We were just discussing the End of Race today.

Holiday season snuck up on our household, we will be looking at a mid/late January final event.

Is there going to be another event for the end of year race results?

Well, this event is well and truly over, and all the trackables have been removed, so it's time to put it to bed. Thanks to all who attended

All racers are accounted for and in the Pacific Crossing Box!

Tried to find you guys at the park. Did you have a sign any sort of banner? Bit of a novice. Am I too late to have go with the race?

Dropping in my trackable now I've been able to activate.

Just a quick announcement to let everyone know that Dvixen had been busy. All the trackables in the race have now had their ID cards laminated, attached and their photos taken.

Please feel free to download the image of your trackable from the event gallery and attach it to your trackable's page.

Also: we still have three trackables that have not been activated. Could the Puddle_Jumpers-PJ's and ACBC66 please activate their trackables ASAP and drop them in the event for us?

The box will be shipped to Canada shortly, and we need to make sure these trackables are ready to race before they're sent.

went back this afternoon and found gps under tree where miss 3 went to the toilet.
Phew that was lucky however I have now researched the awesomeness that is the new garmin 62S.

As usual I'll be bringing along my pathtags for trading & the Pre-Mega Pathtag Party Box (getting more exciting with 2 accessible mega events on the horizon).
I'll also bring along a couple of gnomes that may be hidden in the general vicinity...

The youngest of the Little C's and I will be there hopefully able to purchase a trackable on the day and join in... but even if i dont will still be good to catch up with everyone its been way to long and so much has happened. Kids and I are itching to get back out caching

A late log to match my late arrival at the event. I missed whatever was happening for the prize draw - sounded intriguing. Great to meet up with a few cachers I haven't met before, plus to trade pathtags of course. TFTE - I hope Tealby's Racing Ingot goes well in the race!!

Thanks to everyone who attended the event! Dvixen and I were really surprised by the number of people who ended up attending, as there wasn't that many "will attend" logs beforehand

ACBC66 wanted to get a TB into the race, so we quickly bought a TB and put a keyring on it - bingo !! One future world travelling TB !!

Quite a turn out... and a nice sunny day..plenty of muggles but we soon outnumbered them, a few gnomes present too.
Nice too see every one , I have placed my racer in the event, waiting with baited breath to see it wizz around Canada and grab all those points !!

Hey - what a fun event - "Trackables Away" and off they go (should activate them soon I hope. Again good to see some familiar faces, finaly got to trade our path tag - awesome!. Always a good chance for a chat and pick up a Gnome etc. If only GUIO's idea of attaching a Chirp to our kids would work or some type of trackable device called the Neverlost braclet or some such thing - children would cease to go missing. Thanks angela (and family) for a fun event not that far from home. Have a merry Christams and happy new year, we will be caching Adelaide this Christmas in the new Caching beast (if we get it before Sunday). TFTE

I arrived to the event a little later than expected as I had just finished the Murrumbidgee walk from Kambah to Cotter (which took a little longer than expected due to flood damage). It was great to see all the usual faces and meet some more local cachers as well. Always enjoy swapping caching stories. Didn't get time to organise a TB for the race so maybe next time.

Wow! What an amazing turnout! So many smiling faces - obviously there is much happiness that there is finally a break in the rain.

We have 37 racers taking part. (And a 38th that may have errantly gone home with someone!) What an awesome turnout for our first Canberran Trackable Race.

I'll start grabbing them in the morning, I've been doing that work work work thing since we got home, and I'm bushed.

I enjoyed meeting some cachers I haven't seen before and catching up with those I know.

A lovely excuse to leave the a lot of jobs behind and head north for the event and some other nearby caches. Nice to catch up with lots of people, and swap some path tags. Thanks for organising, and for one of only two sunny days lately - how perfectly timed!

Well – that was lots of fun. Met up with many old acquaintances, and also some newer cachers that I haven’t met before! Was particularly happy to catch up with Pieboy – that cacher that has been giving me some sleepless nights lately! Also the fact that some of those pesky gnomes came to visit was grand! (Saved at least $15.65 in fuel trying to catch up to them!).

Alas, I didn’t enter the race… I was considering making myself a trackable, and then getting a free trip to Canada, and a possibly fun trip home, but wasn’t sure about the etiquette on such things, so decided not to. Thanks for organising Eynowd and Dvixen!

Attended although I am not a racer. I actually was here dragging along two unsuspecting cachers (ArcherACT and Baby2552) who I had registered in the race - what a surprise for them to realise what they were in for today! Now I shall be an eager beaver watching the progress of their new tags. What a great idea Enowyd and DVixen and thanks for organising it!

Another event to catch up with all number of Canberra cachers. Always fun to cache up and hear all the caching stories. And with the race coming up some, a lot of talk was about that. Another fun day out.

Can trackables that have been found in the wild be added to the package going to Canada for release? They will not be part of the race but may be nice to see some get a few kms added to their tally. Cheers!

After talking to the people from the GCGV, I've updated the official rules of the race. They're now online, and the link is in the event listing.

Rather than just making it a straight sprint for the finish line, it's now a year long point scoring race. Please have a look at the rules and how the points are going to be scored.

If you'd like to enter a trackable in the Trackable Race! and you can't make it to the event please either give it to someone who's attending the event or contact Eynowd or myself for a mailing address. As long as your trackable is at the event it will be on it's way to Canada.

(If you do not yet have a trackable, we will have a small variety along for purchase. We will provide a way so they can be activated after the event and still be in the race!)

I'll be there! What sort of trackables are people planning on entering? I'm going to enter the new Walkabout Tag I just bought with a kangaroo on it. I figure it would be good to see something with an Aussie theme travel the world
