Quick pullover on our way out of town. Unfortunately we didn't have a container with us. TFTC
Hello from afarUnfortunately, it is not possible for me to replace the broken container in a timely manner. It would be great if a cacher could bring a new container.Best regardsPeterHallo aus der FerneLeider ist es mir nicht mglich den defekten Container zeitnah zu wechseln. Es wre super, wenn ein Cacher einen neuen Container mitbringen knnte. Liebe GrssePeter
Hello, as another has written, this needs attention. The whole container is disintegrating, not just the lid. It will be without a container soon. If i had a spare I would have swapped it out!
Making our way towards home over the next few weeks travelling with 2 dogs and a cat we have found caching a great way to give the fur babies a break. Stopped in Broken Hill for a few days and toured around with the help of local geocachers taking us to spots that locals know about. Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining
We spotted the Pinnacles on the way in. Poor cache containers lid has suffered with heat and broken. Still 800km to try to travel today but making time to stop for caches along the way. Into Broken Hill now for earthcaches and labs among our interests. After a long period of outback, yesterday we turned east at Port Augusta and enjoyed lush greenery and gumtrees of the lower Flinders Rangers as we passed through. Quite a contrast. Having travelled late, we arrived in Manna Hill last night to stay in their towns rest area. Waking to another very different scenery of flat dry country in a little town passed by most travellers, so many trucks, and the odd train. Goats! I love these tiny litte feral goats, it's great to see them as we drive past, yes, the little things amuse me! Took time exploring towns as we passed. Broken Hill kept us way longer than intended or we had time gor, but just made the time. And it was HOT!!! Only 30C but a different heat, still nicer than cold though! We pushed on late into the night, Nyngan was our limit and had a great rest stop facility in town. A good place to stop after a long but great day, thanks fir your cache!
Another long trip around AU over the top end with lots of detours. Now heading back east across the Nullarbor with a stop at Maralinga, Ceduna, Lincoln National Park, Coober Pedy, Oodnadatta, Broken Hill & Orange.TFTC. Nice virw of Broken Hill.
The container needs to be replaced the lid is broken. It was quite windy up there today. The log may not survive if there is any long periods of rainThanks for putting this one out for all to find.
Found with Zigzoggy and Barbie_OCE. Nice easy find. Container broke more when I was opening it. Definitely needs maintenance. Main log was soaked. TFTC
Log is soaked and container is broken. The lid broke abit more when I tried ti open it
I would normally give this a Needs Maintenance as the cache lid is broken. It needs replacement and was flooded when I visited. Nothing to replace it with unfortunately. Thanks for keeping this one going. A nice foggy view from here today.
Out caching with my caching buddy, MrsShep77, and our faithful drivers. Thanks for the great hides.
Its a bit hot and I haven't had my morning coffee yet.. but I made it up to sign the log. Tftc
We are one our way to Adelaide for the leap Year Mega. After an early start from our overnight accommodation, we set off to find the caches on our target list. All caches were found and signed as "5 for QLD" for our traveling group of hatzofff (myself), RoddyC, Imbunda, Snickersallan and grannysmith1947.Our third day on the road and we are in Central NSW heading to Broken Hill through many LGAs.
An early morning start after our overnight stay. I am traveling with my friends, hatzofff, RoddyC, Snickersallan and grannysmith1947. We are signing all logs as "5 for QLD" to save space. All caches were found, signed and replaced as foundIt is very warm weather, but we are having fun finding different caches. It is my first time through this beautiful country, even if it is a little hot.
TFTC smile 18447 ?? Out and about on a lovely day ?? having a great time finding a few caches heading to Adelaide for a few weeks then on our way to Canberra . Signing as 5 for QLD - Hatzofff Snickersallan RoddyC Imbunda. What a great team we made and lots of laughter and funThank you KPKproject for placing this cache for our enjoyment ??????
A Leap Year Mega draws us to Adelaide. Today's our intrepid group has our 6th full day of caching. We are using the Acronym 5 for QLD to sign the log sheets. Most of the caches this day were nice quick finds. Overnighting in Broken Hill, so a few local caches before it gets too dark. Loved the church caches! And so happily I say that the logs were signed and caches replaced as found on this day, 26th February 2024. TFTC, KPKproject maintained by farmer--brown.
Continuing my adventure, I was heading back towards Broken Hill when I decided to stop off to find this cache. The cache was quickly located and my name added to the log. With everything returned as found, I continued on my way. TFTC
#519 2:37 pmQuick walk up the hill stepping on animal bones with 50km an hour wind I got the cache log was a little wet but dry enough to sign the log. Nice view. Thanks for placing this cache KPKproject
Something special or unusual goes here:The Generic Bit:QOGM adventure - I was able to catch a ride with Muff1 who were heading to the QOGM event and team up for 3 weeks of caching adventures. 3 weeks in a swag - will my back hold out[?]Day 2: Today we moved eastwards from Cockburn only as far as Silverton for the night so we could explore around there and Broken Hill. **SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. - BOING*****Thanks KPKproject for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.
Freddo and Team Waldron headed to warmer climes around Broken Hill, Cobar, Bourke, Cunnamulla
and Charleville.
After a cold start in Broken Hill the weather improved once we got further north. Sadly our last night in Broken was wet which, pardon the pun, put a dampener on things.
All up it was a great week away and lots of caches were found with only 3 dnfs.
Thanks to all who placed and maintained their caches. The occasional cache was damaged and we refurbished it and we also left new logbooks as required.
First cache for the last day of our trip.

Done with Trodectus on the way out of BH. Quick find once at GZ. Log signed and returned. TFTC
Found with Coybear2000. We'd spent a few days in Broken Hill and we were on our way to SA. A quick stop, C soon had CIH, log signed and we continued on the road. TFTC.
We continued today our tour in NewSouthWales, AUS, and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.
The weather was - said in one word – simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood.
The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging.
Thanks to KPKproject maintained by farmer--brown for the generation of this nice cache The Pinnacles (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.
PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they appeared.
Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood.

Found with georocks101. We decided to search for this cache after visiting the nearby solar farm which was quite impressive. The pinnacles in the distance are also an interesting sight. Tftc
Easy find with JelenaGreenleaf. The log book was a little soggy, but still signable. TFTC
We are on our way to the Rutherglen Mega. Today's journey takes us from Broken Hill to Peterborough. When we first arrived in Broken Hill the Caravan Park was packed as the races were on, but today with high temperatures expected soon, the CP looked deserted! We had a good time in Broken Hill but our departure was not smooth. Our pump on our water in the camper had not worked since Qld. As we were filling up with diesel, a great flush of water cascaded down giving the attendant a fright. We must have a connection problem and the pump turned on and bust a fitting. I think that is now the 5th problem we've had, I'm hoping for no more!
We travelled along the highway sometimes stopping in time for the cache sometimes not as our attention was elsewhere. Workmen were at one GZ. Then as time went on we skipped a few.

Great view of the solar farm from GZ. The log book was quite wet making it hard to turn the pages and to sign it. TFTC
Headed in a different direction for the weekend with Purrfect Di. Saw some sights, took some pictures, spotted your cache!
A nice quick find in the dark, and some Sturt Peas too Nice. Always have to stop and admire the SA state emblem... perhaps this should be part of SA
Thanks KPKproject for locating and maintaining this cache on our ever growing Aussie geo-map

Hiking and driving around wherever we can - searching, spotting strange items and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guyess or plain old dumb luck
Plenty of the luck stuff actually !!!
*All the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course.*

Danger! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, floodwaters, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for bugs !!! . [xx(]
Make Travel Bugs the Only bugs you share and pass on (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside
Heaps good of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
Much appreciate you reading all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and we can put an end to these long logs !!!
C'est Fini.

With the Sturt dessert peas in flower we quickly found this cache thanks to grey team for the replacement
Hello from Germany. many greetings to you. great that you supported me and installed a new container. It is currently not possible for me to come to BH because of the regulations. I miss Australia a lot. So thank you for your commitment. this is how geocaching is really fun.
We bought a new container in town and returned today to replace the broken one. Transferred most of the items into it even though some were still wet. Replaced with new log in a plastic bag.
Container broken and full of water so didn’t replace log as it would have just disintegrated. Took pic log as too wet to sign. Attached. Great views from here. TFTC.
We almost missed this one as we were looking forward to getting into Broken Hill. Such a shame that we had nothing with us to help with maintenance. Very sorry about that as it is something that we like to do. We will be away for about 2 months and we are camping so we aren't carrying anything we don't need. The cache was as previously described. Thank you for doing your best to keep this cache going.
Fun, adventure, travel, history, geology, mental stimulation, social gatherings, support and friendship are just some of the elements of geocaching.
Out and about enjoying the opportunity to grab a few caches, yours being one of those I targeted on my journey today. Thanks ??
Thanks KPKproject (F=3470 H=110) for placing this cache and adding to our game.

sorry As a result of the Corona rules with an existing travel ban, it has unfortunately not been possible for me to enter Australia and look for the caches for more than two years. maybe there will be a dedicated cache visitor who places a new container with log strips. That would be great! Cheers Peter
The cache container is broken and the log book very wet. It needs urgent maintenance and a replacement log book as it is full. TFTCSL
Needs a full new setup. Container is broken and the logbook is very wet.
Sorry I did not have anything to fix it.

Drove past the large neon sign warning of the looming SA border. I’ll get there but not this week I drove up to GZ as the car is already coated in red dirt and, well, it was quicker.
Great view of the solar plant from up here... Bonus! I stopped at the solar plant on the way back to BH. There’s a lookout and info boards. It’s quite a sight!
Oh, yeah, logged the cache

After leaving Broken Hill on our way to Wentworth we took a wrong turn and almost made it to Cockburn before discovering we were on the wrong road. Oops… but what a fantastic opportunity to come to this cache to see The Pinnacles. Wed seen them on the way out and only after doing this cache Knew they had a name. Thanks for bringing us here.

As we were staying in Broken Hill this weekend, we took a drive out to the SA border, and then stopped by this one on the way back to town. Cache was found safe and sound.

Found with MummyPenny this afternoon. Cache finds are making us more familiar with all the different rocks around here and there is no shortage here. Container is a bit cracked but all seems dry for now. Thanks farmer--brown.
Can't actually see the pinnacles from GZ, but you do get a great view of the solar farm. Nice quick easy find on a nice sunny afternoon. TFTC. SL. left more swaps for the kids to find. A little bit windy up on this hill. Great view of the barron country all around here. Cheers.

And here we are. It is 2022, and after moving my life half the world away to Australia, discovering that Geocaching there without my friends was not as fun, generally trying to survive Australian fauna and flora and finding a job, only doing Geocaching on occasion during 2019, and then the pandemic hitting in 2020 and putting almost a complete halt to all traveling and finding, plus finally coming back to Europe to try and redo my life here this year… I have decided to sit down and log online all of the records I had gathered offline during these years. Some are lost forever (don’t trust your phone for years on end with offline logs), but hopefully I will manage to recover enough logs to paint a few broad strokes of what these years were, and the places they took me to.
Apologies in advance to all owners for this (in some cases, very) delayed logging. I can only say that sometimes we are not in the best place, and it takes time to find oneself. Thanks in advance for the hides, the places you took me to, and the stories you shared in the way.
-----
Seeing how the pandemic seems to be spiking, we decide to stay within NSW for our Xmas holidays. But as we have not gone anywhere in almost a year, we decide to take a roadtrip and get to the furthest place possible within the state (yup, northwest corner). On the way, we go through mining towns, Broken Hill, Opal towns, Celtic towns, Casino... all the way north to Byron Bay and the border with Queensland, as we hoped to cross over to Brisbane to see a friend we had not been able to visit since all of this started.
Due to the crazy raining, flash floods and a spike in the pandemic and border closures, our trip has to go through a few changes, but we end up doing enough kilometers to have travelled from the west coast of Canada to the east coast of Canada, and all within NSW!
We start our trip heading to the Broken Hill area, where we spend a couple of days and visit Silverton.
TFTC!

Epic. Such a hot windy day to try this one!! It was really a battle against the elements. So glad to finally sign the cache without the whole thing blowing away!
Stopped in here as part of our Great Western County Hunt. It has been a truly incredible trip, as I managed to pick up the last four counties I needed to fill in my NSW county map. A super exciting thing to complete. Thanks for enabling our crazy adventures. Thanks for the cache.

On this hot windy day, my mother and I spent the morning in an air-conditioned art gallery, then in an air-conditioned restaurant for lunch; after which, we returned to our air-conditioned motel room. Wanting a break from reading, later in the afternoon I left my mother in the motel room and set out to find this cache, buy food and get petrol (the Metro was the cheapest). I would have left earlier, if I hadn't already found most of the local caches. My car temperature said it was 42 degrees, and it refused to budge off that. The wind had whipped up dust, making a misty landscape. Fortunately this cache was a drive-by cache. My car shook in the wind as I parked. The cache hide was easy to spot with the yellow decoration. The wind hurled at me like a hot fan-forced oven, as I stepped out of the car. I signed the log and re-hid the cache. Cache and log are good. I left a colourful necklace.
Then I drove back to town, attempting to chase flies that had found a refuge in my car. I wonder how many accidents are the result of annoying flies. TFTC KPKproject & farmer--brown.
Tomorrow it's expected to be 28 degrees...Yippee! .

Our last find for the day as we headed towards Broken Hill. A nice outlook from here and we managed to make it almost a drive by! Thanks for the hide.
Start Desert peas flowering beside track from road on east side of cache. Good view of solar farm & miners memorial in distance
Quick drive by turned into a significant stop when I located the Sturt Desert Peas. Great cache, thank you. TNLN. TFTC.
Mrs M was keen to do this cache. Neither she nor Mr M had ever seen Sturt Desert Peas in the wild and the CO suggested that we might find them here.
Initially we saw some other wild flowers but no Desert Peas. Mr M wanted to explore in the hopes we would find one.
He found several on the steep verge that runs down to the road. So camera's came out and we had a lovely time. For Mary, the trip to Broken Hill was worth it, just for the Sturt Desert Peas. Thanks so much for bringing us to this cache.
Another favourite point, wish we could give you 5.

Here is a blurb about us
We are trying to get a badge ,the author ,from project GC for writing found log files of 100 words or more. Once we get this badge we will stop writing this. We are also trying to get badges for adding photos to our found logs .
We started caching in December 2019 and by January 2020 we were hooked. As we are on the road full-time, living in a caravan for almost 2 years now, caching fits in well with this lifestyle. It is taking us to places that we would normally not have gone. When we move to a new place we also look at what caches are in the area and how many days we will need to be there in order to get the caches we want.
We are in Broken Hill for a few days and will try to get some caches in town and surrounding areas. We hope we can make a few smilies here to add to our find tally. We are looking forward to the variety of hides we will encounter. Thank you for your work in placement and ongoing effort for maintenance of caches.

Time for a little trip in to the outback of New South Wales. A bit of a holiday and if you are on a holiday you cannot drive past a cache without collection some on the way. I had my Geo Chauffer driving me around to collect some cache.
Found this one while wondering around Broken Hill, headed out to find this one as it was not far out of town.
