In from the OC to cache the National Trails Highway series. Picking up a few along the way. Dropped a legal alien. SL TFTC
Visiting from Ontario, Canada to cache on Route 66. The prize? Just being here to enjoy the fabulous scenery is prize enough.
A Team of caching friends from PA traveled to the West Coast to do the ET Highway Geo-trail, TS series in Yerington and PTA series in CA. We are out for 8 days to cache and sight see. We had a Blast! Beautiful country out here and the weather was prefect. I found just over 3200 caches for the trip, and over a 1000+ finds in one day on the ET Highway. We called ourselves "Team LOST" and logged the caches as such for Levidan, Philflyboy, Albsjudge, Coinboss and Hillwilliam, to save time and space. Thank you to everyone who placed and maintained the caches we found. TFTC
Well our 2013 Geocaching vacation/trip has finally arrived. Early on a SNOW filled spring morning in Lancaster, Our group called Team L.O.S.T. consisting of Philflyboy, Levidan, Hillwilliam, Albsjudge, and myself CoinBoss. We gathered early to drive to the Philadelphia Airport, all eager and ready to fly to Nevada to conquer the ET highway along with the oldest and third oldest caches in Nevada, the Alien head geoart, and UFO geoart. We will hopefully travel thru California, Arizona, and Utah before we head home with our VERY eager 4000 finds. We stopped at the airport and grabbed caches while waiting for our plane. The flight was pretty uneventful, other than me showing Hillwilliam that I do snore like a loud chainsaw as others have warned her. Once in Vegas we rented our car and started off to get supplies and start caching.. It was a long 22 hour day of caching we got in before hitting bed for something like 5 hours of bad sleep due to jet lag… YUK.. But at least we all escaped the snow in PA and welcomed the 60 degrees weather when we arrived…! We completed our first day here by completing the Alien head and UFO geoart at NIGHT its worth waiting till night to complete it… it’s a whole different experience then during the daylight hours.
It took us day 2, 3, and an hour of day 4 to complete the ET highway and some surrounding caches. It was a lot of fun driving thru such desolate areas of the desert as part of this series. I loved the what looked like an abandoned ranch we all took lots of photos in this area on day 3 of our trip.
The rest of day 4 and day 5 was a nice change from the past few days. We took our Team L.O.S.T. stamps and started searching out stakes. We had a great time these two days, however the two rental cars did not care for it. Some areas we should have rented higher riding cars or a jeep. We did manage not to get stuck here. There was one true coinboss adventure though, when we were on a dirt road on a side of a hill with no room to pass, I was trying to assist another around one of our cars. I went up to his window to let him know I will spot him around our cars, it was then I noticed he was about 95 years old, but he also had his right hand resting on his shotgun sitting beside him. Boy was I glad I got him around us without scratching his vehicle… LOL
Day 6, 7, and 8 we stayed in Vegas and cached during the day then took the evening off to walk and see the strip. Saturday morning we made sure to make the poker run event and we all had a great time. I also learned a new way to do a poker run and will be sure to bring the two apps back to our Lancaster PA events. Team L.O.S.T. also won 4 of the drawings at the evening event. Thanks for hosting these great events and really unique caches.
Thanks to all the COs for maintaining the caches we have been planning to grab on this trip for at least two years now.

I have already got some of the 66 Series on the other road. So I figured now was a good time to get some on this road. Thanks to Socal ZukiCachers for all these great caches. Just a quick P & G for another smiley. TFTC SL
Dear Cache, Wow what a trip! Team STNY hooked up once again to do some caching in the west. AKiteFlier from Chicago, Illinois and Humboldt Flier from N.W. California have invaded the deserts of the American Southwest. This will be our 3rd. trip out west together, with multiple trips for each of us as members of other teams. Something about the desert seems to keep calling us back. This time our target was the Route 66 trail plus interesting caches along the way. We also focused on solving some puzzles to add to our non-traditionals. We logged a total of 1167 miles on the rental car! Now that's a lot of driving. The weather was spectacular - mid 60s and clear, clear skies. Cold at night. Thanks for the leg stretch. Thanks for the fun. Many Thanks to your owner for having placed you. TNLN SL TFTC
WHAT A TRIP! Humboldt flier and I hooked up as team STNY to do some caching in the west. This will be our 2nd trip out to the desert west together and 3 or 4 trips for each of us total. Something about the desert keeps calling us back. This time our target was the Route 66 trail plus interesting caches along the way. We also focused on solving some puzzles to add to our non-traditional counts. We logged a total of 1167 miles on the rental car! Now that's a lot of driving. The weather was spectacular - mid 60s and clear, clear skies. Cold at night (well, cold is relative - while I was out here in the 28-30 degree nights it dropped to 7 degrees for a HIGH in Chicago so 28 wasn't so bad after all!) Many, many thanks to you, Socal ZukiCachers, for placing this cache to keep us entertained. TFTC.
Spent another day in the area grabbing some caches in town and along Route 66. All the caches are in great shape and replacements weren't needed anywhere. Had to have lunch at the Bagdad Cafe. Neat people and one of the neatest caches we've done. Thanks to all the cache owners who have taken time to place caches for others to enjoy and believe me....we have!! TFTH
On holidays from Australia we had planned on doing a spot of caching whilst in and around Barstow and Las Vegas. One of our goals was to complete the Route 66 series. Early start, late finish was in order and after a long 15+ hours, we completed the series and some extra's along the way. Wow what an experience that was! FurfacesLL No 2 sprained her ankle on the Yermo series, and FurfacesLL No 1 was down with a cold, So we were very pleased with ourselves. A days' rest then off to tackle the ET Highway! Thanks to the cache owners for all the work in maintaining these caches.
