Came out specifically for this cache but access is blocked by fences for the sake of conservation. Might come back another time and hope the fences are gone
After a full day of treasure finding with 37 straight finds in this area, the previous one up the hill with a DNF, and now this one is a DNF. Time to call it a day and head home.
Fence & locked gates now impede access TFTC - Boxing Day cache binge #12 find for the day
#4327 A day out down south so we could take the geohounds to the dog beach at Altona for some fun. We also met up with Kokowon who we haven't seen since Christmas due to the lockdown. After lunch we then all tackled a bunch of caches in this Reserve on foot.
Our last find for the day as we need to head back home to north east vic. A super cool find to end our fun day out on. Mr BGF was the one to extract this creative and clever construction. Well done and TFTC tackle_head, a fave from us.

Spiffy- and I planned a cache day Sunday but the target area was a little undecided. Mainly because rain was coming. Finally we settled on Altona and the large trad trail. So we loaded the stealth bikes in and headed off. Driving there rain was falling, but it was only 10am and it was due at 3pm. Parked at the skate park and still a few spots of rain but so warm so we headed off. A few caches in I went back to my for rain jackets which I wore for only a few minutes then carried. Ironically arrived home sunburnt.
All caches were eventually found and the CO effort on these was great. We appreciated the work and the effort to place them.
Should have found this much faster!
Thanks to tackle_head for the placement and fun.

Found it easily, then thought it wasnt a cache and put it back and then realised it was actually the cache...one of those days i think lol tftc!
First cache for the day and I started off by finding a particularly slippery patch of mud, skidding inelegantly and falling over onto my hands and knees. Surprised my geocaching buddies did not roar with laughter - I certainly would have had it been one of them! Thankfully the cache was easily found and we were on our way. One of us slightly muddier. TFTC!
Found mid March but due to virus lockdown did not log, thanks for this well hidden cache tackle-head, no fishing then either
Sorry for delayed log but tftf out with geodad and geokid on gorgeous walk around the area to stretch the legs on a day of freedom
Woke! A fav point from me for the unique container. Beautiful day today! SL TFTC
This one was so far one of the most fun caches we have found for myself (Jess) somehow I knew where it was but the cache itself is so clever!!!!
What an awesome hide. This one made us smile. Geohubby said "some people are ingenious ". TFTC
In all are travels we would not have even thought to traveled to this location.
(Ha Ha). In your dreams, these cachers do.

Annoying Tarbit and I had decided to have a caching day in and around Werribee today. It's not an area I have cached in, so there were plenty of caches to look for on our route around. When we started it was relatively mild and you could see the city from our first caching spot. By the end it was very hot and the smoke haze made it difficult to see much around. We found ~60 and had just the one DNF today.
For some reason I had the D/T around the wrong way so I was looking at anything that might be a higher T. A bit of a rookie mistake. Luckily for me AT was on the ball and pretty quickly found the very well hidden cache. Very nicely done here and worth of a FP from me. TFTC tackle_head!

Keeping with recent tradition a holiday caching day was planned with Lost_and_found_79 a few days into the New Year. This time we chose to head out west and try caches in Altona and Werribee that we hadn't found before. It turned out to be a fun day with pleasant weather and just a slight smoke haze from the bushfires affecting visibility later. I found 58 new caches for the day including clocking over my 7,000th find. We moved the car along from the previous area and parked near hereto tackle those on this side of the creek. This was very nicely camouflaged and I was pleased to spot it quickly. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and all your placements in this area tackle_head. A very nice construction job here. This one earns a favourite point from me.
Stopped in for fish and chips after a caching afternoon and dropped in to get this one as cache #649. Great hide
Awesome container! A favourite point for the work in creating it. Classy cacher was clever to spot this after I discarded it not realising it was the cache!
Going for a big score today :3 want to get closer to my 1k milestone so this awesome series will help me smash it out!!
Congratz to merkin of loki for thus being her 550th find!!!!

After attending the Wattle Event this morning, I caught up with Micaparamedic, xsurfergirlx and Geoturtle37 and we spent the morning caching throughout this area. We managed to find all the caches we searched for. We came across a homeless man as we approached this one. Not sure who got the biggest fright, him or us. It was a good day with great company and some interesting caches. This one definitely gets a favourite. Thanks for helping make our day so enjoyable.
Caching with papi4506, Micaparamedic and xsurgergirlx today around this area. All caches that we looked for we found. We also managed to find a homeless man in the bushes only a couple of metres from one of the caches. Not sure who frightened whom the most. Had a great day and got a few caches before the sky sprung a massive leak. Luckily, we had been back in the car for about two minutes when the heavens opened. Still, we all seemed to have a great day. Thanks for the effort of placing and maintaining these caches for us to find.
We decided on a caching look around the Altona area with ilook4geo on another blustery windy day. All the caches we listed for the day were found, each log was signed as we held on to it tightly, each log was then replaced just where it had been found. No problems. Loved the camo on this one. Thanks go to tackle_head for placing this cache, which was one of the caches that brought us to this area for the first time.
Had a good caching day out with goingplaces2 today. Happily, quite a few smileys were added to the map for our efforts. Caches were found, logs were signed, all were put back. Job done. Time to go on our way again. TFTC.
Our mission this week is to complete the Mystery at the Museum challenge. We chose the HD Reserve, Truganina Park and the wetlands to find the required caches to get the stolen jewels back into the vault.
This was a quick find but couldn’t get the stop out to sign the log. So we logged the find on some of our own paper and inserted it into the well constructed cache. TFTC

This was a clever little hide which I enjoyed. Thankfully it did not take long to locate and I was soon on my way again

Find #3572**
**Traditional Cache Find #2431**
The day dawned fine but overcast and cool. Steve and I headed over to the other side of the bay to attend an event and to try and finish the Mystery at the Museum promotion.
We now started searching and finding the caches in the wetlands proper. Good co-ords, a consistent hiding style and the occasional use of the supplied hint made for an enjoyable experience.

Out enjoying the winter sun and hunting some clues for the museum souvenirs. Many thanks for a great stash of caches around here. Didn't get them all so we will be back. This one is a well crafted hide in a great spot a FP from us. Thanks again.
Great idea but mangled the logbook in the process of retrieving it.. needs to be replaced
A great cache, you must have put a bit of work into this one, amaali and I are back on the ball after the last one. Thanks again. A fave from me.

Greytiger and I were impressed with this well constructed cache. Log was signed and it gets a fave from me. TFTC.
Today we thought we would head to Altona to once again tackle some tackle_head caches that we have been enjoying lately.
We grabbed our caching bags and headed to the car… but it was raining.
MMM change of plans - let's head to Northlands for some haircuts. After lunch and feeling restless, we decided to head out despite the weather.
Arriving, at the Altona Sports car park we got out to be hit with bone chilling winds and then the rain came down! Oh no, another change of plans. Let’s do some drive, park and go caching.
We headed down to Doug Grant Reserve and while still cold it had already stopped raining. So off we went to do just one, and well who can stop at one…we ended up walking the loop round Truganina Explosives Reserve and the weather fined up nicely!
Lovely spot here and believe it or not we have never stopped here before.
This was a very well constructed hide! Loved it and a favourite from us.
Thanks for the caches tackle_head we had a great time again.

Our focus today was to look for recently released caches in the Truganina area and adjacent reserves in Altona. As we walked around we came to appreciate the extensive rehabilitation and development work that has occurred to create a wonderful public space. If the number of people in the area is an indicator, the locals certainly value this great community asset.
All of the caches we found today were characterised by good hides with well designed cache containers and very accurate coordinates.
This was a very good hide which took a few minutes to find. It earns a favourite from us. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks tackle_head for this cache and a wonderful series. We had a great day.

Big night hike with Gunks tonight. Looked to clean up a nice area of new-ish caches. Found a bunch of them but then just as we were almost back at the car more were released. Unfortunately no time so we'll be back. Found this one though. TFTC
I was out this morning chasing some points for the 'Creation' souvenir campaign. Sometimes these souvenir campaigns can be pointless (excuse the pun) like the 'social cacher' one that could be earned without attending any events. But this one actually got me out to target some great caches on my own doorstep, and resulted in me finding a very good cache found. Result! Some points for me and some points for the CO here.
I looked for this one this morning before parkrun but came up empty-handed. Even reading the logs wasn't helping. Then I returned after parkrun, and maybe being a little tired helped as I had success the second time around. My initial approach didn't work - it looked like a D5 - but as soon as I changed my angle of approach I went straight to it.
Thanks, tackle_head - these are the type of caches that appeal to me so an obvious FP.

Well the pressure was on to complete all the cache carnival souvenirs which I had been working hard at but not picking any highly favourited ones so was still a long way off my 500 point target. I only had today and tomorrow and the weather seemed pretty good so I went for a long drive around the city with a few high favourite caches picked out. I was successful in my quest so at least I can relax tomorrow.
This took me a couple of minutes. I even touched the cache when I arrived and muggles came and I moved behind the bushes so got distracted. A couple of minutes later with no joy I returned to where I first started checking and there it was. Awesome cache...a favourite from me.
Thanks tackle_head for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Accompanied with kangas11 we had a great time finding your cache tackle_head, thank you so much for placing it.
Caching day with crank1 in Altona for the day. Nice beach, the parks and trails to walk around. Good one!! Fav for me. Thanks tackle_head for placing this cache
A fantastic and creative hide, using the surroundings to their full! I've found a couple of tackle head caches now, so I new the camo would be amazing. I soon had it in hand, and was glad i had a makeshift tool. Thanks!
Note to self: Grab extraction equipment when leaving car for walks of 50m or more. A reasonably easy find but a little tricky to sign.
Thanks
Thanks
Nice little creation here. We appreciate the high number of likes for our cache challenge. TFTC TAD
I had met up with geo_jas at an earlier cache. We were lucky to have clapped eyes on the hide as soon as we arrived at GZ. Thanks tackle_head.

Out finding high favourited caches and after meeting McLookers at the last cache we both headed across here. McLookers made a quick find while I was still glancing around.
Thanks tackle_head for the cache.

On my way to Ballarat for a meeting tonight. I've got an ADO so decided to cache along the way and selected caches with favorite points for the trip.
Today is the perfect day to be finding these. Not a soul in the area. A great idea, well executed. Tftc

This cache had me hunting around for a while. These Tacklehead caches are always very inventive and this one did not let me down. Very clever camo and placement.
Out for a ln after dinner walk along the sea. Stopped and found this cache along the way. A great little hiding spot. TFTC
TFTC, nice hide, i fished this part of the bay many years ago & remember catching a banjo shark which i released after a good fight.
Heading into the mega we picked a few targets with this being one.
We left the path and also the muggles and was fortunate to make a quick find on this excellent bit of camo. We completed the signing duties and re hid.
