We stay overnight in Tennant Creek and before arrival we visited this place. The cache was easy to find. But the container has no closure. Thanks for the cache
And the word was spread. I can not believe the number of transcriptions that had to be made as a message progressed from sender to receiver.Freddo and e.gregory1 were heading up the middle of Australia following Stuart's well trodden route. We were travelling in air conditoned comfort and style. No stale food. No camels to carry water. We were leaving the cold winter for the northern season.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is the twelth day of Augustus Caesar's Month in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a little cooler. Still no wind today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. Have visited TC many times over the years and only visited the Telegraph station once, about 25+ years ago. So today was the day to renew our acquaintenance with this piece of history. Was impressed with the way that the buildings have been maintained and presented.
Parked in the carpark and while wandering to the buildings stopped to read the signs, and while muggle friends read the information, the cache was quickly found, log signed and cache replaced as found.

Darwin to Adelaide Road Trip
Day Five: Threeways to Alice Springs
Weather: sensational!
With the name of this cache, I was expecting an abandoned church. Come to think of it, I haven’t noticed any abandoned churches on this trip as yet, but that will change once I reach South Australia I’m sure. This was a nice diversion off of the highway.
Thanks for the hide Liz and Bruce and The Mavericks.

Travelling with richlink from Perth to Darwin along the west coast and returning to Perth through the centre and the Nullarbor. A great piece of history here, thanks Liz&Bruce and the Mavericks.
Travelling with iluvtrekking up the WA coast to NT and down through the Centre to SA and back home across the Nullabor. After overnighting at Banka Banka Station we are travelling through Tennant Creek to Devils Marbles. Loving reading the history of this area. Well maintained buildings and cache in good order. Thanks Liz and Bruce.
Day 36 of our greynomad trip up north and after a the JLWEvents, a tour of Maralinga and caching to claim LGAs in the Eyre Peninsula, we are attempting to escape the southern weather that has been wet and windy.
Another day of sunshine, and we headed out to find a few caches before we suffered from the heat Had a wander around the buildings, quite sturdy and comfortable for that era I would imagine. Plenty of ants at GZ, I required a shake down

An interesting stop at this one time vital place. A quick find and a quick read.
Thanks Liz and Bruce
Our Northern Territory journey began in Darwin around 3am after a very delayed flight. We drove as far north as Fresh Water Camp (northeast of Darwin), followed by a loop to Liberated Cox (out to the west) and Litchfield National Park returning to Darwin. We then headed south with overnight stops at Katherine, Daly Waters and Devils Marbles before reaching our southernmost accommodation at Erldunda. From here we did a day trip to Lamberts Gravitational Centre on onward past Finke. Our last couple of days were in Alice Springs with a side trip via Hermannsburg and Glen Helen, all up covering just under 3800km. My thanks to all the COs with hides throughout the territory for helping make our trip so enjoyable.

We spotted a few caches by this CO and wished had the forethought to get someone to look after some of our so we could hide some in the NT.
This trip was sort of in place of a trip to a Mega that got canceled due to accommodation problems, I was quite happy when Goose said do you fancy to caching break in the Northern Territory as this would be the last State or Territory for me in Australia.
Our plan was to fly into Darwin on the Friday night have a couple days in the area then start heading South stopping overnight whenever we needed to, our next goal was the drive to the geographic centre of Australia at Lambert Centre and then head back to Alice to fly home ten days later.
We both had a great trip finding some important old caches, large ones and the odd clever one too, we found Ammo Cans all over the place which was nice as i think we have found most of the ones at home in Tassie.
Thanks for the cache.

Together with my favorite geocacher Milonguera we traveled to Australia We went to Melbourne via Singapore and from there we explore the south, the center and the east coast.
We walked around Melbourne and had a nice meet & greet event. Than we visited Philip Island with the pinguins and the Great Ocean Road. We fed and petted kangaroos visited the koalas and continued north via Coober Pedy to Alice Springs. We hiked around the impressive Uluru and through the beautiful Kata Tjuta and breathtaking Kings Canyon. The gorges of the Macdonell-Ranges are nice to. Than we traveled north.
Weiter gings Richtung Norden.

Ich bedanke mich bei Liz and Bruce (maintenance by The Mavericks) für den Cache, das Zeigen dieses Ortes, das Legen und Pflegen der Dose und den Spaß beim Finden! Thanks for the cache!

We travelled 8,500km through 5 states for a 60th birthday party over approx. 6 weeks. We endured many days over 35C and then saw a lot of water in the eastern states. We enjoyed travelling east with family and then they travelled back to Alice and we made our way home to SA, trying to dodge the rain and wet weather.

Visiting Tennant Creek for a couple of days, we had the opportunity to visit this amazing piece of history. On our way in to explore the site, we stopped to find the geocache.
It is wonderful to see that this area has been updated and re-imagined in its former life as a lifeline in communication from Adelaide to Darwin and beyond.
We made our way through all of the sights and information plaques.
We found the hide, where all is safe and dry and have added our name to the log.
Thanks Liz and Bruce (and Mavericks)

Found after our visit to Tennant Creek & the picturesque Lake Mary Ann. We came to check out the Telegraph Station after also doing the one in Alice Springs.
Catching up on some late logs, now that I have time, while travelling.
We are on the road travelling up through central Australian and down the coast of WA. I hope to grab a few caches along the way.
Another interesting bit of history. Unfortunately, it is closed for renovations but still enjoyed wandering around. A quick find at GZ.

Found during a trip from Adelaide to the northern tip of Australia and back. Traveling up solo along the Strzelecki Track to Innamincka, then through central Queensland to Quilpie, Blackall, Barcaldine, Hughendon and Ravenshoe to Cairns. In Cairns I met up with e.gregory1 and a non-cacher friend and spent three weeks on Cape York Peninsula before making our way back to Cairns and Mareeba. From there I headed on my own back home via Normanton and Karumba, Cloncurry, Mount Isa, Tennant Creek and back down the Stuart Highway through Alice Springs to Adelaide. All in all I spent six weeks on the road, visited many out of the way locations, enjoying the scenery and finding caches along the way. Thanks for the cache Liz and Bruce!
Another place we had visited during my pre-caching days. We have seen plenty of Telegraph Stations and it was getting late so this was a quick park and grab. Great spot for a cache.
TFTC a favourite for me. A very interesting place. I would have loved to see it operating back in the day.
Found today on my Darwin camper van relocation adventure. Nice quick find here while checking out the history. Amazing people.

Our last cache for the way before stopping for the night. A little detour and a wander and the cache was spotted. Log signed and replaced as found. Thanks Liz and Bruce.
I met a spider at the gate that wanted me to trade my life for entry into the station grounds. I managed to sneak past him and met a very cute baby gecko on the cache

Day 24 of my solo camping trip north from Adelaide.
I travelled up the Strzelecki Track to Innamincka, then through central and western Queensland, eventually ending up at Mount Isa. I then crossed into the Northern Territory to Tennant Creek via the Barkly Highway where I found a spot to roll out the swag last night.
This morning I completed a few caches around Tennant Creek before starting to make my way south down the Stuart Highway towards Alice Springs, doing the caches along the way. But as seems to be my way with these trips, I got a bit distracted. I noticed two earthcaches that looked to be in interesting locations off the Binns Track well east of the Stuart Highway and north of the Plenty Highway, and thought I’d head there for tonight instead.
I enjoyed my look around the buildings here as I headed south.
Thanks Liz and Bruce for the cache.

Could the next geocacher please place a container and log. Low in tree. Some remnant of original still there. with thanks Liz and Bruce
