Thought we’d try this one even though there had been DNF’s. no luck today. Sure is a needle in a haystack. Owner needs to check if cache still there as now 5 DNF’s
Only gave ourselves a short time with this one due to the DNFs previously. Couldn't find it or the clue.
This one was found so much quicker than expected. We approached GZ from both sides and soon spotted some X. Not sure how long one of them will last but that one could be spotted from miles away. We had a fair idea what was required but failed on the first attempt. With some more determination we had the cache in our hands.

Up the sunny coast for a few days after xmas and headed over to the beach to catch up with a friend from Canberra. We decided to grab a few caches and then sat on the grass with our fish 'n chips.
On the way back I stopped here... Again!!!
This time luck was on my side and after stumbling around for a while, I spotted telltale signs the cache was near. And it was. Whew!

I couldn't find this one. I searched around for a while in the afternoon sunshine, looking for an X. Was it a written X somewhere; or a symbolic X? I thought that I'd seen a couple of X's but no cache. And my GPS couldn't quite make up its mind either!
Thanks anyway, its a nice spot

A great spot to explore
The bamboo makes a great sound as it bumps around in the breeze
Reality is that this is geocaching hell
I gave up pretty quickly on this one

Had a bit of a look today with Macca54 but it was late in the day and the road was pretty busy. Another day!!
Found it over a year later with my amazing geo-partner KaleidoscopeCass and her mum. Cass's log to come
On a day out with my awesome geopartner WallabyTim showing my visiting Mum the area, when WallabyTim suddenly veered off the road. I should be used to it by now when he knows of a cache nearby! He had previously located this cache in Feb 2016 so he had a rough idea of its location yet it still took the three of us a while to find it. Loved hearing the bamboo in this magical spot. TFTC
Looked and looked for a whole hour, lots of old and recently fallen bamboo about. Could co please check if this cache is still accessible? Thanks for the hunt, we are from Brisbane and will be back. :^) 10/04/17
Like other recent finders, I've been hunting this cache for many years and I'm relieved to be able to finally log a find. I must say, the cache is much smaller than I realized. Also, sadly, the bamboo stand here has grown thinner over the years. The creaks and groans are delightful! TFTC Mzilikazi.
Found with Kaylee - still to get her own username. That was a tough one. Finally got on the right road.
This one has intrigued me for some time. So proud of myself for finding it. That is some bamboo stack. Tftc
Took a bit of wandering around the bamboo finally honed in on GZ. Replaced log with waterproof strip and dried out the container. TFTC
Hip hip horray. Finally found it after all this time. Persistence pays off. XXX do mark the spot. Couldn't log as it is wet but left a little ladybird.
YAY...after many years of searching, yes when we lived here and back over for holidays. We are over for another break from nz weather so we were going to Montville for a drive with the new and eager R&A180 cachers. We talked about this one tormenting us evey time we searched what seemed a lifetime. Geo-daughter said let's go and look. So out we got searched 5 mins and 'bingo' geo-hubby had that little sucker in hand. What! Finally these kiwiz@gz are happy cachers. Yep we get a smilie. Tftc
Way late logging caches.
Out n about today with a few other geocaching buddies having completed a short walk earlier into Baxter Falls and now it's raining.
Lots n lots of bamboo here...thought we'd be here for ages but someone managed to locate the container fairly quickly and soon after had the cache in hand. Difficult to sign the log as it is saturated and could do with replacing.

Out with a small group today so this one did not have much chance. It was soon spotted.

Our group was out to complete a walk to Baxter Falls this morning despite the weather not looking too promising. We decided to make it a through walk and departed from just up the road after an awkward car shuffle. Maybe we should have looked for this before we left as we had to backtrack somewhat to end up back at GZ. However the nearby café provided a good excuse but not before searching amongst the tall timber. Just A Trifle got us off to a good start and VikoCZ provided the finish. TFTC
We were attending the event at Dunethin Rocks for the weekend and Mr Just a Trifle managed to gain honorary membership to the Bromance for the day. Initially it was planned to hike to a few caches but with the inclement weather in the morning, plans changed and after hiking to Baxter Falls, the group hanged plans and were returning back to camp, taking the opportunity to locate additional caches along the way.
Due to some extra assistance, ground zero was quickly identified and the cache located. With our names added to the log, we continued on our way.
Thank you Mzilikazi for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy.

#4144 [10:14] although we have located the right spot quite soon, it took us while to locate cache itself good hiding place, thanks a lot! logbook is really wet!
Out n about today with a few other geocaching tragics, having completed a short walk earlier into Baxter Falls and now it's raining. The rain has somewhat changed our plans (I use the term "our" very loosely coz I'm just along for the ride and have nothing to do with the plan) but I'm sensing there is a little disappointment as it is now driving by and grabbing caches along the way. Most of us not interested in doing bigger walks in the rain. By the time it is clear enough to go for a walk it is time to head back to Dunethin Rock for the event.

Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
Having just left a nearby residence, we decided to head off to grab a few caches on the way back to Brisbane. This one was first up on the list so we pulled up at the end of the area, and headed in for the search. We decided not to poke around, instead just searching for the X. Kab soon spotted the X and we began the search, and in no time at all we soon had the cache in hand and added our names to the logbook [^]

I doing a spot of caching today with Orange Crew, Dora the Explorer and IolantheK and after completing a nearby cache the included a long hike, we headed to this cache.
When we arrived at the appropriate spot, we realised what would be required and as usual over thought the hint. After a while some information was found and what we were after was soon in hand,
When the signing duties were completed by all, the cache was hidden exactly as found.
All is good with this cache.
Find #533.

There are a few boxes on my DT grid that need topping up, and two of these happened to be located in this wonderful part of the world. So a cunning plan was hatched, and IolantheK CDAH55 and Dora joined me on the mountain today for a high DT jaunt.
This one caught my imagination, and left me wondering what we may find. IolantheK had been here before some years ago, and wasn't quite sure where we should look. There really is quite a healthy forest growing here, glad to see the locals taking care of it.
After some searching and finding all manner of X's, we finally noticed what we needed, and the container was soon in hand.
---
This cache was found in good condition, and adds to our total of 2478 smilies. Thanks **Mzilikazi** for showing us this spot. This log is trackable. Discover our code TGQNRV, and mention where you saw it.

Quick fun find I did this with orange crew and cdh55. We saw the cross and i spied the cache shortly after. When i saw the task ahead I started laughing. I enjoyed this one.
Found it first try but it took a while. After everyone else has sulked off back to the car I stopped to wonder what I was missing. After a little adjustment in my expectations I had it. Favorite point from me.
Sorry DNFagain. Anyone open for another clue. I'll try using a GPS next time instead of mobile.
Woo hoo ... first try and took about 10 mins. Didn't touch anything. ..just wandered thru looking for the X ... bingo. Although cloudy i got the gps 5m with 12m accuracy which allowed me to narrow the search area. TFTC
Found a X but think it was a decoy. Found promising arrows and other X's bot no cache.
Came back to find this after a DNF with geowife. Much nicer weather to find this, don't give up... yes as the other logs say X really does mark the spot... TFTC
Found it with adimages while out doing a casual geohunt. Logbook inside is damp and needs replacing. Thanks for the cache!
Tftc little miss found this one. one misleading x had us looking around that area for awhile. Eventually geogirl looked further around to find the cache.
Out for a Sunday drive with GeographyMan and the rest of the family, thought we'd do a spot of caching while we were out this way. Final found this one after 3 previous attempts.
Log-book is very wet.

Woo hoo! We found it! We found it! Real sense of achievement locating this one. All kudos to GeoMum! TFTC. Found with Secret7(P).
Looked for a good half an hour but couldn't find anything resembling an X other than fallen bamboo. Is it still there?
Found on second attempt. Had to read old logs to work out what x means. Log is pretty gross and smelly. Needs to be updated. Cheers for a good hide.
Once you find the X you realise your an idiot for thinking all the others where X's marking the spot haha
Log and cache is very wet.

I have to admit I've avoided this one! The last thing I wanted to do was crawl around in bamboo finding a micro. I was tricked! Geohubby said we were doing the next cache down the road and I said okay before I realised which one it was. I reluctantly dragged myself out of the car and traipsed along.
Surprisingly, this was more pleasant than expected! Found ... As it turns out we had the cache in hand very quickly....just pay attention to the clue !! Thanks

Hooly Dooley. What a day. This was the last cache of a big day. 3 crews with us who all gave up the rest of the cache tour to come do this one, my Everest, been here before and had a dnf. So 13 of us scrambeled through the bamboo looking for this cache. After 40mins of searching we decided that a break is what was in need. So we went to Flaxton barn for a cuppa with the mystery of this cache eating at us underneath all the banter at the table. It's 5pm now and light is fading but me go back for one last look. Booya! Found it. So rediculously easy. X does Mark the spot and there is even an arrow pointing to it. Good luck. Tftc, going to give it a favourite point because of the amount of time it took us to get this one.
Took a bit of searching here amongst the bamboo! Was about to give up when we spotted the x!!! Then the cache was soon in hand, great hide! TFTC
Tricky hide. ..TFTC. out geocaching with spinyleafinsect mirikochan and Sphir3.
Out for a day of geocaching with geomum (jones.gang) and the geosisters (mirikochan and spineyleafinsect). We started around 9am this morning near Kenilworth and just making it up as we went.
Needless to say i was hesitant on approach, i thought we would be here for ages, but after about five minutes i spotted the hint.

Well now, I've heard all sorts of dreadful stories about how long this takes to discover, including for the CO. Maybe it was a birthday gift from the gods of caching, but we were in and out in two minutes. Gps is accurate and hide appears staight forward. Tftc
Smilie #2217
Parked off-road & proceeded to GZ.
Co-ords bouncing around a bit & didn't want to settle.
Spent a few minutes wandering to & fro then, with assistance from the hint (& a little birdie) the cache was soon found.
Nice sneaky little hide.

This is not one to do on a time budget. I only had 15 minutes to spare for this one. I looked in lots of places that it was not. I found lots of places that matched the hint, but I did not find a cache.
#758 @ 12:07 pm. Oh my gosh!! What a search. Who knew bamboo groaned quite so much, in a scary, drop on your head kind of way. With a little tip from a previous finder we still searched awhile before spotting the area and even then still it was lot of searching. Loved it though. Coordinates were good. I think it deserves a favourite just for being cruel. TFTC Mzilikazi
Out with suzy squirrel today, after a decent search and many X's later we found THE x and later found the cache... TFTC and puzzle, I am curious to what the Community Reasons may be..? However was happy to of had a different type of caching adventure in this non traditional type of 'scruub'
I give up...we gave it our best shot ! Found lots of X's but none marked the spot. Great name for this elusive cache...lol...Well done....

*DNF* PRIDE!
I am going to have to DNF this cache, for now!
I have attempted this once before and was out of luck. So I was hoping that with a second set of eyes I might be able to make a find.
Though today also seemed to be the day that this cache would still continue to elude me. I even tried a PAF but that friend decided to be busy and not respond to my PAF for an hour after we had moved on. They offered, though I refused.
I will be back for this cache... Don't you worry about that 'Mzilikazi'!
I'LL BE BAAAACCCCCKKKKKK!
P.s. Thanks for the great little spot.

I was doing a few in this area and I thought I'd give this one a go... When I pulled up I looked at all the bamboo and thought oh oh... gave it a go but was soooo tired, I gave up and thought this one might be a good one to do another day...

Tried hard for ages to find this. The GPS is has been out all day so no way we could find it today.
At last my sanity has returned after spending a couple of hours in a bamboo stack!! This was our third visit to this spooky place and we were determined not to leave without finding it. We hunted high and low for a b..... cross and at last geowife shouted that she had found it and then the cache was soon retrieved and signed. Thanks for that Mzilikazi - I think.
What better way to end lunch with the girls than finding a few caches on the way home! This one took us a while but found eventually. Well hidden. Signed log and returned as found. TFTC
Found with hulioxxx, driftwood red & possumcrazy & other geofriends. Wow . Good work. Great cache. TNLNSL . TFTC
Gee, I'd forgotten how potentially tough this cache can be. It took me 15 minutes to find it and I'm the owner! Anyways, nice fresh log in place for your signing pleasure and a bit of a re-route with the coordinates since I'm using a Garmin Oregon now and it's a tad more accurate. Enjoy

Found the cache but couldn't write in the log book. Cache has had water get into the container.
With only 2 pairs of eyes it took some time to find but the eagle eyed Ro spotted the '×' as we were just about to give up. Thanks for the challenge and greetings from new zealand

After an ovenight hike to Flaxton walkers camp and a walk to Baxter Falls this morning, we stopped here hoping for a quick find. It was not to be. The noise of the bamboo creaking overhead was a little disconcerting however.
More eyes will be needed to find this one.

I helped place this one. It is VERY difficult you need the be a experienced geocacher to find it. If I
hadn't helped place it I would never be able to find it
