I had come down to Geelong and the surrounding areas today with the main goal of finding [maccamob's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=a50e4bd2-6d69-4af7-a203-19897cf3814b&wid=12e54636-6c75-4371-b5ae-7760e25f96e6&ds=2) multi cache, [Wireless (GC9C31)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9C31_wireless) as it was hidden in October 2002, a month I still needed to find for my [Jasmer](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2018/10/the-jasmer-challenge/). Of course I decided to make a whole day of it and grab a few other caches along the way. I wanted to try and target mostly **Large** caches today in hopes of finally qualifying for [McLookers'](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=7853428d-4ac9-4406-a8f5-fb630dc21c01&wid=2eef7221-104c-4226-97f5-7afb3d1fefb1&ds=2), challenge cache, [100 Large Container Challenge (GC79NHC)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC79NHC), which is why this one ended up on today's targets. So I ended up parking at the [recommended parking coordinates](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/wpt.aspx?WID=48dc00e3-953b-4366-8b98-eab3164b3361&RefID=b0a78b9b-f022-49df-bcd8-0c80832791ff&RefDS=1), before continuing my way to GZ on foot. The weather was absolutely stunning today and even unseasonably warm, which made for a beautiful walk over to GZ. It was so lovely to be able to walk through this particularly beautiful bit of nature today and once I arrived at GZ, it was a short search before the cache was found and the logbook signed. A big thanks goes to [Bushfire](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?u=Bushfire) for originally hiding this cache and to [Dromaniax](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=d0b21b2e-6d61-423e-839d-4cc4f7fe7ab1&wid=b0a78b9b-f022-49df-bcd8-0c80832791ff&ds=2) for maintaining it now for me to find. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status**Both the outer and inner cache container were in good shape. All of the inner contents were nice and dry and the logbook was clean with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.
Off for an early morning walk to Edward's Point and back. Started the walk at 7.30 am with an expected sunrise of 7.35. As such, I took the beach track first. The sunrise happened later than expected with the very low cloud cover, but when it did show itself, it was a very deep red. Just beautiful. Then it soon vanished behind more clouds before reappearing well later, higher and yellower. Found all the geocaches and was back to the car at 9.45 am. A total time of 2 hours, 15 minutes with 11 finds, and no DNFs. It was great to find a number of ammo cans in the bush, too. Lovely, enjoyable walk and was very peaceful until the sun was well up and other people started the walk.Had to wait for the people to pass before being able to duck off the track and grab this one. I'm sure I've heard the name KI Bug, or found some of their caches. Just can't remember exactly where at the moment. Signed my name on the April 1 section of the log book. Thanks for the cache, Bushfire.Hunter
Exploring around Swan Bay today and picking up some caches along the way. Flies and bugs were a killer walking along the swamplands without any bug spray. The sun also decided to come out and make things abit toasty.Found this cache to be all in good condition. Thanks for the hide for me and others to find!
I've been looking at doing this walk for years but never quite managed to fit it in. Today, I found myself with some spare time in the area and seeing it was such a beautiful day decided to head off. I didn't see anyone along the path the whole time other than a couple of fishing boats as I neared the point. There were hardly any footprints even once I got out onto the sand. Such a beautiful place and I really enjoyed the quietness of the area with only just the birds for company. I'm glad I've finally managed to get out here after all this time. Another quick find at gz. Thanks for the cache.
Father's Day family adventure #2:
I took great delight in finding this one quickly, which a short schooling to the geokids on how to look for "classic Bushfire hides"! There was some interest in the style of cache container as well. Little did we know how many of these lay ahead for the day.
The eldest was pleased to claim a trackable. The next challenge will be in getting her to release it again.

Second Father’s Day find - we enjoyed finding the large container on our walk. Eldest kid took a track able to join us on our adventures. Thanks again!
Quick find. Left a travelbug behind. Hope you'll have a good further journey
TFTC all safe and dry and an easy find. Camo replaced so all safe for the next cacher
Have been eyeing off doing this walk for some time and finally have had the chance to do it today. It's a very nice walk and thanks for placing a cache out this way
Tftc bushfire. In the little hamlet of St Leonards for a couple of nights with friends. Post lunch cache trip after finding 4 beforehand.
A cool but sunny winter's day when we started out on the bikes, but a squall came over on the jogging leg back from the actual point, got a little damp, but refuge not too far away back at the house meant it didn't really matter.
Quick finds for each of the 4 I searched for, and brand new logs in each.

A nice day to head down to the Bellarine Peninsula. I have my trusty Geotuscon for now. I picked up a couple in Bamganie Forest on the way down an it is now time to take the trip out to Edwards Point in the beautiful Port Phillip Heads Marine National Park (Ramsar Convention listed) area that is Swan Bay. Out with Dromaniax on a maintenance run as CO on behalf of Bushfire.
In case you wonder where all the mosquitos go during winter, it is here, they were thick and constant.
All the caches were found and maintained/replaced/added as we worked our way towards Edwards Point. The area was fascinating as you could see the land area getting smaller that may end up cutting through and making Edwards Point an Island.
Thanks for placing this traditional cache in such a lovely area Bushfire

Out to do some caches while enjoying the scenery and the sun at Edwards Point. A beautiful day.

It's been a crazy long time since I've had a chance to go caching. It seems ironic that the story behind this cache is celebrating an anniversary as we are celebrating 18 years together and managed to get a weekend away without the kids. I've had a trackable on me for a good 6 months that I've been desperate to drop somewhere nice, so it's all fallen in to place at last. It was easy enough to find, but we did a few checks for snakes lurking as it's the first warm day in quite a while. It's all quite overgrown with all the rain we've had too. Lucky for us just an encounter with a giant huntsman in the map box at the start of the trail was all we had to worry about.
This seems strange to be logging a cache that I placed on the 18th December 2010 and have visited a few times since. Do have a read of the cache notes as it explains the name of this cache.
This series were placed because of the very old cache at the end of this track.
Finally, I must thank my good friend Dromaniax for looking after this guy as it has got to the stage when I must pass it on and wish it good luck for the future. I know it is in good hands.
Thanks my friend.

*Cache find # 11922.*
Today I headed over to Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula with biggles1024 & buhfuhguh for a bit of caching fun and adventure.
I had been wanting to take a stroll along this trail to Edwards Point for some time now but it had never seemed like the right time when I had been over this way previously as we always had other plans but today we were able to make time to take the walk, it was certainly a great day for it.
Once we were at GZ, it was long before the cache was found, log signed and we were on our way to the next.
**Thanks to Bushfire for placing this cache.**

**Find #4775**
**Traditional Find #2986**
I headed out with Steve and Michael to the Bellarine Peninsula to target some of Victoria's 500 oldest caches and a few other caches of interest.
The weather was perfect all day and we covered quite a bit of ground on foot and driving. Some progress was made on a long term Wherigo too.
**Thank-you to Bushfire for placing this geocache**

Found by Rebel Acts
My good friends Ski Pair were heading down to Geelong for a few days and invited Me to join them, who could resist being chauffeured around and the company and laughs are always good. We had a great time touring the area discovering new locations while finding caches, We even managed dinner with Suscoe and Busfire.
This is one of the caches we found for the week. Nice to see a tribute cache to KI bug's another gippsland cacher who I have had the previlage of caching with.
This was 11,000 finds for Ski Pair, well done to them.
Logs signed as RASP (Rebel Acts Ski Pair)

Our 11,000th cache and what a good way to celebrate!
It was KI Bug, or the KI Buggers as we like to call them that introduced us to caching way back. The rest is history! They remain great friends of ours.
We rang them to ask if they could help us find a cache we believe they may have already found. Even wished them happy anniversary!
Off on another day caching around the Bellarine Peninsula with our good mate Rebel Acts.
A mixture of trails and other caches. The trails here are a bit of a treat as rather than the preform tubes or similar containers we have generally experienced in the past, most containers are of good size and often are a bit of a feature of the theme in the cache name.
We were racing the weather a bit trying to get in as much as possible before rain set in, but still had to battle showers. Lucky we were prepared.
All in all, another great day caching.
All logs signed with RASP (Rebel Acts, SKI Pair).

The second day in lockdown and only allowed out to exercise. We have been eyeing off the caches out to Edwards Point for a while, checked to see if they were in our 5km radius and they were, so off we went. It was reasonably cool today, and the breeze was light making it perfect weather for a long walk. There are not many large caches around so it is nice to be able to pick one up when you can, this one is a ripper, and in excellent condition, we did have to avoid several muggles, and this is harder with a larger cache. Thank you, Bushfire for this cache.
Cache 400 certainly gave us a challenge! Our GPS had us about 10 meters off we were about to give up when our geo sense went off, found the right GZ and an amazing cache in hand! Our first of this kind so it was very exciting! TFTC Hoodedhooligans (H.H.) 26 December 2020 8:34 pm #400
Came out with wet shorts but glad to find our first cache since lockdown! Put a travel bug in that we had been quarantining with us! Mozzie bite in the middle of the forehead for memories!
Our favourite container! Loved it and left a spokey dokey although would fit much larger treasures!. TFTC
Another cache in my favourite style of container - I'll be back to grab those I didn't reach or skipped past due to muggles. tftc
The kids always love finding a large cache, we didn't bring anything to swap but great cache and good hiding spot. TFTC
We were staying at our friends place in Portarlington and he suggested we go for a walk so that lead us to this area.
This cache was the second find and I managed to guide my friends in to make the discovery. TFTC

Great area for caching. Didn’t have time for the final one unfortunately. TFTC!
Left home early this morning to beat the heat. Arrived at the parking spot only to find I'd left my GPS and scribble stick at home.
Oh well let's hope there are pens and the trusty iPhone is accurate enough
Found the cache easily thank goodness.

I've been fussing for days about which cache should be #6,000 ! I decided that it should be some place on this lovely walk, and here it is !
On a visit to my parents in law we went for a walk and found a few caches. My kids used to stay at their grandparents on bluff rd every holidays while my husband and I worked. They used to ride along this track all the time. lots of mozzies bring your bushmans. TFTC
Caching through this area, it was nice to give the phone to the kids and allow them to lead us down this track. Never been to this arm of the Peninsula before so we were feeling grateful for the chance to explore.
A perfect afternoon and a really cool cache. Thanks for placing it.

With 3 million geocaches on the planet, we've chosen yours to find. You should be thanking us!

With my goal today to reach cache # 2000 at Edwards Point it was great that these caches along this path were a nice lead in to it. And to have another large cache find today was another bonus, to suit a challenge cache I'm working on.Thx Bushfire for placing caches in this beautiful area, a great day for caching today.
Nice one. Found with Ozcapri on our way around the Peninsula. Thanks for the cache
Set out on a lovely stroll after a great swim nearby. Many thanks for the cache Bushfire.
Set off on the walk to Two Bay Lookout at about 10:30am. Weather cooler than expected & wind had little strength to it. A perfect day for a walk & of course some hunting. Found this one on the return trek as we took the beach track on the way to the point.
Great container. Quick find. Racing against time... it’s gonna rain soon . Tftc
Thanks to the long weekend back home, I was able to pop over the ditch for the mega and a ‘few’ caches along the way! I was really after the numbers on this trip, planning to achieve 50+ each of the three days for a challenge – something that is getting much more difficult back home! The weather was great and I had a ball thanks to all the CO’s placing great caches!
Today’s aim was to find some more along power trails and trailets, and a few interesting others. I am so grateful for the variety in the trails! And what a nice place to go for a walk in the afternoon! TFTC!!

With a Saturday free for a change I was keen to get out and find a cache or three but didn't want to go too far afield. So after studying the map for a little bit I finally decided on a walk out to Edward's point with the weather being nice. A message to Neville_devil and of course he was in. Knowing Ausfox; had already done these I didn't expect he was keen on coming but there was a couple of caches on the trail that had appeared since he was here last so he was in too .
More pleasant walking along the trail and we were at GZ again. I don't know what Neville's GPS was doing because he wondered in the totally wrong direction while mine too me straight to the prize. Yay another large container just what the doctor ordered for a challenge that I am working on.
Thank you Bushfire for getting us out and finding smileys

Find #3694. Found @ 12:13 with The Good Lady Wife.
We're in Portarlington on a getaway, and getting in some caching is a part of that plan. Today's plan was walking out to Edwards Point, lunch in Queenscliff, and knocking off some more of the D2B trail.
A quick find of a well concealed container. It would be hard to stumble upon these if you didn't know to look.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache Bushfire

Caching around the Bellarine today, prior to attending the Bushfire Big Birthday Bash.
This one was another nice find. We were really enjoying our walk, and the birdlife here was great. In our own backyard the Indian Mynas have pushed out all the gorgeous little birds we are seeing along here.
The cache was in good condition.
