So long, farewell, and thanks for finding.
So long, farewell, and thanks for finding.
Needed my daily cache and it was now 9.30pm.
Hmm, which one shall I do.. which direction do I head in? [?]
Scrolled through a radius from home and saw a couple which required long walks in parks. At night: no not tonight!
Then I saw this one. A short walk in and a cache that had recently been confirmed was still in place.
Arrived at my destination and headed for GZ. Down the slope and into the park area. For once, my GPSr behaved itself on a slope and so with that, and mobile visuals, I managed to locus cache as soon as I arrived at GZ. After the previous logs, I had expected to be here for some time so such a straightfoward and quick find was a bonus [^]

Dropped by to check on the condition of the cache. Everything appears good, although some people need to take lessons on natural camouflage.
Cross checking of the logbook against claimed finds still reveals people claiming the find without an entry. If your find keeps getting deleted that's why, no entry = no smiley.

Went for short stroll to visit the trio of geocaches in this nice area. TNLNSL TFTC
Gps had me running around every bush but the right one.. in the end I hit my self over it..

After looking around the GZ and not finding it, I expanded the search area, ah ha, that doesn't look rite, SL, TFTC
Thought about walking here from the Black Burrow, but seeing it was approaching 40 degrees, I thought better of that idea and drove around to the other side of the valley. Finding a way in was tricky, but eventually located a small access corridor. Took TB.

FUnny how the GPS signal goes nuts near tree cover when most of our caches are hidden there.
After an extensive search of where i thought GZ was, I extenede the search and had the 'Ahah' moment when i spotted the now obvious hide.
beautiful park and playground here, thanks dazzpete

We took a while to fnd this one as the GPS had us looking in one spot and it was eventually found in another! TFTC
A nice find on my holiday around Adelaide. Really enjoying my drive around the area. Found fairly easily. SL TFTC
Well, after Laurenda's log we got in contact with them to discover where they found it. Armed with this information we headed to GZ and did indeed find an intact cache, the original container no less. The cache has definitely been muggled going on the lack of a protective bag for the log book and the strange entries on a couple of pages. Speaking of which there are some names missing from the log book that have recorded a find on this cache, so if you wonder why your find was deleted that's why!
Cache was found away from GZ and has been replaced back where it should be.
Happy hunting

#863 Oops! Didn't know the cache was disabled until just now - I'd downloaded caches to my GPSr just before that so thought it was active. The cache was obviously still there. Sure has been a lot of muggle activity there alright - we commented on that at the time and said we wouldn't have been surprised if it had gone. Very attractive playground area. Thanks dazzpete.
Appears to have been considerable muggle activity at GZ resulting in us needing to rethink the hide
good park, will have to come back here sometime and explore it more

Some little people were hiding in the bushes when I got there.

What a great park to run around in. Do kids ever make hill trolleys any more? They can’t know the fun they’re missing as you career brakeless and barely in control down tree-dotted hillsides [^] [^].
Need a life .. sure do lol.. Pleased to say ozi n floss found it.. awesome day the sun was shining.. found a new *walking* stick. Well didn't have one before but finds it helps. TFTC and a look around the area.
Found while out caching with Dan The Man and The Windy Archers. Had to wait a while for some muggles to finish their game of baseball before we could move in for the cache! TFTC

Found this with 2 of the geo-grandkids who had a great time searching. Had a few problems with muggles playing baseball nearby, but outwitted them in the end! Took 2 Christmas decorations and left a ball and a dog tag. TFTC.
Found on a wet and wintry afternoon.
This would be a nice little playground in better weather.
Took the TB to move along to sunnier climes.

This was our first hunt. We found it in about 5 minutes of looking around so it's not too hard to find. Pretty cool cache with a trackable in it waiting to be moved.
Yes I need a life, but first I have to find some more caches Prefereably a nice big one! Thanks for putting out a box bigger than a mint tin! I'm not a fan of those little fiddly things (but I'll keep looking for them, 'cause I need to get a life).
Had to wander about between the tea-trees before the GPSr finally pointed me in the right spot.
Signed and sealed it up again. Left the TB as I'm carrying a few with me already (but not today).

A short stroll down the hill this afternoon with a GPS that appeared to be in a bad mood. Tried a few obvious locations before turning back to the grumpy GPS to get closer to GZ. Mr Jansons reported that it would be in this area and Mrs Jansons' immediately spotted it. Seems Mr Jansons had a bit of cache-blindness today. SL and left Soundview Travel Bug

Dropped by this afternoon to swap the cache container out with one of a similar style but hopefully more water tight.
Took me a little while hunting through the bushes, but eventually found the cache and it was full of water, luckily the log was protected in the bag, I drained it, but you might need a new container because it is not keeping the water out.
This was a hike to finish off our caching day, thanks Dazzpete for the cache. Taken Voucher, Left Badge.
Find 1181 on Adelaide Cup Day 2011 my 4th Anniversary of Geocaching.
I followed the GPS arrow to the water filled cache container and when drained it was found the log book was dry.
Thanks to dazzpete for the cache.

Wow we must have gone about this the wrong way! What a walk to finish the day with. Thanks to Dazzpete for the Pathtag. I have left one of mine now too. Thanks for the cache and the excersise.
ADE 11. Last for the day and trip back through the suburbs seemed to be very convoluted. At east Tomtom set us close to a walkway down the cache and this nice;y tucked away area. Thanks.

Out for a day of caching with Albida and this was the last and 35th (not a bad haul) of the day. This reserve looks better every time I visit. TFTC
This park is really looking healthy , but where are the people [?].
Looks like a great place for a BBQ .
Took TB & pathtag. Left sheep. SL.

My first find! ...even without a GPS! ... thanks for the intro Dazzpete - off and running now.
After a pleasant little zig zag stroll down through the park, we were pleasantly surprised with the area (and green grass). Arriving at GZ, we thought oh oh, so many places it could be, especially with that long grass there. Mrs TiedyeSmileys ended up spotting the cache (in a place both of us had looked at earlier, but not quite the right angle so we both missed it).

What a great little area - you wouldn't even know it was there. Thanks dazzpete for the cache and bring me there.
Yes I am guilty. I need a life. I cached on Xmas day this year. 5 or 6 I think. Surprising big park. Massive actually. The locals will have some interesting wild life to spy on now. Clear skies.
I was half expecting to run into a bloke named 'Norm' when finding this one, but the place was (thankfully) deserted. And thankfully the cache wasn't in that long grass...TFTC dazzpete.
Dear Santa
For Christmas can I have a money tree in the back yard and a car that never breakdown with a never ending packet of timtams. I've been good I swear. TFTCSL

Another close to home spot I have never visited.
Thanks for bringing me to this spot, with a playground close by.
Took one of Dennis' roos and left a dollar.

FTF!! at 12:06am. Was just finishing off chatting on Facebook when "I got mail" came up. Being so close to home, I could not pass this up, so off I went. Once I found a way in, the cache was soon in hand. Nice hide. TN, L roo. TFTC.
As I pulled in to my driveway, I heard a loud bang and tinkling of broken bits, just over the fence on the main road, so went to investigate. Someone either rolled his work ute, or hit a pole that I could not see, and fortunately no one was hurt. This is 20 minutes into Christmas Day!! Unfortunately for the driver, I could smell alcohol, so heed the warning everyone - take care on the roads.
