Continuing on with my well earned 2 week break and after staying in Rochester, Hay, White Cliffs, Cunnamulla, Toompine, Charleville then Cunnamulla again then Wanaaring for the night. So (after my very big detour due to lots of road closures) its now time to head back south towards home. The sun is still making an appearance after being cold and windy for the last week and it is good to get the suns rays onto you to bones. Most of the roads that were closed are now open so I stuck to the dirt to get down to her travelling through Louth.Cobar is a very bustling town and plenty of vans around as well.Well I tried to cheat to get to this one by taking some tracks off the road that I was coming in on but I was met with some large bog holes so the long way around it was.Since this one was an oldie I replaced it with something I got at the SA mega this year and covered it up.Thanks Bain Meadows and farmer brown TFTC.

Freddo and Team Waldron headed to warmer climes around Broken Hill, Cobar, Bourke, Cunnamulla
and Charleville.

After a cold start in Broken Hill the weather improved once we got further north. Sadly our last night in Broken was wet which, pardon the pun, put a dampener on things.

All up it was a great week away and lots of caches were found with only 3 dnfs.

Thanks to all who placed and maintained their caches. The occasional cache was damaged and we refurbished it and we also left new logbooks as required.

We continued today our tour in NewSouthWales, AUS, and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.

The weather was - said in one word – simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood.

The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging.

Thanks to Bain/Meadows, farmer--brown for the generation of this nice cache The Outback #6 (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.

PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they appeared.

Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood.

Together with my son, I am on a camping trip from Sydney to Broken Hill and back. On our 3000 km journey over 11 days we have seen some wonderful little towns, beautiful landscapes and many interesting geocaches.

By chance our geocaching friends The Bebes and PelDroedGwin were in Cobar and we teamed up to clean up the remaining caches in and around Cobar. Some fun tracks were conquered with our big 4WD truck.

Found in good nick. The area is looking great, the rain is working wonders, the goat population has multiplied exponentially with all the extra feed around.

Thanks Bain Meadows for taking time to set out and maintain this hide and for showing us this very special part of the world

We had planned a road trip to Queensland to visit family in 2021, but our travel plans were stalled due to border closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the world was trying to get back to a semi normal state, we decided to have another go at getting away from the cold and head up north for some sunshine and warmth. After spending the night in Hillston, day 2 took us out to far reaches of NSW, stopping to grab a few smileys along the way to break up the straight roads. A lot of wildlife came across our path some literally, plenty of emu, birds, and sheep with lambs to keep us amused. Our apologies for the generic log, but thank you to all the cache owners for the placements.

While the wife was reading and swimming, came past to grab a few more caches while in Cobar.

A little further on and this cache was on another road. Got to GZ and made the find. TFTC.

Beadling around the backroads and adding another layer of red dirt to the fourbee

I found a pen at GZ, if anyone lost a pen Popped a log into a zippy bag and left it at GZ under a handy bit of camo I found lying in the dirt nearby. At least now there’s something to sign.

TFTC BM This cache needs some TLC, if the next finder could come prepared with a new (small) container.

West New South Wales trip 2020. Day 3. I was joined by MinnieK and Fitzy_1965 for a trip planned to go from Goulburn to Forbes, Nyngen, Cobar, Broken Hill, Wentworth and Balranald. Today we left Cobar having found all the local caches yesterday. It was a long straight drive to Broken Hill with a few caches scattered along the way, plus a dual multi in Wilcannia along with a short sharp outback rainshower. We ended the day with an evening tour of Earthcaches around Broken Hill.

The morning started with two more caches just down dirt tracks.

Thanks for the cache Bain Meadows

Headed out on a 10-day trip to outback NSW with fitzy_1965 and albida33.

Day 3 saw us head from Cobar to Broken Hill via Willcania where we had lunch. It even rained for about a minute there. In logs we signed as MK, F65 & A33.

Back to finish off this little series before we headed out of town. Quick find here today.

Day 3 - We drove from Cobar to Broken Hill, finding many interesting caches along the way. This was the next find of the day, and it was a quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then it was off to the next one.

TFTC,
Returning East after a week at Broken Hill with time to grab the caches along the road here.
Let this one go last week because of the rain and wet road. All good today.
Visited trackables to track my trip.

Looked at driving up this road last week when we were here and decided it was too wet. Today on the way back into town, we went in, no problems. Quick find, signed log and replaced. Thanks to Bain Meadows.

A quick DIDO.

Today we were moving on from Bourke to Cobar after attending the inaugural QOGM in Barcaldine. Pa humoured me and drove via Byrock so that I could gather more smilies. I had investigated previous finds and chose those caches which were most likely to bring a smile to the map and my face.
The day was in two parts - in the morning Pa drove and after lunch he watched the Bathurst race while I travelled around Cobar finding caches.
This was one of the caches found today. All logs were signed though some as SG if appropriate according to space avaiable.
Thanks to all the COs for placing these caches and to other cachers who are doing the maintenance. Much appreciated!

Traveling home via Snowtown, Broken Hill, Cobar, Dubbo, Forbes, West Wyalong &Temora, finding a good variety of cache types and hides. I visited some interesting historical towns and bush locations, which made the round trip well worth the drive.

I did as much maintenance as I could, replacing damaged containers and full or wet logs.
Signed and replaced.

Many thanks for placing this cache, Bain Meadows, for us and others to find.

Found while slowly making my way to Cobar from Broken Hill. I found the changes in the country along the way really interesting. Shame about the massive numbers of feral goats though - they really are having a big impact. Thanks Bain Meadows for the cache.

Today we revisited Cobar and ticked off these caches that we had not found since our last visit and this was one of them.

A nice series to explore the 4x4ing around the area, an easy find at GZ.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

DNF 1 of 2 on a day with 14 caches found for the day

Thanks Bain/Medows and farmer--brown for you additions to the caching map however this one illuded us on this occasion.

The total count for the day was 14 consisting 10 Traditionals, 2 Earth, 1 Multi and 1 Mystery and 2 DNFs a really diverse day.

Grand Cache count = 365 total consisting of 344 Traditionals, 14 Multi, 5 Mystery and 2 Earth

I am logging this as a find, but all I found was the log book bag minus the log book. I had a good look around for any other remains and found nothing else. So I placed a new ziplock bag and log in a very flimsy plastic container and then hid it where I thought it would be hidden. The CO may want to check this. If I didn't find the right cache feel free to delete this log.

New large bison and log sheet. Thanks nice day for geocaching.

Day 4 of 23 of our caching trip to Alice Springs, finding 300 caches in total. This was find #1 for the day.

Today we drove from Cobar to Broken Hill.

After leaving town I had to take one of the TBs in my possession to "The Outback" so this seemed appropriately named and pretty enough for a detour. An easy diversion.

Past by this one on the way in to Cobar today from the west. Debated whether to get it then or do it as part of the series on the bikes later. The bike ride option won and therefore it became the last one we tackled. Cache was not in its hidey hole but was found on the ground about 5 metres away. The lid was cracked but the contents were dry. We dug out a deeper hole for it and found some bark to cover it with. For the first time in kilometres we couldn't find a decent sized rock to put on top to keep it in there. One small one was all we could find. Thanks, an enjoyable series.

Catching up on some late, very late and extremely late logs (400 in all)

I would like to thank Bain Meadows for placing this cache. I always enjoy getting out and about to view this great country of ours and caching allows me to do that. Once at GZ, I sometimes find the cache quickly but sometimes it takes awhile to sus out the well camouflaged hide. Once found, log is signed and the cache is rehidden as found.

Once again thanks Bain Meadows.

While staying in Cobar for Easter we are attempting to find some of the local caches.

We had been hesitant to try for the local 4x4 caches as we thought the area would be overrun with muggles enjoying the tracks over the Easter break....however they must have all gone elsewhere as we only saw one dirt bike and one quad bike travelling together all daySurprised

This is our first find of this little series. Thanks for the cache Bain Meadows[^]

Another easy one in this series, a lot of tracks to explore in this area and we had fun doing that.

Found at 3:23 PM GAFF1. We could have done this one on the way out of Cobar tomorrow, but we will have our van on then and we thought we would play it safe and just go in on these tracks with the Patrol. As it turned out we could have easily taken the van down here and even turned it around without too much difficulty.
We made this a true "drive-by" by grabbing the cache from the drivers seat. Didn't even have to get out of the car [^]
