Logs
Wandered over after a nice swim to the gut & back. Found several examples of hint item, searching from above & below after reading a few logs; But no luck. ( Wish I'd seen the photo log!) Probably due a maintenance check anyway, as it sounds like it could use a new logbook anyhow. Thanks anyway.
Well found the wire but not a cache. After few trips up and down gave up. Thanks for showing me this spot anyway.
Doh! Arrived at the bay to see very strong waves crashing on the rocks between me and GZ. I should have done some research first. Decided to leave it for another day.
A bit wild today. Low tide was in our favour. Found it with our 5yo and 2yo. T4TC.
Log book is in pieces. Sorry didn't bring one to replace.

After reading previous logs headed to GZ.... GPS told me between mowed track and beach. After a bit of looking found hint item and quickly had cache in hand. Log a bit wet - managed to sign though.
Had a really thorough search and read last log for clues but no luck. Will keep a watch on this to see if anyone else has better luck than us.
After doing the Kauri Mtn caches, carried on to this beautiful bay, to look for this one. As I walked long the beach, there were three people industriously sweeping the beach, which I thought was a bit odd. Then i noticed the big canopy reaching from a nearby house all the way over the rock wall, so I would guess there may be a big wedding planned for tomorrow.
Found GZ easily, but no sign of the cache, which was strange, as it had just been found a month ago, after a 1 year break. Searched some more and then located the black taped wire cache holder, but no actual cache. The previous log wasn't much help either, as it was in French, so thought this was just going to end up a half find....
Took a photo for proof and then headed back down to the beach where I noticed the bank had fallen away along with a pohutukawa, right below GZ. Suspecting the cache may have tumbled too, I scrambled up the fallen tree and sure enough, there was the cache container, with the TB, but no log. Collected the TB, put in a new paper log and then went back up the track, to reunite the cache with it's original holder. All safe and secure now at original GZ, close to the hint item.

MPLC from France.

First find. New to this, but was relativly straight forward thansk to my daughters sharp eyes
Wonderful evening for a stroll along this awesome beach. Tide just perfect . What more could a girl want to end the day. Cache all high and dry thanks.
Found with weephee, BuckO. Had a clamber, and found it eventually. Was walking around in bare feet from being on the beach. Just spotted the barbed wire, about 2cm away. Lucky day.... Tftc
Much more luck this time. Last time we found that with the tide in you cant get to either cache. TFTC
it needs to be low tide to visit this cache tried at high tide and there was no way around the rocks but good spot
3TF. This was sheer madness, I admit it. Set off in pitch black to find this one, using camera screen as an impromptu torch. Not helped by a lack of moonlight, but at least the terrain was easier. Dropped my writing instrument unfortunately, but daubed and took a photo at GZ to who how pitch black it was. Barbed wire claimed another scalp. TFTC
FTF. For some reason this one took us ages to find, looking in the wrong places, dont think the GPS liked the tree cover.Once we spotted the clue we were sweet.TFTC.
Nice walk, found a couple of big fishing floats in the flax, out geocoin " Sweden Hawk"
