As there's been no cache to find for some time, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Spent some time looking for this on a beautiful chch afternoon but alas no luck, will return and find it one day.
Toitoi, flax and cabbage trees - I could be there all day. Too cold for a long look today I'm afraid.
I think more like "chilling with the locals" never the less great cache, and easy find!
TFTC!
TFTC!
Not hanging any longer but perching with the natives. Found with Geo Jessie with much entertainment from dogs playing in the open spaces. TFTC
Didn't find today. Found the stump, but after much searching in, around, above and below came up empty. Try another day.
Third time lucky! Sunshine and paying attention to the name of the cache definitely helped!
Having had a lovely time at Ferrymead's community day, it's time to do some caching. And what did Heafudd M say as we we wandering across but "I see horses". No comment! TFTC
Arrived at GZ and thought this was going to be a difficult one but was pleasantly surprised to find it within minutes. A cool cache. tftc
#1495 @1200 hours, bright and sunny, though quite breezy.
In the City from the Marlborough Sounds to do some business, so time out for to do some exploring, and a cache, in the park, while the business is done for us. Thanks Parmur for placing this cache.

I placed a new peice of waterproof note paper in the cache as the log is almost full. A great wee hide although a little loose. I had no pencil sharpener to sharpen broken pencil though.
Nice evening for a power walk around the park and of course a spot of geocaching. TFTC
This took a bit of hunting but after systematic search finally came up with the cache. Drizzly today so no muggles about. TFTC
After a beautiful day rock climbing we still needed a few caches for today any thought we will stop here. It is such a nice place and a gorgeous vies to the port hills Many thanks for this great cache!
Out on an evening excursion with Team_Gaters on an iffy evening, turned out lovely in the end. We (well I) wanted to stay close to home tonight as I'm on high alert at the moment as due date for Cachelet #3 is near.
Hee, hee, clever title. This has been one of those "I'll get to this one soon" caches as I have driven past. Tonight was the night. Quick find at GZ and onwards.
Thanks for the cache.

Nice little reserve that we got to from walking from the carpark near on the ferrymead side. Came at it from just the right direction so was spotted easily on approach. TFTC
Wandered over from my nearby cousins house to find this one.
After a bit of searching, we hadn't had any luck. So I read some of the old logs which were very helpful and allowed us to find the cache.
Thanks.

Even searching with markhnz, this cache took a while to locate, while visiting our niece’s house only 300 metres away. TFTC
I must have cleaned my glasses and rested my geo eyes enough to find it this time. A conversation with Bbear44 helped too.
Cool cache. Neat area, lots of boats being sailed today on the last day of school hols. TFTC
Had me stumped for awhile then after having a bit of a lunchmunch I had it in hand in no time nice hide.
Nice easy cache. Unable to sign log as pencil won't write on the shiny paper. Left small
3 from 3 today and only 5 days to achieve the requirements for "55 Days of Caching". Like LaVista I notice the hint item is no more but the cache is close enough to not matter. Thankfully I timed my arrival just as the K9 walkers departed so no being spotted lurking in the bushes.
Original log is almost compost, the replacement someone put in appears to be waterproof paper (though it still feels damp). The swaps in there were mouldy so I've disposed of them (none appeared intact anyway). No sign of the listed GC.
Thanks for placing a cache in a park I hadn't been to yet.

Took much longer than it should. Most the trouble was finding the entrance of where to park the car. The hint item is now just a stump!. With the light fading fast in these shorter days I spotted the cache not too far away. TFTC
Our 4 year old grand daughter found this one while the rest of us looked around! Clever! TFTC
Found with Tramper Ted after we had both been running in an orienteering sprint event at Ferrymead heritage park. It took a short search, then we understood the hint! TFTC.
Found with Edvern after the Orienteering event nearby. Walked across to the cache and found quite easily, had a bit of a laugh at the cache page information! Log was very damp, unable to sign, so added a piece of waterproof paper, but it does need replacing. TFTC
Hard to find. Clue says in native bush but there was about 50 native plants it could have been under so gave up after about 20 mins. Clue could have been more useful
concur with previous log - dry weather has dried out the log OK enough to write, but it really needs some attention as the cache holder is not water proof. Also, there is Pitt the Younger, Pitt the Elder and Pitt the Deceased - the latter is appropriate.
After being stopped by muggles at both the caches further up the valley it was good to be able to put my hands on a cache. Unfortunately, the cache is in need of maintenance. Mr Pitt looks like he is dead and the log is in dire need of replacement - as the container is not watertight.
Thanks for bringing us here managed to see two older muggles playing with their planes. Steam train head off then off to find the cache nice easy find. But the logbook still needs replacing. TFTC

Another find on the way to the NZ Mega Event at Dunedin. Log was wet so we inserted a dry piece of paper with our logs. Many thanks for the cache. TNLNSL

Geotooter and I were in town from across the ditch to attend the NZ Mega Event down in Dunedin. We found the entrance to the park and found two fellows flying their model aircraft. We wandered over to GZ and soon had the cache retrieved. The log was way too wet to sign so we left a slip of dry paper with our names on it. Returning to the car we stopped and chatted to the two fellows flying their planes. They told us about the earthquake and the destruction that hit this area. We were wanting to travel along the Summit Rd but they informed us it was blocked. It was great talking to these gentlemen. This is an attractive location and thanks to Parmur for bringing us here.

Nice cache, took a tad to find due to GPS issues. Water has gotten into the cache and made the logbook impossible to write on, possibly need a new logbook and a plastic bag.

Our first try at Geocaching. The kids loved it. Great hide, found it quickly.
Was feeling a little silly going back for our second try but kids were determined to and glad we did, kids said this was a great hiding spot- thanks!! Kids left tiny horse trinket to join the real ones.
Thanks for bringing us here, after finding the cache with our kids and my brothers two we watched the model remote control airplane do acrobatics in the air. Never knew there were so many people into this - kids loved it. TFTC
Heading back to town to pick up mother but stopped here to see the horses! Was interesting walking into the strong southerly across the fields but even better being blown back. Thanks for an interesting location. Kiwicampnut
Heading home from a lovely family wander in the nearby hills. Wee dudes wanted to have a nosey at the train/trams...so stopped off on the weay by. Soccer game in progress but easy pickings. Great wee spot. Thanks.
Tried this cache a while ago without success. Today was a different story and now it can be deleted from our ToDo list. Football (Soccer) players more interested in their game, so no problems with all the muggles. TFTC
Looked too hard at first but found in the end. Nice idea for a cache. TFTC
In the end, a good hide . . . now that I've found it! GZ was about 2 meters away from where we found the cache.
Lots of muggles around today - watching rugby in the park. Nice find, without being spotted. TFTC
Due to the closeness to Quake GZ this cache is in and the limited amount of work that is been done around here, I will enable the cache as soon as the maintainance in the area has been completed.
Pop past today and noticed some work is going to be going on around GZ and due to winter cache is very exposed so have taken it away while things are happening. Will return as soon as the coast is clear.
A nice clever hide, better than what I feared when I got to GZ. This area will be very nice when it gets established.
Cheers and thanks,
S.t.

TFTC. Loved the clue. Found it moments before the southerly blew in and it started raining. Squeezed in a tiny pink trinket. No room for anything larger
Yep saw horses, and gave me a great ideal for a cache, just have to find the right spot.

3591. Our first geocaching since 19 February - too many other distractions!!! Went the long way home after going out to buy some petrol before work.Knew where to go and had a good idea of where to look so it was a short walk and a very short search before the neat container was in hand. Nobody around apart from a teenager doing laps of the sports fields - not tempted to join her! Thanks for the cache and the minimal amount of exercise. Sallies.
Hunted twice for this one but no joy at all. I will not be beaten though. Perseverance is a virtue. I shall return to this one.
Mmmm. A week later. Lovely day. Nice bike ride. Fossicked in the bushes for ages but no joy at all. I'm reading the other messages and they seem split between people who found this really easily and those who had to search for a bit. Clearly I'm a beginner cause it has me stumped.

Yahoo! We C Horses and small geocache containers hanging around. Goodness me this should have been really easy. What was I doing? Walking around blindfold expecting to bump into it? I must have been having a "Daddy" look rather than a "Mummy" look. Nice challenge and enjoyed three bike rides and a chat with Sallies for some help. Had fun and left a giraffe's head. (No seriously)
