The cache was indeed missing when I checked on it.
I have decided to free up the spot doe someone else to use.

Nope, sadly, just wet shoes and socks for me! The terrain is fair, but for a D1.5 it could be an easier find once down there.
Wouldn't be a trip to Runanga without a DNF here, another for the total - the first logged though
Had a hint, had a hope, had no find.

Auf dem Weg von Hokitika über die Pancake Rocks nach Manpua, haben wir die tollen Aussichten genossen und die Caches am Wegesrand eingesammelt. Danke fürs Legen. Dieses Döschen konnten wir gut finden.
On the way from Hokitika over the Pancake Rocks to Manpua, we enjoyed the great views and collected the caches along the way. Thank you for laying. This jar we could find good

Stayed here for far to long, and couldn't see it then after reading some Logs we got thinking, and took our special tool and spotted it straight away..TFTH
Just about gave up on this one. Went back to car had a read of previous logs got a special tool, went back and there it was. TFTC.
We had what we thought was a good look around but could not find it - we will chat to a previous finder and see if we can figure out what we did wrong (or where we didn't look). We will be back. Thanks Moneydork
We're visiting from Florida, USA. That was great fun but no luck today. Sigh. Thanks for placing the cache.
Find by pnutbeagle and The Marathon Man (on vacation from Ontario, Canada) during our vacation to New Zealand and Australia
Now heading down the West Coast on our way to Milford Sound for a boat cruize

Should really have looked at the terrain rating before attempting. I was deep in vegetation and blackberry briars looking at a steep drop and decided perhaps i shield just find an easier one. Lol
Knowing this is a typical P&G by Moneydork we immediately knew what kind of challenge to expect when arriving at GZ. As we had all equipment in our car, one part of the team quickly changed footwear, took the other needed tool and yes, just a few minutes later, the cache was in our hands and signed. Easy find once you are at GZ!
Alas, no find here. And that was with taking the terrain rating into account!
No success today and coordinates seemed a bit dodgy. Now, noticing the terrain rating, realise that there was more of a challenge to this one than expected.
I had always thought of this place and what it was like. As a 15 year old CMT intake youth, a buddy from here had became a good friend. What time has done to him I will never know.
Karma Reprint and I gave it a quick looksie then read the attributes. Ah ha. Righto. He had the gummies so off he went and success. Cheers
Scratched about looking for this for a few minutes, then the penny dropped. Got the tools out of the car and went cache hunting. I like these types of hides, so a fav from me. Found on a weekend trip to the Coast with Kiwi Moose. Thanks for the hide.
couldn't leave this one behind,
wasn't long before the cache was in our hands.
good fun
thank you for the cache

A quick find in the most obvious place I think Runanga has a tad more to offer than this, but thanks for the welcome
I stopped and had a look at this when I was through here a few months ago and sussed fairly quickly what I had to do to find this cache but unfortunately I wasn't suitably equipped. Came back again this morning and everything "mostly" worked OK (got my feet a bit wetter than hoped) and had the cache in hand quite quickly. All I can say is that if this is the sort of welcome I get coming to Runanga I'm glad that other towns aren't like it! Signed log, TFTC
[blue]Day 5 of our 31 Days of Caching Challenge.[/blue] We had looked at this one previously but were deterred by all the blackberry. We came out here last week and finally clicked but didnt have the proper equipment to reach the cache, plus we need this for one of our August finds. Although it had been raining alot the previous day we decided to attempt this one today in an old pair of shoes I was prepared to get wet. The water was dirty and freezing but the cache was found quickly exactly where we thought it would be. All is well. Thanks for the cache
We looked at the blackberry and other growth at the coordinates and decided not to bother.
There was to much gorse for us so we gave up. Maybe if it gets cleared and we are over that way again.
We needed coffee. The only coffee machine in Runanga was on strike. Stopped in case enlightenment struck. Zeroed at T 1.5. Saw a higher terrain area.. cache or coffee.... coffee won hands down today.
Welcome? Really? Remind to turn down any dinner invites as I'd be worried that I might end up on the menu. Good fun. Thanks.
We are convinced this cache is no longer where the co-ords lead. Seriously needs to be checked out.
Obvously a typical introduction to Runanga caching. Another simple (devious) park and grab. TFTC
It was fairly obvious where this one was going to be, and sure enough, after a short walk it was found Cheers Gav [7365]
After some discussion it looked obvious where the Cache would be. Rediguana was the keenest to get his feet wet. TFTC
Mmmmmmm. What sort of welcome cache has T3.5? That was soon revealed when we 4 geocaching undergraduates (La Vista, Hello Mrs, BaldEd and Rediguana) arrived at GZ. This almost required special equipment! But, hey, we were on a cache raid and a little ..... never hurt anyone, afterall the coasters are used to it. Actually, it did need special equipment and one member ran back to the cachemobile to get it. It soon showed the way and the log book was duely signed. Off now for lunch with a couple of locals in town. The Rugby League grounds were full with fans and TV camera trucks preparing for the Warriers versus the Newcastle Knights game later in the day.
Spent some time here but was starting to spell a bit of onion weed so left of the searching for another day. Would say my effort was 80% but couldn't get up the energy for a full 100%.
Returned with better footwear for the job. And the cache eventually revealed itself. TFTC
Looked a while but didn’t find it.Gave up as it was threatening to rain, and my time here wwas limited.
Coordinates seem a long way out from the Runanga sign. However, having been humiliated by my tour guides into some.. humility, I was finally starting to "get it" and was in the right frame of mind. Easy find after that. Thank goodness I didn't drop anything in the long grass.
#1543 (FTF 60, 1/31 on a day on the Coast). There had been a couple of DNFs, but the FTF still seemed to be up for grabs, so we decided to start our day in Runanga. Mooched around a bit, then Troodles confidently predicted where the cache would be (and delegated the getting to me). We trudged back to the car so I couldget ready, and a local muggle came over to find out what all the sudden interest in the area was about. He was very interesting to talk to. He was still talking to Troodles when I came back with the cache, and when I cam back after replacing the cache. Thanks for a challenging wee cache.
There still hadn't been any finds logged for this cache this morning, so thought it worth a go. After a look, decided that needed some equipment from the car. A neighbour popped out to enquire about the hordes of people he had spotted disappearing down the bank during the past few days. I chatted to him about geocaching, earthquakes and a host of other topics, while StreetWalkerNZ did the dirty, resulting in a pristine log book!
TFTC.

PB & Mr PN both had a good look for this, but none of us planned on getting soggy today, so we'll be back!

We got to the likely spot but were put off by the terrain. We will return again, better prepared.
