I dont recall exactly but it must be about 4 months ago at an event when OZGrumpy, Jlly and I had a chat about riding the Reisling and Rattler Trails for caches.Today is the day and as the weather gods would have it, its going to be a 35deg day Cache quickly found and log stamped TFTC
Thanks Frozen Feet for placing this cache and for the ongoing maintenance. Find #10663 on 2/11/2024 at 10:18AMA plan was hatched to ride along the Riesling Trail and collect a few caches. A delightful day in the company of Cheezel and Jolly riding along and signing logs. This is a special place, very enjoyable. We also collected some others that were nearby or along the way.
Today I left home reasonably early, with my bike on the ute, to meet up with Chezle and OZGrumpy in Riverton. We left my ute in Riverton, threw my bike on Chezles chariot and headed to Clare.A big day on our bikes riding both The Riesling Trail and The Rattler Trail to find caches while enjoying some country fresh air, a bit of sunshine, get some exercise and find a couple of DNFs of mine from a previous visit. All up a fun day, even if Im going to be a bit saddle sore tomorrow TFTC Frozen FeetKeep smiling
We are travelling with Pprass and have set up in Blyth where we will camp for a few days.Today we jumped on the bikes to do bits of the bike trails. Sadly we lost Mr Morris along the way when his bike suffered a catastrophic failure. Thanks for the trail Frozen Feet
As Easter approaches with plans to head to Capital GeoBash in Canberra - I am striving towards a very unachievable milestone. As such at every opportunity, Im am tackling powertrails or cache clusters. Currently staying in Adelaide, but had a free day up my sleeve and a babysitter available in Clare - I saw and opportunity & took it. I hired an e-bike from Reisling Trail Bike Hire who were fabulous to work with. The e-bike made easy work of the hills as I travelled along the trail collecting smileys. Additionally, today is the day I achieve my longest streak (albeit short one) & Im hoping to continue it until Easter. Thanks for the cache and maintenance.
Our final short walk along the Riesling Trail to grab any caches we passed by.That completes our walks from Riverton to north of Clare at Barinia. Many thanks for the hide Frozen Feet
Found it with my grandma. It was 1 min to find and it was so easy. Took out a c3-p-o head and put a $2 coin for the next kid. Thanks
I was in Clare for a few days primarily to finally complete the Riesling Trail. I'd done some by walking but this trip was to clean it up.Who knew it was that hilly on the trail (I do now). Took me about 5 hours on a hot day before I gave up and went back to the caravan park for a rest.I finished what I set out to do later in the afternoon with a bit of walking. TFTC
Took the mobility scooter for a run today after it’s been laying idle for a while. Done between Sevenhill and Clare and the caches found were in good condition, unless mentioned in the log. TFTC
On the trail again. Thanks Frozen Feet. It is that kind of weather at the moment if you are out early.
A stunning day riding on the Riesling Trail - have ~60km under pedal with Clare-Auburn return with detour to a brewery to the east as well. Decided to only cache on run home with key picks to maintain goodwill of my non-geo companions. Battery just on less than 20% charge now but throwing the dice with max assist…
Quick find of the rock cave in the tree breezeway section of the Riesling Trail - TFTC Frozen Feet!

Walking from Clare to Sevenhills and return, along the Riesling Trail. Log book full.
A quick stroll from the winery, log book was full but found a gap in the middle somewhere to sign.
Day eleven of our short South Australian trip with BettyBoo3747 and the geo-doggies.
A mild to chilly day in Clare. We unloaded the deadly treadlies and hit the bike trails riding north to Barinia. Back to Clare for some lunch then back to base.
Our first for the day. Felt we probably shouldn't visit the winery so early in the ride, so we signed the cache and continued on.
Thanks, Robmc.

#19106. Day 11. of our Vic/SA trip with Robmc the geodogs and our bicycles. A supposedly rain-free day forecast and even some sunshine so we got the bicycles sorted, loaded the doggies into their tag-along and headed north up the trail to Barinia. Gale force winds accompanied us in the open farmland areas. We managed a 25km ride and 38 finds. 3 DNF's too, but that is the way it goes sometimes. Did so enjoy getting on the bikes and riding some of this fantastic Riesling Trail.
We cut through the showgrounds to start the ride - this was our first stop for the day and what a gorgeous part of the trail it is. Names added to the log and we continued on.
Thanks Frozen Feet

Another JLWE has come to an end, it all has happened far to quickly. There has been lots of social happenings and caches found. Laughter, so much laughter, Shared meals and nibbiles on the tables. We cannot waith for the next one to happen. SL TFTC
Staying in Clare for the JLW caching event, picking up as many caches around the surrounding areas as we can. This cache is one that was found today.
With some daylight left, decided to go for a spin on the bike along the Riesling Trail to find some unfound caches. By the end it was dark which thankfully kept the muggles away bar one. Started at Ne 29 and rode back to the showgrounds. Overall 38 found in 1.25hrs.
Find #4214 on 12 Jun 2022.

The JAMS team (JJ52, allister w, mogni, sir_spectre) along with tallbikestan left home early to head up to Clare for the June Long Weekend and of course we didn't go straight there. We had a few detours along the way which made for an interesting day travelling around stopping at Truro, Eudunda, Worlds End, Burra and Mintaro with the occasional cache in between.
Day 2 and we left our accommodation early to find a few caches before heading to the showgrounds. Then collected our hides and we were off again. [^]
A quick find not far from our accommodation.
Thanks for the cache Frozen Feet.

Having woken to a cool morning the JAMS team ventured out to start collecting smilies. We found a range of caches throughout the day, so thanks for placing them for us to find.
quick find
The JAMS team (( JJ52, Allister W, Mogni, and sir_spectre ) plus TallBikeStan for this trip ) are headed off to the 20 th JuneLongWeekend Event in Clare. As you would expect extension poles, blow up kayaks, waders and ladders are in the car. I am sure every one else takes 11 hours to reach Clare from Adelaide, i am also sure via Burra is the logical to Clare . There was many photos taken of the fun times we had, even involving a ladder in the creek and of course many dirt roads ventured down. All caches for the weekend where stamped as JAMS and some more caches where placed on our travels. The missing JAMS member Michells&hound joined us in our B&B in Clare but didn't join with us for the JLWE game. The weather slowly got better over the weekend. It's good to see some gadget and creative caches around Clare that are permeant and not temp game caches.

With muggle bikers just ahead a quick find, sign and replace was in order. This was done in record time and I was on my way before they got to me.
Good hide, I needn’t have been a mountain goat though!!!
Good fun though!

A nice walk along the trail to this one the cache was easily found and is all good
A big trip away to the yorke peninsula planned for the weekend travelling around touristing and have a look at sights I’ve seen before, plus camping over the 4 days wherever we needed up at the end of the day. Plus why not find 116 caches along the way for the trip. Despite the wind on the first evening the rest of the trip we were delighted by the beautiful weather.
Thanks for the cache

After scoring a FTF at Koolunga headed to Clare to get some more done of the railtrail caches. Managed to finish the N.E.series but at sunset was still 13 short of finishing the RT series.
Thanks to Frozen Feet for putting out this cache for me to find

Away on a tour of the SA wine regions, starting with this one. And it’s a beauty.
Finally found five minutes free from the others in the group to sneak off and track down this cleverly hidden cache.

I found this while riding from Clare to Sevenhill with my mum along the Riesling Trail.
T’was a gorgeous, sunny Autumn day. The gentlest of breezes. And we are on holiday!!! Making hay while the sun shines, as they say!
Thanks for this wonderful series of caches.
Unfortunately, We had not planned this very well. We did all the Caches going downhill. Which kinda breaks your momentum of the downhill thrill!
Would recommend doing it finding the Caches going uphill. That way you get a rest between the strenuous uphill times.
Thanks to Frozen Feet for putting this series together. All caches were in good condition and easy to find.

Thanks for the hint. Fun on my Ebike. Logbook is almost full. Signed the back cover! Tftc, tnln.
After a really nice wine tasting at Shut the Gate we did 3 of the rail trail at this rate it will take us another 10 years to finish the trail. Rex in particular enjoyed the walk.
Then into Clare for a pint and to pick up our curry. We love Clare it’s fab. TFTC

Had a great day cycling up and down the Riesling Trail, though my legs and hind quarters have a different opinion! Grabbed loads of caches and had a lovely pit stop at the beautiful Crabtree winery in Watervale (no food, but very tasty Riesling!). TFTC
This weekend, jesswrigley and I headed to the Clare Valley for a bit of wine tasting and cycling the Riesling Trail. We were treated to great sunny weather, and nice to have been visiting the wine region.
Today, jesswrigley and I started the day with a geocaching event breakfast and a few geocaches around the town of Clare. We then proceeded south riding our bikes along the Riesling Trail. We made a few uphill detours either side of the valley to *Pallet Wines* and *Jeanneret Wines and Clare Valley Brewing Co* respectively, which certainly tired us out. A final stop at *Tim Adams Wines*, before completing the northern section of the Riesling Trail towards Barinia.
Another geocache find along the Riesling Trail today. This was a nice spot. We managed to find this cache after a short search, and the cache container was in good shape, but the logbook is getting very full, hence needing a replacement soon. Thanks Frozen Feet for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

After leaving one lot of friends to spend time with their family...I joined another lot of friends...we stayed in the Caravan Park overnight...
In the late afternoon jafaz62, the_xtrailers (Sharyn) & I decided to take the doggos for a walk along the Reisling Trail...we did only 4 as the sun was setting as we returned back to our camp...

With the hint this tricky well hidden cache was found. Still, it was no pushover as i was looking for well over 5 minutes and having previously DNF'd the cache just south of this one, i wasn't giving up till it was found

This one took a little while, most because the GPS wasn’t cooperating. Put the phone away, widened the search area and bingo - there it was. Tftc
Found at 4:30 PM GAFF1.
After setting up our van at the nearby Discovery CP, I got my bike out and headed off to do some of the nearby caches. Such a change from what we had been through earlier today with dust clouds and massive wind gusts.
We like TA wines - today we tried Regg &Co. but his riesling was a bit short on the finish.
Thanks Frozen Feet

Second and unfortunately our last day in the Clare Region. Decided to bike the Reisling Trail. Was a reasonably cool start but was warmin up at our turn around point. GPS was a bit wayward today had me climbing the wrong side of the track, but we stuck with it and a day of smilies. Heading back to the Caravan for a shower and a cool non alcoholic drink

Today we hired a couple of bikes in Clare and biked down the Riesling Trail to Auburn, our aim was to collect all the caches we hadn't managed to walk to in the last couple of days. Mission was almost successful, with everything found that we looked for, just one close to Clare that we ran out of time for.
Almost done. tftc

Found it right on coordinates.....sampled a beautiful old tawny port nearby as a reward!
Two Norwegian travellers on vacation/geocaching in Australia. Travelling by car from Brisbane to Adelaide with stops in interesting and not so interesting places. Started with the Sunshine Coast to warm us up and since then when travelling to the south and west the weather have not been so good as we hoped. Lots of wind and rain with only a few sunny days in between. Came to Clare yesterday in sunny weather. Today we rented bicycles and did parts of the Riesling Trail with wine tasting and Geocaching.
First one today

Mrs iluvtrekking and I dropped our geo-men off in Riverton to undertake the 44 klm cycle ride back to Clare. They spent 9 hours to complete the trail with a couple of dnf's along the way but marvelled at the scenery and had an awesome day. Thanks Frozen Feet
After dropping the GeoHubbies off in Richmond they peddled off into the morning mist. 9 hours and 40ks later they emerged in Clare sore but triumphant. Thanks to all concerned in placing this epic series of caches.
