Happened to be staying a hundred metres from here so I thought I'd take a peek. The cache is exactly where I left it a week or two back.
Perhaps it's not where ST37E left it, but it's perfectly ok.
Cheers.

Checked this one on a maintenance run and unfortunately it seems this one has been muggled
Found whilst waiting for the RACV to replace our car battery.
Looks like it went missing soon after we found it. Seemed safe enough.

I happened to be in Ballarat this afternoon as yesterday my brother in law had an operation on his sinus at a hospital in Geelong.
I travelled down there by train from Melbourne to collect him and drive his car back to Ballarat where he lives.
After taking him home and making sure he was okay, I cached my way back to Ballarat Station to catch a train (that turned out to be a coach) back to Melbourne. This was one of the caches I found on my walk to the station.
This cache is very easy to retrieve, and muggles and traffic just aren't an issue if you just let your arm innocently fall across it as you cross the road. It's easy to spot.
These caches fill up the logs very quickly and this log is so puny that it will be full very quickly.
There is a bit of space still left. I'm wondering if someone tore the bottom of it to make it fiot more easily because there's not much to it.
Thanks for the cache.

A nice quick find on our way to dinner last night - definitely easier at night time!
Sneaky hide. Luckily it is easily spotted when approaching. Grabbed, then took away to sign. Just as I was going to put it back some guy shouted from the other side of the street to one of his friends way down the street which made everyone else in the area turn around.

Hey guys, I have seen the maintenance logs, but I have been out of action for a while, hopefully I can replace the log in this one soon
After being in Ballarat two weeks ago it was back today with the suscoe team to add a few more smiley's to my tally. Our aim was to find a few mysteries and others as we passed by.
After lunch this guy was next on the list and was a quick grab and kept on walking and then signed the log in a spot that was vacant. Thanks to ST37E for the cache.

One of 184 cache finds during our "Ballarat Smackdown" weekend of caching on the 23rd to 25th. There were 13 of us including Blacklegend and three of his kids, Trailrunning, Haveanez and their two boys, Dazrascal and myself amd my two boys Tyler and Cooper. We'd spent a few weeks planning the trip, with every Ballarat Puzzle solved in the area, cache lists and road and route maps all ready to go. We stayed in the Miners Retreat Motel for the two nights and the accomodation and facilities were great. Our goal was simple - find as many caches as possible in the time we were here !
We found a great variety of caches and hides during the three days, which also involved a bit of walking and some 4WD fun as well in the state forests north of Ballarat. The weather was quite cold of the Friday and Saturday morning but eventually cleared to nice sunny weather Saturday arvo and Sunday. We all had a great time, especially the kids who did really well to keep up with the pace we were moving.
Another ST37E cache found tonight. A nice easy find at night, even though there was till a little bit of traffic about. TFTC.

Night 1 of our Ballarat Smackdown weekend with DazRascal, Blacklegend, Quasar3671 & Trailrunning which seen us collecting a great range of caches over 3 days.
Dont think we will ever get sick of admiring what the main CBD of Ballarat has to offer! Some beautiful sites!
Enjoyed the hunt for the cache which was located after a brief search and in between passing muggles. Many thanks for bringing us here. TNLN SL. Cheers.

One of 182 caches I personally found during our "Ballarat Smackdown" trip. The trip included teams Quasar3671, Trailrunning, Haveanez, Dazrascal and myself. Caches included around 30 mystery caches, a few earth caches, lots of trads and multis and both day and night caching. Some 4WD action was encountered as well, which was great. All puzzles within 60kms were solved.
I took three of my kids, Jasmine 7yo, James and Jemma 5yo twins, traveling from Tocumwal. The trip covered 3 days and two nights, staying in Ballarat. Quasar3671 took his two boys as did Haveanez. One of the best caching trips I have been on, and certainly lots and lots of finds, almost clearing out the main Ballarat area. Home base was the Miners Retreat motel, which was quite pleasant and quiet.
Found this one on a Friday "night run" after arriving at the accommodation and having a bite to eat. Tricky even at night due to the traffic, but after we worked out what the name and hint referred to, it was shortly in hand, signed and put back. TFTC.

Team “Ballarat Cache Smackdown” was formed for the weekend of 23-25 March with the very intention of going hard at grabbing as many caches in the Ballarat area that was humanly possible in such a short period of time. The puzzles within a 60 km radius of Ballarat were solved, some multi’s as well. 4WD’s were packed with all manner of goodies, maps and run sheets prepared, spare batteries accumulated, UHF radios charged, etc. The team consisted of TrailRunning, Quasar3671, Blacklegend, Haveanez and Dazrascal. Home base was the pleasant Miner’s Retreat Motel at a reasonable rate a night for a cabin sleeping 8 people. After a quick bite to eat for dinner the Smackdown started with 36 caches being found on the first night. This was one of them. An easy find at night. Liked the monument nearby. Thanks for #32.

Found on a night drive back to camp after visiting an old friend in town.
We spotted the melbournians at GZ on our way past so we stopped for a meet and greet, then a cache & off again. Nice quick find in less traffic at night.
They said the log was full but I found space and there is still more left. TFTC,

Could not let this one go by without an attempt. At least there were some breaks in the traffic to allow me to retrieve the little container. Log book totally full, so added a small piece of paper to go on with. Managed to roll it tight enough to fit in the nano - hopefully those that follow can get it out!
did the mad dash on a lovely Sunday arvo signed log RC but log is full and overwritten
Miss Geo took GeoMum out for a little outdoor therapy today - just what the Dr ordered. #9 of 9 for our afternoons outing. Laughed when we realised where it was. This deserves the favourite we're awarding simply for putting it at one of the busiest, muggle prone areas of the CBD. Late on a Sunday afternoon was probably a good time for retrieval of this one. Otherwise we may have had to leave it till another time (as we did with a few caches today, lots of muggles about). This log is way past full. Needs replacing. Thanks ST37E.

Our first find with C@H and Kellyhaunts on our 750 km roundtrip caching day, visiting hard-to-reach and infrequently visited caches, finishing with a latenight 300 km dash for 8 FTFs!

Found with Dee from Markndee at 6.10pm. Even though it was dark it took a little ingenuity to grab this one. Some dubious photos of Dee and GeoMa taken by GeoPa from cache site. SL and once again took some time to replace log in container. TFTC and clever clue.
Found this one with Harrowang while Geomark was off getting the fish and chips for tea. Plenty of traffic about to add to the thrill. Lived here most of the time but it's the first time I've looked up and actually noticed Sir Thomas. SL TFAC ST37E

Found tonight . Took a while for the brain to kick in though. All these beautiful monuments etc so many places to hide a cache
I tried to be casual with this one, and also time my approaches to coincide with when the cross traffic was going, so people werent sitting at the lights staring at me. I think I achieved that pretty well. As is usual for me with these caches, the challenging, time-consuming part was trying to get the log re-rolled and back into the container.
Thanks for the cache.

After finally finding 'Heritage on Lydiard' which is nearby, I had a handful of minutes to spare before I had to return to the train station for a connecting service up the line for more caching adventures. I made a dash for this cache, hoping for a quick find. The clue had me fascinated until I saw where the cache might be. Darn, and in the middle of the Ballarat 'rush hour' too. Had to look unobtrusive - the old get the 'camera out trick' will do, pretend I am photographing 'something' - though my location was odd to say the least. And dear old Queen Victoria and her grandson, the rather gruff looking King George V, were not really in zoom lens range. Never mind. Still I hoped I would not arouse suspicion, though (in retrospect) having the lens cap on was not really that smart. Happily, I soon enough had this micro in my micro unfriendly big paws. This time I had a 'micro-log extraction device' in the form of a pair of $2:99 tweesers and the log was extracted with rare dexterity (on my part). After getting some 'suss' looks from the passing local Constabulary, (I think the walking stick made me look like a scallywag to the Cops) the cache with its itsy-bitsy log was returned without fuss. Thank you to 'ST37E' for the quirky location of the cache and in this instance size did matter! I'd like to say I took something and left something but then you'd know I did not really find this cache. Good fun with this one in lovely Ballarat.
Grabbed it today with no real problems. Just trying to 0 my GPS and was thinking this cant be right. Then saw the likely spot and was quickly found.

I found this clever little hide on my way to work at the nearby Her Majesty's Theatre. After signing the log, I quickly realised I was being watched closely and so had to take the cache away for a few hours until I could safely return it post-show. Apologies to anyone searching between 7.30pm and 10pm! And any locals out there looking for inspiration for a new cache, you could do a lot worse than draw people to this remarkable venue on Lydiard St. Opened in 1875, it is one of the most important theatres in the country. A real gem! TFTC.
I made a quick grab at night and had to wait a surprisingly long time for traffic to move away so I could return it unseen. Thanks ST37E.

Found by Mary & David at 1955. Well, it wasn't quite dark, but the traffic was very light and we had no trouble stealthily retrieving and replacing the cache. Waving a camera around gave added cover. We don't mind a micro like this on such an historic street. Our thanks to ST37E.
