Found but only the tin no lid no contents, searched around no luck. Nice hide but may have been muggled needs urgent attention. Thanks nice view and "good" walk.
Beautiful day, beautiful views. Found what was left of the cache attached to back of rubbish bin.
Cache is missing lid & contents. Moved back to listed coordinates. Needs maintenance ASAP.
What a wonderful, spectacular place. So much history.
Found the cache. It was dry but in pretty poor condition.
Thanks bamster for enticing us to such an interesting area.

I was running support for the Crocodile Trophy Mountan bike race, which ended on the top of Grassy Hill today.
While everyone was busy with the riders, I walked back down the hill for a little caching.

Quick and easy find while on 4X4 Adventure trip ... just have to watch out for the muggles on the top.
Thanks bamster for the cache

Just going back through my Oz travel book that I had misplaced and trying to log caches that we found whilst we were on holiday. Can't believe it was so long ago. I didn't write the GC codes down either so this may be a long search!
Yay! This cache was hard to find to log but got there in the end! I found this while visiting a friend and had a great time. We spent the day here and went off the wrong way to begin with and then found it. It was easy to find but there was no lid. The log was dry but I think it had been damp previously as there was some blurring of names. Sorry it has taken so long to log.

North Qld 2013. Day 25. Cooktown to Hann River crossing in Lakefield NP. After a great afternoon and night in Cooktown, it was time to head further north. As there were no more caches to come without a DNF I grabbed this one in the morning. I am sure I have seen this tin before. Very green, but I think the hill is now a bit sterile. At least the view is still here. Thanks.

2652. Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 0750.After a string of DNF's we weren't real sure of finding this.
It took us nearly an hour but after reading the bit about the lid gone we thought it may still be in the vicinity. Pulled the truck up beside the location and went over with a fine toothed comb. Mrs decided to go for ground level to be heard "I've got it" You little beauty. The lid is gone the log sheet is damp and the container is back where it should be and as mentioned we found it. SL Tnx bamster

Have to agree with Beetles2. Cooktown is not the most friendly Geocaching town . We also found only 1 out of 4.
Another DNF in Cooktown. Of the 4 traditional caches we attempted we only found 1. How sad - too bad!! Glad there are a few virtuals here and a trig otherwise we would have been seriously pis*#d off. But thanks anyway.
If this cache is not in place it should be disabled or archived to stop it showing up and having people waste time looking for it.
We've been here before, a few months ago; I guess it was Version 1 ten.
If Version 2 is/was in the same place it's gone. No sign of anything.

In Cooktown for a couple of days visiting with friends so will do one cache a day while here. We did Version 1 of this one when here before, today it was Version 2. SL TFTC
The lid has come off the container, we placed a piece of paper in the top to try and protect it from the rain
We had to find a cache in Cooktown, our northest destination of our holiday. Unfortunatelly we had to leave our motorhome in town because it was longer than 7m... but we have seen cars longer than 7m at the top and it is an easy drive up... back to the cache: it was a quick find!! TFTC
Took Aussie flag (we will take to Central America). Left Timor Leste 25 centavo coin
found it for the second time left aussie flag from fisherman's hideout
thanks bamster

After we enjoyed the sight from the lookout, this find was an easy one!
Thanks a lot for showing the place!

So pleased that there was a cache up here because our tour bus took us up here for the view - which is magnificent I must say. While everyone else was taking photos up the top I ran down here for the cache. I then had to return up the hill trying to half run to make it back to our bus before it was all loaded. Thanks for the cache - it was the only one I was able to get up this way. Unfortunately the lid is a separate piece. It is still staying in place but it is half supported by it's resting place. A new container might be in order. So much history in this town - I'd love to come back again in the future. Thank you bamster! Brought some trackables for a visit.....
Looks like someone backed into it!! Must be a gigantic cache. Yes someone has given it a whack even left their tail light lens pieces behind. TFTC great location.
Easy find GPS spot on today, cache had been placed wrong way up so replaced it with lid down. TFTC
Found on ground. Looked like someone had backed into it! Thanks for cache. Beaut view.
An easy find. Cache was laying on the ground but intact, replaced in its hiding spot. What a view from the top. Well worth the visit.

What fabulous views..!!! an excellent spot for a cache...shame it doesn't stay where its supposed to..???? put it back up....would have replaced with same container but had left my supplies back at Mossman...TFTC
Yay!! Actually found on ground, but replaced to original location. No muggles in site.
Had difficulty finding it until we found it lying on the ground. We placed it where we presume it should be.
A quick find and a good view from the surprisingly short lighthouse. TFTC.
Found by Sunshine Toledo and Her Majesty at 9:00am. The cache was easily found between the coming and going vehicles. The cache is in good condition. TFTC
First find in cooktown with the help of triplets simon, jack & sinead, simon was first to the cache.
Stumbling on the geocache on Grassy Hill was the first I had ever heard of Geocaching! My partner found the little box, and it was after dark so we couldn't tell what it was at first. When we first opened it, it looked like it contained a plastic bag filled with white powder, and my partner immediately thought it was anthrax!! When we realised it was paper, we had a read, and discovered the world of geocaching! Unfortunately we didn't have a pen in the car, and the cache didn't have one in it, but I decided to come check the website out. I think I'm hooked...
KuBroHaWrArmies Cape York Caper found with TikkityBoo after very wet visit to top of hill! Was actually on ground. May need bigger magnet. Beautiful view when cloud cleared briefly!
Was on the ground - probably blown off in the wind probably blew it down last night .. Replaced to where we think it should be TFTC - photos were a non event on this wet and dreary day so cache was a nice distraction
We found it on the ground too so tried to push out the tin so the magnet may attach a bit better. Also replaced plastic bag and put it in another plastic bag out side. Tftc, our first in cooktown and a beautiful Spot although raining.
Found while visiting Cooktown for the annual Festival. Magnificent view. Easy find. Thanks bamster. SL.......Silky Seekers Brisbane.
Spoke with lady at info centre at botanical gardens. She has original cache on her council office desk after workers at lookout gave it to her.
She does not know what to do with it.

Found on the ground a short distance away, signed log and put back where I thought it should be!
The work the local council have done up here is amazing, well worth the drive up. Found quickly thanks to the clue. TFTC
Always a beaut place to stop and take in the views of Cooktown and the ocean. Found the GZ no problems. It is in good condition with plenty of room left in the log. TNLN TFTC
Grassy hill continues to improve, what a fantastic spot, the area is well worth the visit.
Did ver 1 a couple of years ago, dropped past today but a car load of muggles sat looking at GZ eating lunch. Oh well an exscuse to come back.
Lucky find as the cache was on the ground. The magnets have lost a bit of their hold. Beautiful day in Cooktown. TFTC.
Found with T.Trudi and the rest of our crew as part of our trip to Cape York. Wind was blowing approx. 30-40 knots which was a continuing theme while we stayed the following 3 nights at Cape Melville.

what a view! thanks a lot for this cache. it is also my most northern cache in australia.
Being a DIDO, this cache was quickly located.
While Walter had photographed one species of cache protector, we encountered a medium size huntsman spider protecting the cache.
The spider did take a bit of persuading to move off the cache container so that the log could be accessed and signed.
A lovely spot with a great view. Thanks Bamster for the cache.

The walk from town is a bit of a hike but well worth it with a nice cool breeze to greet us at the top. Found with Birdingfan. TFTC.
Found it together with sagnard while enjoying the great view over the bay. Thnx!
Being vertically challenged I had to recollect my climbing skills from childhood to retrieve it from the high location chosen by the long arms of Wendyla's husband. But first I had to ask the long legged custodian for permission who watched the cache intensively. You can see it from the photo attached.
Thank you for the renewal of your cache at this stunning location, Bamster!
