Gravitational pull1.0/4.0 Regular Traditional Cache Great caching day with b@w while he was in town. So glad he tagged me along especially when he's targeting high d/t caches! What a relief to be caching with a company and to fill those missing gaps in my grid. No problems finding the cache when you've got a reliable 4wd, a short walk to gz with our fly nets on made a quick find.Thank you for the cache Mon-a-mique and Deejay66.
TFTC,Don't know about any gravitational pull but at GZ there was so much Iron on top, it attracted my magnet. It was an easy find for us given so many recent visitors who have left a foot print trail for us to follow.Great cache well placed, visited trackables and added a favourite.
Now after staying the night, it was off to do the caches, a nice walk to GZ trying to follow the geo trail which sometimes took a different turn than us. Couldn't believe the cache was in the open, stamped the log and replaced. Now to follow the footprints back to the camp grounds. Thanks for bringing us.
Found this cache whilst on our two month adventure throughout central Australia and remote parts of WA.This was a bit further from the carpark than I expected but worth the walk. Its a weird feeling when you follow footprints to GZ. You almost expect to see someone out there. Thanks to all the COs for adding to our adventure. TFTC
A number of caches that had sparked my interest from before but figured Id need a bigger trip to collect and course what gear to bring plus it had rained a week before so wondered about conditions. A discussion with a past Alice local suggested a quicker and shorter route to Finke so having a 4WD set off on another early trip with E_Similey for a big day including a short cut back through Rainbow Valley. We made good time despite a number of puddles and muddy sections along the route and side trips with some dunes near the Hugh River although our time was not good enough to place in the recent Finke Race. The track in off the main road was ok and we soon arrived for the first of 3 caches here. Amazed to get reception part way on the way to the cache. Interesting to see the pair of skis on the dunny. TFTC
Maybe this is the real real real centre, but hard to get the car here. I walked the 700 m from where I could park the car . Nothing to see at GZ except flies .Cheers
OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa We left the caravan at Kulgera Pub and took a day trip to Lamberts Centre. Middle of nowhere and middle of Australia is quite a spot. Loved the drive out there and the flowers we saw on the track. This was definitely the most remote bush bash weve done ! Peppa had to be carried as her little legs arent great in the soft sand. We had an army of flies travelling across country with us too lolSuch a great location for a cache, Im really happy to have singed the log (although now Im writing this log I realised I dated our visit as 8 April in error!) Have a FP from me. Tftc
Travelling with iluvtrekking up the WA coast to Darwin and down through the Centre. Today we left Erldunda headed for Kulgera for an overnight stay so that we could do the three caches at the geographical centre of Australia. Well, it was a very bumpy ride down the Finke Road and an even bumpier and corrugated ride on the 12 klms along Pastoral Road to the feature. We found a track that we could park in just 550 mts from gz. Then it was a case of follow the freeway of footprints (both human and animal) to make the find at gz. Thanks for the hide.
Travelling with richlink from Perth to Darwin along the west coast and home again through the centre and the Nullarbor, picking up caches along our route. We made the detour to the geographical centre of Australia to find this cache. Thanks for the adventure.
We walked from the marked celebrated centre to this centre. Nobody's going to tell me I nearly made it! We continually picked out trees to aim at rather than following the arrow. At times we had (human) footprints guiding us too. It seemed to be a long wat there but just a short hop back. Cache was found easily.
Thanks deejay66
Our Northern Territory journey began in Darwin around 3am after a very delayed flight. We drove as far north as Fresh Water Camp (northeast of Darwin), followed by a loop to Liberated Cox (out to the west) and Litchfield National Park returning to Darwin. We then headed south with overnight stops at Katherine, Daly Waters and Devils Marbles before reaching our southernmost accommodation at Erldunda. From here we did a day trip to Lamberts Gravitational Centre on onward past Finke. Our last couple of days were in Alice Springs with a side trip via Hermannsburg and Glen Helen, all up covering just under 3800km. My thanks to all the COs with hides throughout the territory for helping make our trip so enjoyable.

Well we couldn't come all this way and not find this one too could be so we literally followed SimplyPauls tracks to GZ and were very pleased to add our name to the cache.
This trip was sort of in place of a trip to a Mega that got canceled due to accommodation problems, I was quite happy when Goose said do you fancy to caching break in the Northern Territory as this would be the last State or Territory for me in Australia.
Our plan was to fly into Darwin on the Friday night have a couple days in the area then start heading South stopping overnight whenever we needed to, our next goal was the drive to the geographic centre of Australia at Lambert Centre and then head back to Alice to fly home ten days later.
We both had a great trip finding some important old caches, large ones and the odd clever one too, we found Ammo Cans all over the place which was nice as i think we have found most of the ones at home in Tassie.
Thanks for the cache.

No place to break a leg. No place to bring a rental Yaris either, but here we are. Interesting animal prints spotted in the area. Camel perhaps? That or bears and I don't think you have bears (Koalas DO NOT count!) Anyway, a great way to feel truly in the butt-end of beyond. Thanks for a fun one on a busy day of adventures! TNLN-TFTC! FP+1.

Heading up to darwin to get away from the melbourne cold weather for a few weeks. Quite the adventure walking out to this one, Good thing i set the Trackback on the GPS as i rekon it could be really easy to get lost out here. No landmarks to find or anything. I thought i might be able to use the toilet block as a reference point, but once you go out through the trees and into the open-ness you cant see it anymore!.. Just be careful out here!.
Spent the night on our way out to the Simpson Desert! Unbelievably there were about twenty others camped here as well. Wandered out in the morning to locate the cache, great views! Were stalked by a curious emu all the way back to camp. Thanks for an excellent cache, a favourite point for this one!
Wow, what an ideal place for a cache. Looking back through the logbook I saw names that I know and noted that it had been logged by at least 2 non-caching surveyors over the years. One was an army surveyor, who wrote about how he had came across the cache whilst surveying and appreciated why it was there. Cool story bro.
Compared to the last 2 weeks of our trekking through the outback in temperatures averaging about 37 degrees, today was a fine 27. Malipara didn't feel up to the walk, so I went solo. There was evidence in footprints of dingoes, feral cats, donkeys, horses and wallabies. I've been on the lookout for snakes, but have only seen the one along the road near Dalhousie Springs. None seen here, but no doubt they'd be around.
The cache was found easily and with the pleasure that I can now say that I have been to the real centre of this great land.
Thanks for this placement. More than happy to give it a FP.

Visited Lambert Geographical Centre of Australia during a trip from Adelaide to Kulgera, across the Madigan Line to Birdsville and back with e.gregory1. One of the many highlights of the trip was camping out and watching the sunrise at Lambert Centre. Walked out across the sandhills and located the cache after a short search. Thanks for the cache Mon-a-mique and Deejay66!
Wow this was quite a stroll through the bush! Scary to think how easy it would be to get lost out here. Cache was a quick find once we had reached the spot. TFTC

Continuing our trip from Melbourne to Darwin and back, today we left the van at Kulgera and went on a side trip to the Lambert Center of Australia.
Rather than gravitational pull, I think this one was centrifical toss as we wandered and wandered over hill and through dale until finally I happened on a well (weather) cammo’d chocolate box.
Nice one

Quite the trek. Followed thong footprints in sand with Shumba7 on a road trip through the centre to Birdsville for the Big Red Bash. TFTC
TFTC. Found with Algae ️we are on a road trip from Ballarat to Birdsville, off to the big red bash. Grabbing some smilies along the way in some towns. Saw a squirrel up a tree here…
First stop from Ballarat - Beaufort, Ararat, Great Western, Stawell, Underbool, Murrayville, time travelled and lost all our fruit and veg in the process..…… South Australia - Loxton, Worlds End, Mount Bryan, Orrorro, Parachilna, Coward Springs, William Creek, Oodnadatta, Dalhousie Springs, Mount Dare, Northern Territory - Finke, Lamberts Centre of Australia….. purple and yellow flowers in the dessert….and now onto the next.

A bit of a hike in the double pluggers. Amazing to think how easy it could be to get disoriented out here.
The chocolates were gone.
This leg of the journey saw us head from Jamestown to Alice via the Oodnadatta Track and Dalhousie Springs. I only found a few of the caches each day as I want to save some for later on when we return.
Highlights was the Farina Bakery, beers at Marree, William Creek and Mt Dare hotels, Peake mining area, fishing at Algebuckina, swimming at Dalhousie (with dingoes howling in the night) and sharing Lamberts with hundreds of mice.. and the caches too!
Sandyofthesea and I took off from Perth at the start of April to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. How good is this country!!
deejay66, I found Gravitational pull today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Wow - such an adventure to get out here
A story behind this one - walking out to GZ, the gos was taking us in the supposed direction, and we came across the ‘actual’ Centre of Australia Trigg Point - how awesome was that for us ))))
Then as soon as we headed off to the gz, the compass changed direction to your geocache.
So weird, an awesome bonus to find your geocache and the REAL Centre of Australia
Happy Dance all around

This was a target cache for this trip and we enjoyed the walk with ilook4geo over the sandhills to get to it. It was interesting to know that this cache had been placed at the true co-ordinates for the central point. The view from the top of the sandhills was really good too. After signing the cache log we wandered back to the car and then decided to go and sign the visitors book near the flag pole. Imagine how surprised we were to see that the last people to sign the book earlier in the day were cachers Brad and Janet.
We saw a car nearby and went over to investigate and yes! Janet was waiting for Brad. Had a good geo chat which continued when Brad returned from finding the cache that we had just signed as well. It was great to meet them.
Thank you to Mon-a-mique and Deejay66 for placing this cache.

This was an interesting cache placed with a purpose. Good views were a bonus. Happy to sign the log with goingplaces2. TFTC.
So this is a cache which averages around 6 finds a year. Only two finds since mid 2019.
Well you can imagine our surprise today when after hiking over a number of sand dunes Brad opened the log book to find her was not even first to sign today! There were two names already in the logbook for today!
When Brad got back to Janet she was talking with ifindgeoo and goingplaces2. Somehow we had crossed on the way out and back.
We were not even first to find for the hour!

When I saw this one I thought that’s not far from where I am. But a half a kilometre slog through the hot desert sands is a long way. But I made it. And if you get this log, it also means I made it back too!

A hot walk in long pants in 30+ degrees, and I forgot the water bottle, easy find. A very hot and dry walk on the way back. A thought crossed my fmind as I was walking over the dunes on the way back, if it was not for the GPS, you would never know exactly where you started from, there are no landmarks.
Thanks for a hike to never never land. Hope we can find our way out as we are from WA
What a great walk! Easy find great nice at GZ. Log is in excellent condition. TFTC
We arrived. We checked out the toilets. They were not in good condition. Desperate times. Then, a fairly long walk in the harsh sun. But, we were rewarded with a cache in the geographical centre of Australia!!! Thanks for placing the cache Mon-a-mique and Deejay66, a fantastic location.
We stopped at Lamberts Centre at took the usual photos at the monument. However, as geocachers we weren't happy until we were at THE centre.
We did the short walk, thankfully it wasn't hot and the flies weren't too bad.
Found the tin and the marker, signed the log and took more photos.

I took up the challenge and went for a walk in the bush with a couple of new caching friends I picked up in the car park. We said we could get list together.
Well, luckily that didn’t happen and with a little help from some fairly recent tracks we made it there and back in one piece.
This is week 2 of our 5 week outback adventure. Tftc.

Found with Zobo04, Hearse068 and The Hardacres . We are on a little trip from Broken Hill to Cameron Corner to Lyndhurst up the Oodnadatta Track and finally finishing up at Ayres Rock. This is one of the caches we found along the way. Thanks for taking the time to place it. TFTC well that was fun just after sunset had to be really quick to find it and get back before dark. We just made it. Giving it a fav for it s location.
we went for an adventure with this one. we thought there was a track and then quickly realised it was a walk. the colour of those sand dunes was awesome and a fantastic place to adventure too. tftcsl
After walking around in circles I finally ended up at GZ and found the cache quickly then. TFTC
I was heading up to Alice Springs from Adelaide on my own to meet up with someone and decided to deviate a little to make the journey more interesting.
I had intended to go to Chambers Pillar, which was a ‘bucket list’ destination for me, when I noticed that Lambert Centre was ‘more or less’ (perhaps a bit less than more) on the way, so I couldn’t miss visiting it.
I ended up traveling via Kulgera, Lambert Centre, Finke, the Old Ghan track, Chambers Pillar, the Hugh River Stock Route, Rainbow Valley and Owen Springs Reserve, finding a few caches along the way. It took me a few days longer, but was well worth it.
This cache was well worthwhile. It was a bit warm in the early afternoon, but the walk over the dunes was fine. The container was found easily and is all in good order.
Thanks deejay66 for the cache. A favourite point from me.

First to drive out this way after rain storms - clean sand washed tracks and a few big puddles to go through or navigate carefully. Sunset walk - what a great feeling of remoteness. Just walking in the dunes. Took a few extra precautions to return given dark onset. I'm glad we made it to the the real pin point spot, not so many would have done this one. I hope the mathematicians got it right!
WHOOPS! I'm logging about 100-200 or so caches like 3 months after the trip that we found them on! Completely forgot to log these but I did not forget the trip! Found this cache along with many others on an adventure around the red centre. Along this adventure we visited and explored many phenomenal and surreal places such as Woomera, Coober Pedy, Uluru and Mutitjulu, Kata Tjuta, Wattarka, Tnorala, Both East and West Macdonnell ranges, Arltunga, Ruby Gap, Palm Valley, Parts of the Finke road, Boggy Hole, Rainbow Valley, Old Ghan Route, Chambers Pillar, Oodnadatta track, Mount Dare, Dalhousie Springs, Painted Desert, Moon plane and I'm sure I've missed a few! Thank you so much for the cache. Found with Ferociousflea and -Beaker- along with our mint 79 series that accomplished alot in this two week time frame.

We enjoyed the journey to this cache, stayed overnight with a campfire and marvelled that we were in the centre of Australia. After a short walk we arrived at GZ, making sure we marked where the car was for a safe return.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Todays journey was from Erldunda to Mt Dare Station, and everything in between. Travelling with Micaparamedic, it was fantastic to come out here today. It was Mica who found the cache after a brief search and added our names to the log. Thanks to Mon a mique and Deejay66.
Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about so I targeted this cache.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!

We headed across to this one from the Multi, and had to take the scenic zig-zag route to avoid the 50 bazillion spiders strung up between the trees.
But we eventually got to GZ after a longer than expected stroll and the cache was spotted easily enough so we could all sign our lives away in the book.
Then we had to rush to save a geographically challenged Princess who had tried to follow our foot prints in but wandered off the scent.

OMG! If this isn't spider heaven. They certainly made the walk to GZ a lot longer but it didn't matter, what a fabulous place to be able to say you have been to. Thanks so much for the cache and bringing us here.
Took a very zig zag route to get here as we dodged all the spider webs (and spiders) strung out between the trees. We got there in the end though.

We were 750 m to GZ and it had just gone 5.15 pm. A 1.5 km walk with the kids at this time of afternoon after a long day in the car didn’t seem to appeal to Mrs EMC so we sent Mr EMC off for this one. He usually runs and come back quickly. Today he had to walk as there was no real path and there were lots of spiders and webs. He seemed to be gone forever. We must have waited for over 30 mins and all sorts of things were building up in Mrs EMC head – he has been kidnapped, some crazy person has taken him, he has been bitten by a snake, he has fallen and blacked out etc. It was quite a relief when he came sauntering back. He had misjudged the car and ended up 200 odd mtrs away from us! It was late by the time he got back so we were all pleased when he announced that we would stay the night at this lovely spot. TFTC! eatmorchikin from Brisbane (been to Alice event and heading home via the Simpson Desert)
A bit of a trek to get this cache , geowife spotted first signed log, picked up tb, tried to find other cache but didn't. Stayed at Kulgera for 2 nights , road out to turn off in good condition but watch the dips, side track a bit rougher, stayed in 4x4 but did not need it, went on to Finke then back to Kulgera. TFTC
On the list of must do on our outback adventure, I wasn't disappointed! Sad to see people had driven through the vegetation. We did the right thing and took a lovely walk, loved it! Thanks for bringing me here, so much fun! SL TFTC
Hi there deejay66.
We found your cache **"Gravitational pull"** at 11:23:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 14038.
Another day of our month long trek from Whyalla to Darwin. The trek up to Coober Pedy was very windy, but luckily the wind has now died away so it doesn't feel like driving through syrup any longer.
We spent an extra day in Kulgera so we could drive out and log this cache. The road was a little torn up after the recent rains, but easily manageable in the geo-Jeep.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache exactly where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Found while on a trip north ,with the Moonta Vietnam veterans club.We went up to the Alice, Via Hawker,Oodnadata,Marree,Mount Dare, then on to the geometrical centre of Australia, where we hoisted a new flag onto the flagpole. From there to the Alice Via Old Andado. We came home down the highway .Finding caches along the way added a another highlight to the trip, also gave us a break from driving.Thank for the hunt. An enjoyable walk after doing the flag raising.
We found this cache on our Northern road trip, which was to celebrate my significant birthday. We saw some great places, met some wonderful people and slept through some 3 dog nights. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and finding caches made the trip more memorable – Thank you and ……Joy to the World!!
On our outback trip with the High Range 4WD Club finding caches with firesafe and The Barramundi's TFTC
Heading out on an Oodnadatta Track trip with Barramundi's and daka70 grabbing caches along the way.

Just had to walk in and find this one on our second visit to Lambert's Centre. This time it was as part of the Trakmaster 2015 East West trek, and we brought the Monarchs with us. Took us a while but we finally located the container, which probably isn't as shiny as it used to be, but was in good, dry condition. TNLN. Thanks for getting the location right deejay66.
Found while camping at Lamberts for two nights, come up the Oodnadatta track, Dalhousie, Mt Dare, Lamberts, Kulgera, Coober Pedy and home again.....
Went for a walk with the geokids out to GZ, flynets on!! Wish we took the water bottles as well!! 32 degrees today... Worth the walk over the red hot dunes to see the view! TFTC

From the 'flagpole' at the supposed middle of OZ, I headed off on foot.
My attendant hoarde of Musca vetustissima accompanied me across the sand dunes which were covered in spinifex and wildflowers
A truly beautiful bit of the world [^]
At GZ I had gained some elevation, and could see for miles across the landscape
The occasional 'Aussie Salute' kept the view clear.
It took about 10 minutes to reach the coords specified on the commemorative plaque back at the flag pole.
So here it is ... The real gravitational centre of Australia
How do you work out something like that ?
At least the tourist industry doesn't have to do any complicated math to figure it out.
They just say where the centre of Australia is and have done with it
Sadly the towne of Finke, just 23 kms away, doesn't feature in any of the tourist brochures !!
TFTC, I was attracted to it [:o)]
It is a member of the geographical must visit spots club.
Pity about the flies [:o]

Couldn't come all this way without visiting the 'true centre of Australia .'
We drove as close as a campsite would let us, then walked the last 650 metres . It does look like someone else has made this a driveby though .
Searched for a while before finding. TNLNSL.
Thanks Mon-a-mique & Deejay66.

A quick stop into here to say we have been to the centre of Aus. My group didnt want to wait around too long. So i had to sprint off to get this cache and the other. Cheers
I thought I had been to the centre before, but no!
This time I took the walk to the real centre while we were on our lunch stop.

A very bumpy ride to the center but beautiful pink and yellow flowers give us a spring feeling! We had the impression to go around in circles to get to the center. The walk gave us pleasant scenery and camelbeds and animal tracks to follow. But we made it! Thanks for taking us to this special spot.
TFTC and thank you for the great location. Caches like this make it a worthwhile activity. Cache in excellent and exposed condition. We found this on our journey to the Pilbara region of WA. A nice stop along the way.
Found on our way to drive to The Lambert Centre from Alice - mission complete - many thanks for the cache.
TFTC.
Found after a long walk with The Gruffalo 333 on 27/2/14
Watch out for snakes, camels & dingo's.
Cache in good shape. Was very exposed so we provided some cover using natural vegetation. Cache still easy to locate. Coordinates very accurate.
Cheers.

Bloody beautiful country here!
Watch out for low flying wedgetail eagles, rabbits (if you are a Monty Python fan) and most of all muggles!

2784. Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 0645 on our run South. the walk was worth the vista out to the west over low scrub and the magnificent red sand hills, baby was a bit late as all the Blake chocolate Ginger was either melted or just gone. SL Tnx deejay66
Found on14th of June with Coggs while on the Diamond Jubilee Australian Tour. Absolutely great spot for a Cache especially as it was at the ACTUAL Centre.
We followed some footsteps through the sand to the cache and suspected were following another Cacher.
It Was micaparamedic whose work I have seen elsewhere.

Drouinrooboy and I founds this on the 13th while on a tour. Great to get to the actual centre. Good idea to follow your track back, it can get confusing, although the footprints in the sand give it awat a bit. TFTC.
Drove 500m then walked the rest of the way following so many human footprints it was amazing out here. Like peak-hour traffic had just been through. Just managed to beat the sunset. This is actually the geographical centre not the gravitational centre. If it was the gravitational centre then there would be gravitational pull and we would be sucked into a giant black hole and everyone knows Oz is not that. Glad to be standing smack in the centre of Oz, not many can say that. Took a cute fluffy emu (made in China!!) and left a book on Harmony, just the feeling you get out here. Getting a fave for the sheer location of the place and the fun we had getting there. TFTC
Quite a ways out there! Kept saying "Probably at that next ridge" Awesome find though. We were the fourth entry there in 3years or so.
Got this one on the way home from a visit to Finke - hubby was a bit distrurb by me wondering off into the Desert head down looking at the GPS. Very excited when I found, standing in the centre of our wonderful country. I love the red dirt.
Thanks for the wonder into the wilderness.
Took: Nothing
Left: round stress ball.
