Down in Tassie for a holiday and had a few set caches that I really wanted to get, this was one of them. I needed a little help with the co-ords (clearly need to learn more about how to score cricket!), very happy to get my name in the log today.TFTC
Have had this one solved for a while but only got around to visiting GZ today. TFTC!Cheers,The Hancock Clan
Having solved this one quiet sometime ago we finally got around to finding this one.
Thank you so much for the puzzle and the cache

Our time in Tasmania is rapidly coming to an end, and this is our second to last day of caching here. With many more solved puzzles and challenges we want to find, many of them short uphill walks, we know we have a full and active day ahead of us.
One of us is much more knowledgeable on this subject than the other, so he was the one who made the solve on this one. We made sure to pass by today for a quick park-up and a find in the first place we checked. TFTC

I learnt a bit about scoring cricket when solving this one and once the coordinates were sorted a quick find was made.
What a great idea for a puzzle! Nice little hiding spot. TFTC Budgietas, a fav point.
I discounted it as missing when I found the sticking apparatus but no container. However upon closer inspection it was tucked and wedged further back. Needs a new magnet but otherwise in tip top shape. We added a Spider-Man scope as treasure!
Having decided on some urban caching for our day out, tassietan and I solved some puzzles in the general area we had decided on, and off we set.
A nice easy find before heading to Risdon Brook Dam for the rest of our day.
Thanks Budgietas for another fun cache.

Muggle partner helped with puzzle back at home in anticipation for RoadieM and I heading off for a day of caching in and around the city. Found the cache quickly and then we were on our way. Thanks Budgietas.
Guilty as charged! [8)]
I found this one by accident out of curiosity and naturally having found 9 caches in the Meehan Ranges i SL of this one knowing i'd have 10 for the day
Still, i really wanted to solve it when i got back
13 or so bombs on the Geochecker proved fruitless seeing i tried to get a green light in order to get the true co-ords so i could reverse-engineer this one in order to know how to solve it, me feeling so guilty [8)] and the funny thing is i know Cricket reasonably well being a lover of it, yet i still was having trouble
Later in the evening the green light was achieved [^]
I can't wait for next Summer now when the Hobart Hurricanes play and win!
(When i did find the cache in my travels, i SL at 13:01 on Wednesday 12 May 2021).

We had a plan to hike the Meehan range today so with the help of a local cricket player we solved the puzzle last night. This cache was the first of the day and quickly found at GZ. Tftc Budgietas
Spending a couple of weeks in Tassie as Tarbit needed to come over here for work. I was fortunately able to 'work from Homebart' so used my time in the evenings to nip out and about locally and try a few caches. I spend my Saturdays in Summer umpiring cricket so not too much trouble to sort this one out. A nice looking ground nearby and the evening I came past there was game going on too. Had to double back in the car but once I stopped in the right area it was a quick find here. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache Budgietas. Well done on your cricketing exploits!
Out and about collecting some puzzle caches that we solved during lockdown.

Puzzle needed a revisit.
Asked a coworker today where I had gone wrong on my first attempts years ago.
A quick stop not-quite on my way home from work.

Love the Cricket so did the work for this mystery cache at home a while ago. Nice parking at GZ and yes Cricket was being played today across the road. Dinosaur left all good and dry at GZ and slips nicely back in its hide, thanks Budgietas for another one it is very much appreciated.
Think i needed some help on the puzzle even though cricket is my thing. The find, not magnetic anymore.
'Tis the season for all things crickety. Staying with membsec at the moment and they have been watching the game. It's not really my cup of tea but I did manage to get some coords for this puzzle.
While driving past with Lady membsec this afternoon she stopped so I could leave my scribble on the log.
Thanks for the cache Budgietas

Talking to fellow catcher about this puzzle I hint was gleaned and scoring was worked out to find GZ of this cache soon while traveling home the cache was found signed and separated from his friend the humtsmam the spider that wanted to come.home with me
After some wrong coordinates...cricket aint really my thing..I finally found it after some research. TFTC.
I had messed up the calculations for this one on the first attempt but they put me at a likely place but we're confirmed as wrong on our last visit to Tassie.
This time, after redoing the whole puzzle, I had a better set of Co-ords we made a quick find and sign as we passed by.

Arr how's that, always ended up at the southern entrance but not today, ended up parking in a spot I have for frogs before and one or two caches up the hill a bit. Nice spot and not much happening down below today. Finally gotten this one off my list.

Whilst the 2nd cricket test between Australia and Pakistan was on recently, I decided it was a good time to have a look at this mystery cache out and work out the correct co-ordinates. One set of clues took a few goes but was able to get some successful co-ordinates entered in the checker. Today it was a quick detour on the way home and the log was retrieved and signed. A lot of dumped rubbish close to GZ! Thanks for increasing my cricket knowledge, and the cache Budgietas.
Hi Budgietas, thanks for the puzzle and the cache. Along with cricketing geoTeen this was solved a few weeks back, and decided today was the day to go find it on the way to the WentworthPark Leap Year Event. A reasonably quick find although I noticed the cache as described in the hint, has separated!
Nice to meet you later at the park.

Had looked at this last year but had overstated our knowledge of the finer points of the game and could not get an appropriate answer. A few weeks ago returned to it and painstakingly confirmed all of the correct answers before getting a "yes". Today, on the way home from a successful FTF decided to use memory of the location (coords at home!). Got near the remembered GZ and walked to a near-by location, quick look and cache came to hand. Thanks for a good memory! Good view for enjoying local sports.

Sun long gone, Kaisho53, Ghostgums and I were making our way toward Salamanca for a warming curry. Naturally, when Icons flash up on the SatNav, you have to pay them the attention they deserve, especially when you've gone ot the trouble of solving the puzzle...
A very convenient parking spot nearby, we pulled in, jumped out and Ghostgums snared the container in a matter of seconds... Oh, I'll jump back in the car then shall I... Names in the log, we were all done and back on the road.
Cheers Budgietas.

Well being a long time student of the game, I was able to knock this puzzle out in no time. We decided to have a look for this one as we made our way into town for dinner! The cache was located after a quick search in the dark!
Found on Day 1, which saw Gunnie69 and myself fly down from Brisbane to meet up with Kaisho53 for a few days of caching around Hobart. The plan was to tackle caches around the airport and our accommodation at Seven Mile Beach, and a few in the CBD where we went to celebrate our first night in town.
Thanks Budgietas for the cache!

Had to come back as the park was full. Quick find. Thanks to the father in law for confirming the score!
Howzat! Having played cricket at the nearby oval for many years, it was nice to look at it from this location. TFTC!
We have to confess that we know nothing at all about cricket, but we have two adult sons who think they know everything about the game. Well guess what, they don't, however one of them has a mate who is a cricket umpire and he answered the questions without 'batting' an eyelid. So with the correct coordinates it was a quick find, even though it was in a different location to where we thought it was going to be. Thanks for the cache.
After several shots we finally got to the correct location. Gold'n touch at 1400. TFTC All is well at GZ.
Worked out the puzzle with a bit of help from the CO, then today we dropped by and found the cache. TFTC.

Puzzle solved easily as we all love our Cricket! - cache retrieved and logged quickly. No game on while we here today. TFTC
Smiley really enjoyed this one as she was an A-grade cricket scorer. A quick find ahead of the bomber. TFTC.
thanks Budgietas, enjoyed the puzzle. We had some help and everybody answered the same question incorrectly but we got there in the end. GZ seems to be a dumping site for rubbish and roadkill! TFTC
Well have looked at the questions for this one so many times and getting the wrong answers I caved in not long back and sent the CO a message to mark my work.
And with a little bit of a nudge in the right direction I soon had a correct from the geochecker at long last.
I saved the cache till I needed to find one that was not far from home so it was a quick drive to GZ and within moments I had the cache in hand, signed and replaced.
Nice puzzle and cache and pleased to see it as a found at long last.
Thanks for the cache.

The Warrane boys were playing today. Found this cache to the sounds of leather knocking on leather. solved this ages ago but only just managed to pick it up.
A puzzle we worked out prior to leaving WA for our Tassie road trip. Our Nuvi chucked a hissy fit and wanted to take us on a grand tour to get us less than a klm away. So we navigated as best we could on unknown roads and in the process made our walk to gz a much higher rated terrain. We came in via the playing fields, had to cross the highway to get to gz.
Cool puzzle. I love scoring, some days more than playing so I found solving the really easy and enjoyed it greatly. Found cache really easy too.
Cricket isn't really the forte of any of the DDTs - Flip knows just about as much about scoring extras as either of the other two team members! Fortunately DD's brothers are more knowledgeable about the game, so she dropped in on one of them for assistance - which proved spot on. We found the actual cache en route to our Christmas in July event, and tried not to look too long or hard at the clouds surrounding our venue - the mountain. Budgie must have known about our doubts, but all went smoothly in the end. We are pondering what all the little 'clay' balls that have been dumped near gz are, but for the moment they remain a mystery, TFTC and the cricket lesson!
It took me a couple of tries to get the right coords but made it in the end. A nice little puzzle Budgie. Tftc
I sat down with a work mate during lunch yesterday and checked my answers with him (one wrong) before finding the cache after work today.
Very easy to find along a road I regularly travel.
Thanks for the cache

Been to the cache, replaced with a larger container and will add checker for the puzzle
I've very little cricket knowledge (or abiliy for that matter!) so thought it best to refer this one to a couple of 'cricket tragic' friends for advice. They quickly came up with the right scores. A game was in progress when I found the cache this morning. Thanks Budgietas for the cache.
Interesting location. Cricket: You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out. When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game.
We checked with the 'Boss' and after discussion found that our interpretation of one of the questions was wrong. So if you get stuck and have searched high and low and need another hint Spoiler Alert - there is a 'trick' to one of the questions. Look again at Question D.
Found when told by DNA! Where to look.

Must admit I tagged along on this one and glad I did. DnA! and TagAlong! led the way as we ended up crossing the road on a dangerous bend.
Quick snatch and grab by my jnr geo and it was a walk back to the car.

Had some trouble with the location of this cache, but with the help of DnA! we found it. TFTC
We thought we had solved this cache ages ago, and being so close to home we should have retrieved it back then. We took cricket fanatic TagAlong! with us today for a "not so quick" retrieval. Also assisting in the hunt were Pippamer & jnr geo. Thanks Budgie for the cache and thanks Old Saint for a little nudge in the right direction.
Second time lucky!! It really does help to be at the correct GZ! Adjusted co-ordinates after receiving a little help from a friend. Thanks Budgietas
Worked with Mynel to get co-ordinates for this one (I know almost nothing about cricket!)
At first it seemed that we were in a likely place for the cache to be, but after a lengthy search, we still had not found it. Then a check of the hint had us wondering if we had it wrong after all.... It was tempting to continue searching the surround areas, but we could have been there for most of the day!

I intend to archive this cache by Christmas 2011 if anybody is still working on it
I thought I knew a few things about cricket, but some of those scenarios had me stumped! A bit of research and a (much too) quick look on Google Earth and I was on my way. Despite knowing this area well, I managed to overshoot the best spot to park, and went overland to the cache location, but found it with little trouble. Nice puzzle and great use of the location. TFTC!
After getting a different answer every time we looked at this we finally found the right co-ordinates and the cache. Thanks to Chris for his cricket expertise! TFTC
We had this puzzle solved some time ago but today was the first opportunity to get south to search for it. We enjoyed the puzzle and were able to make a quick find near a surburban cricket ground - brought back good memories. TFTC
This was cache # 25 of 27 finds on a rather wet last day caching in Tassie. Used to watch the game all the time, but have lost interest of late, thankfully I had a nice quick find on this one. My thanks to Budgietas for the cache.
Took 2 goes to get it but came up with the goods in the end thanks to a little help from OldSaint
Thanks for the cache BudgieTas

I was out and about with Swampy tonight and this popped up on the radar for us to tackle. We soon found out that our coorinates didn't correlate and in the end we had the combined correct answers between us. I received some unnecessary blackberry thorns before we decided we were in the wrong spot, after that it was a quick find.
Many thanks for the lesson and for the views provided here,

Out and about with Team Rubik and this was one that neither of us had found.
After a couple of false starts and driving around an oval, being chucked out (told nicely the gate was going to be locked), some mobile research soon had the correct answer and we were now in the correct area.
A little walk from the cachemobile and a little walk back and Rubik found the cache in quick time. I must be slipping....
TNLN thanks for the cache Budgietas

777 - Well I couldn't travel to Tasmania and not grab this cache whilst we were down here. With cricket being my favourite sport and being an indoor cricket umpire for many years now, the answers came quickly and thankfully were correct as we found the cache in the first place we looked this morning at 11:04am. We tried this one just before 11am but there was a car parked in the only near by car parking place that prevented us pulling up the ego campervan in time. It turns out that the man who had parked there was in the process of dumping a used gas bottle ... Thanks for the cache and the quiz Budgietas.
After emailing budgie my answers, he told me which one of them was incorrect. Easy, I thought, of course, it should be...So with some new coords I went and got a closer up look at the Warrane Cricket Oval - it impressed me too, but no cache. And it was a likely spot too. So then at home I went to Wiki and found out that I was completely wrong in what I'd assumed (on both occasions). Third time lucky, took me to another likely spot and found the cache. Thanks budgie, also for the tip!
I played a lot of cricket as a kid and along the way did a fair bit of scoring too in those old green NSW scoring books.
However some rules of scoring had changed and while my gut feeling was right on all of them google is still a reliable back up.
Confirmed I had the right coords before adding this cache to today's finds before picking up a work colleague at the airport.
Thanks Budgietas

I watched a summer or two of cricket when I was a teenager so thought I had some idea of the rules. Looking at the scenarios, I realised it wasn't a comprehensive idea but I did some calculating and came up with a couple of possible options. Some time later I discussed these with a cricket-mad friend, who informed me of various changes over the years and so on and we settled on an answer. I went to where my calculations pointed, and with not a cricket ground in sight, thought something must be wrong there somewhere. I had a bit of look at any likely spots, but think I have to go back to the drawing board...or the cricket pitch.
Took Mum and Anne to Eastlands then went over to score a four on this one. Cricket being played at the ground and will post a pic when I get home. Thanks to budgietas for correcting my one scoring error, which soon had me facing the bowler for a perfect century on this one, unlike the other two times when I was bowled for a duck. TFTC and cheers OldSaint.
I have two copies of "Cricket Umpiring and Scoring" at home - one from 2000, and one from about 1975!
This meant I had some coordinates very quickly after the cache was published, but a Google Maps check put them in the middle of someone's house.
I then wondered whether case c) was signalled "Wide" (although the text didn't mention it).
This gave me a much more sensible location.
Now, the choice was whether to risk the wrath of Mrs RC by being late home to cook dinner, just for the FTF. In the end, I decided I had stretched things a bit far over the weekend, and just hoped it would still be there in the morning.
I saw the dean_erwin FTF overnight, but still went first thing this morning. The cache was in the first place I looked, but I didn't see it, so I spent a few minutes searching the general area before coming back to the start and spotting it immediately.
Thanks, Budgie!

My solution of the puzzle had me searching in the wrong place, but through the application of some common sense and a little trial and error the cache was located without too much trouble. I sustained one bull-ant bite to my finger - a small price to pay for my first Hobart FTF!
