Came up to fix a radio and surprise cache at the top. Always a bonus to the radio trips.
I can't tell you how long I wanted to find this cache. My attention was brought to it when I met my partner dalerious, and I was fascinated by the log he wrote for it.He wrote a log so grand, it was an absolute delight. I had not read such words, but I think I might, like to learn to talk in that same light. He is a true master of the verse; he is definitely not terse!I fell in love with this wordsmith, no need to choose A or B, for I have chosen D over C.Thank you Chewinprickles. I ended up doing Mad Dan's Lookout first, funny enough. Only because of the planned burn offs that were happening in this area over the last few weeks.Cache found safe and sound.
Stamped as JAMS - JJ52, alllister w, mogni, sir_spectre. All of these teams are from South Australia and after some major planning we managed to find approx 700 caches while being away for a week. Also qualifiied for a variety of challenges, found LGA's and had lots of laughs. Found while attending the Victorian Mega in Rutherglen.
Thanks
Thanks
The JAMS team (JJ52 allister w, mogni and sir_spectre) were on a road trip heading to the Rutherglen Mega event (staying in Corowa) for 3 days then winding our way home via Albury, Wangaratta, Bendigo and various other places in between. It was a great week with many more caches found than we expected. There were targeted caches, challenge caches, Ad Labs, events and various others to fulfill various statistics for the four of us. We were lucky with the weather, it rained a bit on our way over on Friday, then half a day after we left Wangaratta but on the whole it was great caching weather. We did drive a few slippery muddy roads, but nothing too bad. We also caught up with lots of people either at events or out in the field and enjoyed many great chats. All in all a fun time with lots of Victoria explored and then very tired when I arrived home. [^]
We are now caching around Wangaratta finding caches to meet the A-Z challenge along with a few others.
Thanks for the cache chewinprickles.

Driving around Wangaratta slowly getting all the caches for the A - Z challenge. quick find.
Found with JAMS (( JJ52, Allister w, Mogni, plus sir_spectre ) Mitchell&hound wasn't with us this trip) crew. All logs stamped as JAMS to save log space. This trip we are off to the Rutherglen Mega and then slowly coming back to S.A. for a total of 8 dys and 7 nights. The targets of this trip are for JJ52 to get 11 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and a few more Victorian LGA's, Allister W was targeting 17 virtuals ( or as many as he could get ) a few more Victorian LGA's Mogni to make the Rutherglen Mega her 20, 000 find and also for her to complete all Victoria LGA's, sir_spectre needs 1 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and get his Victoria LGS's down to 2 LGA's left. We got 20 or more finds in a LGA if we stayed in there over night. We also detoured to stamp any challenge caches that we were " in the general area off " and to complete that challenge before we came back to S.A. This meant that some times dirt road (s) had to be walked down because they were to wet to drive down and/or haven't been repaired since last years flooding. We started off the holiday in the rain and then that cleared up only to start raining and a overnight thunder storm but most of the trip was dry. Over 600 caches found for the trip including over 120 lab stages in that total. Got to complete the GPS Maze at the Rutherglen Mega for a 2nd time. Allister w was the team driver for all of the Victorian part of the trip. I think this was the first trip ever to Victoria that the extension pole didn't get used but the 6.2 meter ladder did get a work out.

The JAMS (JJ52, allister w, mogni and sir_spectre) go mega... We came, we cached, we laughed, we hugged and we had a great time. All caches were replaced better than found.

Well that got the cardiovascular workout started for the day. All good here. Now onto the next one for the day. TFTC
Stopped here on the way back down from the summit and made the quick find with Eudes at 1:20pm.
thanks chewinprickles
thanks chewinprickles
We'd inadvertently walked past this one on the way to the summit earlier but given that the group was now well and truly split, we decided that we simply had to find it on the way down. After briefly admiring the view nearby (and *not* taking a photo ), we soon had the stash in hand at 13:20.

Muggle65 and l are ready for a few caches after some tasty bakery comestibles and a hot beverage. It seems unseasonally cold here to us northern folk. Enjoyed the drive out and found the cache in perfect order. Thank you for the fun
Feeling warmly rejuvenated after a coffee & pies we were ready to tackle this cache. It worked as we found the hide reasonably easily and signed the log as required
We are not doing a Zode, though it did start a philosophical conversation about "what if..." Our "what if" was how different would historical decisions be if there were and equal amount of men and women, with equal weight in say. I beautiful walk to chat about such things. Then, wow, what a view, this was worth the hunt. Thanks chewinprickles
Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch. We visited the Warbys for the first time today and headed up the hill to find this one. I needed a cache starting with Z for a couple of challenges and this was the lucky one I chose. It was a bit chilly on the way up, but at least it wasn't raining like yesterday. By the time we were walking down again I was feeling a lot warmer. Took some photos of the view and admired all the wildflowers that are blooming at the moment. TFTC
Wonderful walk, wonderful view. Perfect place for a cache. Looking forward to walking the rest of ridge track. Left a path tag. TFTC.
Thanks Zode, I chose the right road, lovely views, made me in the right in the mode, as logged my code TFTC
Found at 10.45am, unlike Zode we went both right and left and had a great walk. Good views from gz.

Have had my eye on this one for quite a while to complete the north east challenge mystery cache. Had time to check it out before rep soccer this arvo. Pulled up at the locked gate on the ridge track and parked the car. Awesome view when we got to the top! Soo much birdlife on the stroll to gz. Thanks for sharing this beaut location.
Unlike Zode we knew exactly where we were going today , a location that has been on our to do list for a very long time.
Thanks chewinprickles for warning us about 'Zoding" and howjen567 for keeping this oldie alive.

Finally got round to getting to this one. I have driven past this cache many times but never seemed to have the chance to stop. We decided that today's the day as our original plans fell through. It was a nice walk up the bitumen road. The views were pretty awesome too with the bright yellow canola fields glowing in the distance. We reached GZ quickly and signed the log. Replaced as found. Looked around for a bit to admire the view then headed on back down the road.
Very nice spot that I'll be visiting again soon for other reasons. TFTC!

With needing a cache starting with a Z for a challenge cache it seemed toady was going to be the day l would attempt it as l had a day off from work and plenty of time to go for a bush walk to grab a few caches in a place l have never explored before. l set off on foot along the sealed road almost all the way to the gz, no that is what l call a spoilt walk through the bush. The cache was promptly found after a short search and after returning the cache back safe and sound l meet up with a muggle doing his training running through the hills (sicko!) after a brief chat we parted ways and l decided to head to Chick Hill to attempt a couple of hides up there. Thanks chewinprickles for the cache, this one was particularly one, now to attempt a challenge or two!
I can relate to the Zode on that day. The battles of choices to go or to stay. For this wasn't the cache I wanted the most, for the "First to Find" cache, I was pipped at the post. Choice two was a cache for my Fizzy grid. "Mad Dan" was the hide that i needed unhid.
Plan three was a "Z" as it fills in a slot for "North Eastern Challenge" I've near got the lot.
With "Zode in the road" in the road on the way, I found it and signed it and cheered a "Hooray!".
Now this is the bit where my mind had a fight. It faught with it's self for what's wrong and what's right.
For just up the track (about 4 clicks or so) was a lookout that looked like I needed to know. But time had run short, as time often can and I feared for my plan, my "Mad Dan" plan I'd planned.
The time that it took to get me this far, the time that it takes to get back to the car, the time it will take to get all that way, the time that it takes is too long I should stay.
But what if I ran? If I ran to "Mad Dan"? If I ran all the way.....No I don't think I can.
With clouds closing in and light getting less light, with less day in the day and brightness less bright, my mind was made up to not choose just yet. This log needs a photo before I forget.
With my phone in my hand a picture I take and my phone rings a ring and it's sounding irate. It's Cybergran V (my mum) saying "Please".
"I'm back at the car and you've got the keys".

Today I was heading home from Wodonga, having previously attended the Clear Waters mega in Queanbeyan. I targetted a number of caches spread along the highway to break my journey. I wanted to do the walk to Mad Dans Lookout, and given this was on the way, I just had to go for it. No trouble locating the cache.
My thanks for the cache, chewinprickles.
My thanks for the cache, chewinprickles.
Called in for a quick check while heading to Mad Dans lookout. All appears well.
We realised last night that we needed a 'Z' name for a challenge cache and as we are leaving Wangaratta today it was out of bed at sparrow fart to give us time to find the cache. Now that walk up the hill is certainly a heart starter but at the end we found a cache and had a beautiful sunrise with a crisp breeze. SL TFTC
You really are missing out if you don't push on and do Mad Dans lookout!
Thanks for the quick bonus cache with side views.

Day 1 of an epic 5-day roadtrip hiking and 4WDing between the Alpine and Kosciuszko National Parks with Jacko.
In the afternoon we stopped for a 'quick' 10km walk along Mt Glenrowan to Mad Dan's lookout. Young Zode should have just used a GPSr like us - much easier !
And unsurprisingly signal reception was particularly strong around here .
Thanks chewinprickles/howjen567.

I woke up and saw that a new cache had already been published
Hang on, I'm getting a decided case of deja vu here [?] This can't be right as I was only there doing a multi 3 days ago[?]
This one was a much harder decision though as I'd already spent my already borrowed fuel money 3 days ago but since it's now a new month.... well suffice to say I borrowed MORE fuel money Rex and I went out for a drive [^]
My multi cache blues are sadly still alive and well as it took me about 3 workings out to get a decent looking GZ at the 1st cache of the day
After getting the 1st cache find at 10.38am (FTF too ) we then cached on until the last cache find at 10.43pm and arrived home at midnight after finding 10 caches for the day [^] No idea who was the most tired [|)]: Rex or me[?]
Thinking that I may still need a 'Z' cache for the NE alphabet challenge, I made this cache my target rather than doing the rest of the Winton Wetlands caches [^]
A nice walk up and down albeit slowly for me due to dodgy knees and hips
We found the cache just on nightfall and it gradually got darker as we descended.
Loved the views at the top: different on each side

safe park alongside the road. wobbly stile. bit of a hill climb - good for the lungs then thunder and hailstones. Zode story a good chuckle. cache all safe if a little damp. what can one expect in this weather. SL TFTC the views and the laughs.
The sun has got his hat on. After the rain we decided to go for a walk and a drive. Quick find. TFTC
Well I'm the first visitor this year dunno why its a great historical place. Found a plaque on the right at nason's. Foggy today so no views...TFTC
We took our time getting to this one and were rewarded with some great views on this clear afternoon. A quick search at GZ soon revealed the cache and we signed the log and took some photos before wandering back down hill to the car.

Was an awesome morning to view the surrounds and whilst Shadow67 was off snapping pictures I managed to quickly find the cache. Still a team effort because I would not probably walk up there on my own with out punishing someone else ....
Team effort with NenaNine. Easy find for her because I was so busy taking lots of amazing photos of the view this morning.

I drove down the road
To look for the Zode
But drove the wrong track
So had to turn back
Now at the start
To,exercise the heart
But once at the top
Time to stop
Viewed Mt Buffalo
All covered in snow
Back down the road
And a smile from Zode

On a mini caching run for the day to finish of a local challenge but mostly to get a rare Q letter animal for a challenge in Toowomba Queensland.
Nice pleasant walk up the yellow brick road and an quick easy find today, nice view. I will have to schedule another trip to visit a couple more caches down the track when I have more time.

#4608 We've read and owned many Dr Seuss books but have never come upon the Zode story before - as always quite amusing. There was no similarity to Dad and Zode today though as Dad had a course plotted to the cache and there was no deviation from that path (and so saved his pants ). It looks like in days gone by that there was a popular camping area - today great views of a setting sun and the twinkly lights of Wangaratta. Our thanks to chewinprickles for the cache and the fun. Cheers [^]
Geodad went up to grab this one in the rain! He had a few slips and slides and came back drenched by happy that he got it!! TFTC Chewinprickles
It wasn't as bad as previous cachers have logged,I've had worse.
I didn't see any views as the clouds were low.
I will be back to do the others along the track another day

I don’t know if this is Place One or Place Two but it is somewhat of a climb to take in the view. As you start up the path they have cleverly made you will notice with each step an increase in the grade. Now the views to the right may give you some pep but the legs become sorer with each laboured step and by now we are thinking that we should nearly be there but it is still getting steeper, this is really not fare. The meters count, energy levels plummet and we make one final push to reach ground zero at the summit but no matter the pain there’s a cache to be had, if it turns DNF I’ll be really quit sad. So we search all the places we think a cache could be stored and a cache in hand is our hard earned reward, but to sign the log I must first find a seat, I have not the energy to remain on my feet. Sitting happily now on the trunk of a tree, a view so good I think I may spot the sea. I remember young Zode and his sad tale of woe. I’m so glad I decided to give it a go.

After u find this one. Take a minute or thirty to take in the sites. You will need it!
Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So. . . get on your way
So I did, unlike the Zode who couldn't make up its mind
At the top of my mountain I found me a cache
And from here I could get a really good view of the menacing looking storm that was hovering around just to the south
It was moving in a freindly direction, but I was sure that it would be dragging rain behind it.
Should I continue my walk along the ridge or not ?
Now I was starting to sound like the Zode [:o]
I made up my mind and headed off along the ridge to get rained on

# 2848. Making a concerted attack on some Warby Range caches today, riding and walking with Robmc. Well, what can I say about this one and the next? Rob led me a merry dance saying the riding was on a ridge and would probably be fairly flat. Riiiiight! By the time we got to the Zode I was exhausted. Enjoyed the views as we approached GZ - a nice easy find here, and this is where I should have called it QUITS for the day! TNLN TFTC chewinprickles.
Mr X is training at Bennalla and I have time to check out some caches nearby. Having just spent a weekend in Bennalla not long ago I had to go further afield this time. Having enjoyed the history in this part of the land I thought a walk was called for. Parked the car opposite and then I took to the track. There was already one car here so I thought I maybe in luck to meet up with a kindered spirit. Loved the walk up but it was not the day for a view at all as the clouds had come right in. I did not come across anyone at all.
Nice easy find. Thanks for bringing me here chewinprickles
