I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Hi Kasue
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Along with others, found the tube that I assume used to contain the log. Shame there hasn’t been a replacement put there. Looking forward to a few days here in matauri bay. A great monument.
Had a good search but nothing in the pvc pipe that others have mentioned. Stunning views so still happy to have climbed the hill.
so disappointed not to have a smiley here, pretty sure the gz was located but it was empty
Decided to try and get the two in this bay but could not find either of them.
Found the pipe that looked like it used to house the cache, but found no cache.

Could also find the pipe, but no cache.
But the view is amazing and the spot is very peaceful. TFTC

Found the circular pipe which I assume is meant to act as a housing for the cache, but the actual container was nowhere to be found. Beautiful monument and view though.
As well as a tribute to the victims of French and US colonialism, Mr KM came here to see the last resting place of the Sir William Hardy as he knew it
When it was a research vessel he sailed on it in the early seventies to the Faero Islands. Greetings from Scotland and TFTC

6.00pm. We remember when the rainbow warrior was blown up and all the fuss that followed.Took our time coming up and we certainly loved the views. That's worth a favourite from us. And we found the cache too.
Thank you. David and Noeline.
Thank you. David and Noeline.

Leider hatte wir keinen Stift dabei und in der Dose war leider auch keiner drin. Vielen Dank fürs legen und pflegen Grüße von aus Dresden (Deutschland)
What a climb - especially with my gammy leg! But well worth the view. TFTC
On a bit of a road trip this weekend to try and make some good progress on the new Mystery at the Museum souvenir challenge. I have very few unfound caches anywhere near home base, so these challenges are a good excuse to head off on a mission and potentially visit some new places.
This was one place that I had been before, although it has been five or six years since I was last here. Always a neat place to visit. With the good hint and no muggles about this avo, soon made a quick find of the cache, signed the log and replaced safe and secure. Pleased to also find another gem for the challenge. TFTC.

Wow what a spot, so glad we made... geokids inspired! No geopen so photo attached, well worth a fav! TFTC
Today was the fifth day of our trip to the Bay of Islands region. After having a nice breakfast we set of heading north along the tourist drive. We did the Rainbow Warrior dive a few days ago and returned to this site today to walk up to the memorial and find this cache. The weather was not that nice with a few showers every now and then. We started to hike up the track during a rain brake. Arriving at the top we enjoyed the view over the islands of the shore. After a short search the cache was located and the log signed. The Rainbow Warrior is a magnificent ship wreck now laying just a short way of the coast and well worth a visit. Tftc. FP for the view and the great dive I had at the Rainbow Warrior.
Good walk up the hill to the memorial. I was a teenager when the Rainbow Warrior was sunk.
WoW!
Rain blows in and across as I sit here.
Impressive location.
May the good fight continue.
Thank you for marking this spot with a cache.
It adds value to the game.
I left a pen just in case someone finds themselves ill prepared.
Now I must get down in one piece.

Greetings from Germany, Cuxine
Our first try to get here bombed out. So got some much needed help from the local residents in the overflowing camp sight to find the start of the track. Now this it better. Up we go to this amazing tribute to The Rainbow Warrior. A quick snag and tag here. Now lets try the other one. We went back down and round to the crevise and hunted and hunted. Then back up the track and down the bank with still no joy. Continued down the bank for another quick look in the crevice. Love those roots coming down from way up there. But still no joy. Loved visiting this place anyway so fav from me.
Friday - day fourteen - Kerikeri - northwards with The Seagnoid , toby and William. Zara gets to rest up in KeriKeri again.
Its another epic 3+ week geocaching adventure with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and Willam to the Far North. What an amazing place to explore. Lots of walks, gravel roads and sand. Lots of amazing trees, beaches and interesting POIs. Lots of kilometers traveled by vehicle and foot. Vehicle breakdowns, making new friends and catching up with old friends and family. Snagged a couple of FTF's, lots of lonely caches and the odd event along the way. Lots of cache maintenance and replaced caches on this trip. But what an incredible adventure!!. Thanks to all the CO's who have made this trip so memorable..

What a great tribute. I remember this all happening. Enjoyed the walk and the tribute and the view. Gets a favourite.
Day fourteen of an awesome, tiring, long, three week holiday geocaching with Taybeedragon in the upper north. Today it's Paihia. The whole trip comprised of hours of walking on sand, sliding down sand dunes, hundreds of kilometres of unsealed roads, car breakdowns, paddling out to islands, lighthouses, dolphins, goats, events, FTFs, weird boulders. You name it, we saw it. Lots of bisons, lots of cache maintenance, lots of sunscreen. A month is enough. I am glad to be back home. Except that now I have to write up my trip. We averaged just 20 caches per day, but that is still a lot of logging!
Merry Christmas from the Seagnoid!

After a long rock climb around the coast and up the overgrown fields we finally found the cache! TFTC
As we were camped just below this headland we decided to take a walk up to the memorial. I had forgotten about this act of state terrorism by the French government so this timely reminder was welcome.
Thanks Kasue for the geocache!

Visited this place today and had an amazing view from up here. I wasn’t aware of this event, probably to young back then. TFTC, everything was well in order.
Auf unser Rundreise durch Neuseeland wurden wir auch an diesen Schönen Ort geführt und konnten die Dose finden.

Visiting from Hamburg, Germany. This ist very beautiful Place. Thanks for the cache.
Staying with family nearby and just had to start geocaching somewhere on this our 3rd visit to NZ. This seemed a very suitable cache to begin and lived up to the idea of being taken some where of real interest. TFTC and have a favourite point
Saw on the map the icon for a tourist destination and Rainbow Warrior. It looked like it would make a nice side trip on the drive to Kaitaia, so off we went. Beautiful beach and area. The climb got the heart racing, but the views from the top were magnificent. TFTC
VikingNav and I are driving from Whangarei to Kaitaia today and picking up some caches along the way. This was one of our targets for the day. Thanks for the fun cache! Cheers! >^..^
Found this cache together with my family (Sibuk and Finn). For details see the log of Sibuk.
Thanks for the cache, Lupid

During our wonderful vacation in New Zealand Lupid, me, and our little geocaching apprentice managed to find some caches.
Today we visited this memorial. Coming here with the car takes quite some tome, but apart from the memorial there is also a magnificent view and a really nice beach to enjoy
So thanks for bringing us here!
TFTC and greetings from Germany, Sibuk

I found this cache together with my partner, Pityulino, during our holiday in New Zealand. Today we visited Cape Reinga and also searched for caches under the way and in the area. This was an extremely nice walk uphill and a great view from above. Thank you for the information about the attack against the Rainbow Warrior. I have to admit, I did not remember this scandal. It may be my excuse that at that time I was a young mother with a 2 month old baby, so my focus was elsewhere. Thank you for reminding us on this issue with this cache. Greetings from Hungary!
#9581. A nice day to explore off Matauri Bay Road in Matauri Bay and walked up to the Rainbow Warrior Memorial. What a special place – we remember the recent history well. GZ was all quiet when we visited. Quick find. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. But unfortunately neither Bettsy's Bug nor Günni der Hammel was in the cache.

Out with my muggle friends to show them a bit of beautiful northland, it took us here at a great spring day
It was real fun, to "hunt" with them, as they enjoyed it tremendously and I do. credit the fund to them
Well found and a nice fitting TB dropped

After lunch we made the trek to the top. It was not as steep or long as I was expecting which was nice. Very windy today but still a lovely view. Found the cache quite easily. There are no TB's in it. Thank you for placing this cache in what must be one of the best views in the country.
One of memorial spot on my bucket list. Was here in 2015 but no time to search the cache because travelling with family. Stunning view after a steep hill walk. TFTC
Great little walk up to the Rainbow Warrior memorial. Fantastic views although very windy. TNLN. TFTC.
While travelling through New Zealand we found this nice place and the cache. TFTC Die Waldelfen
Great to have a reason to climb up the hill from the camp to the memorial. The sculpture is weathering nicely and looks more at home here than the first time we visited many years ago when on our way out to dive on the Rainbow Warrior. Well hidden but quick to locate. TFTC
We did not feel very welcomed to this place. First of all there was no indication or sign at all where the track up the hill started. Lots of NO PARKING signs, and NO PUBLIC ENTRY to the motor camp where we had to go. We had to park at the large car park 600m from GZ, then walked to the beach but could not find the track up. So we walked into the motor camp from the back and found the sign at the start of the track at S 35 01.657 E 173 54.927. A short, steep climb to the top, but worth it! Having read the previous problems with this one I came equipped with a pill bottle and new log sheet to insert into the clever hiding place. The previous temporary log was left in as well. So all good to go, this one deserves more visitors, it is a special place - a favourite added.
On the way to Waitangi we could take some caches along the way. The hints and the coords were good and so we were quickly found. WE found only the outside box and give a new container and logsheet!!
A really interesting story and we can remember the tragedy.
Thanks for the care of the cans and greetings from Germany say the Moorhelmis

Visited the Memorial today and found something that might have been the holder to a container, but it was empty (see photo).
Anyway a great view and a place to come and remember the RW and the anti-nuclear activities in the 80ies.
Thanks for placing a cache here!

On our Sunday trip we visited one of the greatest beaches in Northland. After a short steep walk. We arrived at the lookout and the Rainbow warrior memorial and enjoyed the gorgeous view. The container is easy to find. Tftc

We asked in the nearby shop where the access to this cache was as there were "private" signs everywhere. One of the ladies in the shop insisted to show us the way and escorted us to the info panel. We had to take shelter twice because of a shower but had a short sunny spell at the monument.

Discovered placement of geocache but found nothing inside. Left new paper and pen but sorry not the best paper but was all I had available. Had a wonderful holiday at Matauri Bay camp and the dog and I walked the hill every day.
Found it but not the way I would like to have. Container was rolling around on the wooden deck. No pencil to be found. I hope it's back in its intended position.
On a holiday around Northland. Beautiful place with stunning view. Historical visit for the children given a family involvement in the saga. Gadget M also decided to launch Monkey trackable here. Tftc
Found this cache in a trip to Northland with family during the school holidays. Was a great 2 weeks enjoying the locations & the geocaches of Northland. Greetings from Nelson. Quite an historic location, although 30 year anniversary is coming up for the bombing of the rainbow warrior too. nice container & hide. Find #81

A bit of a slog up the hill with the reward of not only a cache to find but a refreshing swim at the end of it. What a beautiful bay this is. TFTC
Spent some time this morning exploring this area with Mrs agcnz, I haven't been here for around 30 years and much has changed since then. This is one cache we couldn't miss going for, I remember the events very clearly and that is quite a poignant memorial on the hilltop. An easy walk up although it was fairly hot going on a fine calm day in the middle of summer. The cache was a quick find although I had to sneak in behind another person (a French tourist!) to get it - fortunately I was down below him and he didn't spot me. Signed log, TFTC
Found a short while ago while we were camping along the bay. I can remember the event vividly as we were on duty the day after it sank and all the crew of our Rescue Tender came down for a look. Then after it had been raised and patched we spent days manning the pumps to keep her afloat. I was even aboard the crew who sailed her across to Devonport Naval Base and into the Dry Dock. Looked impressive as the water was pumped of the dock to reveal the patched up hole in the side...Thanks for cache here and "Heart Attack" inducing climb...cheers V.
Really great memorial - love it! And the view is also stunning. Found it after reading the hint. Thanks for the cache that took us here:)
A bit of rolling in the grass until the GZ jumped out at me. I don't remember the track being quite that steep.
Wow! What a very cool place to get my 300th find. Am sure this hill is steeper than it was when I last climbed it 25 years ago. LOL! TFTC
Awesome walk to fantastic view of matauri bay and the Cavalli Islands. Quick find. TFTC
Out caching today with my kids and caching buddy GraciesGPSfun. Great views from up here. A good bit of exercise and the cache was an easy find. Thanks for bringing us here
