attempts to get to the end. Not great fun.
Once at the end, there is a hint but the hinted feature at GZ has gone and the cache has now migrated to a different feature, well away from GZ, that you’ll only find out about from an earlier log. (Sept 2017)
Anyways, all’s well that ends. This would have been a lot of fun in the day and I appreciate the effort to create it but I think it’s time for a makeover to restore it to its former, enjoyable state. Thanks acaconly.
PS Check the October 2015 log too – I wish I’d read it before.

OCW Coastblue. What an ordeal this was! Decided to take CB for her first Wherigo. Temp was about 40 as we hiked acids the park returning lost balls to their homes. Hide a road block when a Cricket match was taking place right where we needed to go. Got a nearby traditional, battled a bush rat and refilled our water before the match ended and we continued. Found a few more balls and as we were on the home stretch another cricket match was in our path! Waited it out and got the final coordinates. Small search at GZ before CB came up with the goods. Cache# 776
OCW Rodney1210. It was a 42 degree day today but when Rodney mentioned he wanted to get a few caches, I thought why not? Air conditioning in the car, park and grabs and plenty of water should make for a great afternoon to boost the numbers. Rodney had made a start and I met him later on. After completing five quick traditionals, he threw it out there “want to do your first whereigo?” How could I resist? And so we found ourselves here, returning the balls. We made a great start. Progressing through the stages and exploring the park, we soon hit our first hurdle (wrong sport and no balls I know). The cricket. Aside from the fact that I’m not a fan, according to the cartridge, they were playing on the wrong pitch so I was immediately put off. It was also hot. Extremely hot. And they weren’t finishing. We went off to fill out water bottles and spotted a likely hiding spot for a cache on the way. We hoped to get lucky because it was hot and the cricket was likely to finish next week at the rate they were going. As we looked in this hidey hole, we didn’t know we were being spied on by a bush mouse, rat, marsupial thing that bolted out of the bush to defend it’s home. We also bolted in the opposite direction as I screamed! I’ll never cache again without a stick. So help me God. It wasn’t long after and there was a break in the cricket so we ran back over and onto the pitch to do our thing. But we ran out of time to pick up the ball and so we had to wait again. At this point we were frustrated. We looked at the map ready to call it a day on this cache. We noticed a traditional at the other end of the park. If the cricket hadn’t finished by the time we got back, we were done. After a short stroll and a quick find, the cricket was finally over and we got back out on the pitch to finish our task. Pressing on we completed the next task and then got to another field where the cricket was again, incorrectly being played. Tired and hot and very bothered, we sat in the shade and impatiently waited for them to finish. I’ll never understand what people enjoy in this sport... A final cheer and they were done and we were hot on their heels to complete our final task. Now, onto GZ. It was a bit of a walk and a short search before I found the container. Great size! But the mozzies! Wow... I don’t usually get bitten but today I was swarmed and eaten alive! We quickly signed the log and made tracks out of there! TFTC!
Met up with the North West Geocaching crew for this one. Responsibilities down south meant that I couldn't continue on to the events, but this was a bit of fun, as I don't do whereigo caches often.
#1614 met up with alnic39, teamMerlin and Splitty Miller JJCC at about 5.30 in the car park for Bright Eyes (Night Cache) which we found. We decided to try to play the Wherigo Return the Balls before I was going to the event at Rydalmere we parked in the car park and 2 of us had the game loaded as we wandered around doing the various and answering the questions soon we both had the coords. We headed over to the spot and found a few things that could meet the hint so the for of us split up and I picked the right one and made the find

Out for an early morning cache run with phlphotos, alnic39 and JJCC before we had to head for Windsor for some Australia Day celebrations. This was our main target cache for the day in order to fill in some requirements for a challenge cache series (USG) down in Canberra. In preparation we had loaded up the cartridge at home onto the phone (android) and it was just a matter of working through the various waypoints and answering the questions. Everything ran as expected and after a good walk we had a viable set of coordinates for GZ which on approach presented itself as several options. To save some time we all split up and phlphotos soon yelled out the words we are all looking for ..."Got it". With the cache in hand, we all signed the log before replacing as found. Both the cache container and log are in good condition. Thanks for whereigo the cache acaconly.

#2020 (streak day 200)
Wasn't really sure what cache to target, but the "tomorrow will be different challenge" ensured that it could not be a traditional today. Have noticed this WIG a couple of times so thought why not as they are usually heaps of fun. This one was no exception. I thought the game was simple and worked really well (thanks to some helpful information from gaztek's log). It was cool and very windy as I walked around finding heaps of lost balls. I actually remembered that I played baseball here quite a few years ago. Fields don't seem to be in very good condition and probably thanks to the school holidays, there were hardly any muggles about. An amazing variety of sports can be played at this collection of parks. Found container nicely tucked away after my quest in its relocated hiding spot. SL and replaced before heading off to Parramatta to collect a new pair of glasses.

Did this one without to much trouble other than things not been where were when the Wherigo was created. I printed a map before hand which help with one Question. The cartridge run smoothly on my IPhone 8
Late afternoon meant their were no games in progress so a quick completion was achieved. Thanks for creating and placing the cache. I had fun with geo kids completing and finding cache Cheers

Well this was an adventure and a half. I first started this wherigo last year. I had done my research (reading previous logs) to obtain some hints on missing information, and headed over to the playing fields. All was going well until I hit the soccer fields. I couldn't gain access due to a large council fence around it, so I had to abort the mission.
So today I found myself nearby and decided to try again. I assumed that I would have to start it all from the beginning, but was pleasantly surprised to find out when I opened the wherigo that there was a resume button. Perfect. Now I could just continue at the soccer fields.
I obtained the required information, taking a little longer than I was expecting, and completed the course. Then instead of getting coordinates at the end I got a jumbled code. What is that? Took me a long time to realise that I didn't need to worry about it (doh) and continued on to the final cache.
On approach to gz I spotted a likely hiding spot and then saw the cache - in plain sight - hanging on by a thread. Surprised it has lasted this long and not been muggled. After returning all the balls (literally) and signing the log I was not able to replace the cache back into it's original hiding position. The structure has disintegrated to such a state that it will hold nothing, especially not a large cache.
I had two options - either place the cache on the ground at gz for all the see, or to place it close by in a secure location. I was going to contact the CO about it, but it seems they don't cache any more.
So - FUTURE FINDERS PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FINAL CACHE LOCATION HAS MOVED....
....but not far. I replaced it 15m north of the final coordinates in a much more secure and stable location which will be out of the view of muggles and where it can't fall onto the ground.
This was a fun and sometimes frustrating wherigo cache, but good to have it ticked off the list. TFTC

On our vacation this year, we did a great trip as GER-17 to Australia.
GER-17 are DieFraudiemitmuss, Lundi263, de Eifelaner and murri24.
We started the tour in Melbourne where we spend a few days sightseeing and caching, including some trips out of the City to the Grampians an to the Great Ocean Road.
Nice place to be and to see.
From Melbourne we went to Alice Springs including Ayrs Rock, where we saw some nice sunsets and other great stone formations and spots.
Back in Melbourne we started by car to go to Sydney along the coast with zig zags into the blue mountains and Canberra.
Finally we arrived in Sydney and spend here the last day of our holidays with caching and sightseeing.
During this trip we found this box.

DieFraudiemitmuss, Lundi263, Murri24 and I made this year a very great tour together. Our first target is Melbourne. So we started early in the morning to visit the city and to make a few geocaches. We found very nice locations and interesting spots. One day we rent a car. Very early in the morning we drive from Melbourne City over Geelong to the Great Ocean Road. Along this road we found so much interesting spots, we see a great landscape, and had have not enough time for sightseeing. The weather was fine but a little bit windy. This day was very long and hard, but wonderful.
After that we visit the Grampians. A little bit rain, a little bit windy and a little bit sunny day, we had fasten all weathers. We visit waterfalls, canyons, sandstone fomations and any Look Outs. Puhhh, what a great landscape.
The next part of our journey is to explore the Outback. From Ayers Rock we take a car and drive over Kings Canyon and many other Look Outs to Alice Springs. We visit any very interesting Caches and had a great time by comfortable temperature.
Now we drive from Melbourne over Canberra, Batemans Bay, Wollongong, Blue Mountains and Sydney. We want to see so much as possible of this part of Australia. Today we started in early in the morning. We drive from Mittagong to the Wombeyan Cave, to the Jenolan Cave and also to Karoomba. We have a great day with many impressions. Today we startet in Karoomba visit once more the Three Sisters, walk to Den Fenella Track, and drive after that to Sydney. On the way to the City we visit also a few Caches.
This Wherigo was one of the Caches. We could found them good an sign the logbook with GER-17. Thx for this very nice Cache.

Together with Team "GER-17" (consisting of murri24, der Eifelaner & dieFraudiemitmuss and me) I was able to find this Cache today after having arrived in Sydney and going around with our rental car.
It's a first for me to visit this part of Sydney.
Thanks a lot for hiding it!

Out for a fun and long day on the ferries, trains and buses to collect some old and some interesting caches. Ended up also walking a little over eight miles as well.
Whew ... this one was a bit of a challenge to complete, despite the low ratings. However, I love Wherigos so I persisted. Firstly, as others note, most of the fields have changed ... so at least four of the questions need alternative answers. I managed to quess well and only had three strikes against me at the end so I could get the final cache location. Then, too, the final location and hint seem a bit off, but that could be due to previous hiders. I never quite found the hinted location but did eventually manage to come up with a container and log. This was a fun one to do, nonetheless, so I hope it can be updated to remain as part of the game. The idea was well-executed and I did meet some fun 'characters' along the way. The tour did manage to skip around the few soccer matches going on - I am a coach and did take a break to watch some of the teams playing. TFTWigC

Today we headed over to Meadowbank to do a variety of caches, a Multi, an EarthCache, a couple of Wherigos, and a few Traditionals. This was our 6th of 8 finds for the day.
After finding "Meadowbank Park" we headed over to the starting coords for this Wherigo cache and, with the game cartridge loaded & running on our ipad air2, we were off on our adventure. Well it all started off OK, with the first waypoint easily found and the questions answered. But after that things went downhill, as it soon became obvious that most of the remaining waypoint locations had drastically changed since the Wherigo was set up. There was NO baseball field or mound, NO cricket pitch, and the netball courts had been changed & expanded. All of this meant that we found ourselves having to take guesses regarding the questions being asked, and risking having to restart the Wherigo due to the "attempts" counter being exceeded, making the whole experience much more stressful than it should have been.
Anyway we were lucky to have made some good guesses along the way and eventually found ourselves with all of the lost balls returned to their correct locations. And it was then a quick find of the generously sized container at final GZ. Signed the log book and then returned the container as found. The "themed" contents of the box was a nice touch.
Thanks acaconly for setting up this Wherigo, but it should really be updated for the current situation at the park, to avoid future cacher frustration.

My cousins lives in West Ryde so I was checking out the closest caches and this one was the closest!
I saw it was a Wherigo and I haven't actually found one of these before despite having over 2000 finds! I guess they are pretty rare and usually take a while to complete.
So I figured out I could do it on my iPhone and off we went.
So many things have changed, the baseball fields are gone, the soccer field is being re-done and is behind fences, and the number of netball courts have increased!
Luckily my cousin has been living here all his life and was able to tell me exactly where every field was, and answer every question even if the answer wasn't there!
What a great cache, a favourite point added as it was my first experience of a Wherigo, why are there not more of these!?

Took the geokids, Bluewattle Mini and Junior and Snickersallan to have a stab at this one. Being overcast made it a tad difficult. Another major difficulty is that a soccer match was almost to commence on one the ball finds. As with other finders, some of the sports grounds are no longer what they where. After using all of my 'lives', guesses, I had to restart , never the less, nabbed the find in the end
Found with Snickersallan, Bluewattle and Bluewattle Mini. Will have to bring my soccer ball next time we visit.[8]
Found with the help of Geomum Bluewattle and Snickersallan, cool park [:x]
This was a fun Wherigo to do with geo friends Bluewattle, Bluewattle Junior & Bluewattle Mini. When we arrived to start it was extremely cloudy with no sun and my normally trusty Samsung didn't want to play the game. I had to keep going back a step several times before each one registered before I could advance but at the half way mark it totally let me down. Luckily Bluewattle's app on her phone let us continue on and to find the colorful prize. Thanks acaconly for the fun cache and a favourite point from me
This was my first Wherigo and after fiddling around with the unintuitive controls I was able to get started. This was an interesting new experience for me but it also highlighted the potential problems with this technology. A large part of the journey was arriving at a location, discovering it had changed in the last 6 years and reading logs to determine the correct answer. Despite all this it was quite fun. I will have to look at a few more. Thanks

My time in Queensland had come to an end, it was now time to head back to Melbourne but there were a few caches that needed to be found on the way.
I had started this one a week ago an my way to Queensland but I was able to get very far, as it was the weekend there were soccer games happening everywhere and I wasn't able to get to where I was needing to be so I had to move on.
Now that I was on my way back I figured that this time of the day the fields should be empty, I was right.
I continued where I had left off and made my way through retrieving and giving out the balls, in the end I was rewarded with the GZ coordinates.
I headed to this spot and I was able to make a quick find, the log was signed and I was on my way.
There are a couple of questions in the cartridge that need to be updated as they do not apply to the grounds at the moment.
The correct number of netball courts isn't even an option to choose from as well as the cricket pitch unless it is totally covered in dirt.
**Thanks to acaconly for placing this cache.**

My first Wherigo! I used an iPhone to complete, which at first I was having issues with, but then I turned my 3G on and that worked a treat. Everything went perfectly after that! I did get two wrong because things have changed since the cartridge was created, but all the others where the same. I've played netball here for the past 8 years, so it was fun to do a cache in such a familiar place! tftc
P.S. Watch out for the mosquitos!

Team Omam from the Netherlands has only one aunt left. And as she will have her 100th birthday early February, we decided to join the birthday party. But …., she lives in Sydney Australia! An excellent opportunity for us to explore this continent once again and find Geocaches along the way. We will do a 3.5 weeks trip! At places where we will stay for a few days (Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Darwin), we will organize Meet and Greet events. We will try to find mainly caches with high favorite points, caches from 2000 and 2001, earth caches, webcam caches, virtuals and letter box hybrids.

This was my first Wherigo and I enjoyed it a lot. I can see so much potential with this technology, can't wait to try building my own. I had the cartridge loaded for ages on my iphone but today was the first time I could try it out. I probably parked a little further than I should have for starting but I guessed that I'd be doing some walking so it wouldn't matter. Arrived at the posted location and started the app. Wow, things were happening! Cool. Once I worked out the mechanics it was plain sailing from there. No games being played on any fields so access was easy and I was able to make it to each mark unhindered (although the guy running laps saw me crossing all over the place an may have wondered what was going on). Only issue I had was with the answer to the third question which is no longer correct and could do with correcting. Got all the answers correct and returned all the balls and made it to the GZ. The container was out in the open so after signing and leaving a swap, I replaced with a little camo to keep it secure. Lastly the unlock code didn't seem to work over at Wherigo.com so this log will have to suffice. Very well done adventure and great final hide. Thanks acaconly.

What a wherigo on this day
I must be nuts to do this cache on a hard raining day - where is summer?
My assistant, mr iphone5 was complaining all along, getting wet in the beginning, almost through and shortly before we were off to GZ, meaning we had to restart the game
And by the way, little I know about netball and baseball, tennis yes and the rest?
Really happy I read the recent logs and took the encrypted message from gaztek
Bazingo , that worked and my hopelessness had an happy ending, though your cache looks a bit devastated
Good wherigo, am not sure that I learnt new rules to the games I don't know, but hey, I returned some balls

[Turned out to be a good day to come here as none of the arenas were in use. It was hot but fun. As others have mentioned not all the answers to the questions match reality and we think that things have changed since 2010 when this was first set. The number of baseball diamonds is not really evident, the cricket pitch is no longer the correction option and the number of netball courts has increased since the options were entered but not to any of the options offered. We will encrypt some clues below our message. We made our way to GZ and found the container fully exposed. Luckily we were able to do our duties and rehide it before the local Landcare group started in on their work. Great idea for a whereigo and enjoyed all the virtual characters we met along the way. TN L a golf ball (of course!) SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek]
The correct answers for baseball is "one", for cricket pitch is "synthetic" even though it's dirt and for netball is "26" even though there are 28!

#377 – Whereigo App for iPad and Garmin eTrex 30
This was the sixth of seven finds for today. After finding ‘Meadowbank Park’, I drove up to the sporting fields. I parked in the required area, and started to use the cartridge as part of my challenge. There were a few false starts but I soon got the cartridge working smoothly. I was able to answer the tennis court question but there is no evidence of a baseball field so I had to guess and ended up with two wrong answers. I headed over to the cricket pitch but this one was nowhere near the zone indicated on the map. I made my way over to a strip of dirt which looked like it had recently been used as a pitch due to width and length. Again, with no clear evidence of the surface, I had to guess and ended up with another two incorrect answers. I walked back to the tennis courts and started again, this time remembering the correct answers and learning how to get the little marker inside the zone. After correctly answering the cricket question, I walked over to the soccer field and was lucky to see the field number directly across from me. This was working smoothly until I hit the netball courts. I tried to answer the question but then something froze with the cartridge. I exited and resumed the cartridge and then experienced the same problems many others did. I could talk to the netball player but couldn’t receive the hockey ball. I tried moving in and out of the zone, closing the app and restarting and even restarting my iPad but to no avail. I checked the logs and realised a friend had completed the cache sometime ago and I was lucky he provided me with approximate coordinates and a very good picture of GZ. I made my way to the area and even the approximate coordinates where about 30m out, the picture helped seal the deal. I like the idea of Whereigo caches but this one needs updating and troubleshooting. SLTNLN. TFTC.

Our second werigo love these. All balls returned to owners and cache found log signed.
Nice stroll in park easier if no games on had to wait for some games to finish but good to watch
Our second wherigo cache. These are great. After waiting on some games to finish we finally located GZ.
The fourth for today and three types found already! Having picked up the nearby Earthcache, I decided to head over and grab the Wherigo too. We parked near the listed coordinates and I began to make my way around the course. It took longer than expected as there were heaps of games in progress but I had eventually had the GPS set for the final location. Once I arrived at GZ, the cache was located very quickly thanks to the hint. Log signed and cache (and cache cover) replaced. It has been a while since I have done one of these so I am glad to finally get another under the belt. I know how much time is put into making them so a big thanks to the CO. Oh, and of course TFTC acaconly!
Loved this trot around the playing fields
Cartridge worked well and I made a quick find at GZ
Fav point awarded and I picked up TB

I have been out near Penrith for the last week and a bit an heading back to Geelong today but first a go at a couple of wherigo '. I think I have this is about my 14th so getting the hang of this technology as I now carry two methods of using the cartridge so have back up just in case something goes wrong.
All fine today and was surprised by the size and quality of the swaps in the container. I did not spot the T B and did swap anything but left the Red Ant in the log book which is double bagged to keep out the water.
A well set up cache and deserves another F.P.

16/3/15. 11:05 AM. Cache #2331. Streak day #267. Given that my wife plays hockey here every winter, I'm surprised after a few years of caching that I haven't attempted this one before (although it would be close to impossible on weekends, I'm sure). I decided to try it today and parked close to the published coordinates. Three fire engines were parked nearby, but rather than there being any emergency, the fire crews were involved in a game of touch footy, luckily not on any of the fields that I needed to visit.
As I opened up the Whereigo app, I discovered that I hadn't downloaded the Return the balls cartridge onto this phone, so I had to start by doing that, then kicked it off. I made my way through each of the waypoints, and returning the balls to each of the characters. The only issues that I had were:
- whenever I needed to wander away from the waypoint to count objects to answer the questions, the cardridge would allow me to answer the question, but wouldn't let me retrieve the next ball. This was always easily fixed by walking back to the waypoint and either talking to the character again or looking for the balls in "You See".
- the cricket pitch that I was standing on was not of the type that gave me a correct answer
None of these issues were that big, so I got to the end and headed towards the cache. I had to check the map, as my straight line approach was running out of metres and putting me in people's houses. Ahh, go around the bend, I see. Off to GZ where I made an easy find (it was sitting on top of its camo, so I hid it better). I signed the log; first to be here in over 6 months; and discovered the TB (think I had it once before, so I left it here). Getting eaten alive by mozzies here, so back to the car and then across to Rhodes for one more stab at "Old Rusty". TFTC }:)

Came back here for a second attempt; left it until the very last day of August! Didn't have as many problems this time as the compass wasn't jumping around too much. Also managed to actually discern the baseball field this time. Although, I still couldn't find the cricket pitch...
All in all, I think this one took me an hour - though, because I had to wait probably around fifteen minutes for a soccer match to finish on the hockey field (?! [:(!]) and that I'd driven the car further away from GZ than I thought I'd needed to.
Overall, it was quite enjoyable, and a nice one to bring up the double century! Can't seem to get the unlock code working on the website, though... oh well. TFTC, acaconly

Found at 7:10pm. Very cool experience and unique to what I am used to in the world of Geocaching. On my first attempt round I only managed to get to the soccer fields before I was told I must restart my adventure. Definitely had me smashing my forehead with the palm of my hand.
Anyhow, I went and got a quick bite to eat and decided to come back for another shot. I got all the way to the hockey fields before getting a question wrong. It was also pretty dark as I began my journey at 6:45pm.
A great cache and looking forward to perhaps completing a few more WhereIgo's in future. Hard work though I must say. There's really no way to avoid travelling a distance to reach GZ.

I was going on a 26km bike ride today with some friends today, and was in the area. I have had my eye on this cache for a while now, but had not had the opportunity to complete it.
I arrived here early and set off to the adventure.
Some damage to the fields from the recent rain made answering some of the questions difficult, but I managed to complete the lot without making too many incorrect answers.
An hour later I had finally finished but couldn't figure out how to get the final coordinates, but it finally showed the correct spot.
A well constructed adventure. Thanks for the creation!

For the 7 Souvenirs of August, we needed a Wherigo/Virtual/Webcam cache. This was our closest of the three, so on a pleasant Sunday morning we set off to make the find.
The entire Wherigo ran very smoothly, although some of the questions were hard to answer because of different information being available now than (I'm assuming) when the cache the cache was placed. Even then, we only got 3 wrong answers so were still able to continue to the end.
We had a nice wander around this park, with many different sports played, not unlike our local park in Curl Curl. The cache was found quickly at GZ also and we signed in just under an hour from starting the cartridge.
Thanks acaconly for a nice WIG. (I think I forgot to note down the activation code so won't be able to log the cache on the wherigo site...)

Team effort with Rharzwor. My first ever Whereigo! Had a really good time, and I think I'm addicted to these now. Gotta find some more and it has inspired me to do my own. Didn't really have any problems with the cartridge except on the cricket fields, there didn't seem to be any answer that fit. Any way, thanks a lot for my first of many Whereigos. SL. TFTC (Used the whereyougo app for android)
Found with Spartman. I absolutely loved this. We started off running to the first point because we thought we had a time limit! The fields were muddy and I ruined my shoes, but I had a blast! TFTC
I got off to a shaky start as I hadn’t done a Wherigo for over a year and had forgotten how to use the WhereYouGo app on my Android phone. However, I soon worked it out and was on my way, though it took much longer to complete than the 30 minutes estimated by the CO.
Generally the cartridge worked well but it often took ages to pick up the zone even though I was within a metre. After the first couple of destinations I realised I just needed to be patient.
I answered all the questions correctly, though educated guesses were required for three of them. I was fortunate at the first destination where I was greeted by the caretaker who thought I was a prospective customer and provided the number I needed, and gave me his card.
All in all, it was a most enjoyable experience roaming the extensive playing fields with few muggles to get in the way. Thanks acaconly, it gets a favourite point from me.
[Remembering the code trick from past experience, I have unlocked and logged the cartridge on the Wherigo site.]

Got up at the crack of dawn to go for this one for two reasons: 1. I would have enough time to complete it before heading off to work. 2. I would hopefully beat any Saturday morning sporting activities. Both of which I achieved. It took about half an hour all up to collect and return all the balls, with 2 wrong answers along the way. Cache was hidden in a nice tiny oasis of bush. Thanks for the cache, was a fun but COLD walk!

#707 (3 of 3 today) (Streak day 175)
Back near home, I realised I was quite close to this cache that I'd previously DNFed due to technical difficulties.
Having read gcphil's recent log, thought that this may have been my problem.
Started the cache again and in answering the first question stepped out of the zone - no ball to grab. Moved back into the area, ball available. Ah ha.
As a result of this, I decided to walk slowly as I neared the target area and then take one or two extra steps to ensure all stayed good.
The cartridge worked perfectly from then on. And after all the balls had been correctly handled, I had GZ - Whohoo.
Went there for a quick find, despite a muggle with a spade working about 30 metres away. Made the grab and quickly moved away. He had moved on by the time I made the replace.

TFTC - at last!

Unlike numerous previous cachers, I have had no problem in following all instructions around the park and then to an easy cache. I am using an iphone4s. Occasionally a ball disappeared before I could 'take' it - I just had to reestablish my position with GPS, then no probs. Although the cricket pitch coords were out, have a guess - and you won't be stumped! Enjoyable 40 minutes walk.
Had a bit of the same troubles as the previous finder! Start was easy and I soon found the tennisball, but that was it. Couldn't grab or save the ball and get further instruction, could only press OK. Went back to start point and reset, again same issue? Tried another 2 or 3 times with the same result and then gave up. Must be something with the cartridge?

Had a lot of trouble on this one. The tennis court was fine, but then it wouldn't let me do anything, so I had to reset from the beginning.
There was trouble with the baseball field so that led me in circles before I could reach it as it's now a soccer pitch. The cricket pitch coordinates were over 100m off; I only saw it on the way to the next part.
I arrived at the soccer pitch which was clearly marked as field 3, but that wasn't an option, so after two guesses, I'd exhausted my answer attempts. It was dark, so I called it quits.
I'm going to assume the where-you-go application just isn't good enough to handle WIGs. I'll have to return again later, but at least I know the answers.
Thanks!
