Suspect it has washed away, tree next to drain looked like a great hide, but not for my eyes. A lovely view all the same.
Replaced this one today (finally) sorry for the wait - it is now a film canister! Have a good look as I replaced well! Please replace as found or better if possible!
A great run up the track for some exercise however as the previous logs said we had no luck finding anything here.
New Zealand 2103 trip for the Auckland Mega at Albany. Day 15, In Auckland Region, Northshore and Shakesphere Park. This was a nice walk and a nice out look but I should have looked at the DNFs before going. I also was unable to locate anything up here. Thanks.

Am planning to head out this weekend to fix up a few of my caches!! Will get to this one for you 2newkiwis!
At least the walk was worth the views! Shame about not discovering the cache, if it's still there?!
Brought a couple of Western Springs College teams to the Auckland Secondary School Rogaine championships, so while they were doing their run, I sought out some checks of my own. Couldn't find this one though. Thoroughly checked the base of every tree within reach of the path (and a few that weren't). Even rechecked on my way back. I suspect that this one is gone.
What a shame that this one seems to have gone AWOL, we enjoyed bringing people up this little known path to enjoy the view from the top... hope it gets replaced one way or another!
I didn't understand this cache at first passing as I had come down from the top & was too busy to look for it... but returned at leisure this time and went up, but could not find it. It seems the path has been worked on & extended quite a way from when this cache was placed, whith newer sections of edging & clverts apparent. There didn't seem to be a good spot to hide a cache where the gps was pointing. Or, I could be blind; Or, it could have been dislodged by another huge treasure hunt going on in the park... might need checking. Still a great view!
Out with Oratia Scouts teaching them about geocaching and how to use a GPS we all had a great time and camp Teresa found this one.
Easy find by my daughter and a great view from here, never knew the path existed TFTC

Up for the week with my sons school camp. Had a couple of hours to go for a walk and check out the park. Our activity group of kids were very keen to give geocaching a go, so we took the opportunity to grab some on our way around. Very nice area and great camp location.

I took the most direct route from the beach, so was glad to see the path. Great camo. TFTC.
Phew !! A bit of a climb but well worth it. A fairly easy find with nice camo. Not a soul about !! TFTC
A bit of a climb up the path to find this one, but well worth it, as the view from the top is marvelous.
Found while here for New Zealand day Celebratory BBQ with mates. Great beach, thanks!
Last time i was up on this track you couldnt get all the way to the top. Thinks for the cache
Great little walk up the hill, cache in excellent condition and enjoying the views around the peninsula

After a quick walk up the path to nowhere it was a quick find. Cache is still in great condition and everything dry. A beautiful view from the path.
Up in Auckland with cats&dragons collecting a whole lot of caches.
Thanks for this beautiful spot

This might be last time i look for a micro cache. We had no idea how you might even place a micro cache in that sort of area.
Great cache, view over Te Haruhi Bay is magic, thanks for that, if it weren't for caching we probably would never have done this track.
Moin,
nice place. But I´m too far away. On the other side of the planet, but my son will attend in 20 days. Wishing a happy new year from Germany and the island Fehmarn.

Found by Lizzie10 and Roger of the Collie Crew from the UK.Quick climb up and cache soon in hand, clever container, lovely views from the top.TFTC.
Eventually got to this the hard way - slipping and sliding while trying to go straight up the hill. A great hide which earns a favourite from me. TFTC #136
It is good to see Shakespears Regional Park is open, was closed this time last year.
The restoration is excellent, I throughly enjoyed my walks through the park over the next 2 days, finding the clevely hidden caches. and the excellent clues that made the whole experience a very enjoyable time. This one was no exception.
Tried to find this from the top, gave up and continued to the park at the bottom.
Found the path quite easly, at least the GPS was behaving it's self at this point. and started up the path, thankfully, at the first clear spot on the path, check the GPS, 12m away and about 2m off the path.
Eventually found,
These are the co-ords that worked for me today.
Left my path tag for the CO or the next finder, and a favourate point from me.

Fleeting visit. Ran up and down the path but couldn't find it. If only I had more time (and a better GPS!)
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
Decided to spend the day caching out Whangaparaoa. A short but steep climb and we quickly spotted the cache - very nice view across the bay from here! Quite a lot of Peacocks/Peahens around the base of the track today.
Thanks for the cache!

Never been up this path before, well worth the trip with great views of the beach and beyond. TFTC
have been along this path before and had no idea that geocaching was going on, today came back with an aim and found it with the hint....great spot and very well hidden
Nearly gave up on this one, tried accessing it from the first road on the right after the picture frame but is said no cars. Tried near the YMCA but couldn't see any way of getting near GZ. Just about to head home when we decided to try further down the road. Parked at the visitors centre (S36.36.809 E174.49.262) and after finding the peacocks we eventually saw the well hidden trail head sign (S36.36.871 E174.49.151). Great views of the lovely deserted beach at GZ. TFTC.
We came to this from the opposite direction. There is a path from the top which is accessed by taking the RH path from the 'picture frame'. Easy to get lost this way but we did eventually tracked down the path without falling off the cliff edge.
After Hidden Valley, walked along the beach in the very soft sand to watch the kitesurfers having fun in a very blustery wind. Found the path to nowhere and then found the cache. Nice views back along the beach. TFTC.
This was the fourteenth of sixteen finds today - most were in the lovely Shakespear Regional Park. What an excellently managed park that is! TFTC
Nice adventure we had to this one as we chose a longer router and admired the views and smelled wonderful food that was being served at YMCA. Loved the walk and the find was made as per the hint. Good wander around this place, saw some caged peacocks with the sign, "danger do not enter". We decided to have lunch after this as one of the team members saved us a good spot!

So we came from nowhere and found the path here, partly due to one member of the party deciding to stop for lunch and not mention it to anyone, resulting in an all points bulletin trying to locate angeshirl who had found us a spot to eat. After finding the cache we took the path to the bottom then crashed back up for a well earned feed. Good fun TFTC
Core members of the CCC ( Snakelion, Evilno9, Mel Ramsey and Angeshirl) and I (TAPCC) head off back through the campground (and a soccer game) along the road by the beach and up the hill and through a family gathering at the YMCA lodge and into the bush, then back through the gathering and out the other side past the archery building and onto the road ( after a small rest) We continued on up the road across a paddock over a fence (no gates today) through some bush and down to the track to find the cache. Then down the path that we should have taken and past a cage of feral peacocks back up the hill to the YMCA lodge to stop for lunch! We opted for slightly longer scenic route to this one. Thanks for the cache and the (mis) adventure.
Definitely took the long way around to find this one...but it wouldn't be us if we didn't turn things into an adventure. So after walking about twice the distance we needed to and losing someone along the way, we eventually arrived at the right path, and it wasn't long before we had the cache in hand. Back down the hill, and back up the hill to find the lost member, and it seemed like a good time for lunch! Nice spot, and nice view! TFTC.
Thanks Team Welsh for reminding us to enable this one now the park has reopened!
Park is now open for business so hopefully this cache can be reinstated.

Out on the Peninsula hopefully finding a few caches.
I have been along this path before looking for a cache. This time was successful as well. Great view over the bay.
Cheers for the cache.

A few caches required in the next few days so nice that there are still some local ones I havent found. Mrs B and I missioned out after an abc with a solid housework morning. This cache was a treat afterwards and we enjoyed a sit in the sun after the find once we got back down to the trees on the flats near the beach. I know my mate hanjac would have been wishing he was here as he loves spots like this. TFTC
#949 Meandering around the Peninsula today, catching up on new caches and DNF's from last trip.

Cache is in great shape. You weren't kidding about the title. This path really does just stop and go nowhere!
6361 We have been to Shakespear Park many times, but this was the first time up this path, nice views, TFTC.
Great view of the bay. I'd just attempted a kayak crossing to Tititiri Matangi, but it was just too rough in the channel today.

Easy, quick find. A little confusing on the gps at first but quickly spotted and found walking on the way down. Nice weather for a summer's New Year. First find of the year! TFTC!
Wow the reserve was very busy today. New Year's day and the beach seem to go together. Enjoyed the walk up the "forgotten" path. Some rather large weeds growing up here. Quick find. TFTC
Nice walk along the beach. The photo made the path easy to find. The path no longer goes across to the next bay so "Path to Nowhere"?? Accurate coordinates and my son found it after a bit of searching.
Not long in the door when this notification came through. Being such a lovely evening we decided to make the trip out the peninsular. Arrived at the park and made our way up to GZ. Quick find and a blank log book. . Great little spot and fantastic views. TFTC
