It is very high on my "bucket list" items of spotting a platypus in the wild. I have seen them at the zoo etc, but given the time of day of this hunt (midday) and the many cachers/CITO/tree planter along the creek bank, I doubt today will be the day that I spot one. Alas, I was right. But what we did find was a well hidden cache. Thanks to bogonghazy for placing and keeping this one going for this amount of time. Cache on
Found after the CITO today.A nice way to wind down and relax after some solid planting and a wholesome feed.I have only ever spotted one platypus in the wild, and that wasn't here.
Despite Astros insistance that he knew a shorter way, we parked at the end of the path and made our way in along the river. No platypus were spotted but it was a pleasant stroll and an easy find at GZ. Thanks for bringing us here
I was going to say a nice stroll. But made my way down the cliff. Tranquility at the bottom. Found on the Mega Capital Geobash coastal loop via Adelaide - Barrington - coast to Mexico City loop. A lot of caches and white line fever was sweated out. Thanks bogonghazy and clear skies from TeamAstro. Cache the planet! Some logs signed as TAD as teamed up with Tenkae and Deanside for additional fun. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
after a second attempt and finally getting to the correct side we have found it, signed the log book and replaced as found, TFTC!
A day in Bacchus Marsh was planned. With cold drinks, sandwiches and fruit in the car fridge we set off for an adventure in the town we have visited many times since first caching back in 13.Took us awhile to get to gz but after working out the shortest way we set off for a wander along the river. Thanks bogonghazy for the placement.
Lovely, interesting walk and nice river. After the recent rain the water is high and brown with no sign of platypus this evening. Good cache, thanks bogonghazy
Awesome track! Visiting from Tasmania and exploring the area, beautiful introduction. Thanks
Helpful hint. A long steep haul from above. I recommend the trail on the north side of the river: David
Thanks this took a little reach to find!! So awesome for our first geocaching and local too
Found with McAdies and Jelly_bean14.I enjoyed finding this cache today. Thanks for the hide, I am catching up on some late logging.
Found with McAdies and Geo_Eddie.I had a nice time finding this geocache. Thanks for hiding it for us to find, i am catching up on late logging.
We were quite literally here earlier in the day when we attended the CITO to help replant some of the embankments. No idea why we didn't think to look if there were any caches nearby then. We returned on the scooters, made the find and were lucky that the weather was still being kind. Thanks for the cache.
Found after the CITO. Glad someone reminded me as I probably would have had to come back. No platypus today. Tftc
The finding of this cache was a story of epic proportions.
It began on a lovely day two years or more ago, when SueHut and I came up to do a clutch of Bacchus Marsh caches. We approached this one straight after another found on the Werribee River, only to discover we were on the wrong side. Promising to get to it later... we didn't.
Late last year, there was an event in Maddingley. I came up early to get some AdLabs and this cache. I was a mere twenty metres from it when got a call, summoning me home immediately for a "matter of importance". No event, very few AdLabs, and no cache.
This Sunday, I came up for the tree-planting CITO. What was cool about this CITO? It set up *right next to this cache*. I didn't even need to hunt for it - there was a line of cachers waiting their turn to sign. Of course, SueHut still hasn't seen it.
Thanks heaps, bogonghazy!

Our planting endeavour this morning was quite convenient to this cache, so it's have been silly not to visit.
And visit we did. Many of us. Cachers and non cachers that had kids were quite interested... you never know, we might have introduced some new seekers to our hobby.
Thanks, bogonghazy.
I visited twice, the second time with someone that hasn't realised this cache was so close.

Out with the group attending the CITO and the last to do before we left the area was to find this cache. No issues with a few of us there and we soon all had our names in the nice new logbook.
Thanks bogonghazy....cache all good.
Thanks bogonghazy....cache all good.
Headed out west with Geoturtle37 to attend a cito and to do a bit of scooter caching. The day started with black clouds and heavy rain en route, but soon turned into sunshine, albeit a tad chilly.
We realised that we had forgotten to find this cache while we were planting trees. So we returned this afternoon to put a smiley here.
Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, bogonghazy

Following the nearby CITO today, we wandered over to make this find. No platypus today but they would have been hiding from all the noise.
Thanks for placing the cache bogonghazy.

### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED PLEASE** ###
----------
Hi there bogonghazy,
It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is an issue. The cache has been temporarily disabled, so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location until the issues/s with this cache can be addressed.
**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days, so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.**
#What should you do now:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-
- **Check On The Cache:-** Visit the cache and repair and/or replace or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ). Then sit back and wait for the logs of praise to roll in.
- **Place A Write Note Log::-** Reviewers are not mind readers (unfortunately), so without your note on the cache page explaining that the site works are on-going, you have been in hospital, the area is in flood, or some other reason that has prevented attending to the cache, they can't tell what is going on.
So please just post a note to the page (within 14 days) and when a Reviewer next looks at the listing, all will be fine for a little bit longer.
**Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. If you have a long term unavailable cache (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 4 to 6 weeks, so as to keep everyone up to speed.**
- **Adopt/Archive:-** If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56), so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.
You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when a Reviewer next looks at the cache page, it is likely that they will, unfortunately, have to de-list (Archive) on the basis that it has been abandoned.
Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.
**JUST A TIP:-** Have you checked out the Geocaching Dash Board designed to assist a Cache Owner in managing the caches they own? Have a read about it [**HERE.**](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2020/07/welcome-to-the-cache-owner-dashboard/?newsletter=PM) You will find your very own dash board [**HERE**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/owner?utm_source=geocaching&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=COD).

Two days to go in Australia. Why not try to spot another platypus?
The box had water in it.
The box had water in it.
Lovely walk and good to find this cache. The cache was filled with water so drained it out and put new paper in as the logs were drenched.
Beautiful day in Bacchus Marsh due to play tree planning day and thought we go and do a bit of more exploring
It's was wet cold day, rain started to fall.i pushed on to found this small container. My wife was so proud of my achievement.
Thank you all until next time.
Thank you all until next time.
Nice! Found the cache out in the open and cleared out some rubbish otherwise cache is in great condition!
Since the winds the path is a bit tricky (and overgrown atm) but found it!
Look for blue!
Look for blue!
Out with the daughter and granddaughter, think she's finally agreed this is fun as her first question was...do you have a pen ha ha. Gosh the river is up...lovely walk along here
Nice little cache in a beautiful spot. Took a walk along the river after work, and found a new place to chill by the river! Thanks!
Beautiful walk! Never wouldve come here if it wasn't for that geochache! Came here to help my cousin grab a TB. Tftc!

After finding the catch I just sat on a rock an enjoy the view on such a lovely peaceful day.

Thank you. We walk the track 3 times a week, taking photos of birds. Sometimes I remember about this but usually too late. Nothing taken and nothing left this time. But will bring fresh zip bag next time I remember. Time for me to think about a placement too
