In Omarama for a caching weekend with BCD. A lovely drive around an area I have never been to before and after visiting the Ahuriri Wetlands it was time to head back with a few P&G's for me while BCD was driving. I never knew what a Cairn was until today and there were many I inspected along the way back to Omarama! Unfortunately this was the only one I DNF.
Lots of piles, but none within 10m of GZ appeared to contain the cache. 1st dnf for today.
Finally, the day has come and I have arrived to New Zealand. This three week long trip has been planned for more than 6 months. First of all, I was going to visit my daughter and her boyfriend, who has been on the islands for almost one year, next was to see as much as possible of both North and South islands. My daughter had done a day to day planning on where to go and what to see. This trip was not planned as a Geocaching trip, but we should definitely search for some caches all over the islands.
Day 20. Cromwell – Mt Cook
A shorter trip from Cromwell to Mt Cook was on the program for today. A few stops was made on this trip. This was one of the caches we found. Logged together with Klövsson and Familjenloov. Tftc

An Easter weekend trip to Queenstown picking up a few caches on the way. Chelzea and I had her brother muggle with us so not as intense cache gather as previous weekends but managed a good number. Thanks to all the CO's for all the placements with some cool locations and placements. Sorry for the Cut and paste logs but will note anything special on the cache page.
Last time I drove through here I was daunted by the many piles - this time I wasn't as faint-hearted.....
Didn't have to dismantle more than one Pile.
Thanks, Bitsprayer.

Took a couple of piles being dismantled and re-stacked to find this one. A clever idea although the container is missing. TFTC
Found this cache on our 4 weeks honeymoon through New Zealand. So many great places to see in this beautiful country.
On the 4th day with our campervan we drove from Mount Cook to Queenstown and stopped several times along Lindis Pass to grab geocaches. Nice one here.
Merry Christmas.

First day of two days trip from Christchurch to Invercargill via Cromwell. Cache 65 of 72 today. This is part of my challenge to find as many 'minutes' for a 400-minute challenge cache, with most caches being straightforward finds. Thanks for the cache.
2nd time lucky fingers crossed for the next with becsicasa, allaboutthatcache and gonna cache em all. Tftc
A tourist stopped to ask what they were. Advised art lol.

Must be a boring edge of the world. Or how are the masses of rock piles along the road to explain?
Thanks and greetings from chomo along the way with ..punkt

Today we drove northeast to Omarama to get away from the rain. That seemed to be a good idea, as we nearly wasn`t bothered by rain at all . We had a great day with many scenic views and found a lot of caches as well .
We found the right pile, and we found the box . Thanks for the cache.

Yes, another cairn, have been wanting to do these for a long time, with a work trip here, today was the day...
Pile had been destroyed and cache was lying close by so signed log and rebuilt a cairn tftc
Haha! Should have expected something like that! A fav point from us . TFTC Bitsprayer.
The hide was not quite what we expected but co-ords were spot on. Found with Aoraki Sheep and Woody104.
A good few piles around, found the right one pretty quick.
Found on a round up in the area with DebsNZ and Aoraki Sheep.

During our wonderful travel from Christchurch to Steward Island we stopped here for a break. Lovely spot for a cache. Many thanks for showing us around. We have been here one year ago and it's always great to come back, such a beautiful place!
We have now left Queenstown. After a short stop in Wanaka in order to do some buskig, we head to omarama to spend the night there. The weather is fine and it is a good opportunity or us to do some caches on the way. We stop at this one, and we find it quickly, fun place.
Thanks for the cache.

Found on my way from Wanaka to Tekapo.
No problems.
Sorry for the late log. This is one of many founds during my four week visit to NZ.
The date here may differ from the one in the log book, both could be a day off from actual log date.

This time we found it straight away. Gave the log an sheet and a raincoat. We wood have done this last time but we couldn't see the wood for the stones. Great hide.
There were a lot of piles...
But after PA passed, none of the piles stayed at the same place : MA had a lot of fun in the camper while PA was turning every rock. 1 thing for sure : no gold at that place!!!!
A bit of rain did not stop her...
After some 15 minutes of laughter in the camper, MA came out and caught the cache in 15 seconds - more laughter was to come!!!
Thanks for this one, Bitsprayer! (btw : notfor me (PA))

We did not find because there were no piles of rocks at the co-ords but after reading others logs we think we may have spotted a pile but were unaware that it was one. Will re-visit.
Very funny, well done. Log sheet is damp but able to be signed. Thanks for the cache.
Plenty of rocks to play with today. Rocks of all sizes, large, small and pebbles. But are they a decoy ?
You can't fool us - the geo-nana especially. The logbook was mushy so I replaced it with a new log. Cheers Bitsprayer - it can have a fav. point because I like how many DNF's there are!!
We thought this was going to be a DNF, after checking the remains of several cairns, but as we were about to depart Mrs W.E.K.A. noticed something unusual, causing Mr W.E.K.A. to recheck something he had previously checked, but apparently not sufficiently thoroughly, and this time the cache was quickly in hand.
